We had a terrible experience. We paid for a more expensive room so we could have a balcony, but we got a room without one. The supervisor refused to refund us for the difference and offered a complimentary breakfast instead, or to cancel our booking (suggesting we look for a different hotel). Only after a long and heated debate, he agreed to refund the room price difference. No compensation was offered for not fulfilling our reservation, and the supervisor claimed it's Hotels.com fault for selling a room that is not available.
The room we got was very basic and not well-maintained or decorated.
Very cheap furniture, a stained carpet, a nearly empty soap/shampoo dispensers (which weren't topped up during our stay), no bedside table or additional chair, and to top it all off, the room wasn't properly cleaned.
The room itself faced an inner yard, and below our window was a table and chairs where staff would chat and smoke very late at night. That made us wake up several times at night to the sounds of talking and the smell of cigarette smoke. We repeatedly asked those night shift people to keep it down, and had to shut our window, to reduce the noise and smell.
We complained twice at reception, and after two sleepless nights, it stopped.
Housekeeping was subpar; the housekeeper wouldn't clean the room before 1 pm, and even then, cups were never washed, there was no supply of toilet paper or coffee, and the floor remained dirty. They only arranged the bed and emptied the bin.

We had to check out early given safety concerns, mainly. My family and I only stayed for 1 night even tho we paid for 2 nights. Upon arrival and check-in our room number was shouted loudly so that everyone in the lobby could hear (we were or at least told we were the only ones on the 4th floor) Elevator allows for 1 person and 1 bag only

As we walked into the room, we noted one of the windows was WIDE open (windows opened inward therefore an entire person or several people could easily come through the roof into our room. Given this, we checked all spots in the apartment - to which we found the bathroom window was also open. We also found a phone holder in one of the showers…..

The front desk did come up immediately and fix it. However, at around 12-12:30AM until 2:30-3AM we heard banging, running around, talking, clanking, etc. almost sounding as if someone broke in and was raiding the hotel as doors were slamming shut. Given we didn’t have a peep hole we didn’t know what was going on and under no circumstance did we want to open the door for obvious reasons……….

The showers leaked EVERYWHERE - yes both there was absolutely no barrier even with the shower closed.

We informed the front desk when we checked out the next day around 3PM where we were informed 3 interns were actually also staying on our floor and that is who most likely was making the noise.

There was no deadbolt on the door. Very few towels. No silverware.

This completely ruined our 2 day stay in Cannes&ha

Great deal, central location, beautiful decor

Centrally located right beside the Cannes train station - makes daily travel across the Cote d'Azur so much easier. The whole hotel is smartly and warmly decorated, the staff very friendly. The room I had was slightly small but perfect for a solo/ couple stay. The balcony however looked out on to the main road so it can get quite noisy in the mornings/ weekend evenings.

The location is perfect! The train station is right across the street and all the shopping and beach access is walking distance.
Overall the hotel was clean and peaceful and most staff were friendly and helpful!
The washroom is tiny and the room is pretty small, but not a big deal as we were only in the room at night. I would definitely stay here again!

As you reception area you find it is clean and the furnishings are neutral. The lady at the reception was welcoming her name was Iris. We stayed in room 211 for 2 nights, the first night was noisy because there is a late night food place opposite the room and people where very loud till late. Also the bed linen has a rip. They don't clean the rooms daily. There is complimentary water in the room. Coffee machine and kettle. Mini fridge with drinks. And a safe to store your valuables. We had a bath with shower head, pressure was perfect and plenty of hot water. It is a clean lovely hotel. We will be back as the location is perfect as it's opposite Cannes train/ bus station.

