The room was fine, although a bit dated. Parts of the room needed replacing (wooden paneling around the sink). There was also mould in the shower. Overall, it’s fine, but shabby. Housekeeping knocking on our door at 9:30, on a Sunday, and on our check out date wasn’t great either.

No shampoo in shower dispenser and dispenser defective on arrival. Took hotel staff 3 days into my 4 night stay to fix the problem. No iron in room. Hotel front desk has 1 iron for the entire hotel. I asked for it on day 2 of my stay, never got it.

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in Berlin. The great location doesn’t make up for the fact that one of the lifts is not working, and both clearly need maintenance. Staff not friendly. AC not working in the room and judging by the queue of people complaining the 3 times I visit reception, it is a well known issue. Breakfast is also pretty below basic and not worth the charge in my view.

We booked two suites over Christmas and wow they are huge!! They were clean and felt luxurious. Bed was large and comfy, as we're the sofa beds. So large we had our own dance floor hehe Hotel is a 2 minute stroll to the nearest underground station. Restaurants all around and we had the best stay we could have asked for.

Long weekend for Weihnachtsmarkt in Berlin.

When visiting Berlin on a regular basis we always stay in The Hollywood Media Hotel on the Kurfurstendamm. On this occasion there were no vacancies so after a quick search around the Best Western Plus Plaza was a very good replacement as it is almost next door and the location is simply fabulous.

The room was comfortable and clean, if a little quirky with the sink and washing area outside the bath/shower room. The reception is on the 1st floor which is accessed via a two way escalator (up and down, cool). The lifts are also a design feature with an automatic folding closing gate.

We stayed B&B and the breakfast was fantastic and served from 7am to 11am.

Nothing wrong with this hotel and the location close to the Zoo/Blue Church/Europa Centre is ideal. The Kurfurstendamm is lined with High End Designer shops such as Rolex, Prada, D&G and DKNY.

Don't be followed by the entrance area downstairs with the dated and sexist art - or the rather dated looking lobby. The rooms are modern (and large) and well set out. The breakfast was very high quality - except for the coffee. Lots of good eating options nearby, not far from public transport. A group of us stayed there for a conference at CubeCity, and were very pleased.

Very good position on Kurfürstendamm. We had an enormous room / suite with 2 bathrooms ( a bit odd), however no view. It was at the back of the building which was good for sleeping. Good WiFi. Few TV channels in English. Kettle, tea and coffee provided. Staff at Check in and Check out were friendly and efficient. Air conditioning did not appear to work in the room however when we asked about this it was sorted.

Somehow we ended up with a room with a double bed, 4 tein beds and a pullout couch. Others in our group needed a cot for their 8 year old. We would gladly have traded rooms, but we arrived very late in the evening, and all were already asleep. It was fine fir us, but seemed like maybe rooms were not assigned in the best possible way...

The positive part: Front desk/staff was friendly, our room faced the main street but was quiet when windows were closed, hotel location was excellent, easy to get to restaurants, shopping, etc. Computer station at reception for printing documents worked fine.
Not so positive part -- air conditioning only worked to a certain point then stopped; wifi spotty; room lacking a refrigerator (which is pretty standard in most hotels); housekeeping - super late, and inconsistent with what they cleaned; phone for wake up call -- not receiving calls although the front desk did call.
Overall -- Best Western will need to up their game, especially if they are trying to attract business travelers.

Air conditioning didn't work despite several attempts to inform the reception. Unbearable and unlivable, pungent like conditions in the room despite having called the concierge multiple times through the day. Wouldn't recommend staying here. I got stumped by the high customer rating too, but wouldn't consider staying at a Best Western ever again.

The hotel itself was ok with spacious room and tea kettle. The free Wifi was good. A secure bag holding room was very useful. However, double beds are two singles with single covers and single duvets, so not a double. The double glazing doesn't stop the noise from the main road (it's a very noisy road) or the demolition of the concrete building next (starts 7am) with pneumatic drills destroying the concrete vibrating through the block. Hotels.com and the Hotel didn't pre-warn about that or the noisy event outside setting up till 3am with scaffolding thrown on pavement etc. Breakfast is E17!

