The hotel was lovely. The reception area is quite small so if another party is lingering it feels crammed. The theme is lovely. I was travelling with my daughter and we loved our little room. We loved that the water-closet was in a separate room and the fact that it was a lovely tub and shower was a treat bc the weather was quite damp. We did not get to use the pool unfortunately. It looked really nice. We also did not do breakfast as I find the cost not worth it. My only complaint about the room is the carpet. It was quite stained. I feel like for a 4 star hotel the carpets should be pristine. The room was maintained beautifully and that is very appreciated. I would definitely stay there again. The location was perfect.

A beautiful hotel in the heart to Paris close many sights to see. Comfortable rooms but somewhat small, typical for older hotels in this area. Highlight is the lap pool and sauna. Metro or bus close by to nearly anywhere in Paris.

An eclectic, fun, stylish hotel. Great service, very comfortable. Stayed in an attic room with a wonderful view over the Paris rooftops. They even have a secret indoor pool and sauna to unwind after a day of walking. Their rum bar is world-renowned, with attentive, well-informed service from Donovan and his team. I'll be back!

This is a charming hotel in a great location in the Latin Quarter. There are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, plus it's only 5 minutes to the nearest metro. The neighborhood is very safe and lively, but quiet at night. The hotel is clean, beautifully decorated, and has a great breakfast and a beautiful pool and sauna (which seems pretty rare for Paris hotels). Staff are friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend it!

My wife and I visited Paris for our wedding anniversary and chose to stay at the Monte Cristo. We really enjoyed our stay, room was lovely, staff were really polite and helped with recommendations and advise, breakfast was good and the bar is cool. Overall very happy with our stay and would definitely recommend.

The staff were so nice and easy to deal with, we arrived early and they even moved things around to help us get into a room early.
No issues with language (I speak English) breakfast buffet was great and delicious.
Our room got a little cold during the night but besides that I highly recommend this hotel!

We stayed 6 nights & ask when arrived if they could find us a rental wheelchair on 5day we found our own.No fridge in room. Pool no hand rails so couldn't use. On 4th day can back at 5 -no made service. Can't walk so had to stay in room when she finally showed up with bad attitude. Watched how she cleaned glasses. Made me sick. Kept criticizing me in french and making jesters. I understand some French. No restaurant. Posted hotel charge the minute arrived to pay instead of posting it to pay when we checked out.

Beautifully decorated hotel. Staff on reception were lovely.

However the rooms are very small, especially if you have big suitcases. Also the restaurant they have across the street has a very limited menu and service wasn’t amazing (wasn’t terrible either). Very expensive dinner for what you get. We actually ended up have a second dinner elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

We didn’t feel like the price we paid was equivalent to what we received. The room was okay but because we had a bath we didn’t have a proper shower. There was a handheld shower head that didn’t reach to the top of my head to wash my hair. Super annoying, get a longer attachment please , I’m not even that tall. The check in was okay. We were told our room wasn’t ready for early check in but we could check in at 3. More like 3:10 and the front desk worker seemed like she didn’t particularly like us. When we checked out they never even asked how our stay was. Not very customer friendly here. The location was good for us but be prepared to use Ubers or the metro to go see any major sites-very obvious information since it’s easy to see that on a map

My partner and I had an excellent stay at Hotel Monte Cristo and would highly recommend it for couples. The rum bar is beautiful although service was poor. We enjoyed the sauna and appreciated the flexibility for scheduling the spa time. The room was very unique and clean; our favorite part was the spacious and bright bathroom. Located very close to amazing restaurants and bars. We would stay here again.

This was a very cute hotel. My room was small but nice. My room was late being ready which I didn’t love because I was very tired from traveling and ready to rest. It appeared as if many people were having the same problem. The breakfast was just “OK”- not the wonderful breakfast you usually get in France, pretty basic. They had a messaging service you could message the front desk but when I did they never responded. No irons in the room, however the spa was lovely.

Beautiful hotels, beautiful junior Suite. Very well decorated with a lot of taste. Service was super. Especially the barman who gives us two glaces of ice every day to drink our cocktails in the room. The bottle of cocktails in the room was very good. The bar is the largest rum bar in France or something like that.

Really enjoyed our stay at The Monte Christo. Were there for two weeks in The Mercedes Suite.
Breakfast was abundant and service friendly. Staff was very accommodating to our needs.
Can’t speak for other rooms, but as tasteful, quiet, clean and complete as our room was (selected for claw foot tub) , whoever designed it didn’t stay in it. Shelves tables and seating could be designed to be more “maximized” for the space. Just a suggestion.
The area was great. Lots of cafes, markets and metro a short walking distance from the hotel. The choice to stay n The 5th made for a true French/Paris experience.
All in all a wonderful stay and would not hesitate to book The Monte Christo again!

