The hotel itself was really nice and the reception staff always polite. I found one or two of the breakfast staff a little rude at times. We found the room to be quite small with little space to put general things out. One thing that was missing was tea and coffee making facilities, I can’t remember when I was in a hotel without this. All in all, though, it was a comfortable stay.

Good value in nice location

This is a nice hotel in a great location just off Kurfurstendam. It offers good value for a Berlin hotel. The condition isn't perfect as there are quite a few chips and scratches, but nothing too major. There was a footprint stain on the duvet, so cleanliness could have been better. Sockets near the bed would have been good and the light switches were very confusing. The en-suite was small and the shower had a flimsy curtain. On the plus side, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the efficient lift was very welcome. Breakfast was tasty, but overpriced at 20Euros. Lots of other options nearby. Overall this hotel is a good value option for a Berlin city break.

I liked the proximity of the Ku'damm and Savigny Platz for the S-Bahn as well as nice ambience of the hotel. Just to signal our room looked nothing like the photos. It was considerably smaller and more tired looking decor. But fine. Complimentary bottled water would be nice. Of course we could have asked for a second key, but at check in as a couple we were automatically only given one key which I found a bit unusual.

The location of this hotel is great. The room was quiet at night and the staff is very nice and helpful but the bed was terrible and I have never seen a less functional shower. No matter how hard you tried, the bathroom was flooded. Also, the walls were dirty. All in all a mediocre experience.

Friendly staff and a room perfect for what we needed, a space to come back to and sleep after days of sight seeing. The room itself was comfortable and had everything we needed. The only minor issue was that the shower room occasionally smelt of stale water before we would use it. Other than that I would certainly recommend this hotel, great staff, great area of Berlin and great experience all round.

it is close to savignypl station takes 5mins to walk.There are so many restaurants around the hotel.Also there is bar restaurant in hotel down stair.The room is very clean and the queen size of bed . Absolutely the bathroom is so cute.

Great location, side street off Kurfürstendamm and 20 mins on the 109 bus from Tegel airport, five mins from Savignyplatz overland train link and great selection of restaurants thereabouts. Apple a day by the bedside and free drinks fridge. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel with a great view. Shower was a bit messy with only a curtain for a barrier. Expect no food room service, but they provide an apple daily and free access to the mini bar which is restocked daily. Additional cost for breakfast, but I did not buy this.

Cute, quaint, but neighbourhood is the real draw

I love the way these rooms are designed, lots of sweet details, like the knobs on the cabinets, the curtains. Very modern and funky, makes up for the small rooms. Our room was very small, but that was fine for us. Service is very good here, all of the staff are super friendly. There's a free mini bar restocked daily, which is a nice perk. I didn't like that the shower only had a flimsy curtain and not much of a lip on the floor, so water gets all over the place no matter how hard you try to avoid this. It's not the kind of hotel that you can spend lots of time relaxing in during your visit with the smallish rooms and practically no common space or pool or anything, but it's more than perfect as a place to lay your head at night if you're out and about exploring Berlin. The location is great because its close to lots of nice bars and restaurants that are open late, tons of shopping, and easy to zip off to other neighbourhoods from this area by transit. It was definitely quite a nice area, felt like an upscale and very safe neighbourhood. I would stay here again.

What a disappointment!

No A/C, just a mini table fan. Bathroom was super small & shower was at floor level, so every time you turned the water on the whole bathroom would get wet; curtain was made of what seemed to be T-shirt cotton. Not so comfortable beds & lights were scarce. Carpet in hallways seemed to be past its prime. First time I'm charged extra for not returning my room key -- 5.00 euros! Staff was nice, though, & location was OK.

New favorite hotel in Berlin

I've been searching for "my" hotel in Berlin - you know, the place that's the no-brainer as to where to stay. I think I've found it, and here's why...

1.) Great location. Just off the Ku'Damm on a quiet street near restaurants, shops, and transport (the X109 to Tegel is a half block away; lots of links to the U and S Bahn);

2.) Great multi-lingual staff; very attentive, helpful, friendly, and one even keeps his dog at the front desk;

3.) Great rooms, comfy, quiet, well-appointed (and free stuff (non-alcoholic) in the minibar;

4.) Good breakfast options; a full buffet at 21.50 but lots of other choices and a full menu to choose from.

What's not to love?

Great hotel in Charlottenburg

The Bleibtreu Berlin is a great hotel in West Berlin. It's half a block from the Charlottenburg high street, but also five minutes from some quiet streets with great shopping, restaurants, and residential buildings. The Savignyplatz s-bahn station is a seven minute walk and super convenient. It's in a very safe area as well; walking around late at night alone I felt comfortable.

The staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. The rooms are great, too: very clean, modern, and just the right size. (My husband prefers a firmer mattress, but I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud! Only knowing I had a week to see Berlin made me get out of that bed!)

They also have a number of options for breakfast which are very tasty - and they're very quick to bring what you've ordered.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. It's in a great, convenient location, the staff, rooms, and food are all excellent. A great, affordable place to stay on your trip to Berlin!

Quiet central location in Berlin West End

Charming, quiet hotel that represents good value. Only complaint is the tired bathroom which needs to be brought into the 21st century. It's dark and the once trendy tiles (this is Berlin's first designer hotel) need replacement especially in the bathtub. Excellent breakfast buffet (extra cost). Good location for wandering Charlottenburg. Good bus service at corner. TXL Tegel airport bus stops at the top of street.

Two nights in Berlin

This room was very small. Single bed was fine/comfortable, but there wasn't much room to move around and work. It's fine for a crash pad, but not a good setup for working (very small desk, minimal power outlets). The staff were professional - polite and helpful. I could not check in early after arriving by air at 09:00, so I left my bag with the desk clerk and later found it in my room. This is a very safe area, 100m from the Kudamm. There is a Kaiser's grocery just around the corner - it has a cafe and deli.

Fab hotel good location bus 20mins from airport.

Visited a friend and only booked a couple of days before departure. Flight and hotel from LHR.
No German language and was not a problem. Without the help of the hotel reception I would have been lost. He went out of his way to help me and no question was too much trouble. Very pleasant breakfast staff and the choise of breakfast was extraordinary. Fabulous Vietnamese restaurant next door and the mini bar in my room was on the house😀Saw as much of the city as my feet would allow and on my last night saw Cabaret the musical in German at the Tipi-amazing venue and show. Could have stayed longer but sadly had to return to work.

First Time In Berlin

I went solo travelling to Berlin for the first time and i chose Bleibtreu Hotel based on Its ratings here in expedia considering the location and the overall ratings . Overall nice cozy hotel its like you are not really in a hotel its like you are at home , Rooms are bit small and the bed is convenient only for one person i'm glad my friend didn't come with me she wont get a place to sleep in! ... Furniture are simple just as you staying at home of some family , kind of old but its Clean and neat, had troubles at the beginning to get familiar with how the Lights remote work but the staff was really helpful and came to help me at once , I was there on Easter and they left me a card with them all signing on it , it was such a lovely gesture i really recommend this hotel for solo travellers specially whose new to Berlin , location is really good to explore the city.

Nice hotel close to kurfurstendamm but...

on arrival, the facade is very cute there is a nice looking restaurant (where i have not eaten) and a flower shop which is cute too.
The courtyard is quite impressive.
the lobby is a bit old fashioned, i wondered if they tried to keep the brutalist look of just decided not to change it from the previous decor (basically it depends on your taste).
I did not feel any enthusiasm at my arrival from the receptionist but it was quite late, and i believe there is a slight coldness with Berliners that remains polite so you can't really say they are not friendly cause they warm up quite fast.
the room was quite nice, decor was rationalist, slightly dated but was not bad in the first place.
The room was comfortable and quite big and the price i paid was reasonable.
However i felt the cleanliness was to be reviewed, it was clean but all the taps were full of lime scale, so much that i could barely turn the level to change from shower to bath (bath tub was way too big, even though nice looking, to run a proper bath).
So i would say it is over all a nice hotel with a good price (at the time i booked) but the whole lime scale thing put me off a bit, i am not sure i will book again unless the price is still good then.

Nice little hotel off the KuDamm. Close to many shops and a Restaurants. Brief walk to Europa Center, Zoo, and convenient Bus and U-Bahn stations. No parking or AC, but complimentary mini bar and WiFi. The pillows were next to nothing, so bring your own or fold it over.

Nice hotel in Charlottenburg

I enjoyed my stay at the Bleibtreu Berlin. The hotel was in a good neighbourhood and close to transport (bus, U-Bahn) so it was easy to get around the city. It was hot during my stay in Berlin and with no air conditioning in the room it made the room uncomfortable if I was there during the daytime. However, the room and hotel were clean and well presented and staff were always pleasant and helpful.

