Overall okay, but the walls in the room were very dirty and needed to be cleaned. Especially behind the desk and suitcase bench. Disgusting. Room was extremely tight, had to squeeze by furniture. Had some confusion at checkin with breakfast, I thought they told me breakfast was included but they charged my 13.90 per day. Apparently they were asking if I wanted breakfast included. Be careful with this. Location is good for the train, but you need to take the tram into the city centre (which is easy)

Rooms are in desperate need of a deep clean and renovation. Bathroom was very grotty. Be prepared that rooms are so basic that they don’t even have water glasses.

The hotel is currently surrounded by a building site so don’t expect any nice views of Bordeaux

My stay at this property was a mixed bag. I had concerns about the cleanliness of the room, especially the bathroom. Most of the staff I encountered were helpful and professional. However, I encountered one older male staff member who was very rude and disrespectful. The breakfast offered by this property was very extensive and worth the cost.

The service by the desk people were great. The bread choices in the breakfast was fantastic. The four-graon break was a hit. The room service by KLEA was excellent. The breakfast team was and reception were pleasant and helpful. The hotel is at a walking distance from the Saint-Jean train station when you can buses and the tramwayto the city center. They offer oarking for $15 euros per day. The outside is safe but does not like it. Plenty of road work outside is an issue. Merci pour votre accueil chaleureux.

I chose this hotel based on it having air conditioning. Got to the room and the ac was not working. I went to reception to ask if they could fix it or change rooms and was told that it was turned off through all their hotels to save energy. It had been a hot day and the hotel building retains a lot of heat, so it was impossible to sleep - one of the worst hotel stays ever. Basic mis-selling if they already know the air conditioning is off but still sell the room based on it having ac.

While the room was clean it is also a bit smaller than other Ibis or comparable hotel rooms in this class. It is fine for a day or two, it will feel cramped after that.

Be aware that there are 4 Ibis hotels in the immediate area, so don’t just walk to the first one you see.

Nice hotel by the river and station.

Typical Ibis hotel, a short walk from the railway station and next to the river. Easy to get a tram to get about. There are several other Ibis hotels in the area, so be sure to go to the right one. Check-in and out staff excellent, both friendly and efficient. Breakfast a bit limited by Covid-19 restrictions. I was given a room which I think is aimed for people in wheelchairs, so both the bedroom and the bathroom were bigger then normal for an Ibis hotel. The hotel was as expected and I would certainly use in again.

It wasn´t good at all. I made the reservation online and the hotel confirmed it and deducted the money from credit card. When my mother arrived at the hotel they said that they did not have any booking. She showed the confirmation number as well as the payment done in my card and they said no. This was 9pm so she paid on spot for her room. What basically happened is that the hotel has charged the room fee twice....still no money refund in my card....

The location for our purposes (travelling further afield) was great as very close to the rail station, it was also easy access to the town centre,

This was the smallest room we had in two weeks of travel. If you have lots of luggage it can pose some issues. The beds are small and tight. The bathroom door doubles as an extra door to the hallway. This is great to cut down noise; kind of awkward when using the bathroom. The bathroom is also very small. So with two people it’s rather tight.

But they try hard. The staff is awesome. The breakfast was fantastic and the decor is very calming. The elevators work well as does the wifi. So despite its size, I found it a good overnight stay. Now we did stay here two nights and perhaps that was a bit much.

The location to the main train station was the big draw for us. A word of caution: there are four Ibis hotels in this location and ours faced the Main Street overlooking the river. This was good but the area is rather sketchy at night.

There are five Ibis hotels around the Gare St. Jean, and three within one block. Pay attention to which one you're staying at if you head out of the area and then return. Desk staff at the wrong Ibis hotel may not be less than helpful getting you directed to the one in which you're registered.

Ok hotel for one night in transit - the room was tiny, the bathroom needed refurbishment and the location of the hotel near the train station made it very easy to connect between a late train and an early flight. The neighbourhood is ok, although again not where I’d choose to stay if I were holidaying in Bordeaux.

Hotel is very close to the train which was convenient. A city pass for 72 hours made it easy to use the good tram service but a different route each day gave me new ways to see this excellent city. The front desk people were always very helpful with places to eat and sights to see.

