Communication. Life was not working the entire time. No note from GeneralManager. No gesture to guests to apologise. When looking under bed this morning for something I had lost found drink tins from sine previous guests… very shabby.

The hotel was very clean and comfortable, the staff friendly and very helpful. The U-bahn and S-bahn was in easy walking distance and there was a good variety of restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast was basic continental but a good selection.
Unfortunately, the restaurant next door played very loud music on the Sunday which attracted drivers in noisy cars making sleep impossible. The other nights were fantastic and had perfect night's sleep.

The hotel is easy to reach by train from central station and is around the corner from Ku'damm. It is super centrally located.
The hotel is clean and has everything one needs for a trip to Berlin.
For guests with mobility issues, note that the bathtub/shower wall is high and might provide some issues getting in and out.

Hotel just off Kdam shopping street

Very nice hotel just off the Kdam shopping street. The hotel is very strick on check in times, 3pm....so plan ahead. Room & bathroom was very nice, very big bathtub which is why I picked the hotel. Breakfast was very good with lots of choices. Would stay again.

Perfectly decent hotel, well situated for shopping and with large, pretty comfortable rooms. Nothing to criticise or get excited about. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t judge. No bar or public areas to speak of. Very lively Shisha bar/restaurant right next door but never heard a thing. Very fair value overall.

Good location but hotel needs some improvements

Good location beside supermarkets & very near bus stops and U Bahn, and the hotel is just off the main shopping areas. Rooms could do with upgrading but still comfortable & clean. One flaw is the fridge powers off with all other electrical sockets when you take out your key card to leave your room. So if the fridges were set to work all the time when guests were staying that would be a great improvement cos otherwise the fridge is pointless.
Staff haven't the best English, but were mostly helpful.

I booked a 4☆ hotel as a special treat,, and it wasn't cheap. This hotel is not 4☆by any standard I recognise. Apart from the room and a breakfast room, there were no other facilities, not even a mini bar. This was a bed and breakfast hotel, nothing more, and you should not have advertised it as anything else. Quite frankly, this was fraud. I have a Mercure hotel close to where I live and expected something similar. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

More a leisure than a business hotel

The hotel is in a good spot, the room / bathroom had a good size. Unfortunately, the WIFI was not working all the time throughout the hotel which is annoying when you are there for work. The service was very good, the staff friendly and the location is great for shopping / sight seeing and is well connected.

Can't praise this hotel highly enough!

Excellent hotel with friendly staff, great value for the money. Location is wonderful for everything from sightseeing to shopping to restaurants. (Also, if you're trying to minimize restaurant dining for health or budgetary reasons, there are two great inexpensive supermarkets on the block and a fridge in the hotel room.)

The hotel was dirty. The staff was rude and not helpful at all. The room smelled like urine. The bathroom tub was full of mold. It's a unfortunate bc the same hotel in Paris was wonderful. Location was good but that was the only thing positive. We left a day before bc we couldn't stand it. Very unwelcoming.

Would recommend for a visit to Berlin!

Our room was very roomy which was great for 4 people and our luggage. Air conditioning in the room was so nice! Conveniently located to shopping and restaurants and close to Hop On Hop Off bus tour stop. Parking next door at the Lidl was convenient and reasonably priced. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable, but the sleeper sofa was only okay in terms of comfort.

One I would recommend

I booked this hotel for a four night stay to visit the Christmas Markets. I was taking this trip with two of my sisters so we booked one room with three beds and we were extremely happy with it all. The hotel is right in the heart of the city, on a side street about one minutes walk from Kurfurstendamm. I couldn't have wished for a better position. The hotel is clean, modern and very comfortable and the price we paid thorough Expedia was incredible for this kind of hotel in this kind of location. I will definitely be staying there again!

very disapointing hotel. basic to say least,staff Rude and unhelpful.
rooms dirty, constant noise, signs of blood on carpet and upholstery.
they state that regarless of age they charge same per head, yet my 15 yo daughter, even though i paid for a room to steep 4, had to make do with a fold out settee. Basic is an ovestatement and worst hotel in germany ive ever come across. will never use the 'mercure ' brand again

Location was excellent. This hotel is close to everything. The facility was decent. Not top-of-the line in cleanliness but not awful. The room we occupied was comfortable and the view was fine. The tub was a little high, which was challenging to go in and out, especially if you are short. The staff, however, was worth the stay!! They exceeded our expectations with their friendliness, willingness to help and service their customers. Everyone we interacted with deserved the same 5-star rating. Overall a great experience, largely due to the staff. We will definitely use this facility again.

