Hotel is in a suburb of Lausanne. Room was not ready at time of check-in. Room was not prepped with linens for 2 occupants. No one answered the service desk when called. Front desk was not aware of major sight seeing spots - Lake Geneva. There was an additional charge for coffee. A/C was not reliable in June. While I was disappointed, I made the best of my stay here. The grounds were nice and clean. The surrounding area/neighborhood is not picturesque.

Underwhelmed & Disappointed

We were disappointed with the service and experience we received at this hotel.

Swimming pool was closed, this was the main reason we booked this place, and we received no advanced notice. Our son was very upset. We were told about a public pool on the lake, which is lovely btw.

We were woken up both mornings by house keeping walking into the room early. They opened the door before I could even get out of bed! When I mentioned it on check out, the staff didn’t seem that shocked!

The sink in our room was leaking. Again, when I mentioned to the front desk, he didn’t seem to be bothered, so I assume the next guest in the room will have to manage it with a towel as we did.

We had dinner in the restaurant, which claimed to use local produce, but it looked and tasted more like freezer food. Overpriced average food.

The gardens are nice but the view of the mountains is now blocked by a new build office block still in construction.

Whilst the hotel building is fairly nice, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you have a specific reason to be there.

Lovely kids friendly hotel with a natural pool and an awesome green garden. We stayed 2 night and had a great time. The beach is only a 10min. drive away. Only thing, parking cud b free at least for hotel guestd staying more than 1 night, since its an on-site parking.
All in all ery happy and would book again👌

Although we were initially concerned about it being well out of the city we were able to connect easily using the No.17 bus and the train from Rennen VD station. The hotel itself was excellent in every way. Breakfast was superb! Pool was a bit of a let down. There were plants growing around the edge of it.

Air conditioning in high rise hotel was broken. Only option was to open a large window which made it possible for small children to fall out. They called this “natural air conditioning” as if it was supposed to be like this. Very unsafe and not proper ventilation for a high rise. Parking was stated as “limited”. It is actually unavailable. We had to return our rental car because there was no place to park it. We are not picky travelers, but this is unacceptable.

Good hotel for travellers

My husband is elderly and disabled and we travel with a driver, and we book two rooms. Check-in occurs at a table and at certain times of day, there is a long line of people waiting to check in. Our disabled room was of adequate size and the bathroom was functional except lacking a shower chair or grab bar which would have helped my husband. Our driver had no complaints about his room and we all enjoyed the excellent food in the hotel restaurant. We stayed twice at this hotel as it was convenient to the toll road and comfortable enough for one night.

Spoilt by the receptionist saying they weren’t taking any money off the deposit credit card and then they took nearly £150. One week later and still not refunded causing us massive problems with our holiday budget.

Good city but awful staff and management. When we arrived there was no lights in the hallway of entire hotel and staff said they cannot do anything and we have to live with it. We waited at the dinner table for atleast 30 mins before they came to attend us. Our hostess was working on accounting right infront of us and we called her twice for help but she said she is busy and will come after done. I have stayed in Novotel multiple times before this but after this experience bye-bye to Novotel. Not recommended!

Quality accommodation a short drive from Lake Gene

Despite not being in the most scenic of locations (the hotel is near a large industrial area) the place is very welcoming, clean and well staffed. Due to a flight delay we arrived after 11pm and were able to check in fine as well as eat at the restaurant which was due to close. The staff were friendly and needlessly apologetic for having to close soon after out meal.

We had a family room which was adequate for our requirements, with a queen sized bed for the adults and a double pull out sofa bed for the 2 children. Unfortunately one of the kids had a bedtime accident and again the staff were courteous, bedding was changed and we were not charged for extra cleaning.

The bathroom in the room is separate from the toilet which also made the stay more comfortable (for obvious reasons!)

Everything was of a high standard and regularly cleaned / changed. We would unreservedly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Lausanne,

Not to the 4 star expectation. Stayed there for 4 nights with my family . Stinking toilets, none of the usual toiletries you would expect in a 4 star, only soap and 2 plastic cups. Paper cups provided for tea / coffee !!!! Breakfast was continental but can't have the same thing every day.

The hotel was fine for 1 day as a stopover. It was what one expects from the Novotel out of town hotel. Nice natural pool that opened till 10 was great for kids. Sauna and spa was good but couldn't find any robes or towels at the end of the day. Also shower at spa not working.

Stopped here en route elsewhere - had prebooked months in advance and got a great rate. Large and comfortable room for the whole family, air-conditioned, friendly staff. And a GREAT pool. Naturally filtered by plants and shingle - like a rock pool but better and the kids loved it.

Huge problem with their magnetic key cards and very poor response from the staff. We had to replace our cards 5 times in 2 days.

