The Golden Tulip, Cannes was a very nice property - no frills, but lovely and helpful staff, clean room and shared spaces, and very convenient for work-related events near the Palais. The property is super quiet and very comfortable overall. The breakfast buffet is very minimal, but sufficient, with a reliable coffee/espresso machine. There is also no gym on the property, which I didn't love, but wouldn't have had a lot of time for anyway. The staff were very kind, helpful, and responsive.

I had some issues with the heat/air, where it was hard to get the room to cool down, but maybe it was user error? Idk, but it was December and the windows opened to let in fresh, cool air, so it wasn't a major issue. Would definitely return!

I should have had VIP access, I had to ask about the room credit for beverages of €39, I complained about our room as it was dark like a dungeon and even though there was a upgrade available I was charged €315 to change room, Expedia then offered me the option to upgrade to the same room for €205 after I had paid as the hotel
Insists on card details,city tax upfront, then when I asked for some more coffee in the room we used the 4 pods over 4 days and I was charged €3 per pod, the staff were pretty friendly but still it felt like they wanted to draw every possible penny from you… breakfast was really poor, there were coach trips staying from Germany and breakfast was chaos, we stayed a week and the last bit one day there was no coach tour stating and we came down to an amazing breakfast which was strange there were French toast pancakes brioche .. extra charcuterie jams spreads coffee pods for a machine, then the last day it was the same so I asked why and was told the touts pay €4 for breakfast and we paid €20 so rather than give the tour too much we had to pay €16 extra each day and they seem to feel this was acceptable…all in all this should not be a VIP property as you definitely do not get any extra… feel totally financially abused by this property that we went to for our tenth wedding anniversary

Other than Laurent the entire staff were cold and non accommodating!
No services at all,
1- parking was a disaster with a 30 euro a day charge
2- did not replace cups or coffee in the room after first day. Even a motel gives free coffee ??? Such a disgrace !
3- no one answers front desk by telephone
4- 6 euro a day charge to get a towel at swimming pool, room towels not allowed
4- room towels were only changed upon request
5- No facial tissue box provided had to use toilet paper. That is not even a one star motel
6- no cups provided
7- parking at their garage was almost impossible without causing damage. The space was so tight.
8- shampoos and soap were not replaced in our premium room
9- falsely advertised the Croisette was 5 minute walk it was a 15 to 20 minute walk about 15 blocks in 90% heat
10- the neighborhood was not safe
11- the hotel was right next to rail station and a busy highway. With a lot of city noise
This is a far cry from a 4 star hotel or an 8 rating
I give max 2 star and a 3 rating.
Avoid and stay away!!!

Wonderful hotel. Quiet and comfortable. The pool was great for cooling off. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Everyone spoke English very well. It is very close to the train and bus station-only 5 min walk.
Breakfast buffet was excellent with a variety of choices.

This is a great option for Cannes. It is close to the train station and it a very short walk to all the shops and restaurants. The rooms have veen recently renovated so were very nice and the air-conditioning worked very well. It had a balcony to sit out and shutters to keep the noise out at night. The shower was very strange being over a bath and one that had to be held to use which was a bit inconvenient, but other than that it was newly decorated so very nice.
The pool area was great to have, though you have to bring your own towels or rent them from the hotel, which is a bit unusual.
The staff were very helpful with our luggage both on arrival and departure as there are a set of stairs at the entrance.
Overall I thinkbthis hotel is a great option for Cannes.

I like the place but I didn’t feel like the value was there for the amount it cost per night. I didn’t like that it had a community ironing room (as opposed to a iron in the room or even a iron that could be bought to the the room) I’m 6 foot 2 so the loft type room had me walking around ducking. Like I said the place was cool but the value wasn’t there for the price. Do t get me wrong if I needed to go to Cannes and it was the only place available I might stay there again but not if the price is what is was when I went this time.

Beautiful french hotel, it has been restored to make it a modern and functional hotel with keeping its french charm. Rooms lovely and clean and fresh. Pool area immaculate. Location is perfect for visiting Cannes, a short stroll across the road and you are in amongst the shops, bars and restaurants with the beach a stones throw away. Would return to this hotel again.

Excellent area, walking distance to the designer shops, shopping, and restaurants. Rooms are pretty small but clean. Good bedding. Staff are helpful. Only issues are the showers have only the hand shower, no head shower. Also rooms have no tea or coffee machine, and you will have to pay for every coffee or tea you get from the hotel. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Hôtel is smaller- I appreciated that the gate with the small parking lot was closed for safety measures, but it did make entering the hotel with a stroller a little tricky. Shower would leak but didn’t prevent it from working. Did not have hot water our last day. Would stay again just not in our room with stairs to the loft.

