Advertised as with air con but the air con wasn’t on in the entire property and it was incredibly warm and uncomfortable and I barely slept the whole time. Tried to speak to staff but no one was interested in listening. Requested a refund and email been ignored.

Nice stay in Bordeaux, close to the center.
In order to walk to the center, you cross a beautiful bridge (only for public transport, bikes and pedestrians).
Also you can take a ferry in order to cross the river.
Comfortable room with a big bed. Nice shower with good space.
Very friendly staff. Petfriendly hotel!
Parking is a bit dirty since during the day it is shared with a Carrefour shop and a Basic Fit gym. But during the night this parking is locked with a gate. Also, the parking is monitored through CCTV (hotel reception has live feed). This parking is better secured than others in the area where they are having lots of problems with breaking into cars and vandalism. For us this was a huge plus since we were travelling with a car loaded with luggage.

Clean, quiet, easy access. Super friendly and helpful staff. We were asked at check in if we wanted our room cleaned daily. We said yes. However, we wouldn’t need our towels changed daily. We would put our placard out indicating when we needed the room cleaned. This translated to our room being tagged as not needing cleaning throughout our stay. When we requested cleaning we were told they couldn’t because of this clerical error. They did empty the trash twice and gave us new towels - which was unnecessary. But never cleaned or ran the vacuum…

Nice Stay at the IBIS at Centre Bastide

Customer service at the hotel, specifically at the lobby counter , was excellent! All, were Very nice and professional!
Claudia and Irene were superb!
However, the room and bathroom were the smallest we've been in European hotels! Very small bathroom as well!
Thankfully there was AC and daily room housekeeping.
Food service at any time is a wonderful
perk, and the staff is excellent, , even though waitressing isn't their job.
The lobby and eating area are very nice and comfortable!

This is an excellent budget hotel for solo or for a couple traveler. Although the bathroom is a little tight which is typical in Europe, room is very clean. Lobby is trendy and a great place to hang out. Front desk personnel are very helpful and polite. The tram is a few minutes walk and you can also take the boat ride which is included with the city public transportation ticket. The walk across the bridge that takes you the city center is about half an hour. If you google the address, google will tell you to get off on Stanligrad tram stop. But the next stop is much closer from the hotel. There is also a grocery story next door and a patisserie great for simple coffee and bread if you’re not into having a big breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Bordeaux.

Basic but comfortable room, friendly staff. Good for a short stay in Bordeaux. The cleanliness was good. It is carpeted, which I don't like, but the carpets are clean. It's a bit outside the center, but it's just a short tram ride or a 20 min walk crossing the bridge over the river. Note that you only get a big towel each and no small towels, so bring a small one if you need it for hands etc. What is missing is more shelf space for your things.

Bed linens felt used and towels are thin.
The price may be cheap, but what you get is cheaper.
It's also far from the main parts of Bordeaux. 30min plus walk from the main areas (because you have to cross the river) unfriendly staff. Fortunately, we had a car, but despite the fact that building is far from the main areas, we had to pay for keeping the car from 01:00 to 09:00 (ridiculous).

Lots of good points

There are lots of bonus points such as cleanliness, very good air conditioning, comfortable large double bed, blackout curtains and soundproofed room. On the other hand there are no extras such as a kettle or a fridge and everything is designed to make the room easy to clean so it feels a bit plasticky. If you want to use the underground car park, it is at one end of the Carrefour car park next to the hotel. Take a ticket from the machine as you enter and then look for the Ibis signs and park there. Keep the ticket and pay for the parking at the hotel reception. Then when you leave the hotel take the ticket to reception and they will validate it so that it will open the barrier when you leave the car park. I'm writing this here as I couldn't find this information anywhere else and hope it helps someone.

Pleasant stay in Bastide

Lovely hotel, very clean rooms, the towels were changed regularly. Some toiletries provided. Rooms are small but adequate for a short stay. The bed is vey comfortable, the air con/fan is appreciated in the summer heat. Check in process was very efficient, refreshments provided in reception which is a nice touch. Close to a metro stop, supermarket next door, really good value.

