I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The service was excellent, the breakfast was very good, and the location is great. My only criticism is the bathroom: there is no proper shower enclosure, which causes the bathroom to get very wet, and there was no hygienic shower (bidet spray) available. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.

L’hôtel est un peu vieillot, et le quartier… plutôt très populaire et même parfois inquiétant. L’accès au parking…difficile.
Pour autant, chambres propres et confortables, personnel gentil et avenant, super cocktails et bon snacking au bar.

Unfortunately, my stay here was quite disappointing. Both the room and the communal areas were infested with mosquitoes and other insects. The room felt as though it was falling apart — cracks and stains on the walls, worn-out carpets, and an overall shabby appearance that resembled a cheap motel more than a hotel. The surrounding area offered very limited dining options, and many of the nearby cafes were frequented exclusively by men, which made it uncomfortable to enter, let alone sit and eat.
On the positive side, the staff were polite and the bed was quite comfortable. The hotel is also within a short walk of the old port and the nicer parts of Marseille.

This was great hotel for our first visit to Marseille. It was centrally located. It’s close to great neighborhoods (Panier, Vieux Port, Noallies, and Cours Julien) — all are within walking distance. The staff were nice (the man working the front gave us a good a good restaurant recommendation). The room was spacious and clean. The building was quiet which allowed us a good night sleep after a long day exploring the city and its amazing history and street art. I would highly recommend this hotel for a first visit to Marseille.

Impossible d’obtenir ma facture par téléphone malgré l’urgence. On me demande d’envoyer un mail sans aucune considération, et on me raccroche au nez quand je demande à parler à un responsable. Tive problemas com chuveiro no primeiro dia e tivemos que trocar de quarto. Na saída o cofre não funcionou e passaporte e outros valores ficaram sem ser retirados. Manutenção inicialmente não conseguiu abrir o cofre e só conseguiram isto as 4 da manhã, o que prejudicou meu descanso.

We found the location near the old port very convenient for visiting the old port area and selection of restaurants, all within walking distance. Check in staff were very helpful. The parking location and way back was a bit challenging even with good instructions from staff (at night and with new rental car) however was very safe and secure. Room was fine except that we found the paper glasses provided were a bit of a letdown.

Everything very good and at a fair price, except for parking. We arrived on Sunday early evening but had to wander in a vast parking, end up in a closed mall and behind closed doors trying to get to the reception before a \"search party\" liberated us.

In the city centre, less than 10 min walking to the Vieux Port. Extremely comfortable bed, nice shower with Nuxe shower gel, decent room size. Breakfast was also very good, with delicious local cheeses and lots of options. Will definitely stay here again when in Marseille.

This is not a 4 star hotel. Bathroom had combination body wash/shampoo. Not lotions. No conditioner. No bar soap. Gym had no glasses for water all week long. This rating is based on a 4 star hotel rating.

The parking was offsite and when I couldn't find it after a very long day driving a male member of staff was very dismmissive of my problem. On leaving I found my car had been broken in to and when I reported this a female staff member said I had parked on the wrong level and dissmissed the event as nothing to do with them. later that day a different female staff member did help with my situation. Overall, they could indeed SHOULD have offered more assistance to our situation

Spent a few days in Marseille to chill, enjoy the historic sites and take in the atmosphere. Marseille is a busy place with lots to see and plenty of places to eat and drink. This Mercure is located well, comfortable, and has a great breakfast.

Building work 24 hours a day outside of the hotel

I have stayed in Mercure Hotels before and I knew what to expect. The hotel room was fine. Large and spacious along with a king size bed.

What I didn’t expect was a building site outside my window that worked all night.

They are laying the road at the moment in front of the hotel and they had the diggers and tarmac machines working all night. There was a constant rumble of Machinery as well as the siren from the machines as they passed the hotel. I was kept awake all night.

Excellent location a short comfortable walk to the Old Port. Dedicated parking in a nearly adjacent car-park (which current roadworks made slightly tricky to find). Staff very pleasant. Enjoyed the panoramic view from our 10th floor bedroom. Bit of a \"rickety\" table in the room our only complaint, otherwise loved it.

