The front desk staff was extremely rude. Someone opened my door at 10:30pm. I was sound asleep. Phone in the room was broken. So I used my cell. Dee, front desk, dismissed my concern about my door being opened. She was so very rude. Luckily I carry door safety devices which prevents anyone from actually coming in. I hardly slept after that incident. I will contact the hotel management about this problem and staff member.

Worst hotel I've ever \"stayed\" at. It took 20 minutes for someone to come to the front desk to check in. On the way to the room, there were dead roaches in the hallway. The mini fridge in the room did not work. The mattress was hard coil springs that was flat on one side. After I complained to the front desk, they just gave me my receipt and said I could leave but would still be charged full rate.

We chose this hotel because we were visiting the Shiner brewery that was about 18 miles away and there was a big selection of hotels with hot tubs and a pool, main reason for staying here. When we arrived the employee informed me the hot tub and pull were not functioning and would be looked at 3 days later. The room was humid and did not cool past 72, which was uncomfortable and warm. Overall we made the best of an otherwise uncomfortable stay. They do have a decent patio and sitting area on the outside of the hotel and the area was quiet.

I wish there were TV remote instructions and the channels did not match. The bed was too hard for me. Chad, at the front desk, was very helpful and considerate. I left clothes on the bathroom door. He called me as soon as they found them. We had not left the area and returned to pick them up. He gave us directions to another painted church. Thumbs up from me overall.

We had a problem with the lady who runs the place. We booked one more night than we needed and asked the lady if we could cancel the last night of 3 nights. She said ‘Yes sure’ as long as Orbitz OK’d the cancellation.. so we called Orbitz and they OK’d the cancellation. Only then when the nice Orbits rep Mary called the hotel, she said they would not allow it. She said she spoke with Marion Brown and she had said no. Well we were minutes from the hotel so we went straight there and asked Marion why she said no? She blamed it on ‘the boss’ but we have never seen a boss besides her and we used to stay there a lot. So the nice Orbitz rep called her back while we were standing there and she said no again while we watched and listened. We told her that we knew there was mo other boss making the decision. We told her we spend about 700 dollars on average per month at that little run down hotel and that we will never spend another dollar there in the future and then stormed out of the lobby and to our room. About 20 minutes later Marion called our room and agreed to not charge us for the last night and said she had over-ridden the bosses decision because she appreciated our business. We did not believe her since she could have done so from the beginning. The problem for her is that the nice Orbitz rep remembered her name and told us and helped us see the Truth about what happened. The hotel lady was always acting nice but it became more and more apparent that it was fake over time.

I had spent the day with a life-long friend in Schulenberg, and rather than drive 3 hours home, opted to stay over. This hotel is a jewel - from the delightful woman who checked me in/out, to the fun Texas furnishings, clean room, wonderful second floor deck/1st floor patio with rocking chairs and view of big trees and a pond, to a good breakfast the next morning, it was a great stay for a short while. Were I need of a hotel in that area again, I would gladly stay here.

The bed was hard as a rock and you could feel every movement made on the other side. The room also faced the road so you could hear the trucks all night. Overall clean and sanitary.
