We return to this property every year for the Cannes Film Festival and every year the embrace we receive from the team is so appreciated. They are masters of hospitality and always make you feel like a VIP guest. The hotel is walking distance to La Croisette, in a wonderful central area and yet you're just far enoigh from the chaos to feel like you're on holiday. I can't applaud the Sun Riviera team more. Merci mes amis. See you next year

Sweet Old-fashioned Hotel

I have stayed at Sun Riviera 3 times, and love it’s quaint French feel. The staff are friendly, especially Louis on reception, and the rooms are clean & comfortable. My only complaint it that breakfast is rather meagre, and there’s no fresh coffee, only a machine. Great value-for-money though!

The hotel was in a perfect location - right on the main shopping street of Cannes - rue d’Antibes and only minutes from the beach.
The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Only the pillows were the flattest I’ve ever seen so not that comfortable.
There’s a beautiful grassy back yard with a small swimming pool and loungers but there was a sign saying no swimming allowed. Perhaps due to Covid but I had just stayed at another hotel in Cannes where swimming in the pool was permitted.

Stayed there during Cannes Film Festival. Most properties in Cannes I feel are very overpriced during the film festival. This hotel is no exception. But I did have a wonderful experience while there. It was walking dustance from the festival so it suited its purpose. I would compare it to Marriott in quality even tho Marriott is not so over priced. But very nice hotel.

We had a great stay and the location was perfect. I told the front desk manager that I found a cheaper rate online than she was able to offer me in person and she told me I was required to forward my booking email, which I thought was weird. However, the hotel itself was great. Shower was incredible after staying for a week in cramped showers.

Great location in the middle of Cannes.

I would have rated the hotel higher but the lift was out of order on the second day of my trip and I had to take the stairs for 4 floors which didn't suit me at all following surgery on my back. The breakfast selection was quite poor for the 18 euro price tag. My room was very quiet and the bed was super comfortable.

Clean hotel in a good location

The hotel is dated but very clean. The air con in the room was poor so we didnt sleep well during our stay, we were too hot. The bed and linen however were clean and good quality. The odd empty bottle of wine and water were left on our terrace for days and used wine glasses had not been removed or washed and replaced so we were left with dirty glasses in our room for most of the stay. It’s not a huge issue it’s just that the overall comfort of our stay was lacking as a result. Also our key cards kept failing to work so we would have to keep going down to reception for them to reissue the keys. Most days. Great location and nice pool outside. Very clean hotel and nice staff.

Traditional hotel in the heart of Cannes with pool

The hotel is very traditional in decor. They have a small pool which is a nice touch in the heart of the city. The room is immaculately clean but could probably do with updating. In saying that the hotel is very traditional so they style fits the way the hotel is. The bed is comfortable and the linen is high quality. However the air conditioning is not very effective so we found the room stuffy and a bit warm at night (we’re staying in August no it is warm at the moment).

It is already our 4th stay at this hotel. Absolutely love it!!! Reasonably priced. Very clean, excellent shopping location, 5 min walking to the beach. Fresh bed linen and towels. Many thanks to reception and housekeeping to make our stay stressless. Garden view rooms are the best in the hotel. Definitely will come back to Sun Rivera.

Sun Rivera in Cannes was great . Nice location, 5 euro taxi or 10/15 min walk to old town/trade fair. Nice and clean and tidy, good size room with a deck. Would stay again for sure!

We had a lovely stay and the room was nice and the pillows excellent, however, the pool was out of use for half of our stay. The staff were rather brusque and not entirely helpful.

Excellent quality budget hotel in Cannes

I've stayed here twice and been impressed each time.
Excellent location on Rue d'Antibes behind the Carlton. I've had smaller and less comfortable rooms at the Carlton in the past.
Highly recommended when price is a factor.

Good location. Overpriced services eg. Breakfast with a limited choice, espresso at €5, drinks etc. Being changed room service when we went to order coffee to the bar and took it ourselves to the room. Staff not very friendly or helpful. Asked for a wakeup call, that was half an hour later, we were refused coffee service at 7am, even when prior agreed with the staff a night before. The pool is a pond. The balcony with the city view was a 30cm platform with doors. The restaurant - food from jars reheated in a microwave. No kettle in the room. Wifi signal very poor. Overall, the four star rating of the hotel is based on thicking boxes with an absolute minimum to achieve it. Good location - not far to the beach, shops or restaurants.