Wonderful small hotel

Very nice small hotel. The room is very clean and well decorated. The shower is very pleasant. The room is very quiet. There could be some improvements such as having an iron in the room. The breakfast is nice, but lacks some more warm food options like mushrooms or sausages that are usually served for breakfast. The bar is really nice and they serve very tasty cocktails. The swimming pool and sauna are a great addition to the hotel.

The Hotel Monte Cristo is a jewel of a property in 5th arrondissement. Everything about my stay was wonderful. From the deeply considered decor. The sumptuous delicious daily breakfasts. The helpful and attentive staff. Fresh crisp linen and towels every night. A very comfortable bed. Everything was polished and cleaned. Heated towel racks and so many small touches of subtle but well thought out artistry throughout the hotel. Complimentary Alain Ducasse chocolates! And then just walk out the door and turn to the left and you are soon in a delightful neighborhood of cobble stone streets, beautiful presented bijou shops: cheese, pastries, fish, tea, cafes and multiple small 4-8 top restaurants with a variety of delicious food, and some bookstores. A wonderful rum bar down stairs at the hotel for late night conversation and meetings. I will be back again!

We really liked the hotel. Smart and contemporary but retaining traditional character on the outside and boutique quality inside

The service was good and the staff friendly

Breakfast was a bit carbohydrate heavy and would have been nice for some eggs mixed in with all the pastry. Appreciate it’s COVID but if pastries keep being returned untouched you’d think they’d get the message.

Also, paying €1 euro per minute to use the pool is a bit expensive and as I paid best part of £500 for 3 nights I would have expected the use of the pool to be included.

The classic room is small but the bathroom well designed and big rain shower a plus

Overall I would stay again as the location is excellent and close to plenty of bars and restaurants of high quality

The ladies at the front desk were super friendly and allowed me to practice my limited French. Rum bar is very cool and great selection. The building is old and charming but rooms are nicely updated and with roomy showers and soft beds. The ONLY downside to the hotel, and the reason why price is fair, is that it’s located a bit peripherally in the 5eme arrondissement so you really need to Uber or take the subway to get to any of the major sites of Paris except the Pantheon. Jogging in nearby Luxembourg gardens is nice but gardens are about a kilometer away.

Fabulous hotel that is beautiful & comfortable. The only problem we encountered was being woken at 6:30am by jackhammers on the street outside, however, we did receive notification from the hotel that this was going to happen and was completely outside of their control.

The hotel is located in an accessible area less than a ten minute walk from the Pantheon, and within a few minutes of a bustling and interesting old street full of cafes and restaurants (Rue Mouffetard). The hotel itself and our room were lovely, and the hotel staff were very nice. My only (very minor) complaints are that I personally didn't find the bed to be very comfortable - it was very firm, but if that's what you prefer, it would be fine, and there was a bit of noise during the night from the street below now and then (but that could be remedied by requesting a room on a higher floor). Otherwise, I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Amazing location and staff!!

Absolutely stunning! Beautifully apportioned rooms with an amazingly friendly staff... how is the place only 4 stars?? The location is amazing too... a short walk from the Latin Quarter filled with amazing food to eat and wine to drink!

I would highly recommend staying here if you can. Completely worth every penny. PS: get the breakfast and thank me later... so delicious!!

Lovely Boutique Experience at a Perfect Location

We aimed for a boutique hotel as we went as a couple and had an amazing stay in a standard room facing the back of the property which was very quiet. Sleep quality was perfect, and the air conditioning was centrally controlled, powerful and silent. There was no tub, but a large walk-in 2 head shower for two. The sink was large and there was a towel warmer. The size of the room made it a bit challenging at times to navigate two carry-on suitcases as there wasn't enough space to have them open and also access all corners easily. There was no desk, and there is no closet, but only a classy new thatch wardrobe. We didn't want to spend to much time in the room, so didn't prioritize these things anyway. The brand new restaurant across the street, Le Grand Dictionnaire is run by young, energetic and friendly chef Jean-Baptiste (a Top Chef contestant who formerly worked at MASA Paris) was so fabulous we ate there twice! The hotel is 3 minutes walking distance to our favorite square and foodie street (rue Mouffetard).

We had an in room massage by Justine, who was just excellent (highly recommended)! The long (but narrow) pool was luke warm and great for quick swim and post tourist walk. And the brand new sauna was really pleasant, one could taste the cedar off gassing! We will come back again!

Oh and breakfast A+++!!!! They will deliver to the room too! Wifi was surprisingly fast!

The service was from a young new staff, but great for French standards.

