Staff was super helpful in giving directions to get to the Calanques! And got us breakfast to go for the morning. The room was a little musty and the hallway of guests quite loud, but you could not get a more convenient location next to the train station. The street behind the hotel is a little sketchy, but walking to the old town/downtown On the orher streets surrounding was great!

Front desk were competent, rooms were reasonable priced being so close to the train station. Our room was clean but cramped. Air conditioner worked very well. There was some noise even when the window was closed. Very small elevator and had to walk up one flight of stairs to catch it.

Train Station Hotel

Location is the biggest selling point of this hotel. It is SUPER convenient to the train station ... ~3 minute walk, so no matter what time of day you arrive, you can easily get there without having to worry about transportation. You can also store your luggage there after checkout, so if you aren't leaving the city immediately, you can go exploring and know your luggage is safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful to someone who doesn't speak French. The room itself was quiet but very basic. The bathroom ceiling had old water stains everywhere, the shower stall was very small and the tile grout was dirty. It was the kind of place you don't want to walk around barefoot. For me, the convenience outweighed the lack of amenities.

The room was accommodating. I liked how close it was to the train station and it is a very easy 10 min walk to the port. downside to the room was that the bathroom smelled like smoke from the outside, almost like the window wasn't closed, but I could not adjust it. It is a bit loud, but with a white noise app I slept well.

The staff was excellent and went out of their way to help us get information about the city.

While this was very close to the Saint Charles train station, and the staff at the front desk was lovely, that's about all the goodness we can put into this review. The halls and rooms smelled like the inside of a barn--you know, hay and animal manure. There was only one outlet & one usb in a lamp. This is the 21st century--upgrade! There were no blankets (& I was ridiculed for asking for one) & the breakfast was...meh at best. We wouldn't return.

The parking is terrible in this area and the hotel doesn't offer anything other than \"park at the train station.\" Parking there is divided into two sections, P2 is dedicated to rental cars. The neighborhood is seedy. We booked elsewhere after seeing that the inside was not much better than the out.

Prior to checking in communication was great, at check-in it was not a friendly reception when i attempted to communicate basics in french, after australian passport was shown manner became more friendly, by end of interaction was helpful about wifi and room details.
Great location for train station and bus for airport.
Room had a strange smell and lots of flies inside, was able open window for some to leave. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Was a little noisy in the street outside all night.

Don't be mislead by the picture's.

The hotel is right next to the train station which is great if catching a train is what you are doing. Otherwise its not close to much. From the outside the hotel is not inviting at all and on the inside its rather drab and cold. The staff was friendly and accomodating but thats where it ends. The safe in my room didnt work, there wasnt even a mini fridge to use in the room. The room is anything but what it looks like in the picutres posted. I would not stay here again.

Okay not that great but next to train station

The location was good and central easy to walk to train station and other sites. Not fond of the rooms because the entire floor smells very bad. We were given a big room originally but it smelled foul so we asked for a different room which is smaller but at least did not smell bad. Just a one night thing and will not book for longer stay. Front desk was nice.

While the hotel did not have my reservation, the receptionist corrected the matter and provided me with an upgrade. She was very helpful and willing to assist. She provided me with info that prevented me from having to take the 200 stairs to the train station, she was a life saver! The hotel is right across the from the train station.

This place is disgusting. Starting from the checkin process the staff was rude, the hallway smelled like a mixture of piss and mold and there was a questionable bug on the wall. Old property and the cleanliness or amenities don’t match the price. Do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere since even the reception area locks the doors not to get robbed at night. Sheesh!

The hotel is right near the train station and the metro lines and made for easy travel. It’s not close to the port so we travelled by Metro 2 stops to the port for restaurants and sight seeing. The trade off is good value for the hotel thats near the train station but not port.

Excellent location and very friendly staff. Our original room han a broken Air Conditioner; however the staff quickly gave us a new room and offered to help us move the luggage. New room was excellent, clean comfortable bed with a modern newly updated bathroom. Besides the friendly service, you cannot beat the location, right across the train station. We arrived late and were quite happy to quickly find a clean nice hotel. Thank you, will stay there again.

Kettle leaked water from the bottom onto the electrical element,
Hotel advertises an elevator, but you need to carry your bags up a flight of stairs first as it doesn't go all the way to the bottom.

Horrendous Wifi!!

The hotel is very well situated across from the train station and within walking distance of the old port. The room was clean and tidy, however; I stayed in \"premium room\" it did not have a mini fridge and the pillows needed replacing. My biggest gripe with this hotel is the wifi, it's horrendous!! If you require wifi to do anything stear clear of this place! Overall and aside from the wifi the hotel was alright.

The hotel is a nice and simple hotel within easy walking distance from the train station. The staff were pleasant and the room was neat and tidy. The air conditioning was difficult to control and the room was a little too warm for our liking but not horrible, so we didn't inform staff.

New Year in Marseilles

The room was rather smaller than we had expected, really just a bed and a small bathroom with a TV, no real room to more around. That would have been OK, because the hotel was very close to the railway station. However, the man in the next room made a lot of noise through the night (31.12.-1.1.). Despite asking the receptionist to help, and knocking on the door myself, the noise continued even though our neighbour was clearly not even in the room for a lot of the time. As we were staying a further night, the reception moved us to a different (more expensive) room at no extra cost. This room was much bigger and more pleasant. So: staff very helpful, hotel clean and well situated, but the hotel was not able to take action overnight to remove an antisocial guest in another room.

