Room ok but bathroom very problematic; shower water difficult to regulate, scalding hot water hard to moderate; toilet placement awkward with toilet paper rolls continually falling off the holders to the floor. Decor bland and functional, surprising in a hotel of this standing.

Je ne peux malheureusement vous parler de notre séjour car j'ai dû l'annuler le jour de notre arrivée le 30 mai à 17.11 par téléphone. En effet, mon mari a fait un choc anaphylactique consécutif à une piqure d'insecte, a été transféré aux urgences de Valence dans la Drôme et n'est sorti qu'hier, lundi 2 juin en début d'après midi. La réception de l'hôtel m'a dit devoir débiter la nuit du 30 au 31 mai. Je ne conteste pas ce débit, même si les circonstances d'annulation sont totalement indépendantes de notre volonté. Toutefois pourrions nous espérer un geste commercial sur nos prochaines réservations dans le groupe Mercure ? Dans l'attente d'une réponse veuillez agréer nos sincères salutations.

I pitty who goes in the summer...

In general, it´s a good hotel, not exactly walking distance from main attractions but close enough by Metro (4 stops).
The installations are not so great, I would expect much better from a Mercure Hotel, NO AIR CONDITIONING AT ALL, I complained about it and they said there was nothing they could do, we had to sleep with the open window, dealing with the noise of the streets.

Aside from that, good breakfast and a good enough parking.

Plusieurs choses nous ont laissés un gout amer a savoir : le manque de places de stationnement interne a l'hôtel , premier arrivé premier servi ( pas de possibilité de réservation a l'avance) d'autant que dans les environs les places libres étaient inexistantes . Dans les chambres un frigo totalement vide , même pas une petite bouteille d'eau et dans la salle de bain absence totale de tout produits corporelles hormis flacons de gel douche. A part quelques cintres aucuns rangements possibles pour les vêtements .

Convenient hotel near Lumiere museum

This hotel does NOT have air conditioning in the rooms as they state that it's too early in the year to turn it on. This is misleading advertising when they state they have AC but do NOT provide the months that it works in the rooms. I now get to spend the next 12 days in a warm room for my vacation. Cracking a window does provide some relief however, now I hear traffic during the time that I am supposed to be sleeping. Takes 7-10 days for a refund (which they refused to give all the while acknowledging the AC issue) and I will not shell out another $1500 for a hotel when THIS one should provide what it advertises....so I was stuck. Mercure ......this is terrible service and you should make AC dates clear on the advertising of this hotel. I will not use Mercure in any way in the

Très bonne literie, le personnel hyper sympa donnant de bons conseils pour la visite de Lyon. Super petit dej.
Au niveau confort, deux ou trois petites remarques pas difficile à réaliser... Augmenter la pression de l'eau dans la douche, car une fois savonné très dur de se rincer malgré la pomme de douche réglable, et un peu de chauffage dans la salle d'eau serait nécessaire car au sortir de la douche... gla-gla-gla. Un petit balais WC serait un +. Presque tout bon!!!

Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room with good facilities. Breakfast was standard but the ground floor restaurant food is excellent. Some of the best food i've eaten in a long time. The only down side was it's not open at the weekend so had to make do with sub standard food then ! throughly recommended and well worth a trip or long stay.

Average- great comfortable bed, free minibar but coke cans were damaged so afraid they would explode when opening.
didn’t reply to my request about parking and when we arrived had to park on the street because our gallery on top of the car was too high for the parking. Shower would go hot and almost burn you then cold. Carpeting on floor which I hate- but they give you slippers and robe to use which is a bonus. No restaurant in hotel available. Expensive for what it is.

Les trois personnes qui ont reçu à la réception lors de notre passage ont été trés acceuillantes , à l écoute dés la moindre remarque ou aide disponible et retour de la demande PARFAIT ...trés souriant et cela est déjà tres important surtout face à cette période. Sinon la chambre était plus que parfaite trés trés bon lit !! salle de bain impeccable aucun bruit et trés propre Bravos !! seul petit bémol surtout face à cette obligation de se restaurer dans la chambre ( il manquerait un systéme de rallonge sous le bureau pour déjeuner ( car chambre à trois et le bureau ne le permettait pas )...ou autre sur le mur de la table a repasser ....car on peut imaginer la gêne de salir prés du lit etc ....en attendant merci à vous trois pour cette acceuil

very nice experience, they ramped up for the US visitors at the World Cup. Location is convent for transport (subway, tramway, scooters) but a bit far for tourism – the place for that is on the Island

Nice hotel in the center of town !