Le point positif de l’hotel est le personnel. Ils sont souriant, serviable. Le décor de l’hôtel fait peur et ça sent fort. Ils m’ont envoyé un email pour me dacturer 5 euro pour une bouteille d’alcool que je n’ai pas touché. Ils devront compter les bouteilles et donner une liste de bouteilles contenu dans le refrigerateur. Sinon on peut etre facturé sur n’importe quoi.
La chambre était trop petite, le climatiseur juste en haut du lit.
À part le personnel et la proximité de la gare il n’y a malheuresement de points positifs

This is by far the worst hotel actually motel, I booked it for my birthday through Expedia and was very excited to have a trip for a weekend to celebrate my birthday in Canne, I paid 1000 for 3 nights and I expected yo have a great hotel a 4 star hotel like they claim,
As soon as I got there I realized it was basically a scam, an old dirty motel pretending they are a 4 star luxury hotel, I called for parking they ask me yo self park at the train station and they $15 s day( we had to drag our suitcases to the hotel, the street is very busy and has a lot of homeless people drinking alcohol near the hotel, women was asking us to give her money and actually followed us the whole way which felt a bit unsafe at times, we were ok no worries ( not a 4 hotel perfect location however we kept an open mind)
We arrived the receptionist took our card for taxes since I prepaid, I looked around and saw a small cart that had few bottles of booze and next it was a s card saying Bar/ lounge, then I looked a the decor so outdated and nothing like the pictures.. we go in the first thing I saw was dirt everywhere, red spots on the white sheet, bathroom has still marks of poop from previous guest, water marks on the wall and it looked like it! I called Expedia and was told that the person that is in charge of refund wasn’t there and had to wait till Monday, ait was really very hard to find another hotel and on Monday they didn’t want refund anything.
Stay away from this nightmare! Shame

The only positive is being close to every thing. Outdated, old and backward no sense of safety standards and leaving the “key” each time you leave is 40 years ago.
The lady who cleaned the rooms was very nice front desk was hit or miss. Not worth the money I paid. I almost call hotels com to cancel and book myself something else but I didn’t have time to stay on hold for 5 hours to talk to them

The staff were friendly and helpful but unfortunately the hotel was not up to standard. The walls were thin and we could here everything going on in the room next door to us. And the outside of the building was full of scaffolding and looked like a building site. Presentation could have been better.

Very close to the train/bus station although google Maps will take you a long winded path to it when it is in fact it is across the street when you exit the station. Not more than 1 minute. The room is small, clean and with ammenities that rivals high end hotels.

Very friendly staff who keep the reception going 24 hours and they are very friendly with organising an early morning taxi to the airport.

Nice Boutique Hotel With A Fantastic Staff

This is a very nice hotel that has a cute design aesthetic and a superb and helpful staff. It conveniently located across from Gare de Cannes which is the main bus station. While there is the related noise that brings, the hotel more than makes up for it with their service and hospitality. We were exhibiting at the Palais des Festivals and it was a very short walk for us each morning. The morning breakfast was a welcome addition and helped streamline our days. Highly recommended.

We choose hotel Colette because we were getting in on the train quite late after a very long travel, across from the station and very easy to find. We found the staff very professional and easy to communicate with. The room we booked on line like always not sure what we would actually get we under booked justin case we were not happy, we ended up very impressed with our room and service we extended our stay. We found this location perfect for us as to get to the beach we had to walk past all the shops and cafe's etc. and then back on the way back as well as being central. We would recommend Colette to ALL staying in Cannes and would stay again.

Nice hotel, walking distance to anywhere along the most well known shopping street and the beach. I would recommend it again to a friend. Keep in mind this is not a 5 star hotel, you pay what you get but it is decent for 2-3 nights stay while visiting and living the city downtown life while you are in Cannes. I would come back and stay in this hotel again.

Hotel Colette is surprisingly quiet given it is right opposite the station. Location is excellent, with the seafront only 10 minutes away too. Monoprix supermarket was more or less next door. Staff were very friendly. Air conditioning was very effective during the heatwave!

This hotel is a gem to discover. The service was great, staff helpful and courteous. Rooms are clean, nicely decorated but rather small n size. The bed is in the way of the bathroom door preventing the door from fully opening. This was a minor inconvenience however. The hotel is conveniently located across from the main train station and is less than 5 minute walk to the beach areas. Near shopping, food and restaurants, I would stay there again and strongly recommend it.