Comfy and wonderful stay

Mercure was very pleasant experience although this hotel is not in the middle of the city centre. Public transport is excellent so distance was not an issue. There is a supermarket next to the hotel and facilities are great. Staff seem a little unapproachable at first but are helpful with directions when asked.

We asked people has the option to extend the stay in the room after 12:00 for a few hours (eg to 6 pm) and the answer was 60 EURO-- heavily exaggerated price for almost a night per couple with breakfast.

I've previously stayed a couple of times at the Mercure on Luckenwalderstr. (a little closer to the city) and loved it. However, this one - which is a more recent addition to the Accor chain - isn't quite of the same standard, in my opinion, and certainly not worthy of 4 stars.

Don't get me wrong, it's nice enough: the rooms are fine, well-decorated and clean. It's just that the \"double\" bed is in fact two single mattresses and they develop a crevasse between them during the night; the curtains could be a foot wider so they reach both sides of the window; the desk has a drawer just where you want to put your legs, leading to bruised kneecaps; and the TV could be a little bigger. The Wifi seems to be decent but does drop out sporadically. There's only liquid soap in the bathroom which supposedly doubles as shampoo. There is a kettle but only tea - no coffee, so I popped next door and bought my own.

Having said all that, the bed is comfortable, the shower powerful and hot as you like, and there's ample storage, as well as a small fridge, a decent safe (which takes my 17\" laptop), and plenty of power sockets. The air-con works well and the double-glazing blocks all sound from the cobbled street below. I could, however, hear someone clomping around in the room above.

I particularly like the area: Ku'damm with its plethora of swanky shops; a wealth of decent restaurants, bakeries and cafés.

Not bad at all.

Good base for sightseeing

Booked 3 night short stay holiday combined with educational visits for eldest son's GCSE history studies. We were couple plus 14 year old & 11 year old boys all in one good sized 'superior' room which was clean. Breakfast was ok but quite expensive at €12 each (free for 11 yr old) so we only had it one morning & in any case we were eating late in evenings so no-one hungry first thing. Plently of restaurants & shops nearby (supermarket next door was useful for tea bags, coffee, milk, biscuits etc to stash in minibar fridge). Free, multiple device wifi kept boys happy when not out & about, location made it easy to get around - Zoological garden station only 15 minute walk or short bus ride away, hotel reception desk had Berlin AB zone transport tickets. No bar in hotel undortunately so other than sleeping, getting changed etc spent little time in room. Desk staff were helpful & there's an area available to store luggage on last day after check out. Lots to see & do in Berlin so as a base it worked well.

Excellent. Wish I could remember the young lady on the front desk, she was brilliant, wonderful and a true ambassador of Berlin. The rooms were clean, comfortable and did there job. If your in Berlin, get out of your room, that's why your there. The Wifi in Germany is brilliant on a paid network, don't expect much in any free Wifi Accomodation, although here worked most of the time, the every 3 hrs reconnection was a pain in the butt.

Only the smell is \" four stars\" !!!

No ventilation in the toilet !!!
Air conditioned in the room is infested ; gives you throat ache after Two hours; had to open the window and it is REALLY noisy outside at night.
It was said \" non smoking\" : it was obvious it has been smoking room before , that´s why for the first hours it smells so much agressiv detergent .
The mini- bar was empty , they said at the front desk they would fulfîll it next day...it is NOT a Four Stars!!!

Great location, helpful staff, clean room

I stayed there for eight nights during 1-9/7/2014, with my husband. The hotel is located just two minutes from Kurfürstendamm avenue, where you can find many stores and restaurants. You have two supermarkets in short walking distance, and public transportation - The Sabignyplatz S-bahn station, and Uhlandstraße U-bahn station- are five minutes away. The hotel is very clean, the staff members were very nice and helpful and we are very happy to have chosen this hotel.

Hotel close to shops, bus stops and subways

I liked Berlin. Berlin has a rich and interesting history. But I was very disappointed with AIR FRANCE. I have never had anything stolen from me but on the way back to Paris, the people around me stole a bottle of whisky I bought as a present to my brother. I knew that the people who surrounded me stole it because I definitely took it to the aeroplane but it disappeared together with the receipt. The only thing that I had left was my airline ticket which was in another back which I kept on my lap throughout the flight. It was a very traumatising experience. I flew with both air Canada and United airlines I have never had any such thing happening. So I really don't think I will fly with Air France again.

Hotel is very good and it is close to all the facilities you need from a short break. Across the hotel there is a store which sells everything you need. You can have the breakfast if you so wish. Hotel facilities are extremely good and the hotel is clean and tidy.

A good hotel for tourists

A quiet and friendly hotel, well located for tourists in an area full of restaurants, cafes and smart shops. There are S-Bahn and U-Bahn stations just a few minutes walk away.

