The breakfast is nice. The fresh yogurt is a really good helper for my digestive system. However, I would like to suggest a handle cover for the pot lid & spoons as they are hot. If possible, a little more space for the food table so people can get food much easier. Would to like to have stir fried veggie in the hot food section.

Good stay and a good location, especially for the close by train station. There is also a tram stop close that serves many great locations in Bordeaux. One issue that we had and seems to be somewhat common, is our room AC never worked as well as expected. We had to get a fan to help from the hotel. Besides that issue would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is modern and clean; our room was generous in size with a comfortable king-size bed. It is located within an easy walk (even with roller-luggage) of the St Jean rail station. However, it is absurdly difficult to identify the hotel when driving a car whose navigation system has the address. Better to park at the railway station and call the hotel desk for help.

When we arrived at the hotel we were told our room will be 58°C as the AC is not working. We checked the room and it wasn’t that hot so we checked in anyway. Unfortunately check in was poor. We were not told about breakfast, nor when we should check out. The hotel had only one fan, which was being used by the night worker and so they couldn’t provide any for guests despite the AC being broken. I understand some things are out of their control, but no contingencies were in place for guests, and normal procedures not even complete. The rate for the night we stayed ahead also dropped to from 160 to 90, yet no compensation was offered for the loss of pre sold amenities. Separately my VIP hotels.com status was not acknowledged and the benefits not honoured.

It does a good job.

The building seems very new. It hasn't been renamed yet on the building so its not obvious. Google maps leads you a block or so away. The front desk and bar staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was tidy when we arrived. We keep a clean room and it was tidied as needed. Check how much TP you have when you arrive. We were shorted each day. We also ran out of shower gel the first morning. It wasnt topped up any of the proceeding days. We also had brought glasses and a champagne bottle to the room. They were never removed. These things did not ruin our stay. They were noted and brought to the front desk's attention when we checked out. You are near the train station with a 15 minute walk. It's a bit industrial/business in the area. There is a great beef restaurant near by. If you walk back to the train station, you can fan out and find some nice local areas.

US chain that is just a typical French hotel. Clean and stark. Staff tries with what they have, but could as easily be an Ibis of Sofitel. Boring with nothing really around. Priced too high for what you get. Bring your own water bottle and snacks. Generally either go cheaper or find better

We walked to the hotel from the train station. We went out the main doors of the train station. We could have made it much easier on ourselves if we went to the lower level and crossed under the tracks. Otherwise, the hotel was great. Not too expensive, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed.

So terribly disappointed with this hotel…

I can’t believe that so many people have given it 10/10! The first issue was that despite the Hotel offering parking when I emailed to enquire I was told that I couldn’t reserve a space - I had to enquire about parking at reception when we arrived….but there was nowhere to park the car outside the hotel! So we parked in the public car park….and it cost €88 for one night! I did enquire about parking at Reception but was told that it was actually up the road…..not exactly as indicated by the website 😕

The room was ok, not what I’d expect for the price, not even a free bottle of water and hairs in the washbasin. The shower kept reverting to cold for a few seconds. My husband had to go to Reception twice just to get some tea bags and milk. We got back from a days shopping and wanted to eat in the restaurant but were told that it was closed! On a Saturday night! Breakfast was pretty disappointing too, the pastries weren’t cooked enough and the juice was from a packet.

The area around the hotel is absolutely horrible, think Kings Cross 20 years ago…..this is most definitely not a hotel to stay in if you’re a single woman. If I hadn’t been with my husband I wouldn’t even have checked in, we most definitely wouldn’t have stayed a second night.

I wish that there was something positive to say….

Great hotel for a visit to Bordeaux!

We had an amazing stay here when visiting the Bordeaux Wine Festival. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms are a good size with good amenities and the hotel is close to the tramline and the train station for getting around. The rooms and hotel are well maintained and very clean. We did think the bar prices in the hotel were a bit expensive given the location is not city centre, wine was reasonable but other drinks can be expensive. We would definitely stay here again as it’s a great hotel with excellent staff who provide a very friendly service. Thanks to all the staff for a great stay at the Golden Tulip Euratlantique.

Golden Tulip is a very modern clean hotel, similar to its sisters in other towns. The only issue is location- it is very hard to get to by car, and the area is a new development with some dodgy characters about, similar to being in Canary Wharf or La Defense

A few things to improve to make it a true 4 star.

Like most hotels in the world, they do let you control the room temperature despite having a thermostat in the room. It was way too hot and impossible to do anything about it.

The room had a liquid soap dispenser. Didn’t dispense much. Obviously designed to give you as little soap per push as possible.

No paper tissue dispenser either.

Overall quiet room.

Good modern hotel with wasy access to city centre

Great hotel for four nights in Bordeaux. Not in a particularly attractive area, but pretty quiet and very near to a tram stop for fast transfer to the old city centre and not far from the station.
Good range of breakfast foods and great coffee. Bar area was pleasant. Bottles of water replaced every day in the chillers in the bedrooms.
Beds comfy and bathrooms fine, very clean, although shower very slow sometimes.
Bedroom lighting wasnt great if you have poor eyesight and you want to read.
Staff could not have been more helpful, organising taxis etc. Efficient service at the bar and at breakfast.
I'd reccommend for a group who need a lounge / bar area to hang out during their visit and quick access to all the attractions of the city.
Wifi was good.

Happy as a clam!

The location of the hotel, relatively close to the main train station, was nice, and just a walk over a bridge to reach. It is nestled in a business park type area, that looked and felt clean and safe. The lobby of the hotel looked and smelled fantastic. Once we reached our room, we were very satisfied with the size and cleanliness. The only minute complaint is that the bathroom door made getting around a little acrobatic, but otherwise we would absolutely stay again.

- New hotel /Building
- Service was really good (staff support was amazing)
Things that can improve:
- Website lists the hotel with parking, but parking available is not in the same building. I arrived by car and check in was complicated as I did not have a place to park the car and take the luggage out to do the check in)
- Frigo in the room was broken (it was replaced when I communicated to the reception, but it should have been changed in advance)
- Phone in the room was disconnected from the wall, no instructions in the phone to call reception, when connecting phone to the wall a weird noise started (phone prob needs repair)
- Internet was very week and instable (I had to reconnect several times and sometimes during the night it was unavailable, my friend experienced the same problem with other devices).

Golden Tulip a little tarnished.

Hotel came well recommended, but was understaffed. Our tv and the plug in the wash basin didn’t work, There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom. The 2 staff members on duty tried to help but without success. No recompense was offered.

A great 4 night stay

A practically new hotel with an excellent modern look and feel. As other reviewers have said, the location means you gain in proximity to the railway station (we arrived by TGV) but lose a little in distance from the city centre. The tram connection to the main sights is currently suspended due to maintenance works in that section, but there are frequent buses on the same route. It’s very easy to buy transport tickets covering both trams and buses, which are in fact passes which can be topped up again we discovered. Overall, a great base to explore a fascinating city.

Cute hotel - but wouldn’t stay again

Our stay was ok... our room had a horrible, musky/moldy smell. We could have said something but figured we would only be there to sleep, which was the case- so didn’t bother. Our fault for putting up with it.
Breakfast was great the first day and we received great service, but the second day, we arrived at 9:15. It took 40 min for them to re-fill the food items, including water and juice which were all empty.
One random occurrence I experienced (and am still confused about) was the fact that this man knocked and burst into our room. Thank goodness I had just put my dress on and had been by the door. I was a bit startled and he just said ‘pardon’ and scurried off. Turns out he was the general manager, but no explanation whatsoever as to what he was doing, why he was there and why he just walked into our room at 10am!
