Stayed for two nights. The main room, linen, and towels appeared clean. However, the bathroom was unacceptable and frankly disgusting. Upon arrival, found it clearly hadn't been properly cleaned for quite some time.

The toilet had thick, dark limescale at the bottom and on the inner rim. The shower cubicle was full of mould patches in the corners and on the grouting.

Such neglect of basic hygiene in the bathroom completely overshadowed the stay. Not what you expect from any hotel.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 — You get what you pay for: fine for one night near the train station

My expectations for an Ibis Budget were low — and it pretty much delivers what you’d expect for the price. It’s okay for a short stay or a train-travel layover, but not somewhere I’d choose for a longer trip a Bordeaux

The hotel is clean and well kept, and the staff were friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. The room, however, is extremely small — it’s even tricky to roll a carry-on suitcase around the bed. For North American travelers, it may feel uncomfortably compact.

The bathroom setup is quite basic: the shower feels like a portable cabin, the toilet closet is tiny, and the sink is oddly placed in the middle of the room. That said, the bed was comfortable, though the sheets looked overused more towards yellow than white

The area around the hotel feels a bit rough. It’s very noisy, with taxis, bikes, and travelers coming and going constantly. The surrounding streets are quite dark at night — I can’t say for sure if it’s unsafe, but it definitely didn’t feel comfortable to walk around after dark.

The hotel is far from Bordeaux’s nicer central areas, about 25–30 minutes on foot, so if you want a proper dinner or to explore the city, you’ll need to take a scooter, tram, or taxi.

Overall, it’s fine for one night or a 12-hour stop if you need to be close to the train station and don’t mind the very basic setup. You get exactly what you pay for — no surprises, good or bad.

The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I arrived very early approx 730am and they let me store my bag and arranged breakfast for me. Also they allocated me the first room of a type I had booked when it became available. In addition they stepped in and assisted when I had problems with my next leg of my tour. Very clean and quiet hotel. Lovely buffet brekkie. Excellent. Ibis is always wonderful. Every hotel is slightly different but very good service.

I appreciated the location proximity to transportation by the train station. However, this likely brought the loitering of people around the area. The tram stop outside the station is super convenient for exploring the city. The room is basic as expected. I stayed one night. I would. It want to do more than 2-3 nights.

The hotel is very convenient, close to the station. For the price it is cheap and cheerful. The staff are very friendly and the hotel at night feels very safe but the area at night is not always great. The facilities are basic. There are plenty of food stores and restaurants and the tram makes it easy to travel into town and to the airport.

The hotel was in a great location by the station and about a 20 min walk from the centre. The room was very clean and everything was in good order so very good for a budget hotel. However, despite paying on hotels.com we were asked to pay again at check in. We should have noticed the error but after a 5am start and having booked many months ago we mistakenly complied. Had we not noticed the error they would have not raised the double payment. So i would advise being cautious of this error if booking.

Good Budget hotel

Overall it was a good stay in a budget hotel. The most annoying aspect was the fire alarm going off multiple times and having to evacuate from the 6th floor due to smokers in their rooms. It was located near the train station which isn’t the most central neighborhood in Bordeaux, but it was easy enough to access the city center using transit. The cleaning staff was great and always left our room clean and fresh.

So pleased l booked this hotel for my first solo trip to Bordeaux. Hotel opposite Saint Jean Gare from where l had got the Direct bus from Airport.
Ibis Budget is immaculate. The facilities are excellent including the wonderful breakfast.
Staff so helpful. Can get the tram opposite hotel, outside station to Bordeaux Centre, just a 13 minutes journey.
All round a great hotel for a base to see the sights of beautiful Bordeaux.
Definitely staying at the Ibis Budget if back in Bordeaux.

The shower connects directly to the bedroom instead of the bathroom so there is no privacy at all if you want to shower.

There is an up charge to use anything, a hair dryer, an iron, etc.

The room is also much smaller then it appeared online.

This is an excellent budget hotel! It’s across the street from the train station and you can store your luggage for 2 euros each if you arrive in Bordeaux before checkin. Also across the street is a tram station so you can hop on one of these lovely city trains and be in city center in only minutes. The room was spacious, cool and clean. This hotel is an excellent value.

At the moment of our check in we met Ali such a nice and helpful staff and spend time with us to guide us in our one day visit.
The hotel is located in a wonderful place!! Few minutes walking from/to Gare (station). Easy access to city centre and touristic area.
On our way back to hotel around 11 pm, my wife and I found the area safe.

It was hot in the room even air conditioning was working all day!!!

I got a room facing the wall! I feel like in prison! This is probably a joke. It should be a room as a storage for brooms, mops etc.
There were many other vacant rooms on the upper floors.
No kettle, cups, saucers. So no coffee, no tea in the morning.

Plus: location next to the communication centre !
A quiet room at night.

We were fist given a room that smelled of sewage because a drain had been left uncovered. The staff at reception were very friendly and quickly gave us another room in which the smell was bleach like. The rooms are very basic and clean ish. The area around the station did not feel very safe with a number of homeless people and a few drinkers who would intercept tourists (in a friendly way). From a convenience point of view, it was a brilliant place to stay because the station was right opposite which is what we wanted.

We spent two nights here, it's directly next to the train station (across the street) which is the only bonus. The location, surrounding area stank of pee and there was dog/pet poop everywhere. Almost stepped on several along the way. The neighbourhood itself is quite dodgy with groups loitering and drinking on the street/curb after hours. I would not recommend families to stay here. The room was VERY basic. Our AC was lukewarm throughout the stay and barely worked - we had to open the window to keep the room cool at night. It was overall clean, although odd they left the comforter (without linen) left on the table. The bed was firm, pillows need to be refreshed as they did not offer support. Not our best experience and not really any real value. At best a place to camp and move on to the next location.

First time traveling through France, and first big trip post-COVID restrictions so we are rusty with booking and planning, and we weren't sure what to expect. This was the perfect hotel for our needs! Right by the train station, and an easy walk, tram, or ride the commuter e-bikes right to downtown area. Good little cafes and restaurants nearby as well. Would definitely stay again.

It was a good experience in the first 2 days. We were at 4th floor (412). A lot of times our room was opened by the service ladies. They just knocked one time and opened. Not good for our privacy with a family. Yesterday (02 Jan 2022) we booked a breakfast (adult + child) and we were charged 2x adults. It was a nightmare to get reimbursement for just €3.45 on check-out. The other time we have booked a breakfast for all family it was missing croissant. We need to congratulate at least one person that received us in the 1st day and did our check-in. She was really very helpful and simpatique…Sorry I forgot her name

The staff told me that i needed to pay for the room when i checked in (but i have already paid with Expedia). Luckily, there was another staff to check for me. But the 1st staff didnt apologize for it.

And the condition inside the toilet is not very nice. I understand that this hotel is a budget one, nothing shall be luxury but it could have been better.

Thd front desk clerk mader mistake and charged my credit card again even though it was already paid in full. After I pointed him out, he still would NOT void the charge and kept insisting I had to wait until Monday to receive a \"refund Check\". What a disaster... I was busy on Monday so I asked for the refund on Tuesday when I was checking out, to my disgust this front desk clerk had no idea. There was NO record of this mistake and he suggested I contact hotels.com, who refunded my card then. Never again.

Super close to the station which was exactly what we needed! Our room was close to the lifts though and as it was a Friday night you could hear drunk guests coming back late. That said you get what you pay for here, it provides the basics (towel, shower gel) and an air conditioned room.