Coming here for the Cannes Film Festival, this location was well priced for its proximity to the festival. It was quiet as not on the Croisette but close enough that I could go back to change in between parties. A quiet location, I enjoyed the AC and the sight of the pool but it was too cold and rainy to actually take a dip. I would book here again.

Overall the hotel is clean and well kept. Not sure if it was due to current Covid situation, but my only complaint the guest were very noisy and late hours at night. Waking me up from sleep the entire 6 nights spent there. You can hear everything in your room from the hallways and nearby rooms. Cannot really blame the hotel but the class of people during my stay were “special” to keep it polite.

This isn’t like a 4 star, I note that was awarded in 2011 and seems to have been going downhill ever since There appears to be only a handful of staff who deal with everything - in a not particularly friendly or personal manner - with the exception of the chap who took the bags, he was the only one who appeared to like his job. The bar is unwelcoming, no lights on or music etc - there’s a grand piano that remains closed, it advertises 24 hour bar but you have to ask the receptionist for service. I never saw anybody in there nor felt encouraged to use myself. The pool area is ok but no real drinks/snack service, the little shop/cafe was shut with blinds permanently down, you can as the receptionist if you want a drink (so have to go inside),. Towels are a joke - this is meant to be a 4 star but no pool towels provided unless you hire for 6 euro ... each... per day - or you want to buy a sad grey towel for 13 euro each, I didn’t. Blackout curtains didn’t, over bath shower with weak flow. Amenity pack not topped up. The only thing provided in room was plastic bath cup x 2 - these were used for everything and after 4 days, I had to ask for replacement. The ‘complimentery’ Water was a one off, just a small bottle on arrival and nothing more. No restaurant other than breakfast which is ok at best but ends at 10 weekdays and weekends.... too early! No real snack service. Good location to access hints but apart from that, don’t bother. I wouldn’t stay again.

Has an outdoor pool which was popular with the guests but plenty of loungers for everyone. They have a deal with 'c beach' , they were able to book spaces for us at reception ar a discounted rate. The hotel was lovely. Beautifully maintained and only a few minutes walk from everything. The breakfast buffet was very good. We sat outside on the terrace to eat ours. The pool area was lovely and the water was a nice temperature.
By far the best bit of the hotel was our room - we had a duplex room for 4 adults - room 122 - which was possibly the nicest hotel room we have ever had because the patio doors opened out onto the pool area. We just had to walk down 6 stairs and we were there. The 6 stairs were like a sweeping staircase so it felt very grand! We kept our doors open and we could walk in and out to the pool area all afternoon. By far the nicest room we’ve had.

I stayed for business just before Cannes Lions. It was relaxing and helped me to get focused for the forthcoming craziness. Lovely breakfast, quite a bit of variety such as eggs, bacon, cereals and pastries. The room was cool and a great respite from the sun. The pool is warm in the morning and afternoon and the main road whilst very close is not as noisy as I first expected. I did manage to lose an item of clothing, but the staff did go out of their way to investigate even if the item remains lost.

Basic hotel offering basic services

I had a small duplex room and was surprised when I tried to use the bath. The smell was horrible like the smell of a sanitory sewer system. The room was very basic without coffee/ tea facilities. I forgot to say that I was asked to give 100£ as deposit to the front desk agent. First time I am asked to do so in an Hotel in France, above all for a room already paid by Bank card. Other hotels in the same city are offering better services and are quite often more competitive.

Fantastic location 10 minutes walk from the town

We booked this hotel two weeks before journeying to Cannes for our honeymoon in August 2015, after a complete nightmare involving British Airways and a trip to the Bahamas. Well, Cannes and the Golden Tulip more than made up for our disappointment in not going to Freeport!

We loved the hotel, the super friendly and efficient staff, the good quality breakfasts, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms - all superb. Our room was a triple, which didn't leave a whole load of space to waltz around but with Cannes on your doorstep how much time do you spend in your room anyway!

Plus this is one of the only hotels in Cannes with a swimming pool - perfect for lazy days! Only one comment though - as funky as the sun loungers look, they really aren't all that comfortable! And near to impossible for laying on your front!

It's Just Pot Luck

When booking this hotel through Expedia, the room we chose trumpeted ' A Superior room with Queen bed and space for a small child's bed if required. What we got was a musty smelling small attic room on the 4th floor with a new double bed, new carpet, decoration which seemed to be 'work in progress' and a very tired looking bathroom. Oh, well, the weather is nice so let's not dwell on it. After the 5th night, half choked on liberal doses of lemon air freshener, presumably instructed to be sprayed by the maid, we awoke to the pitter patter of rain dripping through the ceiling onto the the duvet. We quickly got dressed and reported the situation. 3 hours later we were allocated another 'Superior' room on the second floor which was fully refurbished and seemed to match the room description at the time of booking. We were promised 'breakfast on the house' that morning, but as we had already paid in advance, upon our checkout the receptionist said that it would have to be checked with the manager as it was a package booked through Expedia. Great !