My friends all stayed in the main old town part of Bordeaux and paid at least 100 euros more for a 4 night stay. The tram is a 5 min walk (I timed it) and it was 5 or 6 mins on the team into town. It was quiet at night but not unsafe. I think there's a lot of students in the area. I'd stay here again.

Amazing comfy bed and slept until 9.30 am, something I never do. At first we were not sure about the location but literally 10 to 15 minutes walk and we were in the tourist centre of Bordeaux. Plenty of free parking at weekends and local IBIS car park too. Hot breakfast buffet only until 10 so unfortunately we missed it. Very clean and compact room but no tea / coffee or safe in room but exceptional value overall

Reasonable location and fairly standard facilities, however, staff varied considerably and food offerings were also inconsistent.
Evening staff, Fabian and Lis were friendly and very helpful. There seemed to be many different morning staff, none very pleasant and they drifted in an out, eating food from the breakfast buffet as they worked.
Some evenings, there was a blackboard out with a menu and snacks, other evenings, this didn't seem to be available- with no notice.

The erea where the hotel is located is in transision. New buildings and some shops that are closed. We spent two nights here and all is good. It is a good walk from the city senter. Bit you can take the Tram wich stops a block away from the hotel. The area is quiet at night.

Ideal Location in Bordeaux

We stayed in the IBIS Bastide to tour Bordeaux and the surrounding wine country. The location is a 10 -15 minute walk from downtown Bordeaux and a 3 minute walk to the tram station that leads into central Bordeaux. There is a movie theatre close by and some very good restaurants and bars. The hotel room was very clean and the staff were very friendly when we checked in. The room was very clean. Would definitely stay here again!

Best Bed in Bordeaux

We had a chance at the end of a two-week holiday in Lot et Garonne to stay in Bordeaux before our flight and so jumped at the chance for a bit of a city / sight seeing end to our holiday. The Ibis was highly rated on this site and correctly so.... it was just what we wanted. The staff were very welcoming, the room very clean and the breakfast was fabulous! The area surrounding the hotel is a lot more chilled than across the river to the centre (although this MUST be explored).

Nice hotel close to the centre

Nice place to stay for short weekend in Bordeaux. If you like Ibis hotels you will be not disappointed. Very comfortable bed, regular Ibis style bathroom and overall clean room. Parking was 10eur for 24h. But parking is part of the next door grocery store, gates were open to get in and out all day long. (Not sure about late night). Parking outside is payed as well. It is walking distance to the centre and there is nice place to get coffee and buy amazing fresh bread right next door. For 5.50eur you get baguette with butter and jam, brioche with chocolate, juice and coffee.
I would like to recommend this hotel to everyone, except to those who plan romantic weekend.

The hotel was quite good and well priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. I found the room style/decor to be outdated and tired, and the view from the room isn't much at all, but that isn't a big deal if you just need a place to spend the night. This is about a 20 minute walk from the city centre area (part of which, across the bridge, is quite scenic!), or a 5 minute walk to the tram stop that will take you there in 3 minutes. Great breakfast cafe next door to the hotel as well, just next to the large supermarket. I'd stay here again.

Basic hotel a bit from the city center.

We were in Bordeaux to experience the wine. We were also their during the Euro2016 soccer tournament. They were also preparing for their Bordeaux Fest. Unfortunately the city was not able to cope with the mess made from the revelers at the soccer tournament. Streets were dirty with broken glass, beer bottles, cigarette stubs, paper, etc. Didn't make for a pleasant experience walking around. Ibis is a basic hotel. The room was small but relatively clean. Breakfast was basic but available.

This Ibis hotel was super clean and was a great hotel for the price. I haven't been to other but my friend from France said they are all very nice and well kept. This particular Ibis had great rooms that were clean, new, and were nice to come back to after a long day.
The common areas and the small bar/restaurant area was modern, hip, and very well kept with a good selection of food and two very nice automatic coffee/espresso machines.