Good location. Staff at check in were not outright rude but were not welcoming. Wanted a twin room but got a double smoking room with a very strong smell of stale cigarettes. Was asked to pay the city tax on arrival but staff at checkout had no record of this and kept me waiting for ages until they accepted I had already paid. The building felt tired and generally dirty, including the bedsheets and towels.

I chose the hotel because it was close to the port and had a fitness suite. The location was fine and as expected. The fitness suite was very poor:
The one and only weight machine was out of service.
The cardio machines were old
There was no water facilities unless you brought a cup down from your room

The bar was expensive and depending on which waiter was on duty you may have to wait a while before getting their attention as he may have a conversation to complete before he deigns to ask you what you want. It was very expensive too but Marseille is quite expensive for drinks.

Hotel is a bit old and would do with a refurbishement. It is very qiuet away from the noisy center. Mosquitos in the room. Bed was very comfortable. Staff was ok not very welcoming. No toiletries or slippers supplied. Feels more like a 3 star hotel. For the price I paid it a good value for money thanks for great deals from Expedia.

You get a lot for your money at Mercure Marseille. Our room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. It's only a short walk to the port area and there are numerous good restaurants there and nearby. The staff is excellent. We stayed there twice and were very happy with our choice. It's comparable to a Marriott Hotel in America. The Colbert-Hotel de la Region metro stop is only three blocks away and from there, it's only one stop to the St. Charles train station.

Hotel is close to the port and Vieux Port neighborhood. Nice lobby area and breakfast area overlooking ruins of old Marseille. Rooms are furnished cheaply, for instance they give tiny mouthwash-sized paper cups for coffee/tea, fridge is small even for hotel standards. Wifi was nearly non-existent on 7th Floor. Also hotel refused to make up our room as I was sick in bed during the morning and when I asked for service at 3pm, I was told there was no longer anyone around for house keeping (on a Tuesday).

The hotel is very nice and the staff were friendly. Not having on-site parking was mildly inconvenient, but they do have a reserved lot in a nearby parking structure. It is convenient enough to the harbor and old town, but the immediate area is a little run down.

Excellent location close to the city centre and just a few minutes' walk from the Old Port. The entrance to the hotel is in a rather unglamorous concrete plaza at the rear side of a shopping centre but easily accessible.The rooms are of a reasonable size and are well-equipped. Breakfast is good - especially the scrambled egg.

Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port is located in a great location, right in the city center with only a quick 5 minute walk to the port for great views and easy access to lots of shops and restaurants. This area of the city is also safe and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and very large. There is a parking garage right next to the hotel, which is convenient if you have a car. I would definitely stay in Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port again when visiting Marseille.

Staffs speak very poor English, can hardly communicate. Ordered room service for dinner, paid $40 euro but with food came in 2 jars heat up by microwave, taste no good. When I finished the instant food, I called the staff to come pick up but the dirty dishes left overnight just outside my room not until the next day I finished breakfast and remind them to come get it 🙁. The room, carpet is dirty and no slipper provided, also no hair conditioner. The location, though near to the port area but turned into a dark corner which seems quite dangerous at night whist the street is very dirty. As they claimed a 4-star hotel, totally not expecting all these, be frank, not worth staying.

This hotel is in a great location, has an updated bathroom with nice shower, an amazing view and king size bed all for a really good value for the price!! We stayed here twice in our recent trip to France and would recommend it to anyone! Underground parking is super convenient at the bourse centre and the hotel validates it so it’s 20€ instead of 30

Good stay, great potential but a few small issues

Stayed 3 nights (Mon to Thur) in a “privilege” room on the 11th floor. The room was spacious, with very modern, almost 5* level decor (the exception was the painted stucco wall, which cheapens the overall feel of the room). The room came with a complimentary minibar with water/juice/pop. It only had a small window, so it felt a bit dark, though we had a full view of the Roman ruins in the Jardin des Vestiges next door, and in a distance we could see the top of the boats in the old port. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The wifi in the room worked well. The one major issue we had with the room was the air quality (poor circulation and dryness). Our room was cleaned daily, though we did have one recurring issues with housekeeping. Location-wise, pretty convenient. As mentioned, a short walk from the old port area. Just east of the hotel was the busy Belsunce district, with tons of restaurant and shopping options (though front desk staff advised us to avoid the area late at night, so we stayed close to the old port for our late dinners). The train station is close by, though cab rides to/from it were fairly torturous at all hours due to traffic.