My new favorite and home in Cannes

The staff was refreshigly accomodating from initially granting my request to have a room w/a bath tub, storing my insulin in fridge, patiently and repeatedly explaining detailed directions to various destinations on foot, by car and the various parking rules, regulatios, prices and schedule. When a local friend came to visit me she was escorted personally to my door by Raymond graciously without any expectation or hesitation for compensation. Argen, paciently and calmly exlpained and assisted me with several requests above and beyond the typical. Pierre's level of service was beyond wonderful. I felt welcome, warm and at home at the Golden Tulip and was sad to leave.

Whilst the location of the hotel was in good proximity to La Croisette beach,
the service was not the best and the rooms were also very uncomfortable with a low ceiling.
Our room was not ready at 2pm the day we checked in and despite us having confirmation of this in our booking we were told to go for a walk and come back by 3pm to ensure availability.

Overall an average experince, and ok value for money.

The rooms are weirdly designed. No fridg or mini bar in the room. Breakfast is worth than school

Breakfast . My sons went out one evening and when they returned to the hotel the door was shut

So they phone the receptionist and it took him more than one hour to open the door for them. We

did not even get any apology from the hotel. For me this was the worst hotel I have experienced .

Please get it out of your list otherwise it will ruin the reputation of Expedia.com.

Golden Tulip Cannes Hotel de Paris sits next to the main highway that cuts through Cannes so is very convenient and easy to find if you are driving. The pool is a bit smaller in real life than in the pictures but is still nice. Surprisingly the traffic noise in the hotel and the pool area is very low. A quick walk brings you to many restaurants and bars. A fifteen minute walk brings you to the beautiful Boulevard le Croisette and the beaches. All in all not a bad location. Would I stay here again? Not likely but only because there are hotels closer to the shore, while 3 star, give mostly the same level of service except for the pool.

we had a triple room in duplex form: the beds were located on the mezzanine where the height is limited to
1,65 m...but the bed were comfortable.
All in all it was more a room to sleep in than to enjoy a stay because of the too small ground surface below the mezzanine.
No fridge in the room
The price offer from Expedia was allright taking all minus points already into consideration

Hotellrummet var jätte fint och även badrummet men det fanns inte något strykjärn, kylskåp och garderoben var för liten det fanns bara plats att hänga upp några kläder. Frukosten var inte så bra heller, de hade ingen frukt eller grönsaker trots att jag frågade om det. Väldigt litet utbud. Läget var inte så bra eftersom det låg för långt ifrån stranden trots att det stod att det endast var 5 minuter från strandpromenaden.

Jag skulle rekommendera att ta ett närmare och mer centralt hotell med bättre läge och frukost.

Undgå valet parkering og meget lille pool.

Vi boede 4 dage på hotellet eller rettere sat i et lejlighedskompleks overfor hotellet. Ejendommen var fin med nye værelser.
Ved ankomst afleverede vi vores bil til valet parking, som koster EUR 30,00 per døgn, men da vi fik bilen retur var de flere mærker og ridser på højre forskærm. Dette gjorde vi receptionisten opmærksom på, men hun kunne ikke hjælpe, da dette ikke var hendes ansvarsområde.
Vi har siden væres i dialog med hotellet, der dog helt afviser, at de har haft andel i skaden. Vi kunne fra vores værelse se at bilen var parkeret 3 forskellig steder under vores ophold, og der var meget lidt plads vi parkeringsområdet.
Ærgeligt med skader på bil, og vores var kun 14 dage gammel.
Poolen på hotellet er iøvrigt kun til børn eller til at køle fødderne i.

Nous avons passé 3 nuits au Golden Tulip Cannes, et malheureusement, notre expérience a été mitigée.

Points négatifs :
•Le jet de douche est vraiment faible, ce qui rend la douche peu agréable.
•Une odeur d’humidité dans la chambre.
•Chambre très étroite pour 3 personnes, surtout après avoir séjourné les 3 premières nuits au Luxotel Cannes où nous avions eu une chambre spacieuse que je vous recommande d’ailleurs pour le même prix.
•Obligation de sonner pour rentrer le soir, ce qui n’est pas très pratique.
•Système de carte défectueux : il fallait parfois passer la carte une dizaine de fois avant que la porte s’ouvre.
•Parking minuscule, mal adapté pour les gros SUV, et clairement insuffisant pour la capacité de l’hôtel.

