The hotel is a 3-minute walk from the public beach, so it's well placed. It's a bit older, but has air conditioning and a lot of charm. The staff was friendly.
Because it's right near the shore, there were a lot of dining options very close by, as well as open markets. And it's about a 10-minute walk from the train station.

This was my second stay and hopefully I will return next year because the location is perfect for me. The staff really are 5 star - incredibly friendly and helpful. It's still a competitive rate in Cannes and I truly appreciate that they haven't over priced it.

Perfect location by the sea

You cannot beat the price for the location. I was in town for a conference and everywhere I needed to be was a 3 minute walk away plus the beach is so close.

It's an odd set up with my room being literally by the reception desk and I was concerned that would be noisy but it wasn't. In fact, as my room was at the rear of the property, it was so quiet at night (even when local bars were still in full flow`).

For me, the only negative was the room only had one plug socket which isn't ideal as it was nowhere near the desk where I needed my laptop. Reception loaned me two extension leads which meant I could work and charge my phone whilst doing so. If you bring a plug that has many usb ports (which I also had) you can get around that.

You are paying for location here, and thats it. There's no amenities or simple things (Like a blow dryer, fridge, iron, etc). It is close to everything you want to be in Cannes though. The rooms are quite old - but other than that it does the trick if you are not going to be spending much time in there.

Good location

This was a perfect little hotel in a handy area close the Croisette and restaurants. Just bear in mind that there is no lift, the walls are thin and the noise from the street can be an issue for those light of sleeping. But the hotel staff are very lovely and welcoming.

The main draw is the location to the beach. It's so close that if you're with friends, you'd end up feeling embarrassed because your hotel is much closer than wherever they ended up staying. (I was anyway.) Room is tiny, facilities non-existent, but that's ok, because it's Cannes.

What made this hotel exceptional, and why I'm writing this review are the people who run the hotel. I don't know their names, but it's an older man and woman who both speak English and are extremely personable folks. Upon arrival the woman helpfully showed on a map of where I could spend my time, unprompted. But the clincher was the day after I had lost my wallet, and the man very patiently helped me type up a police report request on the website in French. This took almost an hour. There was simply no other way I could have done this myself. To say I was grateful is an understatement.

I heartily recommend this hotel to anyone who's considering it. As close to the beach as the service was to my heart.

What a surprise...

We arrived in Canes by the TER train. The hotel is not far from the train station, a few minutes of walk toward the south, and from there one block away from the sea further south...

When we arrived in the afternoon of a late March day, the hotel was closed, off-season as the Canes Film Festival was still two months away as many other small businesses nearby were all closed... Before we started to panic, I saw the notice with a French number to call. Luckily, I had international plan with my cell phone before leaving, and I called. The owner spoke good enough English, and asked us to walk back north about 100 yeas on the same street. It is the Florian Hotel (named after the street it is facing, I guess). The staff was waiting for us, and the hotel is small and nice, and just renovated. They had not finished the art paining on the wall of the hallway yet. Although small, the bed is comfortable, the bath and toilet are all new! The staff guided us for where to go for dinner, and the simple continental breakfast next morning was warm and good.

Overall, we felt it is a big surprise, and we are rating another hotel because we did not step into the hotel we booked, but we are very happy with everything. If you happen to travel by train and want one-night crash-stay in Canes, the Florian Hotel near the SNCF train station is the place to go...

Location is the saving grace here

You cannot beat the location but you def get what you pay for here
In the heart of town, moments from the bars and beach, shopping all around you
The hotel itself is VERY dated, we were 3 floors up with no lift and as the main building has no air con this is very hot during the summer, especially if you are carrying luggage or pregnant like myself.
the rooms are very basic, dated in style and décor, even down to the bedding. the bathroom too was tiny and very dated. It was all sufficient though, and you don't go to Cannes to spend your day in your B&B room that's for sure.
Staff - the young guy on reception was delightful, friendly and helpful. The older lady, who I believe to the manager/owner is very miserable.
Reception is only manned until 9pm
Breakfast served in your room or in 'Reception' - a tiny space outside a number of peoples bedrooms, where everyone comes and goes, is like a basic school meal, served from a stack of trays, for 1 Euro more, you can eat at one of the lovely cafes near by for a much tastier selection in the sunshine
There is also very loud building works at the rear of the hotel on the next building, which woke me at 7am
Saying all that, for a relatively cheap and great location I would go back but now have more realistic expectations

Enjoyable stay there

My two nights stay there was pleasant. The location is good that it sits just beside the beach with street vibes out of my window, and by walking you can reach all the sites in Cannes. Staffs are helpful, friendly and eager to help you through your stay. It is by far the best affordable hotel I stay in.