The Perfect Stay in Paris

Stayed there for two nights on our first trip to Paris. Probably, the best hotel I've ever stayed it. Perfect location, very helpful and friendly staff, wonderful rooms (big by European standards), spa, pool, great meals, lovely atmosphere. Just loved it. Will stay here next time in Paris.

Rooms are clean and new (or recently refurbished). The bathroom is great and there’s natural light in the whole room. USB ports at both nightstands, which every hotel should have by now.
Staff is really cool and gave us nice tips of places to ear in the surroundings.
I would certainly go back to this hotel.

This is a lovely boutique hotel within walking distance of Rue Mouffetard, metro, and bus transportation. We enjoyed the proximity to the daily market and lots of cafes. Room was uniquely decorated, bed was very comfortable and linens were changed daily. Desk staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. Pool was a real bonus after walking so many miles during the day. While a coffeemaker was available in room, I did miss not having the ability to make a cup of tea.

Didn't like how Expedia states Deluxe & Superior rooms as exact space, when in fact, Deluxe rooms RANGE 20m-24meters and Superior rooms 17-20m. Expedia: you need to change room descriptions. We paid more for a Deluxe room, but it didn't have a mini-table or chair, making it look like a Superior room. When we asked, we were told there are \"in-between rooms\". Don't know if it's worth it to pay more thinking you'll get more space, when in fact, you get an \"in-between room\".

Really nice place

Really lovely hotel. We stayed in a deluxe room, very comfortable and large bed. Super quiet. Surrounding area is lovely, not far from the Pantheon and also walking distance to St Germain and Notre Dame etc. Much quieter than some other districts which suited us. Nice neighbourhood feel.

A special place

This hotel was lovely in terms of decor and staff. The team there gave us a special room with two balconies, and the whole theme of the hotel is very on point! Classic and alluring, something you have to see to believe!

The pool is great- quite large and the sauna is a nice treat. There is no gym, but I was able to swim as a workout.

The only downside was no mini bar in the room, and the bar closed early the night we wanted to go, which was a shame because it looked so cute! They even let you press your own sugar cane juice.

The room was a good size by European standards, and the bathroom was quaint but very practical. Lovely re-done two-head shower, tiles that matched the decor, and a heated towel drying rack. A perfect mix of classic and modern.

Overall really loved the experience, the rooms and the staff. I would 100% stay here again!

The hotel was brand new, with exceptionally friendly staff. The pool area was serene. The neighborhood has more of a local feel, a stone throw away from the charming rue de mouffetard, highly accessible by bus and train. It was the perfect home base for my Paris trip.

Lovely hotel in the 5eme quarter of Paris

Nice experience but didn't get to try the breakfast or the spa as had to work. I did have a look at the buffet and the food looked good but when I asked about eggs the only option was boiled.
There was a fire alarm at 12.30 on one of the nights due to someone smoking in their room. I think need to communicate on arrival that the alarm will sound should someone do this to limit the inconvenience to other guests.

Charming hotel with beautiful details and friendly staff. Design and attention to details are impressive. Silk wallpaper, hand painted walls and mugs, rugs and tiles, vases and abajures have beed selected with a great attention to every detail and great sense of style. Everything feels so exclusive and authentic. You feel like you live in a movie or a French novel, or traveled in time to the days of 19th century’s in France. We stayed 5 nights in two different rooms and every room was a mind blowing. Hotel staff was super welcoming, friendly and helpful. Fron desk ladies, bartenders, breakfast servants, hotel manager - everyone left very warm impression. I will definitely come back to this charming home of Alexander Duma.

We were lucky to find this brand new hotel in the perfect location for a conference at Paris 3 - Sorbonne Nouvelle (Paris 5ème, Métro Censier-Daubenton). Air conditioning and other amenities much appreciated. The staff were VERY helpful. Great shopping and restaurants nearby.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. The hotel has been recently refurbished, so the decor and fittings are all quite new and in good condition. The staff were helpful and keen to please. (It is the only hotel I have stayed in in Paris where the receptionist personally showed me to my room upon arrival!) The level of comfort in the room was good; the pillows were plump and well-stuffed, and the bathroom towels were soft and fluffy! The shower was good, with lots of hot water.

Perhaps the only negative (for me, at least) was the location, which seemed a little off the beaten track, down a quiet, rather nondescript side-street with no notable attractions or places of interest nearby. It also took me two metro journeys to get to my usual train line (RER B at Denfert-Rochereau), but I suppose if you are more interested in getting to central Paris than to the suburbs the metro would be more your choice, and there are two stations reasonably near to the hotel (about a 10 min walk either north or south).

Fräscht och fint i badrum och toalett. Enda lilla avdraget från 5p var att det inte fanns belysning eller eluttag vid exstrasängen, men det kan man leva med när allt annat är perfekt!
