Staff were amazing and went out of their way to provide excellent service… However, a few niggles with room and amenities let overall score down….

We were allocated a double room when I requested a twin, as to be expected with father and daughter sharing a room, this was rectified quite quickly but after a midnight check-in it wasn’t ideal.

It also became apparent very quickly that standard EU plugs would not work, again rectified quickly when I was offered the correct adapter but at a cost of Fr.15, but when the rest of our party checked in the following day, they were provided one for free…..

The biggies issue though was the temperature of the room we were allocated, far too warm and air con not working properly (blowing out hot air regardless of setting, checked by maintenance but not resolved and told it was “working correctly”). It was so uncomfortable we had to ask for a room swap, sadly none available at time of request so offered a refund of breakfast (paid for at time of booking), which I said i would think about…. Following day i was advised a twin room could be made available and refund would still apply as a courtesy…. Happily accepted room swap and difference was significant, cooler room and working air-con 👍 However, when tried to process refund, was told it could not be done as booked with Hotels.com and not with a card via Hotel!! Also paid for 5 days breakfast but checked out on final morning before breakfast opened… Good hotel, great staff, few niggles

Chambre confortable, de bonne dimension, très propre. L’hôtel au complet est dans une excellente condition. Excellente localisation: on peut presque tout faire à Lausanne à pied. De plus, arrêts de bus, métro et gare tout près. On est au centre-ville et en même temps le Lac Leman est accessible en qqs minutes en transport en commun. Bravo pour le laissez-passer pour les transports en commun dans la ville remis aux touristes!

I’ve had many good experiences at this hotel. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It’s clean and convenient. this time for some reason the room I got smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke. It was laid and I was too tired to ask for another room. But this is the first time after staying there for many nights that this happened.

Excellent.Very good air conditioning. Thick double glazed windows.Room silent. Good beds and bathroom. Central location in the old town. Neighborhood clean and safe with some interesting characters on the street. Old town is halfway up the hill, walkable but some hills. Take the metro down to the waterfront where ,at Ouchy, there are old beautiful restored steamers to Montreux, Chillon Castle and Thonon-les-Bains with great views of the lake and Alps. Would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our time in Lausanne. IBIS is located in a great location to access the city by walking or public transit. Our room was quite small, but the shower was large and the air conditioning worked well. The bed was comfy and it was affordable.

Good choice in Lausanne!

We enjoyed our stay at this well-located and clean hotel. The service was also very nice with super helpful and accommodating staff who helped make our first visit to Switzerland much easier! The breakfast was also very good - the only issue was that we came near opening on the first day and found no fresh fruits available - but Day 2 had everything we could want:)
The only issue to check is the climate control in your room because the outdoor window does not open, and on our stay the weather turned warm and the room AC did not work properly so it was a stuffy night.

The hotel had good staff who were happy to help when asked, and the bedroom was clean and tidy.

However, the air con didn’t work, leaving the room overly hot during the night. The shower smelt like sewage at times and the decor itself was very dated, including the carpet which seemed to be coloured to avoid showing stains.

Location is good for all the shops and restaurants, about a 15 min walk to the main station as well.

Good base to explore from

This Ibis up on Beaulieu is easy walking distance to most downtown sites but well off the waterfront. Staff are friendly and helpful, building is well maintained, breakfast buffet is well stocked, transit is on Beaulieu and the neighbourhood is quiet.

Little gem

This was a stop off on a route. The two guys were amazingly helpful and welcoming, a credit to Ibis. The room appeared to be newly decorated and was great, Very comfortable bed and pillows, Great shower and a really good hairdryer! Breakfast was varied and good. And we could park our car in the hotels underground car park which was a bonus.

This was a great hotel with a bus just outside to take you to the station. Lausanne is full of hills, so having a transport card is wonderful. The staff were wonderful, some of the best I have come across and were very helpful with a few things I needed. Nothing was too much trouble, and I noticed they were the same with all the guests.

