This place had a bad smell in the buildings halls and main areas, thankfylly the room was ok. The room was small and had no extras, it had the bed and bathroom all clean.
The buffet was not worth the cost, it had processed meat (2 kinds) cheese, breads, cearial yougart and eggs you boiled. Only stayed 1 night as it was to pungent. I would not stay long term. It is close to the metro so that was convenient.

The receptionist was so helpful to us especially when we didn’t get our food order from uber Eats. The rooms are exceptionally small, and the neighborhood near the Train station dis not feel safe to walk in even at 5:30PM in broad daylight. The Google Maps directions to this Hotel took us all the way around the station and then down the street. I suggest after receiving a booking this Hotel email the guests directions on which exit to use out of the trains station. Walking around this massive block area, uphill at times, with luggage was not fun and totally avoidable!

The location is great, especially if you are traveling by train, because the train station is just one block away and a few minutes from Plaza de la Comedia. The main attractions are within walking distance.

The room is big, with good space that makes me feel really comfortable, and a plus is having a mini kitchen furnished, which makes me feel even more comfortable.

For sure, next time I will choose this place and totally recommend it.

I was disappointed in this hotel as it was not up to other Ibis Style standards. It is a basic hotel. It was clean with nice sheets and towels. No cupboard space to unpack clothes so room does not invite you to stay long. Good breakfast.

An itchy experience

Hotel well located if you need an early morning train. Friendly reception staff. However, bedbugs tarnished my stay. Got a really strong reaction and now have to be on steroids. Pest control may need to fumigate all rooms as a preventive measure for future guests. Stains on the only bathroom towel provided, toilets flushing button not sealed properly which came off, etc.
I have enjoyed all Ibis/Accor group experiences I have had in the past in other French cities/abroad. This was not my most enjoyable stay.

At first, we tought the images were not in line with the expectations, but finally we realised they was a patio with an area to work which was oir initial need for our stay.
The team was friendly and helpful at all time. Hotel is well located if you travel in and out of the gare saint charles. Breakfast is good.

The room was larger than i expected, with a double bed and a proper bathroom with shower. The room was warm, but had no closet, just a little table in a corner.
I stayed in a room close to the elevator facing an inner patio. I never heard the elevator while I was in the room, the only noise I heard was the toilet flushing from the room above.
The breakfast selection was very good!
The hotel is located right next to the train station, the area is a bit rough, but I never felt unsafe.

We had a lovely stay. The star even though they know little English they were still helpful and welcomed our little dog. The room was basic but very clean. Breakfast selection was good too. Car park close by and if you're lucky you might find a parking in the street :)

Excellent Hotel for a Budget Price

Overall, I was very happy with my stay. The hotel is right next to the train station which was perfect for me since I was arriving late at night and renting a car next to the station upon my departure. The room was small, but for the price it was excellent. It was very clean and the furnishings were great, including those in the bathroom. The bed was soft and comfortable and the AC worked very well. The only thing that wasn’t excellent was the front desk service the night I arrived. There were two employees more concerned with talking to one another than with checking guests in. The desk clerk refused to respond to me in French although I was asking questions and answering questions in French. I am in France for an immersive experience and did not appreciate his attitude. If the front desk service was as excellent as the rest of the hotel, this would have gotten a perfect 10 from me.

Small cozy feeling hotel. Triying to use colour, maps and quirky patterns to jazz up property. Nice try though doesn’t always work. But cleanliness and genuinely helpful if unassuming staff a positive.
Dull stained carpet in corridors a let down to a property which was otherwise spotlessly clean. Amazing value with breakfast included.

Good enough and cheap for short stay

This hotel is perfect for short stay (like one night). Room and bathroom are renovated and clean. I like view from the window on the street (we lived in 311-th room).
We took a breakfast outside, in the pattiserie 'La Jocond' (just couple doors from the hotel toward train station).
Unfortunately, there is no Wi-Fi in the room (however, there is Wi-Fi in the lobby, close to the reception)

Misleading map.

The main thing about my stay was finding the hotel. It is not where it showed on the map also it still have the na,e Hotel Balladins onthe outside. So, a hotel with a different name in a different place to that shown on the map was a nice surprise at 10.30pm.

The room itself was small, but in good recently renovated condition. It was rather warm, and the air con was a bit of a mystery, but I slept ok despite this.

I was not offered breakfast but at €9 mentions on the booking I would not bother as I would suggest there are better options locally.

So if you stay here check the location on google maps. It I should still convenient for the station, but not where it claims on the map. Go down the big flight of steps, cross straight over the road and it is a few down the road on the left.

This property was conviently located right at the train Stn, which was important to us. What we didn’t realize was it was in a bad part of town. The front enterence is smoke friendly so we weren’t happy with that, but the units are on a different floor and not impacted by the smoke. The room was the tiniest room I’ve ever been in, but it worked for us. The bathroom was spotless clean.
Overall for the low cost, it’s worth a stay of the train Stn is important along your journeys.

Ideally located on the main drag down to town just 10 mins to the harbour. Took a while to find it as the hotel name was covered up. Presumably they’ve had a name change.
Parking at the station is ideal just a short walk away with reduced rates if you ask at the hotel.

Excellent location, with restaurants and bars just around the corner. However, a few things not good: shower changes hot to cold by itself, and the worst, windows are sealed, so the air inside the room does not change. I had to keep the door open for some ventilation.