Quiet street in the heart of the city

This is a wonderful hotel that I would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Berlin near the city center. The rooms were small yet designed in such a way that they don't feel small. Our windows opened towards the back, a nice quiet shared backyard. There was construction going on on a nearby building, but it only happened during daytime hours. We arrived early on our check-in day but the helpful staff was happy to hold onto our luggage until our room was ready. The staff spoke English (the night desk clerk spoke it the best that we could tell). He was able to help us figure out what bus we needed to take in order to get to Tegel airport for a very early flight. As far as location is concerned we were able to take a bus (109) directly from Tegel airport and get off one block from the hotel! Don't waste your money on a cab!!! Our 6:45am flight back on the last day was also easily managed by catching a night bus (N10) from that same stop that took us to Zoo station where we caught the X9 to the airport. Had we had a later flight, we could have simply taken the 109 straight back to the airport. As for food, Taking a right out of the front door of the hotel and walking up Bleibtreu Str. a couple of blocks brings you to a bunch of really tasty restaurants for any meal of the day. We can't speak to the breakfast that the hotel offered as we felt it was too expensive. There are options within walking distance. Either way, great place to stay.

Quirky Hotel Just Off the Ku'damm

This small, extremely personal hotel a stone's throw from the Ku'damm and the U-Bahn is well worth a visit. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly, the rooms are clean and look into a quiet Hinterhof courtyard and although the single room was a little on the cramped side, everything was there including free wi-fi. Breakfast was excellent, and the price very reasonable for the overall quality of this 4* Hotel. Will definitely be staying again in 2 weeks' time.

Very nice place to stay on a budget. The neighborhood is very commercial, and somewhat posh, but close enough to the U1 subway line which will get you to the rest if the city easily. The nightlife isn't that great if your looking to really party the way Berlin is famous for, but there are some really good gems to eat at (think Prussian food). The A-Trane jazz club is a must visit (especially on a Saturday night for one of their late night jam sessions), and only a short walk from the hotel. The room was small but nice, and included a walk out terrace. There was also a really nice bathtub (super deep) which was great for a tall guy like myself. My only complaint is that the bed was only a single. I was hoping for something a little larger, but the mattress was comfortable enough.

We enjoyed both our stays at the Bleibtreu Hotel. Its location is superb. Just off the Ku'damm and a short walk from the Savignyplatz S-Bahn station. The neighborhood is beautiful. Filled with wonderful restaurants and outdoor cafes.
The hotel rooms were quiet and clean. The staff extremely helpful and accommodating. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Location, Location and shopping

The Bleibtreu is one-of-a-kind. An independent hotel with a eye for design and great service. A short walk out the door leads you to high-level shopping, the circle tourist bus and plenty of great restaurants. The rooms are a little cramped but the features are worth it. I would stay there again when I next visit.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The location was great. Close to restaurants of different levels, yet quiet. The service was excellent, the room was clean and pleasant. The only drawbacks were that there was only one small mirror at the bathroom, and no mirrors in the corridors even, to help you see what you look like before you go out in the street. Another thing was that I had expected to have coffee making fascilities in a 4 star hotel.

We will be recommending this hotel to friends. The hotel with its friendly staff, is in a smart location with a swish and trendy cafe, bar and flower shop attached. Places I would suggest visiting is the DDR museum, it is interactive, which is excellent for children and adults alike. The Fernsehturm (television tower) or 'Toothpick' as it is also affectionately known is worth visiting to see views across Berlin. The tower also houses a good restaurant with 1960's decor and rotating floors.
The city feels safe and if the weather allows, it is definitely worth touring around the city by foot or bike, if only to walk off the effects of that huge gateaux and beer or two from the night before!

Excellent hotel

This is the second time in 3 months we have stayed at this hotel. Great position, nice comfy rooms and excellent service. Looking to book again for new year!

Great service, clean room, good location

The location was perfect for me as I was travelling alone (female) and I felt very safe. The room was clean, although a bit small. I'm glad it was just me as with another body, it would have been tight. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were excellent and very attentive and helpful. All in all, a very nice place to stay for 6 nights.

great helpful staff

Great location, quieter than the other end, easy flat walk, 10 minutes, from zoologist station even with suitcases. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Staff exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Great hotel for a couple, weekend break

This hotel is in a superb location, artistically decorated and serviced by helpful and polite staff. The room was very comfortable and made great use of the space available, particularly for storage. My only criticism would be that the room that we stayed in was a little on the small side, and did not have a chest-of-drawers. Hence I would recommend it more for a weekend getaway for a couple. If you have more luggage or are staying for longer, then I would request a larger room (if available). There is a nice deli/cafe attached to the hotel, which creates a good ambience, though I found €5.50 for a fresh orange juice quite expensive. It is also closed on Sundays. Overall this is a great place to stay if you are a younger (or youthful!) couple, or travelling alone, given the KaDeWe on Ku'Damm is about a 15 minute walk, the underground at Uhlandstrasse about a 5 minute walk, and the S-Bahn at Savignyplatz about a 10 minute walk away. You can anywhere in Berlin from these access points.