Cannes is a compact city. The hotel is a little bit away from the sea shore, but it's just a five-minute walk. Rue Antibe is very close. The station is in front of the hotel and so is the bus terminal.
The room was very clean and confortable. Bathroom is also clean. Air conditioner works good.

Conveniently located to the train station and everything in Cannes. The staff was very helpful and friendly, they let us leave our bags since we arrived before check in and also helped us organize a voucher for the beach. The lobby and halls had an odd smell but room was fine, would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had booked this hotel because parking was advertised. However, when we got to the hotel, the parking structure was not connected to the hotel as we had thought, and instead was a few hundred meters away. We let the hotel staff know that having parking advertised on expedia was misleading. The hotel staff apologized for this and even made up for the inconvenience by giving us a room upgrade. The rest of our stay was extremely pleasant and we really enjoyed our room with the balcony!

Lovely Staff but Not a 4-Star Hotel

The first thing I would say is that the staff in this hotel were really nice, friendly, helpful and professional. Having said that, this hotel is not of anew overall standard I would expect of a 4-star. The bathroom door in our room didn't shut properly, the air-conditioning only seemed to have 1 setting, although a reasonable selection, the food quality at breakfast was average at best. Having said all of that, I guess the price gave it away. The quality of the hotel was commensurate with the price. I would have had to have paid more to get real 4-star quality.

Great location, walking distance to everything!

The hotel is right across from the train station so you ca walk across the street with your bags. Check in was fast and everyone at the hotel was lovely. The rooms are very tiny but are very cute. We had a lovely small patio where we could step outside.
My only complaint was that there was a lot of noise on the street and you could hear it all night long. Maybe some better windows would cut down on that.
When we checked in the internet was down and told it would be a few hours ... we were not hopeful as we have travelled many places who have said that and it never works our entire stay. In this case... the internet was up and working within 2-3 hours!

Dated hotel that has Bad Oder issues in the room

Hotel Staff where very friendly and Polite upon arrival they showed us to our room and explained the facilities available. The Room however was dated (except the Bathroom which was recently refurbished) and had a pungent Oder as soon as the door was opened not sure where this was coming from but must have been the Carpet in my opinion. It was extremely poor to have to put up with this type of Bad Oder and spoiled what could have been a decent stay. The location is noisy first thing in the mornings and is above the retail shopping district. Breakfast was only adequate and not worth the extra if you bought this option on arrival. All in all I left disappointed and would not stay there again.

Overall I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Colette. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Although the first room I was given was nice, it was freshly painted, and I had an issue with the fresh paint smell as I was allergic to it - yet I was promptly given a new room that I enjoyed. The location is directly opposite the train station, which is very convenient and very close to all the shops and a short walk to the coastline.

I was only in the hotel for one night and for a total of 9 hours so only a small impression but it was a good one! Lovely comfortable room, softest sheets ever! Nice, varied breakfast. Only small gripe was the wifi was cripplingly slow. Regardless, would recommend.

The internet was not really accessible in the our room, the water did not go through in the bathroom properly. The location was very good with lots of bars and restaurant around it. The room was bright and comfy but no kettle available to make hot drink anytime you want. the roadwork in front of the hotel made us wake up really early morning. but anyway, the price was really reasonable.

getting there was a challenge as extensive roadworks were underway. We had to phone the hotel for another address as our GPS could not locate the road. With the combination of heavy traffic and roadworks, we took 2 hours to travel 2kms.
Hotel Collette is funky with helpful staff and an excellent breakfast. It's central position makes for easy walking around Cannes and a short walk to the rail station.

Perfect boutique hotel in the heart of Cannes

Great quality-price ratio. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect location, walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. we only stayed for 1 night but it was ideal for us. Excellent & friendly service from all staff. My emailed requests were accommodated and the hotel also booked us 2 sun loungers at Le Royal beach. Our room was slightly larger than expected (after reading some reviews) but we were in a corner room on the top floor. Great location although the station is undergoing major building work so during the day it is busy and noisy however very quiet at night so no issues.

Great stay at Colette!