Used this as stopover on the way from uk to Italy, nice hotel, lovely room and excellent restaurant. Limited leisure facilities..pool only a pond outside, but nice sauna and steamroll. Stayed in the hotel just the one night but too far from centre of Lausanne or the lake to really explore the area, need a car

Parking and good location for driving to the lake.

We had a car, and I appreciated that there were no fees to park here. The location was good; we easily drove to the Lake Geneva area. The hotel was pleasant, quiet and clean. The staff was helpful when I asked about dinner cruises. I would definitely stay here again. Good value for the price.

Very convenient, although a bit standard.
Good thing is its location on a little hill, which gives you a very nice view of Lausanne. Plus nice outside pool, quite enjoyable in summer. On the downside - don't expect to have your shirt pressed or suit cleaned during weekend, but I guess Swiss are used to that.

This was by far the best Novotel check-in experience we have ever had. The staff explained everything very well and to our surprise local transportation was included due to paying the nightly surtax. Although the hotel is located away from the downtown area the transportation system made it easy to tour the city. Very impressed with the entire experience at this location.

A little out of town.

The FREE bus and metro tickets are a fantastic idea and are very useful in preventing isolation. There is a great Chinese restaurant within an easy walk,just turn up.Mainline and bus no.17 from GVA, but don't forget to buy your tickets when you arrive,
CHF 100 per person if you don't!

I stayed in this hotel as a party of 1 adult and 2 children as a stopover on our route. The hotel staff were polite and professional and the quality of the hotel was high for the price we paid. We did not visit the area during our stay so I cannot comment on the location in terms of tourism. Only reason for not giving full marks was I thought the food in the restaurant was very small portions for the high price paid although the quality was very good. We would stay here again although would eat out next time.

My stay with Novotel was excellent. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was large and the buffet breakfast was good, with a variety of choices. The open space is also large and there is Xbox 360 for people to play at the hotel concourse. There is a travel card provided by the hotel so that you can use it to travel to Lausanne city centre. The only problem of the hotel is perhaps its location, which is about 20 - 25 minutes away from Laussane city by bus and it's not easy to find for the first time, if you don't know the way to go there.

Profoundly unprofessional and cynical staff at the reception, who was not allowing to enter the prepaid room for 4 because of the 5 months old baby as a fifth member of the family and was demanding to either take the second room or find another hotel. Probably they've never heard that in any hotel all across the world babies of such age stay free of charge when using existing bedding.

Superb choice

We were looking for a hotel with a really good bathroom, a computer to use, quiet and easy to find. This was exactly what we wanted and more. It was quiet at night, a view of the lake and mountains, the room was very large. Breakfast was excellent if a little pricey but then this is Switzerland. The staff were multi-lingual and helpful. I had wanted to get some laundry done but that service is only available in the week. The only drawback was that the toilet was in a separate room from the bathroom so you have to touch door handles without having washed your hands. Novotels seem to all have this layout.

Good for a quick stop

The hotel is quite a bit away from the main part of Lausanne. This didn't bother us for an overnight stay but if we were spending time in the city we would have wanted something closer. Driving and parking in Lausanne can be challenging. The room was a bit of a tight fit for two kids and two adults but, realistically, the rooms were well laid out and clean.

I was with in a family trip to Laussane in switzerland ,we were coming from Interlaken which was our first step ,we were very disappointed by the welcoming way from the hotel staff
they were not friendly at all .
The hotel looks to be only for a business stay so robot can do the job no need for human being to work there .
I think it is Expedia mistake to post a hotel like this without pointing to that .
The breakfast buffet was horrible.
The location was far from the city .
My advise to any family going to laussane not to stay in this hotel or even think about it .

I stayed with the family - 2 adults and 2 children in one room. The room was a bit cramped - very similar to a Premier Inn - but clean and functional with a good shower/bathroom. We stayed for 4 nights which was probably just about the maximum with a family in this kind of hotel. The staff were generally very helpful - if you asked for help but otherwise left you alone (which is fine).

The overall impression of this hotel was good but there were several disappointing aspects.
The carpet in the room we stayed in was stained in several places. The towels were thin and seemed old. Although there was a kettle in the room, there were no cups or mugs or spoons, only paper cups with wooden sticks. The supply of tea and coffee was minimal, two sachets of coffee, tea and herbal tea, sugar and powdered milk.
The hotel was too far out of town and according to an internet search was some distance from the station. There was however a bus stop near. This would not be a good hotel to use as a base for sight seeing.

Front desk staff ( Georges, Sylvia, ...) were great. Very helpful. Beds were not comfortable, staff in restaurant was in rush to finish breakfast and start setting tables for lunch 30 minutes prior to the end of breakfast time. Had us sit out in sun heat so they could set up tables inside.

Very close to business office

Extremely close to the business office, so that was good, but there is nothing available in the surrounding neighbourhood if you want to go out after work as places are closed, have to commute into town for that, so you are restricted to staying in the hotel really. There was not a huge choice of food available in the hotel so that was a let down.