Great location, nice price, but small/smelly

The hotel has two of the big three things going for it: a great price in a city of very expensive things (price), and the location is very nice (location)- but the facilities and cleanliness leave much to be desired (cleanliness). The room was very small, even by France standards, the toilet was electric, and it was so close to the wall that I had to get creative to use it (I'm 6'- and I couldn't sit on it). The shower was tiny, too. The room smelled like beach funk, and the A/C emitted a sour vinegar smell when turned on. The outdated fixtures and lighting only add to the overall shabby feel. My fiance cried when we got to the room, and I felt similarly panicked, but nothing a little French food and wine couldn't put us at ease about. The hotel is a block off the beach, sits above some of the TripAdvisor top-10 rated restaurants in Cannes, and with the money we saved on lodging we were able to affird very nice beach rentals and food- so it all evened out in the end.

We stayed for a new years eve in Cannes. The reason was for watching the fireworks on the bay of cannes. Location if this hotel is so perfect, close to the beach - within less than 100 m-, walking distance to the train station and commercial area. The owner was very nice and she explained about cannes and its interesting places. Love the fact that a lot of good restaurant nearby. Definetely recommended...

Perfect Location

This place is perfect for the minimalist traveler who just needs a place to sleep at night so you don't look like another vagrant sleeping on the street. It has a bed! It even has a shower, sink, and toilet.
Do you miss your mother while you're away from living in her basement? Then this place is perfect place for you. The middle age woman that works there loves to ask you a hundred questions on your way in and out. \"Don't forget a coat.\" \"Did you let your dog out?\" \"Don't stay out too late.\" \"Oh you slept in, did you take your dog out?\" Everyday I had to assure her that my dog was grown and so was I.
Other than that, GREAT location for ballin' on a budget. I was drunk every night so I didn't have a problem sleeping on the firm mattress. Awesome bars and restaurants right outside. Beaches right across the street. It even has free WiFi, so that was a huge unexpected bonus. No breakfast buffet but I never wake up in time for that anywhere anyway.
I would definitely stay there again considering the prices for other hotels next door.

There is no lift for the luggages which creates difficulty to carry them up the stairs. There is no parking for the car; which costs an extra 26 euros per day in a public parking space.

Couldn't have had a better stay at the Azurene Royal!
Such helpful staff, gave us a choice of rooms when we arrived, it's literally 20m from the beach, near so many restaurants and bars with clean basic rooms.
If you don't want anything extra special it's the ideal place to stay, would 100% go back!

The perfect hotel to stay in Cannes

The hotel is run by a wonderful and very helpful couple. It is right off the Croisette, in the middle of everything. My room was very comfortable and clean. Considering the nightly rate of the hotel, this is the perfect place to stay while in Cannes. I will be back.

Good for a stop over

Amazing location, a stone throw from La Croisette and not too far from the train station. Very friendly hosts and clean room. Personally would not stay for long periods as the double room is very small so great for a few days but would start to feel claustraphobic, there is the option of taking a triple room though. All in all would recommend.

Very friendly and helpful staff who spoke fluent English. Room was basic and bathroom extremely small, but it was clean and the bed was comfortable, so no complaints.

This hotel has a great location. Close to beach and train station and lovely designer shops. Would definitely stay here again considering the price.

Schlmmel, es roch schon so als man die Türe aufgemacht hat . Wasserschaden an der Decke , Schimmel in den Ecken , vor der Rezeption Teppich als stolper Falle . Noch mal werden wir da nicht einschecken . Badewanne um zu Duschen ok, aber die Brause musste man festhalten , der Duschvorhang viel zu klein .
Am Wasserbecken lief die ganze zeit das wasser daneben ( auf dem Boden )

Bra hotell, till billigt pris, men vi blev av med 45€ på vårt hotell rum så tänk på att inte lämna några saker av värde, vi fick tillbaka 21€ av hotellet så alltså typ hälften. Överlag var vistelsen bra men så klart så tog det energi och tid.

Die Hotelschande von Cannes

Das Hotel ist, seit wir regelmässig über Auffahrt oder Pfingsten nach Cannes reisen, das absolut schlechteste Hotel.
Zimmer zu klein, Badezimmer eine Zumutung, Spannteppich eine Schande, der Zimmerboden uneben, als das man das Gefühl bekommt, besoffen zu sein. Kittfugen über dem Schimmel gestrichen, man müsste dieses Haus aushöhlen und neu aufbauen.
Unweigerlich eine Absteige zum vergessen!!

Un excellent emplacement pour pas cher

Nous avons réservé dans cet hôtel sans grande conviction mais on a été agréablement surpris
Alors pour notre part : l’accueil était parfait , la personne à l’accueil était tjs disponible et très réactive, les lits sont très confortables , la chambre est très propres , le ménages est fait tous les jours les drap et les serviettes ont été changé tous les jours. La salle de bain est certes petite mais très Fonctionnelle et bien propre.
L’emplacement de l’hôtel est excellent à deux pas de la plage de l’a croisettes à côtés des commerces et les restaurant sont en bas de l’hôtel
La gare est à 8 min à pieds de l’hôtel
Avec le double vitrage on n’entends pas les bruits dans la rue
Le seul point négatif est l’insonorisation des chambres , si par malheur vous avez un voisin de chambre un peu trop bruyant , on entend tous
Côté décoration ça allait , après c’est un hôtel 2 étoiles , si on veut le luxe il faut se diriger vers un 5etoiles
