Our single bed room was not ready for us when we checked in. I had requested it. We had to haul our luggage again to another floor. There was no offer to help us A fire alarm went off in the middle and f the night. No one informed us it was a technical issue. We panicked to get ready to flee. They could have offered a free breakfast or parking for inconvenience

My family and I made reservations to stay here for 5 nights last week. We were driving to Marseille from Barcelona (5+ hour drive). At the time, unknown to us, there were fires happening on the route to Marseille (which neither the hotel nor Expedia warned us about). As a result, on our drive in, police told us to turn around and go back as it was not safe to drive to Marseille. We drove back to Barcelona and were forced to book a night there at a random hotel, losing our first night at Radisson Blu. The next day, before attempting to drive to Marseille again, we called Radisson Blu (useless call center) and emailed them to find out if it was okay to come. No one responded to our email or called back. We drove there anyway to avoid forfeiting our reservation and have nowhere else to stay while in another country. We finally made it to Marseille, only to find out the fire was now IN Marseille and the MRS airport was closed (which we needed to fly out of at the end of our stay). We stayed one night at the hotel and checked out the next morning because the air quality was so bad. We changed our flight to an earlier flight heading out of Nice airport and booked new stay in Nice. We explained this to hotel management and asked for a refund for the 4 nights we paid for and did not get to use. They said since the booking was made with Expedia, we need to contact them. Of course, Expedia pointed the finger at the hotel and said they need to approve the refund, which they did not.

Katia was very helpful at check-in and throughout our stay, especially with laundry.

Jovanna found me at breakfast. After numerous days on a cruise ship, I could not face the thought of scrambled eggs another day. Jovanna was able to convince the chef to make me a wonderful fluffy omelette with ham and cheese. It was delightful. So were the others.

These two individuals distinguished themselves and exhibited the highest standards of the Raddison brand: service, knowledge and communication.

We initially were concerned about security in the hotel. We later observed several security measures in place which alleviated our concerns.

Coffee selections were amazing. Inside room overlooking the courtyard was very quiet.

Very nice staff although they couldn’t help me get on their Wi-Fi. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The hallway to our room was littered with room service items that didn’t get cleaned up until about 5 PM. But otherwise very nice and reasonably priced. Great walking in the area.

Not worth the money

The first junior suite I was shown had the life shaft directly behind the bed. The second where I stayed the night was over the reception with music playing from 7.30. I thought I had woken up in a night club. The 3rd had no heating and the tv didn’t work. I stayed a night and then was moved to the 4th room where someone had clearly been sick and it had a specialist carpet treatment. Because although the carpet was wet - it still smelt of sick. Wasn’t worth the money at all.

I asked the guy behind reception if he knew of a hotel with a spa nearby. He said No. I asked for room service the first night and he said you are best to come the bar because it will be an hour. There wasn’t enough staff. I would never stay in a Radisson again. A problem in every room and no one cares.

This is only the 2nd time in my life I have asked to change rooms.

Great hotel in a perfect location

Perfect hotel for exploring Marseille, great views over the harbour from a port view room was worth the extra money. Modern hotel with great gym and pool area. Pool was a lovely extra in a city hotel, giving a place to relax after a long day sight seeing. Reception staff were super friendly and helpful. Bar area was a little stale and empty, with the bar staff being also a little awkward and abrupt.

Why to not stay at this property. First housekeeping is a disaster. They do not clean the rooms, do not replace the dirty towels or glass wear. When you beg the front desk staff and they tell you that they will send somebody to your room, when the full well know that the housekeeping staff leaves at 2 pm and that there is only one person who comes on shift in the evening for that size of the hotel property, well that person showed up at 10 pm.
Now let's talk about the beds! Single beds put together to act like a queen bed. In the middle of the night, I rolled over and fell between the beds. I had to call the night duty manager to come to my room, while I was in the process of packing my bags because I wasn't staying there any longer. They did transfer me to a different room, but the funny thing is that the front desk staff told me that the hotel was sold out!
Let's keep going. It's interesting that all the restaurants along the old port, their patios are jammed packed with patrons, but the hotel has nobody. Well, once you find out how terrible the service is and how the hotel over charges its guest for simple things, like a rum and coke. 10 E for the rum and 6 E for the coke, no wonder nobody is eating there.
Overall, this is an extremely disappointing hotel, in a great location. I truly wish that I hadn't booked there.