Misleading Expedia picture but location is OK

The Expedia picture was of the rail station, where there is another Ibis. This hotel is not near the station, but about 30 mins walk away. It is also across the river from the main 'tourist' part of Bordeaux. This is actually good as you get to walk or take the tram across the Garonne twice a day. The tourist bits of Bordeaux are about 15 minutes really nice walk away from hotel so it is all good. The area around the hotel is a bit run down / being regenerated (late 2015) but is also fine and clearly on the way up. The hotel itself is good - clean, modern, helpful staff etc. - and the location is better than it seems if you first walk there from the station. So I would stay in this hotel again if I visited Bordeaux again - and I really hope to go back.

The hotel was conveniently placed and only a 10 minute walk to the city centre. The beds were extremely comfortable and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is an added cost, and for the price, you could have something much nicer in town. But other than this, I have no complaints! I would definitely recommend this.

Good value hotel in decent location

Check-in was rather slow, but as the receptionist was apologetic about this, I didn't mind. The room was not large, but very clean and quiet with modern fittings - ideal for a short stay. I liked the pod-type bathroom, which made good use of space. The location avoids the need to drive into central Bordeaux if you arrive by car, but is near enough to walk to the centre if you are happy walking. There's also a tram stop very near, so you can take a tram into town. We left our car on the street outside, as it's free if you can get a space, but unfortunately someone slashed a whole load of car tyres in the night, including one of ours (some cars had two tyres slashed). In the hotel they said this hadn't happened before, and I had no reason not to believe them, but you may be better off paying the €10 for parking in the underground car park next door which the hotel has a deal with. We opted to pay for breakfast in advance, but this was not good value compared with the room itself.

Bordeaux holiday.

My wife and I spent 6 nights at this hotel and were very happy with the room and with the location. The room was comfortable and had plenty of space. We took a portable kettle as we know that French hotels often don't provide one.
The neighbourhood is perfect. It isn't far from the bridge across the river to the old town and has a safe and peaceful feel to it. There are bikes to hire just across the road. Cycling is the best way to explore and is extremely well catered for.

Aurelie - receptionist.

On arrival our booking for 6 of us in 3 rooms was not on the hotels records. It was a night before a very early flight to the USA so we were very worried. The receptionist (Aurelie) repeatedly said that the bookings were not taken. In a monotone voice and very rude. I showed the reservation number and the printed email confirmation. She did not care. Minutes went by and panic swept us all as I asked why they didn't have our bookings and do you have rooms anyway? Her replies were that the bookings were not on her computer and we have no rooms booked. I asked again do you have rooms anyway? The only answer was 'you have no rooms booked'. By this time we (my in-laws and their child) were thinking we may have to leave and start trying to find rooms in another hotel and hope we find somewhere this late. Obviously upset and worried as I thought I had booked well, I repeated 'do you have rooms anyway?' and finally they found us rooms. She (Aurelie) seemed to enjoy our state of panic. I have stayed at the hotel a few times before and she is the only bad thing about the place. Had it been my first time I would not stay again.

Excellent hotel

The hotel is situated in La Bastide area of Bordeaux which is about 15-20 minutes walk to the city centre. However, if preferred the hotel is close to a tram stop which will take you directly into the centre. These trams run quite frequently. The reception staff were excellent and the room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel also provided free wi-fi.. We were also impressed with the shower cubicle in the bathroom - very spacious. We did not have any meals at the hotel, so cannot comment on this aspect. There is also undercover car parking available at 10 euros for 24 hours. We enjoyed our one night stopover in Bordeaux and would certainly stay here again. Thoroughly recommended.

Great location just across the river from the city centre. Clean, modern with all the facilities you need, including a very comfortable bed. Very good value for money.

Comfortable and convenient

Feel that the 'free' parking in the square in front of the hotel was engineered to confuse so paided the €9 a day charge in the hotel car park.

Clean hotel in good area

Decent area of Bordeaux, within easy reach of bars and restaurants, and a supermarket (Carrefour) right next door. Hotel was clean, and room was quiet.