The staff at reception were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a bit pricey at E12 a head so we used the local cafes, including two in supermarkets, one directly next to the hotel and another across the road.

Spacious, right off Kudamm

I stayed only one night at this hotel. While the exterior of the hotel certainly puts you off, the rooms more than make up for it. My room was spacious, with full desk, a small sitting area, and two twin beds; generally quiet but the walls are thin. Gleaming bathroom with funky marble flooring, all very clean; some stains in the carpet. My computer was dead and so I could not make use of the free wireless that had drawn me to book this hotel in the first place. There was however a computer in the lobby. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Room comes with a hot water cooker, tea, and tea cups, that was very convenient. There is a 24-hour convenience store down the block, a grocery store next door, and a coffee stand across the street, you can get cheap provisions steps away. This is why I did not purchase the 12 euro breakfast. The Ku'damm is one block away and you can catch a bus to go anywhere. A negative was that none of the drains in the bathroom appeared to function properly, water drained from the tub/shower and sink very very slowly. SInce my stay was so short, I did not mention this to the staff. Once they fix this plumbing problem, it will be a great place to stay. Newer hotel rooms are so much more cramped!

Nice hotel, in a good location - the single beds were comfortable; the additional bed placed in the room was not as comfy but was workable. It's great that the hotel is right above the supermarket!!! The air conditioning was not as cold as we would have hoped, and the drain for the shower didn't allow the water to go down very quickly - we asked, after our first night, if that could be fixed; didn't see a difference the rest of the time but didn't ask about it again either :). On the last night, we only got two sets of towels for three guests..... You need a card to turn on the electricity, and although we left it on whenever we left, it was always off when we returned, so items in the fridge didn't remain cold. Overall, though, we enjoyed ourselves there and would make another reservation for another visit.

Great location, value, and staff.

The design of the hotel was not as modern as I am used to, but overall my stay was very enjoyable. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, the location is perfect (close to many restaurants, transit, and tons of shopping), the breakfast was better than most hotel breakfasts, wi-fi is free, and they even have bikes to rent for a very affordable fee! I would probably stay here again. Great value.

Hello. We reached the hotel in Israel. We received a very large room, comfortable and cozy. The room was arranged every day and felt great to stay at the hotel. Excellent staff, some of them speak Hebrew and who share that helps with great love. Excellent hotel location (10 minutes walking from Kurfuerstendamm and there is also a bus line that comes to ZOOGALICHER)
Within 10 minutes the other side has the most serious jazz club amateurs (a Tram)
Id efinitely returned to the city, the region and the hotel

Das Hotel ist gut gelegen, um Konzerte im Olympiagelände zu besuchen. Es ist sauber, das Personal nett, aber leider auch etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Ich verweile gern da. Frühstück ist auch toll.

Soggiorno con amici

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo hotel per 3 notti, scelto per la posizione che ci permetteva di raggiungere in poco tempo l'olympiastation. Posizione comoda per i mezzi (S Bahn) e quartiere generalmente tranquillo.
La pulizia della camera durante il soggiorno ha lasciato a desiderare: hanno lasciato le tazzine sporche per tutto il soggiorno senza cambiarle e le tende erano un po' polverose. Il resto della stanza è il bagno erano ben puliti.
Nonostante fossimo in 3 persone hanno lasciato solo due tazzine, due bicchieri e due set per asciugamani di cui abbiamo dovuto richiedere un set aggiuntivo ogni sera.

Slidt og lidt kedelig hotel med god beliggenhed

Beliggenheder var meget god. Man kan parkere for 20 euro i Lidl ved siden af og for 3 euro/time på gade fra 9-22.
Rengøringen var fin.
Værelset meget slidt.
Morgenmaden en sag for sig. Agurkerne var allerede indtørrede ved morgenmadens start kl 6.30. Gammel og frisk ost blandet sammen. Lille udvalg af brød. Jævn kedelig buffet.
Der var ikke een gang personalet sagde goddag, farvel,smilede eller lignende. De var mænd af få ord. De var stort set heller ikke tilstede ved morgenmaden eller andre steder på hotellet. Det er ikke et hotel, jeg vil komme tilbage til, selvom vi ikke led nød. 4 stjerner på dette hotel er måske lidt i overkanten.

Hotellet var noget slidt, og lever bestemt ikke op til sine 4 stjerner.
Der var forfærdeligt med støj fra stedet ved siden af både fredag og lørdag nat.
Morgenmaden var ikke spændende, og der manglede hele tiden noget. Kaffemaskinen virkede ikke, så alle måtte drikke filterkaffe.
Rengøringen var mangelfuld, og der var snavset flere steder.
