It’s cheap and convenient for a stopover to the alps. The staff at reception were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

The rooms are clean, but the bathroom could do with attention. There is a significant amount of mould and staining in the shower which is unpleasant.

Long weekend in Lyon

Staff all very friendly and very helpful. Tram station is literally a 2 minute walk and takes about 40 mins to get into Lyon (2 euros), absolutely amazing service with a T2 tram about every 10 mins.

Hotel is a 10 minute walk from a lovely large shopping centre with numerous cafe / bars and restaurants.

Hotel is in a lovely position overlooking a lake. Absolutely loved our stay here.

Kings of Lyon - Reece's 18th birthday bash

Stayed here for my sons 18th birthday to go and watch WWE Smackdown and Backlash at LDLC stadium. Staff all very friendly and very helpful. Tram station is literally a 2 minute walk and takes about 40 mins to get into Lyon (2 euros), absolutely amazing service with a T2 tram about every 10 mins.

Too hot with no air con available

The hotel does not have air conditioning throughout, so in the middle of August it was very warm and the room was too hot to be comfortable in.
The staff offered a fan which didn’t help, and then switched our room (an upgrade even) which also didn’t help, but at least the room was better.
Cleanliness was relatively poor with many hairs found on sheets and the bathroom floor which was surprising.
Also a 25 euro charge per night to have your dog stay is extortionate.
The staff remained friendly and did their best to help and accommodate, but a 4* hotel should really have air conditioning throughout to make it comfortable in the midst of a heatwave.

Check in and staff were great. Always love staying at Doubletree...however, not impressed with the water leaking from the ceiling. Carpet was soaked and my allergies overnight were horrible. I can't imagine mold under carpets. We had mosquitoes (probably due to moisture) and drops were loud and annoying during the night. No managment, therefore staff couldn't do anything. A plan needs to be in place when management is not there. Not fair for front desk as they cannot do anything for customers. There should be some kind of compensation for customers when you are paying so much money.

The hotel is located way outside the main town in an industrial area. All access areas of the hotel are gated and have locked iron grills. The reception has a faux grass sofa set and blown up animals decor. The room’s AC did not work and when reported, we were told that it is a slow unit which takes time to be effective - they provided a small table fan as a supplement.

Quiet hotel on beautiful site with lake and vegetable garden. The Modern style and furnishings are cheerful and relaxed. The staff is friendly and the beds comfortable. Free covered and gate-protected parking is provided.
Only problem is that the hotel is gated with no instructions on how to open gate so I ended up parking on the street before checking in. Turns out one is supposed to use intercom to ask clerk to open gate.

Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and comfortable. We had two evening meals (menu was a bit limited with a fish allergy!). I had the same meal twice - nice, but nowhere near as good on the Sunday when the main chef was off!
About 45 min to get into the centre of town by tram, replacement bus and metro. Bit tricky on the way back as we couldn't find the bus stop for the replacement bus (not easy when your French isn't fluent!)

I've stayed in this hotel several times on business trips due to the hotels location, the staff are generally very good, the hotel is clean and set in pleasant grounds. Rooms are comfortable and spacious enough. The food in the restaurant is very good although service is somewhat slow and breakfast also does not disappoint.

Hotel was fine but too far from the airport

I booked the hotel as I was under the impression that it was close to the airport. It cost 93 euros for a return journey to the airport. I blame expedia as I put in a search for Hotels for Lyon airport. I could have stayed at a hotel right facing the airport terminals for much less once I had paid for the taxi journeys. I should have read the hotel description more closely so don't stay here if you want to a hotel close to the airport.

A very good hotel near the airport

This is a very good choice if you're stopping in Lyon to take a flight next day. It's near the airport (about 10 minutes), meaning it's outside of Lyon and there isn't that much of interest around the hotel. You'll need a car to go and see things around the area. But the hotel offers a very comfortable stay, it's stylish and up to day, and you definitely get good value.

