Breakfast lovely. Spa facilities looked great although we didn’t use them. Room and bed was very comfortable and the bar area is very welcoming. Plenty of parking.

Negatives Check in system was very poor. Lamps in room didn’t work, one wasn’t even plugged in. Lifts both out of order which was a struggle when one of our party uses a walking stick and struggled to walk.

The staff were all lovely and very welcoming.

It was a very hot couple of days when we were there; the air conditioning in our room was excellent.

The hotel is very well presented and well maintained.

The restaurant was very good for breakfast and for dinner. The chef had clearly gone to a lot of trouble with some of the dishes we had.

The spa is also excellent. We both had treatments and they were lovely.

We almost certainly need to go back to the area again to take care of some family matters. We will almost certainly stay at the Aztec Spa again.

Nice place close to M4 but a little out of town and 20 min by car to suspension bridge. Great spa pool steam room sauna area but long questionnaire to get in each time! Pretty good gym. Restaurant was not bad for dinner too (didn’t have BF there so can’t comment). Parking not under cover. Lake view room needed stairs so I chose a closer room so I didn’t need to carry my bags up stairs as no bellboy service.

A very spacious room with a patio door overlooking a garden with a pond. All sorts of luxuious features you will not find in economocial hotels, like bath robe, slippers, coffee machine, fridge and plenty of drawers, plenty of cups : 2 for coffee, 2 for tea, 2 for cold drinks. the pool and jacuzzi looks good but i have not got time to use it.

The check in staff were friendly and professional. Our room was large but needed updating. The mattress needed replacing and the sofa was very stained. The toilet didn’t flush very well and the shower pressure was weak. The curious kitchen staff were very efficient and friendly especially our waiter Cris from Italy. The food was delicious but the steak was a little tough. Had to order chips, onion rings and sauce as extra so it made the meal very expensive. The prawn cocktail was the best my husband had ever tasted! The fresh milk and water machines in the corridors were a nice touch. The room had a fridge, iron and ironing board. As we booked through Expedia, the use of the spa and pool facilities were £15 per person but we didn’t have time to use these so saved ourselves money using Expedia. The car park was free on the weekend.

Great property and very helpful staff. It was a much needed break for my family and we made full use of the facilities, gym, pool, restaurants and spa (massage). We loved how the property took small details to accommodate for our family, which included kids size robes / slippers, welcome activity pack and snacks and key was separate individual sofa twin beds. My only comment is regarding the family pool times are limited so it does get congested during those allotted hours and especially during the weekends when families with annual resort passes attend, otherwise it was quite during our stay during normal school hours. Overall amazing stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel! The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful. I didn't have a chance to visit the pool and sauna however.

Only item to note is the central heating system was broken the weekend that I stayed. The hotel helpfully supplied a portable heater, which helped in the evening.

My room did not have central heating working and had to use a portable heater. Apparently some other rooms have similar problem and no maintenance to fix on a Saturday evening. Reception wasn’t great either and not offered another room or any discount for discomfort. All in all not a good experience at the hotel.

They told us we couldn’t check in till 3:45 as our room wasn’t ready, because we had a reservation we needed to leave the room at 3:30, they managed to get us into a different room 15 minutes later and said it was an “upgrade”. However the room was very cold, worn and old fashioned, radiators didn’t work and the shower took 40 mins to work after my partner used it. Wouldn’t recommend for the price, stay somewhere else and pay an extra £20. We wouldn’t return.

This is a premium hotel and as such the rooms are well appointed with great amenities. Also love the eco touches of refillable milk and water plus full size toiletries.

However there are some small things that seemingly every year reoccur - always need to book restaurant ahead of your stay to guarantee a table (we’ve been caught out on this previously) always something (or this time a whole section) of menu unavailable, a parking barrier that requires a ticket despite the promise it will raise automatically.

We always get a great rate as book well in advance but we would not return if we were paying full price!

Believe there was a party that went on till 4am. Sounded like someone was on the toilet in our room it was so close on numerious occasions.
Shower head height was set up for a 10 year old and you had to crouch underneath it... not good
We stay in this hotel 3 x a year as normalky reallh enjoy the break. I will not book the nus3iness suit side of the hotel again as did not leave feeling relaxed..... hope this is a one off

2 singles don’t make a king size bed!

A king size bed is not 2 singles pushed together!! So disappointed in that especially as it was presented as an option.
The air con was also broken. The staff were friendly about it and gave a fan but ultimately with the king size bed issue and it being ridiculously hot it wasn’t a particularly comfortable stay

Booked this hotel for my parents as a special treat to stay to help with my newborn, chose here as it had parking, a spa and swimming pool so they could relax. I was horified when they told me they had to pay separately for the parking and to use the swimming pool, not what you expect when you pay for an expensive hotel that the facilities are not included.

