Though it was not Hotel Augusta's fault that we had a heatwave during our four-night stay, they should have provided adequate air-conditioning. We could not use the old-fashioned air-con for very long because it was so noisy. Our room, though fairly large, was unbearably hot, and we were not even shown where to find the tiny fridge hidden in a cupboard that you could hardly open. There is no general sitting -room, which is odd in a 3-star hotel. The breakfast was good.

I booked 7 nights at the Hotel Augusta on a very decent price considering it was the last week of the Euro 24 Football Championship. I had no idea where I was in Berlin not having planned and simply booked anywhere to get a slice of the football experience. I couldn’t have been luckier. A really great location in the heart of Berlin, excellent and friendly staff, a super clean room and all facilities I needed for my stay. Easy waking distance (7 minutes) to the metro and overground train back to the airport and a whole range of shops restaurants and local architecture to wander around in between taking in the semi finals and final. The only thing I would add/change to the hotel facilities would be to have the television available in English to catch up on news or whatever is required. Beyond that small detail I will happily rebook the Hotel Augusta upon a return visit to Berlin without hesitation.

Old hotel, musty smell throughout. Bedrooms spread over a couple of buildings. No restaurants, bars apart from the small breakfast room. No foyets or common lounge areas. Very expensive hotel for room only (>€325 per night).

the only real trouble with this otherwise fine establishment is its accessibility. Shlepping a suitcase up and down 3 flights of stairs is not something anyone can do.
Breakfast is great and the location is perfect.
I have known this hotel for more than 15 years and will happily return.

Hotel Augusta is a wonderful small Hotel in the Center of Berlin.
Easy access to U-Bahn and buses. Just of the Kurfuerstendamm.
I first had a double room which was excellent, the last two nights I stayed in a single room. the room was small but nice, however the bed was uncomfortable. Too bed.
However, this could easily improved.
I would stay again at the Hotel Augusta.

Hotel was centrally located and near most facilities. Our room was spotlessly clean. We didn't have breakfast so I can't comment on the food. Staff were helpful printing me out a time table for the S Bann trains when I asked for advice on returning to the airport.

Hotel needs climate control units. Hot.

The location was great. We were lucky to get an air conditioned room on the third floor. It was very hot last week, and the corridors and the elevators were then very hot and stuffy and like saunas. Some rooms on the 4th floor had no working A/C, making them extremely warm. There was no real lobby in the hotel, so no visitors could drop by the hotel to meet with us there. We had to use two separate elevators to reach our rooms.

Great location!

Great location in a lovely area. We arrived early and left our luggage until the room was ready at 2pm. Stayed in a quadruple room which was always going to be a little bit of a squeeze but it wasn’t a problem. The rooms could do with another mirror outside the bathroom, all the other mirrors seem to be outside the room in the corridor. Happy with our stay and would recommend.

The Hotel was great, in a very good area, close to the U (less than 1 minute walk) and on the main shopping street.
The only uncomfort is that you have 15 stairs to the entrance (not an issue but for your attention).

Hot in Berlin

Odd floor plan. Needed to take two sets of stairs and two elevators to get to room. No AC in the room and only one window (do no draft) led to a very uncomfortable 80 degree night with no sleep. Hotel also had sewage issues, with sewage and sewer gas coming up out of sink.

A Beauty in Berlin

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Augusta. We were slightly worried after reading previous reviews about having to lug suitcases up the stairs but this was not an issue. There is a nice man, Joseph I believe, who escorted us to our room and took care of our luggage. All of the staff was very welcoming and friendly. The room was clean and spacious with plenty of in-room amenities. Very close access to public transportation, restaurants and shopping. We stayed here with our 2 children and all of us were satisfied and happy with our stay. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

The Augusta is just a few minutes walk from the Zoological train stop making it ideally placed to gain access to all parts of Berlin. Staff were helpful and the room was comfortable. Although the hotel as the benefit of a lift it wasn't always working and it doesn't reach all floors. This means you will have to negotiate some stairs including a flight of stairs as you enter the hotel. The all you can eat buffet style continental breakfast was of a good standard, plentiful and varied. I didn't include breakfast on my booking and instead paid €12 for it at the hotel. This seemed to represent good value especially when considering what you would get for the same money at a local cafe.

