The staff were lovely and attentive however there were a lot of problems with the hotel and the room. There were many things missing, room slippers, any toiletry kits such as toothbrush and toothpaste , sewing kits etc. We had really bad bites around our body which looked like bed bug bites which is super concerning but I couldn’t confirm this so I don’t want to definitively say it was this but we couldn’t sleep one night due to extreme itching in bed. The location was very convenient and close to the train station and sea side area. The corridors were so dark and barely any light had an eerie feeling as well as the lift. There isn’t an individual iron in each room but rather an ironing room which is quite inconvenient. Phone inside the room was difficult to use and didn’t have clear instructions on how to get through to reception, I pressed every button but it didn’t go through.

This hotel is great and is very good value for money. Super convenient for the train and bus station to explore the entire Côté d’Azur. No long walks back to the hotel after your journey and the option to do some sunbathing on the rooftop pool if you’re too tired to go to the beach. Bike rental and suitcase storage in the suitcase shop opposite the train station. Had a really nice massage at the spa facility next to the hotel. Bars, restaurants and shops galore. Hotel is cleaned daily and breakfast is good. Only complaint there wasn’t any bottles of wine to buy at the bar and it’s a bit inconvenient using the lift to buy drinks for the rooftop pool, a waiter service for drinks and snacks at the pool would make this hotel perfect.

Nice quirky hotel close to the railway station and town. A few things didn’t work like plug to bath didn’t fit at all, room key didn’t always work either. But staff were really helpful in getting us a kettle instead of coffee machine, rooftop pool was nice and towels provided. Breakfast was €19.00 which we didn’t have.

Staff extremely helpful. Hotel is only a fairly short walk to the shops and beach via a couple of flights of steps near to the station.
Breakfast very good. Home made cakes are superb, fresh orange juice machine extremely useful although bacon always undercooked.
Nice room and nearby 2 lifts were no issue at all.

THE POOL IS CLOSED. The only reason we choose this hotel and the pool is closed. Our room was fine, everything worked except the fan (air conditioning) did nothing. It was unbelievably hot, hot, hot. Kept both windows open - even all night - which was very noisy. You can hear all the trains, station announcements and traffic. It's November, and we were so hot, we slept ontop of the sheets as our room was like a sauna. It's a lovely hotel and nicely decorated.

Our stay at this hotel was saved only by the location and breakfast. The location is excellently placed right behind the train station in the central Cannes. The hotel was clean, and the breakfast buffet was small but had varied choice (mostly continental with a small amount of hot food).
However, we only found out the spa is closed indefinitely when at the hotel, and also found out that despite nil warning on their website the pool was also closed.
This should not be advertised as a spa hotel and the pool seasonal availability dates should be clearly advertised.
We did receive small amount for compensation for these disappointments but would only recommend this hotel if you are not planning on staying in the hotel much.

I stayed at the hotel for around 8 nights and I had an amazing stay there. The staff are all very friendly, and professional and they make you feel at home. The location of the hotel is very convenient. The train station is 2 minutes walk and the centre of the town and La Croisette are just over five minutes. The view of the hills from the rooftop pool is amazing. My special thanks to the manager of the hotel Arnaud and Lucas who made my stay exceptionally pleasant. Merci beaucoup les gars! I would stay in the Western Best Plus when I visit Cannes again.

We were downgraded to a smaller room as they didn't have rooms available but they did this without telling us and then when I confronted them initially they said we don't have options of bigger rooms and then when I showed them pictures he said we don't have and wouldn't even compensate is for the downgrade. This hotel’s star rating seriously needs to be reviewed. There was another guest complaining about fraud and he was right. The pool is exaggerated, it’s nothing. The rooms are clean. The front desk service is bad. The manager Arnaud was very rude and inhospitible and does not even acknowledge guests much less greet them. I checked out and ran away.

It really is a nice hotel, with great location. They can definitely make the \"common areas\" really nice, without spending too much money! The pool towels--need new, better towels! It has the best access to bus and train stations--but their website does not provide instructions! What a shame. It's perfectly located!

The hotel was okay But not a 4 star hotel for sure . The area was nice very close to the train station but the staff at the hotel very unfriendly we had issues with the coffee machine in the room one of our first priority was that the room advertised that it had expresso machine but what they don’t tell you is that the coffee capsules are only free in the first night and after that you have to pay for it we stayed 8 nights and we regret it even though after we complained about the coffee issue they decided give it for us because of the 8 nights

We had a great experience staying at the BW. The area was very safe , few minutes walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping plus la Croisette .
The staff was very nice , polite and accommodating .
We thank specifically Arnaud !! He accommodated us immediately though we arrived early . Our room was very nice and big with a balcony .
We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Cannes

Lovely short break in Cannes

Had a lovely 2 night stay here as part of our holiday to the south of France. The receptionist was lovely (sorry can't remember his name) and he allowed us to check in early. Good location as very near the train station and not far to the old town and the main street with all the designer shops and beachfront restaurants. Nice pool on the rooftop - would have been nice to have had a rooftop bar too but overall thoroughly enjoyed and would return.