If you are comparing Ibis hotel from most Asian countries, you need to lower your expectation for this Ibis hotel then. Staffs not so friendly. Room is small. No in-room safe, no water boiler, no sleepers. Basically nothing much in the room. We didn't really feel safe when we walked near the hotel for dinner even it was only about 6pm. Not recommended.

Brilliant hotel, with very friendly and helpful staff who allowed me to check in early and provided me with a charger to charge my phone as I did not have the correct adaptor. On each occasion staff were friendly and always wanted to help. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if in Lausanne for these reasons, but also as the hotel room was newly renovated, was comfortable and had everything we needed including UK TV channel, a spacious shower and comfortable bed. Just one thing would be that bottled water could have been provided in the room which would have been even better.

Great location! Within walking distance to almost everything. When you arrive, please take a taxi from the train station to the hotel. I think you can take the bus the number 4(double check). The rooms are small and you don't get any toiletries except liquid soap, so bring your own toothpaste, lotion, shampoo or be ready to buy some at the pharmacy outside.The staff is good and very helpful. The bar is open 24 hours and the hotel is full of people from different countries. Don't panic when they ask you to pay for the entire stay when you arrive, it was different but checking out is faster. The location is absolutely perfect!

Staff are very nice. Comfortable bed, room is okay. We stayed in a room where the washroom is accessible type. I would prefer another room and tub or enclosed shower so water won’t be all over the floor.
Otherwise, the hotel is in good location.

( They said they had a power cut the day before, so that held up my check in, Plus all the others who followed me in ). Great stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Underground parking was secure - expensive, but this is Switzerland! Location was good with easy walk into the centre. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Great place to stay for a couple of nights.

A bit disappointing..

Location was very good, but with the amazing public transport this isn’t that important.
I witnessed some very rude behaviour from one of the staff towards another guest. And also saw a guest get checked in to a room that was already occupied.
Overall, you could do a lot better than this place.

This hotel was excellent for the price point. While the room was relatively small with basic amenities, it was updated, clean and quiet. The bed was very comfortable which in my experience isn't always easy to find in Europe. The AC worked great. The hotel is in walking distance to shopping, restaurants, city sites and transportation. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel with good staff

The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful and the hotel location is great. The rooms are not large but have everything you need, unfortunately our room was SO hot, we couldn’t make the air con cool it down and it was like being in a sauna, even though it was Feb and not hot outside

Nearly everything was great, of the good standard to expect from Ibis. Only issue was the room was uncomfortably warm in the night and we were unable to make it any cooler and did not sleep well as a result. However, all other aspects of our stay were satisfactory.

The stuff was super friendly and helpful. However, the cleaning service failed to clean up the used coffee cups and empty coffee/tea/sugar bags, and replace with fresh ones, so I had to go to the lobby and get those.

I enjoyed my stay here, as the location is great, being within a short walking distance from the old town, the room being clean and the staff being friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the hotel's parking garage was open to public, and with a first come-first served policy, I was left without a parking place in the evening, and was sent to an alternative location several hundred yards away, somewhat soiling an otherwise very good experience.

Great, especially for a budget hotel!

I picked this hotel based on its parking reviews, and the parking was, indeed, convenient and easy (not too tight even though this was a European city).

Room was clean and convenient - though admittedly a bit small. For the price, we got a great and even stylish stay. Only upgrade they should probably invest it (despite the budget nature of the brand) is a better hairdryer.

The rude lady at the front deck ripped me off by charging me 20 Euros when it is supposed to be 15. And the parking lot is so small. It is almost impossible to park there. I barely made it. The drainage of the shower is horrible. Any ways it is not a recommendable to anyone. Don’t go there, seriously!

The hotel was clean and comfortable and in a good location. I liked the casual check in style.. Kind of like an Apple store.. much better and much more efficient.

The staff, on all days were super friendly and helpful. Made a huge difference having helpful, smiling staff looking after the guests..

Check in was swift and easy. Ibis offered clean, simple accommodations. You get two bath towels and a shower towel. Rooms are a little small, but comfortable. To save on use of electricity, your key card is used to turn on the lights.
No free breakfast, which would have been nice.
We'd definitely recommend this hotel.