Great value for off season stay in Cannes. Location and pretty garden are good assets. Many restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance. You save by going to these for breakfast, which as usual in French hotels, is overpriced.

Small Get Away

Arrived at the hotel and a very helpfull attendet did our chek in, no problem. Because of the storm she said that no phone, internet or credit cards were accepted, we understood left a deposit in cash and used the 3G Wirelles WI FI that only worked at the front desk. That was it other than her all others were really rude, no one could speak any english nor be helpfull. The 3G Moden disapeard. Noisy, and unpolite workers. Parking in the hotel is a steall park on a public parking almost in front of the hotel. Contruction starts at 8am and stops at 8 pm, if you are willing to sleep in forget it...Would not reccomend.

Worst Hoel Experience Ever

Asked to have frig repaired or replaced, for medication and food, they said frig is not for that. Asked for ice, they gave me 5 ice cubes in a bowl and told me to come back in an hour, when they gave me 6 ice cubes. Asked for another room, they said no. We booked another hotel through hotels.com for the same night down the street, when returning hotel keys same day we arrived to hotel, they said we'd have to pay taxes, refused to give us a receipt. We walked out frustrated. I've stayed in 3rd world countries (Mexico) 1/4 the $$ and had 4 Star service. Hope I can redeem my free night through the best Hotel ever Eden Hotel and Spa done the street, best service ever, and friendly staff, avoid Sun Riveria Hotel.

Perfect central location

We had a most enjoyable stay. It was a perfect hotel, close to shops, restaurants and Morrison's pub, where they have live music each night. A short stroll to le croisette, port and harbor. Our room was bright and very clean. Reception were extremely friendly and went out of their way to help us. We will definitely return and stay in this hotel again.

First impressions were good, but was very dissappointed to find an empty beer can and wine bottle in one of the drawers - obviously hadn't been checked!

The balcony wasn't cleaned as there was birds muck on the table and floor throughout the duration of our stay - it had obviously been there for some time!

There was also a strange smell in the room which only cleared when opening the balcony doors.

At check out make sure you check your bill as we were initially charged for items from the mini bar which we did not use! This was quickly rectified though.

Brilliant deal on room, good location and nice hotel, but stay spoilt by no working air conditioning, therefore windows had to be left open, leading to bad sleep due to street noise and biting insects.Unfriendly attitude when checking out was disappointing.

This hotel has no sea view. I booked this hotel for location and because it said I would have a sew
A view which it disappointingly did not

2. There is no one to help u with luggage check in or out since only one employee. They give u a cart and have u do it yourself .

5. Located on the shopping strip which is great but lots of foot traffic and not enough security. They should lock the doors at night and only buzz in their guests.

Superb hotel

Classic hotel in the heart of Cannes. A taste of good old Europe. Stayed there only one night but wish I could stay more.
Spacious rooms, great view of the city (although no sea view).
Walking distance to all the main attractions (Festival center, port, old town)
Staff is extremely nice (way above the French average) and helpful.
Based on the attractive rate I got for my off-season visit (beginning of May, right before the film festival) I did not expect much, but I was surprised by the quality of the hotel. I would definitely want to stay there again.

More like a two or three star hotel

Very disappointed: promised a four star hotel - fell far short of that mark. The promised \"LCD television with satellite channels\" was an ancient fourteen inch portable with no remote control and just Sky News and CNN - no other channels showing. Worse, the advertised complimentary wireless Internet access proved to be a pay-for local Orange wi-fi hotspot that you have to log into the Orange French site and give your credit card details.
Location good. Continental breakfast pricey and can be found at a third of the price in the cafe next door. Minimal room service catering. My room was the smallest I've seen in a four star hotel: the bathroom fittings looked like they belonged in a room twice the size and made showering near impossible. The room felt tatty and tiny - which I could take if the rest of the hotel had been full but it was pretty much empty. Paper thin walls.

Dejligt værelse med stor altan. Man skulle bede om, at der blev gjort rent hver dag grundet corona, og de glemte det alligevel indimellem. Fin og billig morgenmad.

La mini piscine affiche cette année \"baignade interdite\". Renseignement pris à l'accueil : c'est un bassin d'agrément (avec escalier pour accéder dans l'eau et thermomètre pour connaître la température de l'eau !) mais vous pouvez vous baigner !!! N'importe quoi !
Petit déjeuner très très cher et table extérieure avec fiente de pigeon... toujours pas nettoyé à 16 heures.
Le + Proximité de la Croisette et des commerces.