Disappointing and extremely rude staff

Be VERY careful with housekeeping and where you leave your things. During our stay housekeeping threw away all of my medication which was left in the bathroom and also took a beach towel we brought from home. We didn’t get either back. The staff were extremely rude and hostile when confronted and attempted to blame us by saying it was “our word against theirs” and that our room was messy, when in fact the room has no storage - there are no drawers or closets, so you will have to live out of your suitcase. The bathroom is more of a 3 star standard. Housekeeping also will not replace anything (glasses, toiletries, etc.). The staff are miserable and do not want to help, they ruin the environment as you come and go from the hotel. They really need a training course in hospitality. The pool is extremely misleading from the photos, it is tiny and there is nothing around it. The only good thing about the hotel is that it is relatively clean and in a good location. Unfortunately we would not return due to the hostility from the staff, the poor housekeeping and the lack of trust that our things would be safe.

Exceeded expectations. On the map.you would think this this a little way from the seafront less desirable as a hotel location. In fact, it's an underpass from the action and has a cool interior with some nice artifacts. Reserved chic. Front entry and reception are mundane but the rest of the hotel (including the massive Marilyn Monroe fresco) is cool.

Location was fantastic. Close to to the Palais and other main attractions. Coffee machine in the room was nice. Rooms were fairly dated but pretty large.

One of the women at the front desk threw me off. She told me my room wasn’t available but would let me know when it was. She then left for lunch an hour or so later, didn’t say anything when she did, so I checked with the person who took over at the front desk. He quickly gave me my room key to go to my room. Just a weird interaction.

Besides that, if the prices aren’t outrageous, a fairly decent spot in Cannes.

Ok stay - the hotel is quite tired looking (and very dark in the hallways!)

The pool is a good addition but overall this isn't a 4 star hotel - more like 3 star.

The light switch fell off on our first day and the bath plug was broken (it was fixed a few hours later) but first impressions weren't great.

Would love if you could cast your photo to the TV to watch things like Netflix.

This was a great experience! Friendly and helpful staff, the room was VERY comfortable, I loved the bathroom shower and the pool on the roof was the icing on the cake. The location is good. Its not too close to the beach and all of the action but it's not far either. A good 5 minute walk and you can be in the action, by the shops, and by the beach. The train is right at the end of the underpass so the location is very convenient. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Great trip due to the amazing staff, we had issues with our booking that the staff was beyond committed to help us resolve - so much so that the manager stayed 45 minutes past her shift for us. She also was wonderful and checked in on us daily. Location is great, I actually loved being RIGHT by the train station, as its so easy.

Central Cannes with a rooftop pool

Wonderful location, 10 mins walk to beach, although next to station you did not hear noise at all. Perfect spot to get the train to other towns and the pool was great!

Although didnt use the gym i believe it was free, the spa and gym were below the hotel.

Staff very friendly (Matilde especially) and the breakfast good. We had the breakfast only one day as so many lovely spots around to eat in. Thank you- great trip.

Nothing fancy but definitely way better than many options. Comfortable room, great staff, easy access to all the action. Only issue is the elevators - small and sometimes unreliable. Otherwise I have zero complaints. Matilde, particularly, on the staff was lovely and accommodating all week.

They didn't have heat in the rooms and I got cold and also didn't have extra pillows. I have a metal in my neck and it was uncomfortable with the pillows and I had extra pain
But the service was great. I couldn't get room service though which was tough because I was in pain and wanted to stay in during the evenings but had to go out. Cute hotel though.

A small, stylish, refurbished retro hotel. Positives: BBC1 and BBC2 TV channels, a welcome facility we've never come across before in Europe; a handy rooftop terrace and pool, very nice bathrooms and a great location for days out along the coast - just a couple of hundred metres from the station.

The negatives, which were very irritating because they're so unnecessary: no fridge; ridiculously expensive breakfast charge and a charge to refill the tea/coffee sachets after the first night - how counter-productive is that? They appear to want you to stay one night because you get charged extra for more nights? We stayed 7 nights and so were irritated afresh each day.

Having said that the staff were nice and we enjoyed our stay in Cannes, with easy day trips to Monaco, Nice and Juan le Pin.

Can recommend the Croisette Cave on Rue Antibe. An afternoon snack of snails followed by rum baba.

Très bel établissement, une déco du bar et des salles de restaurant qui valent le détour.
La suite est parfaite de par sa taille, la literie et sa salle de bain.
Piscine sur le toit très sympa.
Emplacement parfait pour aller se balader au centre de Cannes.
Stationnement hors saison très facile du fait de la proximité des parkings et pour un coût de 21 euros par tranche de 24h00 donc très correct.

Impeccable pour un séjour à Cannes

Les chambres sont bien équipées et propres. L’accueil est impeccable. Le coin bar semble cosy. La piscine en rooftop est vraiment top en plein centre ville. Des tables à disposition pour y manger une pizza ou tout autre « pique nique » vraiment sympa puisque l’hôtel ne dispose pas de restaurant. Seul bémol : parking très limité et aucun parking de libre à proximité en haute saison.