The hotel was located right across the train station, very easy to find! The staff were very accommodating and polite. They had great advice about where to eat too! :)
Even when I left my jacket in the hotel, they emailed to ask whether I would like to have it sent to me. Overall, excellent service!! :)

Friendly helpful staff, clean and updated rooms. Good location to access train and walk to Cannes attractions. Some construction on lower floors but did not disturb us.

Find another Hotel .

The room was very small and hallway was really smelly. The walls of the room were thin and we were able to hear all night the neighbors either going to the bathroom in their room or doing their staff. This is by far the worst hotel we stayed. This is not even a 2 star hotel. Find another hotel for your vacation and you will be better off..

Not a true 4 star....

Pros: Friendly staff (especially men at the front desk), very central location in Cannes (slightly seedy, maybe not great for families), decent breakfast

Cons: Pictures of the room were not representative of what we stayed in, very tiny rooms and bathrooms, rooms look tired, had to ask for more toiletries and more toilet paper, rooms smell of mildew, hallways have a very pungent fragrance that is perhaps in place to cover the smell of the mildew?, list of ridiculous charges if you break anything (ie: 450 euros for a lamp) I have never ever seen this in any hotel.....

** I made the mistake of leaving my wallet out on the first day and 20chf went missing. I'm confident that the money was there as I took an exact amount expressly for the purpose of paying our pet sitter upon our return. The hotel, of course, denied any wrongdoing but do beware. Always lock everything up. Obviously there are sticky hands....**

convenient location with a reasonable price

Arriving at the hotel was a pleasant experience, very quaint but welcoming. No check ins before 3pm, but they held our bags and gave us directions around town. The room was very small, however, was quite comfortable with lovely French windows which we left open most of the time. The breakfast room is quite pleasing and a good selection of food.

Excellent for the film festival

This hotel was really well situated just a 5 minute walk to the palais.
The only reason I gave it a 3 star for service was because I'd arranged a wake up call on the morning of my flight back home but failed to get one and was slightly late.
Overall despite this blip the service was excellent and I'd definitely stay here again.

Perfect Hotel & Perfect Location

Very warm and fine designed Hotel, located in the center of Cannes, 10 min walking to the sea side and with a lot of shops around.

The employees there are kind and proud of their Hotel design and service.

The breakfast room is very nice and we did not use it but advised by clerks. It looks very nice with terrace.

A wonderful hotel! Lovely and convenient.

We stayed one night in Cannes en route to Nice. Hotel Colette was right by the train station and easy walking from the promenade, shopping, and dining. Our room was bright and clean with the biggest, nicest bathroom (and nice toiletries) we saw in three weeks traveling Italy and France. Hotel staff was friendly, multi-lingual, and helpful.

4 Stars? how!

How this hotel received 4 stars is beyond me. There are plenty of 3 star hotels in Cannes that are so much better and have better facilities. What this hotel is not:- a 4 star hotel. It doesn't have 1. A pool 2. A garden or outside facilities. 3. A Resturant (other than the breakfast buffet). 4. A bar. 5. A guest lounge or guest common areas. 6. A gym. 7. Laundry facilities. 8. A business center (apple mac by stairs doesn't cut it sorry) 9. Sound proof doors and windows. 10. Parking
What this hotel does have :- 2 star accommodation with small double bed against the wall with office roof tiles and what appears at first glance a half built Ikea wardrobe that serves as a place to hang your stuff. Very small shower room with single sink with plastic shower curtain. To get an idea of room sizes think New York 3 star double. Tiny. It is opposite Cannes Gare (station) on a parade of shops that boast an English pub and several seedy sex shops ( you get the picture).

What you need:- a new job cos you are not paid enough if you are staying here. 2. Trip Advisor app as you could have avoided it. 3. Noise cancelling headphones which believe me are a must with the noise.

Chose this hotel because when I phoned I was told parking was close however it is 200m down a busy street. Whilst hotel was lovely/sufficient the area was not so nice. It's opposite a busy train station surrounded by cheap bars and a few adult shops. We didn't bother with breakfast in hotel but there was a lovely bakers round the corner.
It's a boutique style decor, pleasant staff and few mins walk into centre.