Perfect for early departures from St Charles

I picked this hotel entirely because of its location and competitive price. The rooms are clean and it looks like they've done some remodeling in the past decade or so. The lobby is quite dated and the elevator works when it wants to, but those are really minor offenses.
The people at the front desk were always very helpful and there was something there the whole night.
The neighborhood can be slightly desolate and sketchy at night, but I didn't feel unsafe enough to stop me from walking around at night (I'm a woman in my late 20s and traveled alone).
Wi-Fi was reliable, though not fast enough for streaming video. The matress was a little hard and skinny, but compared to other French hotels, was really quite decent.
For value and convenience to the train station, there's really no beating this place in my mind.

Right in front of the station/20 mins walk from the old port--but the area is very shady especially at night. The old buiilding with very small room and you can hear everything from the street. I was shocked that they do not even change towels!!! Reception was not very helpful either. I do NOT recommend this hotel at all.

The worst hotel that I stayed during my 12 days trip! Located right in front of the station; takes appx. 20 mins. walk to the old port. Very noisy--you hear everything from the street; the atomosphere around the neighborhood is just not nice. The room is small and old--and I was so surprised that they do not even change towels!! It seeemed they only made bed and wiped the sink. They even had mosquito in the room, and I got bitten quite a bit. When I asked for a hairdryer, they said they are all \"out.\" Receptionists also were old/tired looking people, not so willing to help either. Do me a favor--DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!

I booked this hotel to be right near the train station and to be close to the harbour. It was right across the street from the train station and a 5 minute cab ride or 20 minute walk down to the harbour. Very convenient... The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were comfortable... I would rebook there again.

Small, poor reception. Did not like the area the hotel was in, not ideal for single traveller especially at night, people sleeping in door ways. Long Black hairs in the shower and on the toilet on arrival. Only stayed 1 night. Felt it was expensive for the room size and quality of the location. Lift was tiny - only fits two people or 1 person + bag, very closterphobic.

Look elsewhere!

Do yourself a favor, find a cheap place that has air-conditioning, especially when the hotel is on a high-volume traffic street. With the 24-hour traffic and ZERO A/C, sleeping with the windows closed was impossible. Matter of fact, sleeping there in general was impossible.

Terminus St Charles - handy for mainline station

This is the second time we've stayed at the Terminus St Charles, which is right at the foot of the impressive main stairs from the railway station. We arrived by bus from the airport which terminates at Gare St Charles. The hotel is clean and pleasant, with staff who are particularly eager to help if you speak French. It is incredibly convenient for travelling elsewhere by metro - Gare St Charles is the junction of Marseille's two metro lines. It is a handy base for two or three nights rather than a long-term destination, but it is good value for money and I like it.

We stayed on this hotel just because we were arriving late (1AM) at Saint Charles Terminal and we did not want to go far.
We usually don't ask for too much, but this hotel is old, dirty (literally smelled like pee in the bathroom) and not caring much about the client. The room was small, only one long pillow instead of two separate pieces, and without self blanket (it was covered with part of the mattress blanket, very unconfortable).
We had to wall to the first floor, and from there take an elevator to the 4th floor. Weird and uncomfortable, specially with luggage, since spaces were tiny.
Location is not that bad, in front to the terminal, but 20-30 min walk to the port.

Literally right outside the railway station (which is also where airport bus brings you to). A short walk gets you anywhere you may wish to visit in Marseilles. Did not need to take underground or trams at all.

Very friendly staff, no problems with speaking English and everything as wanted.

Ne parlons pas des taches d'humidité sur l'intégralité du plafond de la salle de bain. Toutefois, le chambre était propre au niveau ménage. Seul point positif l'emplacement face à la gare.

Horrible.no entiendo la valoracion que tiene sobre todo en limpieza, es el hotel mas sucio en el que he estado nunca..silloncitos a la entrada en recepción ya manchados, ascensor para sólo una persona, escalera con escalones empinados y muy estrechos, suelo de la habitación todo sucio y lleno de quemaduras de tabaco. Al llegar olor fortisimo a tabaco y a cloacas, en la ducha estaba quitada la rejilla de desagüe, asi como el telefono de la ducha desmontado y habia pelos. El baño súper sucio..manchas en los azulejos y el lavamanos amarillo y con cerco de suciedad.El hervidor de agua y la bandeja sobre la q estaba no estaba mas sucio porque no podia...La ultima noche el olor a cloaca era insoportable, tuvimos q dormir con la ventana abierta pese al fresco y lo escandalosa que es la calle, no dormimos nada.No lo recomiendo en absoluto, no me volveria a hospedarme ni en el hotel ni en la zona que te sientes super insegura por la cantidad de mendigos, y personajes que hay..

Il personale è stato eccezionalmente gentile e disponibile, offrendosi persino di conservare le nostre mattonelle ghiacciate per la borsa frigo, un gesto molto apprezzato.
La posizione dell'hotel è davvero strategica: si trova a pochi passi dalla stazione Saint Charles, rendendolo comodissimo per chi viaggia in treno, ed è anche vicinissimo al suggestivo Porto Vecchio, ideale per esplorare la città a piedi.
Consigliamo vivamente l'Hotel Terminus Saint Charles per un soggiorno pratico e confortevole a Marsiglia.

夜１２時ごろ到着しましたが、問題なくチェックインできました　もっと遅いとしまっているのでインターホンを押すといいそうです　駅のエスカレーターで地下鉄におり、2番出口から横断歩道を渡ってすぐです　少し古い感じですが広々としたシンプルな部屋で問題なかったです　スタッフも感じ良かったです

Im kleinen Zimmer, 1. Stock, sehr laut - die Schall isolierten Fenster haben also keine große Wirkung, roch es nach Zigarren Rauch, die klospülung war kaputt, alles wirkte recht abgenutzt und benötigt dringend eine Renovierung. Unsicher gefühlt, sofort wieder ausgecheckt.
