We loved the staff! They were so friendly and helpful. It took us about 10-15 to get to areas of shopping around the Trevi Fountain area and there was also some shopping in the other direction near the Opera House. It worked out great for us. Our room was adorable and very clean.
We really can't say enough great things about the staff and the 24 hour reception desk. Yes, we would stay here again.

This small, vintage, family-owned hotel was a true gem. We were welcomed warmly and treated like family throughout our stay. The hotel has classic Roman charm, is very clean, and our room was cozy and quiet.

The location is unbeatable—everything is within easy walking distance, making it perfect for exploring Rome on foot. What really sets this place apart is the family and employees that run it, offering genuine hospitality and great local recommendations. We would happily stay here again.

This hotel is a real find, run as a family business with exceptional staff. It’s in a great location, close to the station (not a problem in Rome, unlike some other cities) and within walking distance of most of Rome’s extraordinary sights. They also have a 24 hour concierge.

This is a small hotel with excellent service. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was very clean. Bed sheets were changed on a daily basis. The staff is great, special kudos to Mario. They are super helpful and friendly and will go out of their way to help you move around and get to know Rome.

Great location walking distance to most attractions, staff is great. Mario was very welcoming, provided us with wonderful advice, very helpful, he is very attentive and answered all our questions, called a taxi when we needed. Room was small but bed very comfortable, cleaned thoroughly every day. Recommend Espresso at the hotel, excellent. Selections of fresh fruit every morning and yogurt, fresh pastry, service friendly. It is a hotel in an old building, if you are looking for a modern spacious hotel, this is not for you, but if you like authentic experiences, definitely will not disappoint. We would stay again. Overall great experience.

Quaint property, the building is old and the elevator small and slow. It fits two people with luggage max. It is located on the third floor of an older building. The breakfast;(not included) is a continental breakfast (no protein). No iron on the premises. The bathroom is small. This property receives high reviews online. (So my expectations may have been high). It was fine for our two night pre cruise stay in Rome. The staff were wonderful and very helpful.

Hotel Oceania is a wonderful place to stay. Nicely updated and housed in an older building which gives it a quaint feel and is very clean and comfortable. Close to Rome center and attractions. The breakfast consists of fresh pastries and fruits and is excellently served by the friendly staff. I highly recommend staying at this hotel. As others have mentioned before, the staff treat you like family. The hotel is located on the third floor of a beautiful building, with elevator access. There are some stairs leading into the main building, so those with mobility issues be aware. My elderly mother managed just fine though. The elevator can fit three people with trolley luggage and bags, but it's a tight squeeze. The hotel staff are all lovely, and the reception is available 24/7. Breakfast was included in our package and they offer a simple and traditional Italian breakfast (cornettos, italian bread, coffee etc), which was perfect for us before we started the day. The location was also perfect for the other major sites, where cheap and affordable public transport links close by.

Hotel Oceania Rome review

this hotel was in a older building with another hotel on a separate floor. We had to drag our suitcases up two flights of stairs to get to the reception area after squeezing into a tiny elevator. it’s extremely hot in Italy in August and we were happy that the room was well air conditioned. We did not feel that the sites of Rome were very convenient from the hotel to walk but, it was very easy to get an Uber to take us anywhere.

My favourite while in Rome

Clean and quirky hotel with amazing service staff at desk and at breaky! Location close to train station and a block away from bus. Also quiet and easy to walk to. AC wasn’t pumping full blast but staff tried their best to make it comfortable, and we were every night. Loved this hotel!

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and called taxis for us. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Wi-fi a bit slow but adequate. My daughter had a walking boot on as she had a broken leg. Staff was unable to provide a chair for the shower but sink was big enough to wash hair and wash up. Hotel was on a hill and there were some large steps to get in the building. May be difficult for some with mobility issues. Overall good location walking distance to some sites and good restaurants.

The staff was helpful. They were great to talk with, Mauricio who was in duty when we checked in gave us a map and circled places to visit that were in walking distance. I got the room with the breakfast and it was food. My main complaint was lack of signage telling you the hotel was on the third floor and where the elevator was. Guests of the hotel told us as we had no idea where to go.

There is pride of ownership and service. There is 24 hour access to helpful staff. Breakfast on the balcony is lovely and offers wonderful fresh fruit with yogurt and pastries.

The location was perfect and all of the staff running the hotel were really lovely and so friendly! Unfortunately, there were a few issues. There is no access to an iron in the hotel (I have stayed in hotels of all calibre all over the world and never not had access to an iron. We were advised there was a pressing service close to the hotel - I was charged €40 for 5 items!
We also had no mirror in our room, there was a mirror above the sink in the bathroom but I am short so could only see the top half of my face. The hotel is quite noisy, the cleaning staff have their team meeting at 6am every morning right outside my mother’s room waking her up each morning. These are fairly small things but overall made our stay a little uncomfortable.

The staff at Oceania was very helpful. They store your luggage, call a taxi if needed, answer many questions and provide a unique Roman older hotel experience. It has been updated and the bathroom was nice. To avoid our initial confusion, there is a sign on the building and you must go up a couple stairs and then go down the hall to the small elevator to 3rd floor. We had to ask as no signage directed you. There is no Lobby coffee. You must purchase it. Overall, we enjoyed the convenient location and would stay here again.

This property is more like a pensione than a hotel. It is on the 3rd (European) floor of a nondescript building so it was a little difficult for us to find it. The decor is dated but everything is neat and clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'm glad we opted to include the breakfast which was Italian style and served to us. It is very close to Termini train station and about a 15 minute walk to the Trevi fountain, and even closer are the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni in Laterano and the Scala Santa. I would stay there again.