Comfortable hotel near the train station

As I was travelling from London on the Eurostar and leaving for Italy the next morning, it was essential that the hotel is close to the train station. Although the hotel is on a busy road, my room at the back was really quiet. The air conditioning was most welcome as it was hot and humid in Marseille, being the middle of July.

The main lobby of this hotel greeted us with a severly stale smell. The room continued the disappointment with carpet that was burned and stained everywhere. The reading lights had no bulbs and the holes were fulled with chewing gum. The bathroom had no toilet paper and our concerns continued with the comfort of the bed and pillows. The pictures of this hotel make it look far better than the reality. We requested extra pillows as the rooms had two small pillows and we were told no they could not provide any. I would not suggest this hotel to anyone travelling to this area...AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Fair priced hotel minutes from train station

Hotel adequate. Breakfast room was lovely and breakfast itself was good with products being baked at regular intervals. The room was basic but bed was comfy and shower was hot. The only negative was the carpet in the room was dirty and sticky needed a good shampoo. Overall the hotel was fine for the amount of time we spent in it. About a 15 minute walk from the marina.

Nice reception area, nice breakfast room. A little disappointed with room, it had NO curtains and we were given two single beds. I addressed issue with receptionist who was aware that there was no curtains, so that was annoying but she was apologetic and agreed to move us to another room and gave us two free breakfasts. So I asked for a double bed which I had booked originally but there were none!

Nice hotel in Arab neighbourhood

This is a nice modern hotel close to the train station. The is a very \"ethnic\" neighbourhood and I would not recommend it to somebody coming home at 2am in the morning from a night at the pub. My pregnant wife and myself were ok duirng daylight hours but we would not travel in the area after dark.

The hotel is right next by St Charles train station, so it was very convenient, since we only stayed in Marseille for transiting around. A bit far to the beach by public transportation (30mins) but manageable.

Staff is friendly, they even helped us print out the tour voucher. Room is clean and comfortable.

Arrived midnight so needed Hotel close to main station. Stayed 7 nights as excellent location and walking distance to everything. Quiet even on first floor room. Excellent room but only French channels on t.v. Good hotel service but did not take 10 Euro breakfast as better value at cafe next door. Would stay again as good value for money.

Short Break

We knew the area of Marseille , near St Charles Station, as we had decided on cheap accommodation B+B, knowing we would be out all day enjoying Marseille - however we were disappointed with the overnight traffic noise due to the room position so sleep was disturbed. Otherwise the hotel was clean and the room though small was adequate i.e. no extras other than liquid soap and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast, continental style was quite adequate and one could make a good cup of tea!!
To sum up it is not for family occupation - you get what you pay for and in this repect is up to scratch.

Good Location Near The Train Station, BUT...

The hotel is less than one block from the St. Charles train station. Yet, it is not visible from the station and, therefore, a little difficult to find. Just go down the main steps from the station and cross the street. The hotel is on the left.

The front desk staff was pleasant. The room lacks a phone but the staff will knock on the room door if you need a wake up \"call\". The room is quite small and spartan. Think of a budget motel in the U.S. and cut the room size in half. The bathroom was of adequate size, but impossible to take a shower and keep the floor from getting wet. Plenty of hot water.

The hotel has an elevator. Pretty spacious but slow. The room heating/AC system worked inconsistently.

Breakfast in France is expensive, as are many meals, by U.S. standards. The hotel continental breakfast buffet was pretty good and a good value, by local standards, when prepaying on the expedia website.

Hotel is well located near train station that is very convenient. Overall facilities are ok, room is clear and has basic stuff. The biggest problem is WIFI. The first 2 days, we hardly get connect. I wrote a page long letter to the owner, then it was getting better for the last 2 days. At least, we logged in several time then it could got connected. Receptionist was nice. I felt sorry for them that received complaint about WIFI from all guests.

Good location but close to railway station so a lot of hobos hanging around. There was a very strong smell from the shower hole like sewerage and sometimes it was evident in reception. Although located near the train station on a busy avenue, the hotel is very quiet and suitable for business travellers. The rooms are clean and furnished for practical use. One problem is the lack of phone service in the rooms. Staff at the reception are helpful in providing information on where to access services in the city when asked but they they do not volunteer this information. They serve a good breakfast which is included in the price of the room.

Nice stay by train station

We liked this hotel and thought it was cute - we liked the little decorative touches and clearly they'd put a lot of work into it. The shower didn't have a door and our drain was clogged, so our first night our bathroom got quite wet and spilled out on the carpet, so our room smelled the next day. When we talked to the front desk it was clear this had happened quite often, as he wasn't very surprised. If they updated the shower I'd give this an overall of 4/5. The location was great as we were travelling by train, but as 2 female travellers we weren't super comfortable walking back to the area after dark.

Clean, convenient and friendly staff.

The hotel was spotless. Staff were very friendly and it was very comfortable overall. The area was very run down and dirty but it was directly beside the train station and a short walk into the city centre. If you don't mind a short walk through this area I think it is a lovely hotel, especially if , like us, you need to get to the airport early in the morning.

Overall great

Great everything, we arrived a couple of hours before check in time and they worked hard to get us a room ready immediately (even though we didn't ask) and everyone was so friendly and helpful location is excellent if you taking the trains which we did, the station is a 2 minute walk. The only problem was our wifi didn't work in the room, so we had to use it in the lobby which wasn't a big deal.