Hotel was clean, comfy, staff helpful and near restaurants, shops and metro. The hotel has a lot of character, high ceilings etc and we had a lovely balcony. The room also was warm and the heating was controllable. There was also a heated towel rail in the bathroom that we could switch on when having a shower. Even though there is a lift there are plenty of stairs, which did'nt bother us as we'd asked for a high floor. If not too mobile a lower floor should be requested. I would have liked coffee making facilities.

I stayed here for a week in late November. I hate franchise hotels - I always look for smaller traditional hotels with historical charm. Augusta fit the bill perfectly. The building (and the immediate neighborhood) looks pre-war war, which makes one wonder what it must have been like during that tumultuous period. Because the elevators were obviously added more recently, they don't line up with the floors; you have to lug your luggage up or down a half-story regardless of where you get off. But no worries if you're fit - that's part of Augusta's charm.

The smallest room I have ever stayed in. Be prepared to use the stairs cause the first two floors have no elevator. No view and not comfotable bedding. The area is fine if you want Gucci and Michael Kors. I would not stay again.

Very Happy with Choice in Berlin

Good location; easy to get to main sights via subway which was located very nearby. Staff was wonderful! Room was super clean and very cute (a pleasant surprise as they were much better than photos online - newly renovated). Common areas don't look like they have been renovated yet, but are still fine and clean. Restaurant next door is a must.

Byzantine room arrangement e..g , two separate lifts to negotiate, lots of doors and stairs, very difficult to manage with heavy luggage.

No instructions given as to the workings of heating, coffee machines etc. not aware that there was a telephone until the last day due to clutter. No replenishment of shower gels et.

We had a charming room ovelooking the coutyard. It was quiet enough that we were able to sleep off our jetlag. The location is stellar...close to public transportation and shopping.

Great stay!

We loved our stay at Hotel Augusta.The room was very comfortable and clean. The location was in the city centre, the train line was a walk across the road and within 15-20 mins of travel to all tourist attractions. As a plus, if you like shopping, the streets around had most of the branded stores that you hear of. Overall - nothing to complain.

Old fashioned, but clean hotel in a fantastic location. Two minutes walk from the Ubahn station, and right next to a major shopping street and tons of restaurants.

Staff was polite and spoke good English. My only faults were that the coffee machine in my room didn't work and there were no tea making facilities - but there's a Starbucks across the road so I survived.

Wonderfully located hotel with small,but charming and clean rooms. Three notes: 1)Anticipate having to carry your luggage up stairs. 2)Although Internet access is provided, speed is slow and I kept getting dropped and had to re-login every time I got dropped. 3) I had a problem at checkout with a clerk. It may have been a combination of her lack of knowledge of hotel procedures and language, but it delayed my getting to the airport and was an unpleasant end to my four-day stay.

This hotel was great for the price! Just off Kurfürstendamm (shopping district) and a short walk to Zoo or Tiergarten. The staff was helpful and courteous, though that varied a bit with who was working. Parking was affordable and we got a spot rot out front. My ONLY complaint is that the wifi was a bit weak in our room. But hey, you're in Berlin - get out and see something!

Wiederholt ist es mir bei Buchungen via EXPEDIA passiert, dass der Reisepreis nochmals in Rechnung gestellt werden sollte (trotz Vorkasse). Jedesmal wird lange gesucht bis am Ende ein Zahlungseingang gefunden wird. Unangenehm und zeitraubend. -
Die in der Buchung angegebene tägliche Zimmerreinigung wurde leider nur an 2 von 3 Tagen erledigt. Wurde auch nicht nachträglich erledigt; aber ein Handtuch wurde ausgehändigt. Ansonsten war es in Ordnung - ein paar freundliche Worte vom Personal wären sehr wünschenswert.
Bei der Abreise wieder Diskussionen wegen der Rechnung an der Rezeption und keine Frage, ob alles in Ordnung war. Man reist gerne wieder ab.

Hotellet ligger godt og sengen er god ig det er nydeligt indrettet, men der var mange trapper. Personalet i receptionen var ikke særligt hjælpsomt. Stuepigen dog fin. Balkonen var hegnet ind på grund af duer sikkert. Læselampen ved sengen var så lavt placeret at man ikke kunne læse i sengen.

Der Fahrstuhl war nicht vom Eingangsbereich zu erreichen,weil noch die Treppe ein Hindernis. Auch die Aufteilung ,wo welche Etage mit den zimmern ist war nicht so gut beschrieben.

Fantatiskt hotell med super trevligt bemötande vid ankomst.
Jätte fint rum för tre med fönster mot gården, sååå mysigt.
Bra läge i Berlin med shopping runt knuten om en är ute efter det men också efter en heldag på stan för att koppla av.
Bra restauranger både för frukost, lunch och middag precis i närheten.

