A real old world charmer. Room was huge, bathroom ‘in a closet’ was small but comfortable for us. The location perfect for exploring C’burg, Zoo, Ku’damm, etc, etc. 10 minute walk from a main rail and U-bahn hub; 5 minutes from several U-bahn lines.

Upon arrival the paintwork is quite tatty around the entrsnce. 1st impressions matter. The hotel is VERY quirky...a bit likexThe Addams Family. Very dark, almost black painred walls and very datk coloyrs. A bit too sinister for my liking but others may like this.Room very tired. Although clean we did find hairs on the sheets. Pillows were saggy and not comfortable. Having said all of this, the location was very good. It might be good for other people but not us.

Great location near Kurfuerstendamm and central Berlin. Excellent breakfast, and the Abendbrot light evening meal which is offered is very nice. I had a quiet room facing the planted area of a courtyard and that was wonderful. Above all, it was the very friendly and helpful staff that helped me have a great stay there.

Hotel Henri is a cute boutique hotel in a busy touristy area of Berlin. The notable positives: staff are very kind and attentive to needs of guests. The room had very cool antique decor and a neat vintage aesthetic. Came with a neat writing desk and postcards to send home. The notable negatives: The rooms (at least ours) had some design flaws, particularly the bathroom. The bathroom was built as an interior addition within the room, up on a platform (not marked with any bright tape), and my partner stubbed her toe multiple times. The shower door didn't close and leaked all over the floor every time. Closing the blinds meant cutting the room off from windows completely and losing any fresh air. Minibar door didn't appear to close completely. The room didn't come equipped with a fan (during the summer heat) but the staff were more than happy to provide one!
I think our biggest disappointment was the surrounding neighborhood which is kind of akin to Times Square in NYC (i.e. busy and boring), but the hotel's very unique design and wonderful staff made up for that.

Fabulous quaint hotel perfectly placed near the Kudamm. Staff very friendly and breakfast excellent. The only problem is there is no chest of drawers in the bedrooms but plenty of hanging space. I would definitely stay here again.

Absolutely loved it, can’t fathom why it isn’t a 9.5 already. It’s a GORGE old building beautifully restored, feels like a fancy home not a hotel, and they have thought of every convenience and comfort. Just loved the character of the building, rooms were very comfy with a lovely open wardrobe space. And these gorgeous secret staircases which are just a delight, truly never took the lift because the maroon staircase was just *chefs kiss*. Adored the hotel, going back to Berlin cannot imagine staying anywhere better. Highly recommend, especially if you like a classic hotel. Oh and they have their own dog too! I mean what else can you want.

The property itself is unique and historical. It is a classical building with tall ceiling. I had the room that looks exactly like the picture for half of my stay and the other half I was moved to another room because both heaters were down for service. The configuration is different obviously but just about the same space.
The breakfast was served till 11 - plenty of leisure time.
Self-serve and log papers are there for the guests to have tea, coffee, wines, beer all day Long. Pretty nifty.

The Henri Hotel was absolutely fabulous. It's a wonderful boutique-style hotel in a very central, and lively party of the city of Berlin. We arrived in Berlin relatively early in the morning- and because of all the time zone changes- we decided to push our luck and try to check in early. Not only were they accommodating, but they had a beautiful room all ready for us. It was the little details in the room that made everything so comfortable- the plush bed, the big closets and the charming bathroom with heated floors. I would also recommend the breakfast- which is served buffet style in the most gorgeous kitchen. The front desk workers were extremely helpful with talking about the area and giving us tips on what to do. Overall, I would 100% come back here if Berlin ever crosses my path again.

I visit Berlin for work and try to stay here each time. It is an unusual hotel that they are going for an old fashioned decor but still the modern comforts are there. Each room has it's own character. Hotel staff also really nice. I think its delightful!

The hotel was in a very nice location with easy access to public transportation and next to the shopping district. The KaDeWe shopping center and the C/O Berlin gallery where close by and worth visiting. I picked this hotel because of the interior design and it was as lovely as I had imagined. The room was a bit small but for one person it was OK. Nicely decorated with comfortable bed and big windows. The only negative was that I could hear all the loader noises from the neighbor room and the hall, which woke me up during the night. Some of the things at the hotel could have been also explained better since there wasn't a lot of staff around so for example, I wasn't sure when the bar was open etc. There also wasn't information sheets at the room so I had to look up some things from their webpage. Still, I definitely recommend it and I will book it again for my next visit to Berlin.