Good 3 star hotel, not far from train station or tram stops. Friendly and helpful hotel staff. Good breakfast but if staying more than 3/4 days could become monotonous as practically the same each day. When busy may need to wait for replenishment of food, cutlery, glasses etc. Good that there are takeaway bags and cups available - nice touch. Rooms are small so be careful when walking round the bed as can hit your leg off the corner. Comfortable bed. Good air conditioning in room able to control to suit.
Hotel sells single and day tickets for public transport. If you need to get a 7 day card need to buy at the machines at the stops but please note that they do not take notes only coins or card.
Easy to get around on the tram system.
Area fine to walk around even at night - few eateries and bars across from train station if you need something nearby.
Bordeaux is an expensive city for eating and drinking but if you 'shop around' you can make it more cost effective. Look out for happy hours in some places. Prices in hotel reasonable for drinks.

Clean hotel near station seedy neighborhood

Clean basic accommodation hotel near the train station. Utilized as a quick rest stop between Paris and the Dordogne. The staff was friendly and efficient. The location is near the train station which really is the only positive. The neighborhood feels a little seedy. Bordeaux city in general is architecturally and otherwise not a great city but works well for a rest stop en route to other areas or as a home base for the touring the fabulous Bordeaux REGION.

Located close to the Gare Saint Jean, this hotel is a 25 minute walk from the centre of the old town of Bordeaux. There are also convenient tram links close by, but walking distances are not huge in Bordeaux. Spotlessly clean, a perfectly functional place to sleep whilst visiting Bordeaux. There is a small bar in the hotel foyer, but you wouldn't be spending time other than to sleep or eat breakfast in the hotel. Bordeaux has a massive choice of bars and restaurants. Walking into town, explore the back streets rather than walking the direct route.
A taxi from/to the airport costs about Euro 55, the only alternative is a bus followed by the walk or a tram from the centre of town.

I was looking for an hotel close to downtown by foot because i wanted to walk all day long to discover the old parts of the city of Bordeaux during my vacations. I was also looking for a place close to the train station. The Ibis hotel was a very good place for me. The hotel was comfortable and quit at night. I had a good previous experience with Ibis hotel in Toulouse days before. Thank you very much.

Stay away - terrible \"customer service\"

I made a booking for the right dates in the wrong month. I completely understand that this was my mistake but because I realized within 2 minutes of booking it I thought that I would be able to sort it out with very little disruption to the hotel. I have in fact made this mistake one time before (never learn) and received an understanding and helpful response from that hotel in question.

However the iBis Bordeaux Centre Gare Saint Jean was not at all interested in any form of customer service. The minute they had my money they were not interested. They have multiple hotels worldwide and a 2 in Bordeaux alone but were unwilling to change the date or the hotel or be of any assistance at all.

I understand the nature of contracts and legal systems however this was beyond that. I completely disagree with their approach and would not recommend dealing with them for that reason.

This hotel provided a great base for 3 days of wandering around Bordeaux and touring the local area. Its location was perfect for both parts of my trip, being located close to the main railway station for early departures and late returns, but also within easily walkable distance of the main features of the city itself. Local transport links were close as well.

There are 3 Ibis hotels near the Bordeaux train station . So this Ibis hotel is Not right across the street from the station & a bit hard to find . I had to go to the one ( Ibis ) across the street to find out it was the wrong hotel !!! Area at night was not really safe ( I'm a woman travelling alone ) . But once inside , the hotel was very nice & the room very clean & comfortable ( a bit small ).
The breakfast buffet was very good ( 10 Euros ) . I just thought it was a bit too expensive for the area ( 120 Euros for a night at the end of November ). The staff was very helpful & professional .

After touring round Europe for a few weeks, it became apparent to me that Ibis hotels always offer a good standard of service, comfort and cleanliness. This one was no different. The check in was quick and welcoming. The wifi was free and ran at a decent speed. The room was clean and comfortable. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

I had a bit of trouble to find this hotel as not knowing the differences in Ibis hotels I happened to go to the 2 Ibis hotels before getting to the right one. I must say staff in all of them were nice, friendly and helpful.
Once I got to the Ibis with my reservation everything went fine, staff were efficient and helpful. The room was clean, confortable and quiet. Good TV and free WiFi added to the confort. Breakfasts buffet was delicious.