We travelled Sheffield to cornwall and used the hotel as a 1 night stay to break up the journey with two children aged 6+9. It was conveniently located just off the motorway so really easy to access. Free parking included. We booked a family suite and it was brilliant - activity packs, toiletries, cookies, vip robes and slippers for the kids ... Great family friendly touches! The suite itself was huge too, perfect for a family of 4. The pool has \"family friendly\" times and is great for the kids. We enjoyed breakfast too, loads of choice and cooked to a high quality. Would highly recommend.

Great food, great rooms, really comfortable, great hotel layout, milk and water dispensers in the hallway, which are genius idea, really make the difference for an avid tea/coffee drinker... Spa, gym, pool facilities are fabulous, very relaxing and well kept. Staff were lovely as usual, they pick good people.

Only thing I'd complain about is having to pay for parking, which I didn't expect... But it was only a fiver per night so not too unreasonable.

Buying a 48 hour spa pass and then told you cant use it after checkout. Highly misleading. Having to pay to use the facilities was itself not on, but then being sodl one unser the guise of being a 48 hour pass and then being told you can't t use it after you have checkout. I manged to get 2 hours of it during my stay.

The pillows are terrible that I had to use my arm a support. The bed is also not great.

However the complimentary milk machine is amazing!

We stayed at the Aztec Hotel & Spa for two nights. It’s just a 10-minute drive from the M5 motorway. Access to the pool, sauna, and jacuzzi is available for an additional £15 per person, not included in the room rate.

Fresh milk and chilled water are available free of charge from dispensers in the corridor—a thoughtful and convenient touch.

Parking is ample and free, and the hotel provides fast, unlimited Wi-Fi.

There are three E.ON EV charging points on site, although one was out of service during our visit. The instructions on the charging unit were unclear: there was no QR code, and downloading the app didn’t enable immediate use, as it seemed to require a physical charging card. Eventually, I used the E.ON website to activate the charger at a rate of 55p per kWh. This method worked well and was straightforward, though it wasn’t clearly explained on the unit itself.

Choose a Hilton or Marriott instead?

The two staff at reception rude and disrespectful whereby helpful or accommodating in anyway. I’ve stayed in Marriott Hilton, raddisson this is by far the worst service and hotel experience I’ve had in a long. Secondly why give the guest an option for double or twin bed and only give them a twin bed for a couple makes no sense should be more equitable and punctual in dealing with the requests of the guest. Also didn’t appreciate staff or guest knocking on our door during day light to turn it down. It’s not that deep and plus we are well within our rights I will never be staying in this place again poor service apart from the bar man. Everything else was unorganized and disrespectful especially the first two receptionist in the morning at 11:00 on Friday 4th July

When I arrived the receptionist waived my spa entry fee as a birthday gift which was so nice. My room was spacious and comfy but dated. The staff at the spa were friendly and welcoming. My therapist was attentive and gave me the nicest foot and leg treatment ever. It was heaven. The staff at the bar and restraint made me feel at ease as I was alone. It was the perfect solo stay for a tired mum to recharge.

Unfortunate timing of our trip

Unfortunately we were woken up twice by a very loud, aggressive kick on the door in the middle of the night. My children were terrified. This made me question safety of the hotel as anyone is able to walk through the corridors. Day time reception staff was very helpful in regards to the incident and I could not praise them enough.

Waited 15 minutes just go check in. Hotels.com failed to pass on my room requirements so hotel wasn't informed. I did call the hotel direct as hotels.com did recommend. The hotel didn't do this either do wasn't happy my request was ignored twice. Apart from this the hotel was nice and relaxing the bed was very comfortable. The bath/shower combined wasnt ideal which is why I specifically asked for a walk in shower. Our room wasn't serviced due to short staffed! But we did get offered a free drink from the bar so that was ok.

I stay here every month, unfortunately, it is through necessity given its close proximity to Aztec West business area... However, beyond that good point, everything else is so disappointing. This weeks annoyance was around parking... It went up in January from £3 to £5 ... I really don't care about the size of raise but its adds to my point. As I am checking out, I request a parking ticket to allow me to exit the barriers.

Instead of simply providing me with the ticket (there is a bunch of 500 right next to him), he had to remind me that there is a £50 fine for losing your original ticket...

Not sure what annoys me more £50 as a fine for paying for the pleasure to use a hotels parking

Or the fact that they couldn't just say \"yes certainly sir, here's your ticket, have a safe onward journey\"!!

Every visit to the hotel has me questioning whether I should be thanking them for the pleasure of staying!!!