Absolutely miserable hotel. Not even worthy of 1-star. Seedy and poorly-lit rooms, no fridge, hair dryer didn’t work, no soap or shampoo, there was absolutely nothing good about this hole except the location. Best Western should be ashamed for associating their name with this dump. Avoid this place place at all costs.

Nice overall 3 week trip to Madrid Sevilla Granada and last week in Munich and Berlin .. all hotels great, except this one.. they need to improve cleanliness, smells, curtains that are short and do not black out, Paid for 4 nights and checked out next day .. happily found a good option closeby .. didn’t work for us unfortunately.. no refund either , lost US$500.. but fortunately were able to enjoy our 1st time visit to Berlin when we found good alternative Hotel .. building looks good , pictures look good etc , but they need to do a better job .. could certainly be improved with more attention to basic but important details .. cleaning, sanitation, deodorizing... we’re frequent travelers and we’re easy going, but this time we couldn’t love the place . the drop that overflowed our patience was no hot water our 1st night ( in the email we received from the hotel manager she dos apologize for that .. it had been an emergency with some construction nearby which broke down the hot water system).. we simply lost our intent to love the hotel and quietly and super politely checked out and happily checked in into a beautiful delightful hotel .. about the same price .. (except for the lost and not refunded $500 for the unused 3 days ).. Expedia did the best they could , and happily booked again with Expedia the new hotel we chose ... I sincerely wish well to this best western in Berlin .. I hope they improve etc ... sincerely , Gustavo Ríos

Reception staff were untrained and unhelpful. Checked in Friday to be told there was no tv throughout hotel and wouldn’t be all weekend - this information only being offered after they had taken full payment off card Had breakfast on one morning decidedly average on checkout only words spoken by receptionist was Keys and csrd or cash when I was paying for forgettable breakfast. Room service not much better - had to request change of towels after 2 days. Tea and coffee never replenished. Hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy, never 4 star more like 2 star +. Good central location

Hotel staff were not very interested in receiving guests; we had to make our presence known.

Room was not ready because we were early, but after we came back after the designated check-in time we still had to wait a further 15 minutes.

Our door key card was not working so we took it to the reception to fix, but apparently they needed ALL our key cards to reset the codes to be the same. Not quite sure why they couldn't just issue new ones and ask us, the guests, to return the original ones at our convenience.

After settling into the room, we were startled by someone from the hotel entering our room with a key card - without knocking. Apparently they thought it was empty and just barged in. She did apologise, but not sure why they didn't check on the system who was already allocated a room?

Housekeeping did not speak any English accept to knock and say \"housekeeping\". Made it very hard to communicate for an international brand to not have the basics.

There were many employees there but none seemed inclined to engage with the guest or have any kind of customer service at all. Guests do not seem very important here. Very disappointed in a \"PLUS\" Best Western range. I've had better service from a regular Best Western that was not a PLUS. Having the plus made it even more glaring how far behind and lacking it was compared to Best Western (non plus range).

This hotel is in a perfect location. Subways, bus stations, restaurants, bars are at walking distance. Moreover: you don't need to take a taxi to go to the airport from this hotel. Across the street you can take the bus 109 and it will take to the airport. Also, the staff is very helpful and professional.

The staff is very professional and friendly. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars around this location. There are also a train and a metro a station nearby the hotel. We spent five days in Berlin and we never had to take a taxi. Not even to go to the airport.

Nothing outstanding about this hotel despite its 4-star rating. More like an excellent 3.5-star. With that said, for me, as long as the mattress is bedbug free and comfortable, the TV has enough channels and wifi connection is free and strong in the room, it's great. The BW Plus Amedia fit the bill perfectly.