Great staff and rooms. Pool was nice for a quick dip and reset after a long day of sight seeing. Perfectly situated in the heart of the Port. Rooms were large and modern. There was a small scent of fish in the hallways of the 4th floor. AC could be a touch colder but overall a great.

We got a sensational room,512. When we checked in early the lady was amazing and even sourced us towels as we had an afternoon of kayaking before the room was ready.
We got some drink crunchers but the team struggled on processing them. Our room wasn’t made up after being out all day then we had to leave to let them do it. The same lady apologized for this. It wasn’t the end of the world.
The area is naturally chaotic. The revolving door wasn’t working and you had to go through the bar, there is lots of security which is good but they tended to be slouched around with some senior team doing similar.
They need to staff the pool bar more as we had to wait a few times for service (might sell a lot more too!!)

The common areas and rooms have all just been refurbished so everything is in excellent condition. The staff are friendly, especially Gaelle who was exceptional at check in for her personality and travel advice. The buffet breakfast offered a nice variety of foods. The location is excellent in close proximity to all forms of public transport.

This is a very well positioned hotel - near the beautiful old harbour .
It is a good hotel. My room was nice, bed comfortable. Tea and coffee machine/ that was important for me.
Nice but small seining pool. Good breakfast.
But they had an issue with cleaners. Though my room was clean, the corridors weren’t that brilliant.
I had an issue that the cleaner left a window opened in my room, and I was beaten by mosquitoes all night. Also, so called VIP access was just the cheapest glass of wine worth 6 Euroes. Sounds not right together with word. ViP

Great but a little prior warning!

We really enjoyed our stay, the staff were lovely, the room was clean and really comfortable.
The only issue was the protesting out side the door everyday, which would make the reception area smell because of the stuff they would through at the entrance door. I wish there had been prior warning of this before our arrival, seeing as this has now been going on for nearly 2 months, according to the local news article.

The hotel is nice but two things were an issue. First the wifi didn’t work for hours the day I arrived and I was working so it was a problem for me. Second there was a very loud pool party Saturday night till 2am. This limited access to the pool that afternoon and the noise was unpleasant - not only the loud music but also the partygoers who kept congregating by the elevator (right outside my room).

I had a very comfortable room overlooking Vieux Port, with high quality amenities. Convenient for transport and many of the visitor attractions of Marseille. Area very lively in the evenings, which visitors may or may not appreciate. Immediately local restaurants too focussed on passing tourist trade so best avoided.

I loved the location, the cleanliness and the morning breakfast. The room halls are under renovation, but this was minor. I also felt a bit like a thief when I began my (paid for) breakfast. They could be more charming with a greeting when I arrived, instead of an interrogation. Otherwise, I enjoyed my experience.

Location is not bad, but the hotel is undergoing renovation. I had to walk over plastic foil as the lobby was being renovated and looked in no shape to receive guests. The AC was also not working. I had to call the concierge at least 20-30 times (no one would answer). It turned out the AC was mechnically shut down. They had to send technician.

We were very happy with our stay at the Radisson Blu in Marseille! The location is perfect - right on the quay, with easy walking to lots of restaurants and shopping, a beautiful view of the port, and (if you can manage the uphill part) a fairly quick walk to Notre-Dame de la Gard (not to be missed)! Staff were very helpful. Rooms were renovated, clean, and modern. The lobby was being renovated during our stay, which was a minor inconvenience, but it will be fabulous once completed. Highly recommend.

Waiters and Reception team were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location and public parking is nearby. The temporary lobby worked because the staff is so good. The construction in the lobby did not affect the restaurant or the rooms and should be really nice when it is done.