The Mercure Lyon Lumière is a nice hotel conveniently located in the center of town next to the \"Place des lumières\" and right next to a subway station. Old Lyon is only 10 minutes away by subway. My room was clean and comfy with free Wi-fi and the rates were affordable. Hotel staff were friendly and helped me find my way around Lyon. This was a really pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Room was nice and having got a discounted price we thought it was excellent value for money. We did think the price charged for breakfast was expensive so we got a few pastries from a nearby boulangerie. The parking area is under the hotel and has some very tight corners which if you have a large estate car like us you may have difficulty getting round.

Room very nice , we had inclusive breakfast good selection.
Hotel very central in town.
We found hotel difficult to find , and had to go all around the Lyon one way system to use the hotel car park.
When we arrived man on reception not at all helpful but when checked out lady was very helpful .

The staff were very helpful, and the hotel's location is very close to the metro (just a couple of stops to get to all major parts of the city). The breakfast was also very good and offered a nice variety. The only negatives are: the parking garage was difficult to get in and out of (but at least parking was available), and one of our rooms had a terrible smoke smell.

Room not ready on arrival at midday had to wait an hour to get into room. Bar and restaurant closed all weekend and no room service available. Not what expected from a 4 star hotel more like a Travelodge/Premier Inn but at the price of a proper hotel.

Ideal stopover

The Mercure Lyon Lumiere was everything one expects of a Mercure Hotel - modern, clean, friendly staff, excellent breakfast etc. Parking is available on the premises but we were able to park right outside. We chose this hotel because it's slightly out of town and therefore less expensive and access by car is good. Didn't realise until after we booked that it is about 200m from \"Lumiere Institute\" (Lumiere Bros acknowledged as the 'inventors' of the world's first movies) and we are movie enthusiasts! We are returning to the Mecure Lyon next weekend after a week in the south. WILL DEFINITELY ENJOY AGAIN!

The hotel is in walking distance to the main train station, and subway station.
The supermarket is only one block away, easy to get drinking water, fruits, and supplies for the visitors who are first time in Paris.
People of hotel is very friendly and helpful for direction of tour Paris.

The hotel elevator is very small for holding three people.

great base for exploring lyon

This place was surprisingly smart and clean for a 3* hotel. It was conveniently situated a hundred metres away from the metro stop which then gave access to explore Lyon. The staff were very friendy, helpful and English speaking! The manager was keen to make sure any queries/problems were personally dealt with. There were also plenty of bars & brasseries round plus a huge array of beauty salons for men & women. Also lots of pattiseries & grocery shops. Having said that the hotel was quiet and relaxed - no noise from traffic or people outside. A very pleasant trip

My room wasn't very clean throughout the week. The furniture were in poor condition. The desk was missing an office chair. I had a soft arm-chair that was far too low to work on my laptop. The bathroom smelled really bad, and the ventilation didn't work at all. There was mold all over the shower seals. All of this made my stay unpleasant. I will choose a different hotel in the future.

Les chambres sont très confortables. Le petit dejeuner avec des produits locaux est très appréciable.
En revanche, une fontaine d'eau à chaque etage pourrait etre sympathique pour ne pas devoir prendre l'ascenseur en pleine nuit . Les chambres pourraient être re egalement un peu plus insonorisées vis à vis de la rue.
Mais sinon, c'etait parfait.

Deux points légèrement négatif : le ménage dans la salle de bain n'était pas top (quelques cheveux/poussières par endroit), et le prix du petit déjeuner est assez élevé, même si de très bonne qualité.

C'est la deuxième fois que je viens dans cette hôtel. Très bon hôtel, Mercure, le petit déjeuner est excellent. Un parking sécurisé, un peu cher. Emplacement que j'apprécie à deux pas de la ligne D du métro qui vous amène au vieux Lyon en 15 minutes. Un forfait 72heures et la voiture et ses tracas reste au parking. '
