This quaint hotel suited our needs as it was near the Marseilles train station. There was nothing notable about the room. It was clean but quite small. One “beware’ note: the website showed a cute breakfast room, so when asked if we wanted to add breakfasts to our meal we said yes. Breakfast consisted of various kinds of pre-made individually wrapped muffins and pastries, individually wrapped cheeses, individual yogurt and fruit cups. There was white bread for toast. Nothing hot except the coffee, nothing fresh except some fruit. The milk in the fridge had a best before date in June; we were there in October. I’m assuming this was the problem when using the Cafe au Lait option on the coffee machine, as the coffee was terrible. The cost for this breakfast: 11 Euros per person. 😳

Our bathroom drain flooded and we could not use the shower or toilet for nearly our whole stay. They were not able to properly fix it and refused to work with Expedia when we were trying to get any amount refunded. Don't stay here!

There was a stain on our sheet which we discovered that when housekeeping came by they didn't switch the sheet - they turned it over. I found that humorous but it indicated their priorities; need to save water somewhere.

Room a lot smaller than what pictures let see. Couldn’t open our luggage except if it was on the bed. Many broken furniture and the ceiling obviously had leaked during the past but was never re-plastered.

Hotel cleanliness was adequate and nice rooms but the manager was extremely unprofessional and entered our room without knocking or notice during the late evening to check the air conditioning. Once we brought up the concern we didn’t feel safe with people entering our room without notice they got very defensive and refused to acknowledge our concern.

Worst hotel experience ever

Front staff very unfriendly and unhelpful. Ceiling in our room was damaged from water leak above. There was no soap or extra blanket in room which was chilly. We were on 5th floor and the elevator was not working on day of our departure so had to carry luggage down 5 flights of long steep staircase. Room was so small we couldn’t open our suitcases.

Receptionist could not communicate in English, which one would expect in the hospitality industry. Room had 2 coffee sachets. I had a coffee at check-in and one that evening. When I asked for an extra sachet of coffee for the next morning, he refused to give me one. Is the cost of a single sachet vs a disappointed customer worth it? Sometimes It’s the small things that matter.

A week in Marseille

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. It is literally round the corner from Saint Charles. So very convenient for visiting other nearby towns. Two of the reception staffs we met gave great advice on places to visit and metro, tram tickets, etc. They were lovely. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

Bonito lugar, limpio y buen precio pero el barrio es bastante lamentable. Queda a pocas cuadras de la estación y por lo mismo las calles están llenas de mendigos y olor a orines.

Te worst hotel in the whole world. We got there an air conditioner was not working . They said they will switch us to a different room the following day and they did but the room was smaller that we paid for and still the air conditioner didnt work either. They keep saying that they will fix it everyday and they didnt. Staff was very but vet very rude. They didnt even let us speak with manager. i am surprised that expedia has this hotel on their list.To make things worse there was a huge rat in the entrance of hotel. We called expedia so many times to get help and we only got a credit like for 25 dollars . WE stayed there for 5 nights and it was hell. The hotel keep lying about fixing the air conditioner or changing us to a different room,. It was hell .

The hotel is well-located especially for those travelling to or from the train station. The room was small but very clean. There is no mini fridge in the room and the hotel was not able to provide an ice bucket when we wanted to chill a bottle of wine for aperitivo, but this was a very minor inconvenience.

Room and fittings were good. But small. Nicely renovated, tasteful decor and quality materials. Great lift for such a small hotel, new too!! Easy to negotiate stairs. Breakfast area again small, but the food and choices were excellent, one of the best we have had this trip. Staff friendly and efficient. Price is right.

Tiny room in an ugly area

The hotel was in an ugly part of town that had graffiti everywhere. The staff were rude and didn’t speak English. The view out the window was hideous (a dirty alley). The entire room was the size of a closet; there was no room to walk around and I constantly stubbed my toes on the bed. The only positives were that it was close to the train station (10 mins walking) and the room was relatively clean. Overall, a disappointing stay, but I guess you get what you pay for.

The hotel is in a quiet side street but only 2mins from St Charles station and so handy for making trips around Provence by train or bus. The Old Port can be reached in minutes by the metro.
The rooms are modern and very clean. The beds are super comfy. A
good breakfast is available for a small charge. Hotel staff are all helpful and friendly.
This will be my first choice hotel for my next stay in Marseille.

Nice welcome. Handy if travelling into the train station. Seems to be recently renovated. Really small room but OK for one person. Unfortunately the new looking bathroom was let down by the shower flooding everywhere as the door around it didn't work. It was nice and quiet.

nice, easy stay. very close to train station (less than 5 mn) and about 15 min walk to Old Port. really nice room. very clean and modern. lots of storage spots. only downside is the room walls are very thin. i could hear all my neighbors talking, coughing, laughing, etc. both nights i woke up to people entering their rooms and chatting. one time at 2am (and im a pretty deep sleeper but i had to put earplugs in) other than that, the stay was really great. great staff, very friendly too.

I picked this hotel mostly because of its location close to Marseille St. Charles train station. I was a little worried when I checked in, because my friend in town told me it was a sketchy area at night. The reception area is also not overly welcoming and I was very worried about what kind of hotel I was in for. However, I had prepaid and the staff spoke minimal English, so I went up to the room with low expectations. The room was lovely and recently renovated. The shower was very clean and the room was quiet facing onto a central courtyard. There are only four rooms on each floor, so I only briefly heard one neighbor and that was it.

Marseille - A French Reconnection

Last visited Marseille over thirty years ago. I should have come back sooner. The city and Provence is a delight.