Points positifs :
•Mention spéciale à Laurent, le voiturier, qui cumule plusieurs rôles (serveur, réceptionniste…) avec toujours le sourire et une grande serviabilité.
•Très belle piscine, agréable et bien entretenue.
•Situation parfaite : à deux pas du centre-ville, tout se fait à pied, pas besoin de la voiture.

En résumé, un bon emplacement et un personnel attentionné, mais l’infrastructure et le confort sont clairement à améliorer, surtout pour un hôtel de cette catégorie.

Un séjour exceptionnel !
Franchement, c'est un très bel hôtel, propre et bien entretenu. Le personnel est chaleureux, accueillant et toujours à l'écoute. Le confort des chambres est au rendez-vous, le service est excellent. Le petit déjeuner est varié et délicieux, et la restauration en général est de grande qualité. La piscine est également très propre et agréable.
J'avais réservé pour deux nuits au départ, mais j’ai tellement apprécié que j’ai prolongé mon séjour à 10 jours !
Un grand merci à tout le personnel pour leur professionnalisme et leur gentillesse. Je recommande cet hôtel sans hésitation!

Top Hotel in bester Lage, 4-5 Min Fußweg zu Croissete, auch hochwertige Fahrzeuge können bedenkenlos auf den öffentlich Parkplätzen geparkt werden. Die Zimmer könnten ein wenig größer sein, Frühstücksbuffet leider ohne Tomaten oder Gurken. Schöner Garten mit tollem Pool. Preis-Leistung stimmt absolut. Wir haben dort 10 Tage als Paar geschlafen

Helt okej hotell

Hotellet har ett okej läge med både närhet till stationen och centrum! Men är ganska slitet och skulle behöva fräschas upp.
Poolområdet bra men dom tar en hyra för poolhandukar vilket var dåligt.

Fint gammelt hotell, sentralt og rent

Veldig rent hotell. Hyggelig personale som faktisk snakker engelsk. Fin hage med basseng og solsenger. Anbefales! Det eneste negative var at heisen var rett ved rommet vårt og det bråket veldig, det er veldig lytt ut mot gangen og vi ble vekt når folk gikk der og snakket på natten. De to siste dagene av oppholdet var ikke rommet vårt vasket når vi kom tilbake fra stranden slik det hadde blitt hver dag og vi måtte gå å spørre om flere håndklær. Det var dumt men regner med de hadde mye å gjøre. Vil legge til at området rundt var fint og sentralt, ikke skummelt slik som jeg har sett andre skriver.

Belle hotel tres bien placé avec la gare a proximités mais beaucoup trop bruyant entre la voie rapide et les trains si vous cherchez a vous reposer a la piscine c est pas possible et on nous dit service a la piscine la serveuses n est jamais passer il a fallut téléphoner

Conforto, localização e atendimento impecável

Hotel muito bem equipado, com uma equipe extremamente atenciosa e prestativa. O quarto é amplo, com cama confortável e todos os itens necessários para uma estadia agradável. A localização também é excelente: próximo ao centro, aos principais pontos turísticos e, especialmente, ao terminal de trem, o que facilitou bastante nossa locomoção. Com certeza voltaríamos!

Ældre hotel, der godt kunne trænge til en opfriskning. Ikke nok ansatte. Skulle ofte vente på den i forvejen lille morgenmads buffet blev fyldt op. Service omkring poolen var fin, når de havde tid til det.

Hotellet ligger ok ift midtbyen.

Men mht pris vs. kvalitet, så var hotellet for dyrt

Parken teuer, auf keinen Fall ein 4 Sternestandard, man muss wissen direkt an den Bahngleisen insbesondere der Pool hat auch keine Sonne im Hoch Sommer mag das ein Vorteil sein , die Bar und der Frzühstücksraum nicht einladend und nicht hübsch!!! Die Zimmer von Expedia im Angebot katastrophal! Keine Minibar, daa Bad war kleinst zu zweit nicht betretbar, Duschwanne uralt nicht mehr zeitgemäß und Fliesenloch….

Would not recommend this hotel. The area is a bit scary and noisy, the pool was not clean, the hotel is awkward when it comes to getting around and accessing the pool ares. We were not greeted well by the staff in the reception.

Fin beliggenhet, nært å gå til strand, butikker og spisesteder. Det eneste som trekker ned er en veldig støy fra trafikken som man hører veldig godt ved bassenget. Personalet var veldig hyggelig og hotellet fint med store palmer rundt bassenget og spesielt fint gammelt bygg.

There was some confusion in the room reservation and in the end I got a room that was so small that you couldn't walk straight, the bed filled the room to the brim. It was difficult to even reach the wardrobe, which was so small that my long dresses could not fit there.
The hotel's location is great.

Small rooms, and a hotel that overall needed an update 10 years ago. Nice pool area but the pool was dirty. The breakfast was gross.