The hotel is beautifully designed and restored and it is obvious the management cares for it to be a fashionable place. The room was perfect. The hotel undergoes some renovations so whoever is sensitive to paint smell like my friend was, it is probably not the right moment to stay there. However they took care of our special request to print a huge amount of documents and the breakfast was great. The night receptionist was hilariously strict.

This was my first trip to Berlin and I was travelling alone. I was looking for a convenient and safe location at a fair price. This hotel met that requirement, after changing rooms ( the first had a shared balcony). In addition, I was pleasantly surprised by the nostalgic, well maintained environment which included a lovely evening lounge event with refreshments.
The hotel was having exterior renovation at the time of my stay, which obstructed what would have otherwise been an attractive view of the side street location. I suspect the good rate may have taken this into consideration.

What a nice hotel to stay in!
I loved this hotel. It is a listed building that has just been redecorated in keeping with its original style. Romantic and beautiful. The staff were helpful, friendly and looked good! The hotel was a few minutes walk from the centre of town but was in a quiet street with restaurants and a supermarket.

Recently returned from a three night stay, All the staff at the hotel were polite and welcoming especially those on reception. The hotel was in an excellent position close to restaurants and Ku'damm street where the sightseeing buses stop. Breakfast was varied and of a excellent quality, and the room was spotless.

They are undergoing major refurbishment. Scaffolding outside the windows and workman early in the morning and if window left open concerns about security. i am a loyal client to Expedia and in most cases i relay on Expedia's rating on hotels . this was the total opposite from what you advertising . i strongly suggest your client to do more homework when it comes to choosing hotels . this was the worst hotel i ever stayed in Berlin. i paid the price of a 5 didn't get even 2 stars and this is entirety Expedias fault on rating this hotel . you turned a vacation to a nightmare.

Nice little hotel on a quiet street, yet a stones throw away from the hussle and bustle of Zoologischer Gartens.
Lots of great restaurants around a short walk gets you a bus or train anywhere around Berlin. 20min bus to the airport as well.

There was a lot of building work going on and the smell of paint was at times overpowering. Dust in the room was also a nuisance. Water leaked on to the floor from the shower cubicle. Wet floor.

We arrived at midnight to find the building shrouded in scaffolds to the exterior which made it difficult to spot. When we entered the building everything was covered in dust. The staff were lovely and apologetic. The main elevator did not work. We had to detour through construction to get to our room on the third floor.
This hotel was sold as a 4 star property on Expedia and the website did not indicate the extent of the construction. The hotel was not noisy which was a blessing. The room had a very small bathroom with a shower - soap dispensers were on the verge of being empty and not refilled until our 4th day. Water in room not replaced daily.

Booked the hotel through hotels.com for a romantic break. We arrived and found scaffolding up the outside of the buildings and were disappointed to have to walk over half pulled up carpets to the reception. The hotel was under renovation.
The service from the staff was good and they were all more than happy to help and were friendly and could speak in various languages.
The room was quite old fasioned, an unrenovated room, but our walk there was obstructed by ladders in the hallway, workers, stray chairs and workers' tools. There was a strong smell of paint and glue and the ceiling was missing tiles.
Outside our room was more scafolding and had workers outside our room - not so good for a romantic break! Fortunately the curtains were good quality, however, the room was hot and had no temperature controls or air conditioning, only an opening window, which loudened the sound of the drilling and hammering outside.

Hotel Residenz - 22nd - 26th July
I chose this hotel for a long weekend break in Berlin. I did not want to spend it in a modern hotel and wanted something with character which this hotel has. Unfortunately it was still undergoing renovation due to being taken over by new management and the Hotel will have a new name from August on wards to the Hotel Henri hence why I have only given a score of 3. The staff in the hotel excellent and very helpful the breakfast was good, the rooms comfortable and clean but there was not air conditioning so hot in the evening whilst trying to sleep. The Hotel is in a quite street and very close to U-Bahn so travel whilst in Berlin was very easy. There is a selection of very good eateries close by with the Hard Rock Café at the end of the street. We will definitely look to stay here again if we go to Berlin again. The only down side is that in the major tourist area there are pick-pockets which my Wife nearly fell foul of so ensure you can lock your bags whilst wondering around.

Old world ambience enhances the travel experience, unlike cookie-cutter new hotels. Has a real neighborhood feel on a quiet side street, yet very close to a wide variety of dining options. Also a mere few blocks from rail access that will get you all over town rapidly. Didn't try the breakfast, but the breakfast room looked very nice.