Fabulous

The room was nicely appointed yet on the small side. The breakfast was fabulous and the restaurant food truly exceptional. The hotel restaurant and breakfast room are beautifully designed in a modern style. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is absolutely perfect near all the public transportation, shops, and restaurants. Despite its central location the hotel was very quiet. We will certainly stay at this hotel again.

good value special hotel

The Bleibtreu was everything I hoped it would be; peaceful, friendly, tasteful, simple, great value, comfortable and set in a really nice area of Berlin. Even though the area was posh it was not hard finding reasonable, quirky places to eat or have coffee.

Fabulous Hotel, Great Value

I really enjoyed this hotel and couldn't fault it on anything. If I had to criticise something, it would be something as trivial as the towels being a tad small. The WiFi was excellent and so was breakfast. I even liked the bathroom fixtures. Smack-bang in the middle of West Berlin. The bus from Tegel Airport stops 100 yards away, and the train and underground stations are only a short walk away. Will definitely stay here when I'm next in Berlin.

Small, cosy hotel in excellent position

Looking for a hotel in Berlin can be daunting. The Germans believe 'bigger is better' and if you prefer a smaller 'boutique' hotel, then Bleibtreu will be for you. The name means 'Stay True': which was appropriate for our wedding anniversary. The breakfast was excellent; the staff very friendly and although our room was small, its high ceilings made up for it. The location is excellent and indeed, getting there from Tegel airport couldn't have been easier. Just step on to the 109 or X9 bus!

wonderful staff, great location

The staff could not do enough to help and were lovely. The location is great, just 5 mins from the U-Bahn and S-Bahn stations. Lots of good shopping and restaurants in the area. My third floor single room was large and peaceful and the buffet breakfast was brilliant. I also dined in the hotel restaurant one evening which was good. My only slight gripes are the lack of free wifi and an irritating lighting system in the room with too many switches and dimmer settings that made it a fiddle to turn the lights on and off.

Excellent Location

I got a very good rate on this hotel--so keep an eye out for deals. The location is excellent--an easy walk from Savignyplatz S Bahn and near Zoo Station. I was there by myself and the room was small but very comfortable. The staff helped me with events, flight check in and getting to the airport. One reason I chose the hotel is I wanted to be within easy reach of Tegel Airport. It was a three minute walk to Kurfurstendamm and a cheap 25 minute bus ride to the airport. The neighborhood is nice--supermarkets, restaurants, etc. Very easy to get anywhere from here. I was pleased with my choice of staying for part of my trip in the west in Bleibtreu Berlin and part in the east at Hotel Indigo Berlin-Alexanderplatz.

the hotel and staff were very helpfull, nothing was too much trouble. all spoke good standard of english.located near 2 stations, nice glassy area with lots of lovely restaurants and bars,which were great value for money.

Hidden Gem in middle of Berlin

Close to all transportation. Really good restaurant below. Friendly staff. Roomy and clean with big bathroom. No complaints at all. Would stay there again.

Great location in Berlin!

This great hotel sits a block south of the Ku'damm and just west of the Uhlandstrasse, giving you easy access to buses and U-Bahns, plus a direct bus to Tegel Airport. You couldn't ask for a better location. The entire Bleibtreustrasse is filled with excellent restaurants and charming buildings all the way to the Savignyplatz S-Bahn station. The hotel staff is wonderful and very helpful. Extremely quiet rooms. Free minibar.

Best in Berlin !!

I stayed recently in the Blebitreu hotel with my husband and 5yr old daughter we had an amazing time in Berlin but this hotel made our stay so memorable the friendly staff the location just off the Ku,Damm and the room which we had was so well equipped not to mention the free minibar and apple on the pillow each day we wouldn't stay anywhere else if we return to Berlin and want to keep this place a secret from our friends !!

Great hotel in a superb position

We enjoyed a week at the Bleibtreu in July. The staff were all amazing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We arrived very late on a Sunday night, but that was no problem. Extra pillows were produced on request and when we had a problem with the shower room door it was fixed whilst we were out during the day. The receptionist organised our visit to the Reichstag (which was the highlight of our holiday). The hotel is in a great situation with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby and a bus stop at the end of the road. Our deal included breakfast and we would recommend this as the choice is absolutely fantastic. If we had one complaint it would be that our room was at the top of the building and we found it uncomfortably warm at night, even with the windows open, but overall, we would definitely recommend the Bleibtreu.