I went to the opera house; the vieux port; and all round the city. They have even added a metro system since last time. It works well, along with the rest of the transport system. Museum visits; beautiful churches; and bags of history.
Cassis, Aix en Provence, and Arles thrown in, only down the road. The April weather was 20C all week. That helps.

If you can chat away in French, then so much the better. The locals are friendly. Remember, Marseille isn't Paris or Nice. It is a big city with it's own sense of identity. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was good and with a choice for all budgets.

Good hotel near the station

I had only a really short stay at the hotel but I wouldn't have minded staying there longer if the travel arrangements weren't already fixed. The hotel is just a short walk away from the station so it was convenient for catching the train to the airport in the morning, and I didn't have to wake up too early. Only bad point about the location is that I had to drag the heavy suitcase up the hill to reach the station. It's also a short walk from the hotel to the shops and restaurants, and the harbour. I had booked a standard double room, which was quite small but cozy: it was good enough size for one person for a short stay, however, in my opinion, for two people it would have been too small. Also, there were only two small windows in the bathroom but none inside the main room area itself, which made the room a bit dark. Then again there were also quite a few lamps in the room. The room was really clean and everything looked brand new. The Wi-Fi was fast and worked as expected, which I always appreciate.

La chambre en travaux et pas prête lors de notre arrivée à 17 h, pas de télévision, pas de chauffage, eau chaude par alternance et nous avons oublié nos écouteurs mais apparement les femmes de ménages n’ont rien trouvé !!!
Bref le pire 3 étoiles que nous avons réservé mais
Hôtel.com devrait revoir ses référencements.

À l’arrivée, j’ai eu la surprise de constater qu’il n’avait pas pris en compte et surtout pas lu mon message de renseignements concernant le lit de mon fils de 15 ans.
Ils avaient juste prévu un lit pour un bébé et surtout n’avait pas lu le mail que je leur avais envoyé lors de la réservation.

El hotel está ubicado en una zona bastante regular sobre todo en la noches. Eso ya lo sabíamos pero necesitábamos algo cerca a la estación de tren. Nos quedamos dos noches mientras íbamos y regresábamos de la costa azul. Éramos cuatro y solo nos dieron 3 toallas. Cuando pedimos una extra nos dijeron que no tenían!. La segunda vez fue igual y cuando fuimos a hacer el check out vimos a la señora de.limpieza con decenas de toallas. Reclamamos y la persona que estaba a cargo ni nos miró a los ojos. Personal con malísima energía. Sinceramente no sé queden en este hotel el personal deja mucho que desear y puede uno ponerse en riesgo. No se cómo el hotel está con buena calificación en hoteles.com

Pésima atención al cliente del hotel

Tuve que llegar al hotel temprano porque llegué temprano a Marsella, como ofrecen el servicio de dejar las maletas llegué a dejarlas el 26 de abril en donde me encontré con el hotel cerrado y a bajas temperaturas y lloviendo tuve que esperar afuera a que llegara el recepcionista con pésima actitud, le dije que no hablaba francés y que me hablara en inglés y nunca me habló en inglés solo en francés, incluso llegaron otros huéspedes y a ellos si les hablo en inglés. Nos trató súper mal y no nos dejó esperar la habitación adentro, nos sacó de la recepción de forma súper grosera al frío y la lluvia. Lastimosamente pésima experiencia con el personal, la habitación deja mucho que desear, se ve más grande en las fotos y el wifi de muy mala señal, sinceramente no volvería a este hotel así me regalen la estadía, hay más hoteles en la zona al mismo precio.

In meinem ersten Zimmer ließ die Wand der Dusche sich unten nicht schließen und der Abfluss war verstopft, so dass das Wasser bis ins Zimmer lief. Das Personal hat sich aber schnell darum gekümmert. Das zweite Zimmer war einwandfrei.

Situata in un posto terribile e malfamato, naturalmente omesso nella descrizione della zona,puzza di urina e vagabondi in tutto il quartiere… Gente losca ad ogni angolo… La posizione non è male per girare Marsiglia e l’albergo è pulito e accogliente.. nonostante non parlino bene inglese…ma bisogna scappare dalla zona in cui si trova per raggiungere le zone più turistiche e belle di Marsiglia

Si le personnel fait des efforts pour rendre le séjour agréable,(sourire en option quand même), les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur de ce que l'on peut attendre pour des chambres à plus de 100 € la nuit. Une véritable escroquerie ! Literie de qualité déplorable, bruit dans la rue jusqu'(à 3 heures du matin (éclats de voix, rodéo de scooters etc...) Pour le petit déjeuner, lorsque les 3 tables de la salle à manger (si on peut appeler ça une salle à manger) sont occupées vous devez patienter en attendant votre tour dans le hall. Extrêmement déçus. Mais que fait cet hôtel sur votre site? Vous n'êtes pas prêts de nous revoir !

Πολύ καθαρό δωμάτιο, πολύ εξυπηρετικό το προσωπικό. Είναι δίπλα στο σταθμό των τρένων και αυτό είναι βολικό, όμως σαν περιοχή δεν είναι ιδιαίτερα ασφαλής αν μετακίνησε μόνη σου.

Bonne nuit

La rue dans laquelle se situe l hôtel était peu engageante. Une fois à l interieur tout est parfait. Propreté silence petit déjeuner, d service accueil rien à redire
La douche pas facile à régler si on veut dire quelque chose mais ensemble tre agréable, près du métro et de la gare. Vieux port à 15 minutes à pied