Booked this hotel as a stopover on way to calais. Very clean and rooms very modern. Extremely comfortable beds and great blackout curtains...they helped our baby lay in! Asked for a cot in the room and they also gave us changing mat and bottle warmer which were most appreciated. Would definitely stay here again.

We stopped in Lyon on our way to Paris and we stay here. We traveled for a whole month and stayed in so many hotels and this one was by far the best baby friendly hotel during our trip. We traveled with our 18 month old and we were happy to find her play pen set with nice kid bedding, a bath tub with towel, a bottle warmer and a diaper pail. The hotel looked new with great decor and super clean. We really recommend this hotel specially if you are traveling with a little one.

The clear winner for this hotel is location - if you are working on the neighbouring business parl, that is an easy walk. Hotel staff extremely efficient and helpful and rooms well furnished, with good beds. I would stay here again if working at the business park, but would like some improvements: 1) The quality and range of the food was not great. Breakfast at €17 was below average compared to that price at other hotel chains. Room service choices limited and food could be improved (but quick service). 2) TV was annoying. TV was fixed to wall and could be swivelled in the event you are working at the desk and want to see TV on occasion. TV remote control awful. Took an eternity to change channels. Would also be good to see some English channels that weren't CNN or BBC World. If not for the location of the business park, you wouldn't return.

Good for business - if you have a car.

Hotel is located between the airport and City centre. It is in a business district with not a lot around it apart from offices and some greenery. For a business trip it was fine, I had a hire car and they have free parking which was good. The hotel is modern in design with most modern conveniences, wifi was free and of a reasonable speed - no HD viewing but covered the usual requirements. They have computers and printers with free access if boarding passes etc need to be hard copied. The room had plenty of power points including 2 by the bed which were useful for charging gadgets whilst using them. The bar has a couple of beers on tap which are a bit pricey but you are away from any competition so have to accept that. Same goes for dinner and breakfast, both good quality but a little pricey for what they were. You always have the option to go downtown anyway for a wide range of alternatives. The staff were most helpful, spoke good English and were generally very friendly. It is not right next to the airport if that is important but I found it a good location and would happily stay there again if the need arises.

I find that a bit measly in today's world, especially for the very high price of a \"cheap room. Other than that a very pleasant place. Wifi is a bit ropey too.

Very nice for the traveler inexperienced with France as it is in the middle of the technology park and clearly used to dealing with guests who speak little or no French. The front desk person was incredibly helpful with solving a problem I had. Restaurant was first rate. Rooms are definitely on the small side, though. Tram runs right by the hotel.

Modern (new) hotel with interesting style. Located in an isolated/business area but if you need to be in that location, or just need a comfortable stopover, it's fine. Very close to major roads so easy to get to.

Staff really friendly.

Only critism is that arriving on Saturday evening there were very view staff and we could only get a meal from the room service menu, after wich the staff dissapeared to do other things. A bit poor for a 4*.

Good & quiet surroundings well outside of Lyon

The hotel is very good, very clean and quite new. It is situated in a very quiet area and restful sleep was easy, due to the absence of vehicle traffic. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was just OK. I enjoyed my stay, but for the price, it is not good value for the money spent.

When we arrived the staff were very helpful and pointed out to us that they pride themselves on being an energy efficient hotel.
Rooms are very spacious and large bathroom and the hotel is relatively new.
Breakfast was pleasant.
Location was not the best for those travelling by rail as the hotel was a fair distance away from the main train station. For those who travelled by car then you would be happy for its location as they had ample parking for your car.
If you needed a tram to get to the train station then that was within 5 mins walking.
There are no restaurants close to the hotel but the hotel does a very nice dinner.

Nice hotel, but.......

Very nice hotel, but I've knocked off a couple of stars.

One star removed as the air conditioning was broken and the room was constantly cold. This was reported to reception but was still broken for my second night's stay.

One star removed as the food in the restaurant was a bit over-priced for the quality. The service was great but when you're paying that kind of money, you really should expect a better quality cut of beef. I've seen better quality beef for a quarter of the price at the local Buffalo Grill.