Diesmal keine gute Erfahrung

Aufzug war defekt. Gepäck tragen war für mich als alte Person mit körperlichen Problemen sehr schwierig. Ich konnte nicht mal Hilfe vom Perdonal erhalten, da niemand das Telefon an der Rezeption bedient hat.
Im Zimmer Tablett mit einer Karte, dass das Wasser ein Willkommensgruß des Hotels sei; leider standen aber nur 4 leere Gläser auf dem Tablett und gar kein Wasser.
Wegen Bauarbeiten am Hotel direkt vor dem Zimmerfenster, wurde ich um kurz nach 8 Uhr bereits aus dem Schlaf geweckt.
Sonst stimmte immer das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Diesmal nicht. Schade!

Wunderbares Hotel in sehr guter Lage. Vom Flughafen gut zu erreichen. Hotel in ruhiger Lage in einer Seitenstraße vom Kuhdamm. Hohe Wände, alter klassischer aber auch moderner Stiel. Sehr freundliches Personal. In unserem Zimmer war unter anderem eine Infrarotkabine sowie ein Whirlpool vorhanden. Frühstück kann man für 17€ separat buchen, sportlicher Preis. Aber dafür bekommt man eine sehr gute und große Auswahl geboten. Alles wichtige und darüber hinaus vorhanden. Viele verschiedene Kaffeesorten. Gerne wieder!

Gemütliches Hotel im Herzen des alten Westberlin

Schöne Altbauunterkunft in der die Zimmer immer wieder nach und nach renoviert und modernisiert werden.
Hotelbar und Lobby sucht man vergebens, doch die Zimmer lohnen die Buchung. Keines ist wie die anderen, jedes ist ein Einzelstück.
Beim Wiederkommen zur Abwechslung also ein anderes Zimmer buchen - oder das gleiche, weil es einem so gut gefallen hat.
Erwähnenswert: Der immer freundliche Empfang an der Rezeption.

Ganz toller Aufenthalt. Großzügiges Zimmer und perfekt für uns mit Tochter. Sehr angenehmes Personal.
Das Einzige, was ich ändern würde wären die kleinen Plastikfläschchen im Badezimmer. Stattdessen große Spender für Schampoo, Conditioner, Duschgel.
Kann das Hotel bestens empfehlen!

Charmigt & prisvärt, men parkera ej på gatan

Vi är jättenöjda med hotellet, rummet och läget. Städningen lämnade lite att önska när det gällde badrummet, men ok. Oklart kring parkering, vi stod på gatan utanför efter att personalen hänvisat oss dit. Vi betalde i parkeringsautomaten på gatan och fick trots detta böter två av dagarna. Vi förstod inte vad som stod i boten, och gick till receptionen för att få hjälp att översätta men fick ett ganska nonchalant bemötande och ingen översättning (kan såklart berott på språkförbistring). Så var observanta om ni kommer med bil. Men överlag, ett mysigt och fint hotell, och i övrigt var bemötandet jättebra. Det kändes som mycket valuta för pengarna och vi kan tänka oss att komma tillbaka!

Godt hotel

Hyggeligt hotel med perfekt beliggenhed tæt på centrum og ubahn. Venlig og imødekommende personale. Vi har boet der flere gange og kommer gerne tilbage.

Einfaches Hotel mit Charme

Das Hotel liegt dicht beim Ku'damm in einer Seitenstraße in einem Altbau. Zur Rezeption geht es im schönen Treppenhaus. Ich kam nach 22 Uhr, hatte das angekündigt, und der Portier hat mich ausgesprochen freundlich eingecheckt. Das Zimmer war völlig ok, geräumig, Zimmer und Bad waren sauber und das Bett sehr bequem. Es lag am ruhigen Innenhof, ich konnte also das Fenster auflassen. Ich komme wieder.
Beim Ein- und Auschecken habe ich den Frühstücksraum gesehen, er sah sehr ansprechend aus. Ich meide aber Frühstücke im Hotel und bin zwei Häuser weiter ins Café vom Literaturhaus gegangen.

Familienurlaub mit Jugendlichen

Neues modernes und sehr sauberes Zimmer, WLAN im Zimmer schwach, im Hauptgebäude aber perfekt. U-Bahn direkt vor der Tür. Sehr freundlicher Empfang. Gerne wieder für einen Kurztripp in Berlin.