My second tier criteria is the location in relation to the main attractions, public transport, and restaurants. The Amedia once again prevails as the U-Bahn Uhlandstrasse station is about 200 meters away. The S-Bahn station, Savignyplatz, is also only about a 5-9 minute walk from the hotel. The food around the hotel area was excellent too! Lots of places about 3 blocks away along Bleibtreustrasse, not to mention a ton of other eateries that looked good in a five block radius from the hotel. There's also a 24-hour convenience store around the corner from the main entrance of the Amedia.

As for the El Dorado steakhouse that's affiliated with the Amedia, that was the only extremely disappointing part, although not really the hotel's fault. Steak was dry despite ordering it medium done; fries were rock hard; dessert was incredibly stale. The waiter was apathetic and awful too, and I don't think it was due to him having a bad day. That was just his personality. I got much friendlier encounters with German border officers at the airport than this waiter.

Housekeeping and the attendants were friendly too, as were the front desk receptionists. 4.5/5 overall rating from me.

We loved it!

First of all checking in the girl couldnt find our names which scared me however the guy then found my name and from then onwards everything was perfect! We stayed on the second level and room was a bit squished! If we had hold-luggage we would have not been able to fit this in the room comfortably however we only had hand luggage so it was fine! Room was made up perfectly everyday and hotel service was fab! Hotel is right beside the main station to get to the airport which was great! Just one train and you were there! Right beside the U Bahnn too which is exactly what you need to get everywhere, I'd recommend google maps and plan journeys ahead just because I didnt find it very well signposted, however everything was great about Berlin with how central this hotel is! Also right beside the zoo and aquriam which are both also great. Overall fab experiance.

Hotel was overall good. Located on a nice street with lots of shopping and dining options. Access to the U-Bahn is one block away. Room was bigger than normal. we did have an issue when checking out. The hotel offers a decent breakfast bar. We were quoted 8,50€ per person by the restaurant staff and even signed a room charge slip for that price. When we checked out at 5:30am the front desk guy charged us 17,00€ per breakfast for a total of 68,00€ . When we disputed our charges he refused to change the total. I then asked to see my room charge receipts and he said they were not available. I then asked for a receipt for our whole stay. It took him almost 10 minutes to print one. It almost felt like he was \"doctoring up\" the room charges to match what he charged us. There is no way this breakfast should cost 17,00€! Shady!

Away from a lot of the tourist stuff

but with Berlin excellent public transport system nothing is far away. Hotel served the purpose of somewhere warm and safe to Base our holiday from. Plenty of shops and restaurants about. Supermarket other side of road. Bus and rail/subway close at hand. Staff helpful. Room was a good size, warm with windows opening for air. Would definitely stay again.

Nice hotel near everything!

Great hotel, on a beautiful street with lots of shops. The bus stop and subway are 3 minutes from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean and had a nice view of the side street which was quiet.The breakfast was pricey at 17 euro, so we chose to eat out. This was the second time I stayed there and will again, because of the location! Make sure to visit SavignyPlatz which is across the street.

Perfect stay for shopping!

Stayed over the weekend for a stag do. They provided 3 single beds. Wifi was strong and air con was good in the blazing summer sun. Loads of designer shopping on the street, and it's just a short walk to the nearest U bahn or S bahn. It had a weird escalator that went both ways on one walkway - so sometimes we were waiting a long time for it to change direction.

Amazing hotel in a fantastic neighbourhood. Everything is on the doorstep: shopping, local transportation, great places to eat and have a pint or two. Wonderful staff, carering, attentive to guests' needs. The only improvement that would benefit the hotel is to have a list of tv channels in the room.

Nice hotel close to an underground stop

This is a nice hotel close to an underground stop and the shopping area of Berlin . There's also a nice restaurant in the same building.

Arrived at 10 pm and greeted by a very friendly manager who gave us a discount token for next door's Spanish restaurant. We were made to feel really welcome.

everything in the photos is like the room. room was ok
