Breakfast was included and was great quality. Nice coconut yoghurt with chia. Lots of fresh bread, eggs etc. Nicr to be able to grab a quick breakfast on the way out. Location is excellent, just 5 minutes from Lyon Part Dieu station. Staff all very polite and efficient. Rooms were clean but very small. Good hotel if you are travelling or out all day.

This was my favorite location that I stayed at during my 3 week vacation in France. I stayed at a location in Paris and a location in the South of France. This was my favorite. Clean, organized and well taken care of. The location was perfect. Train station is right next door plus the shuttle train to/from the airport is directly in front of the hotel. Huge mall located behind, give yourself a day - not exaggerating - The breakfast was incredible compared to the other locations and other hotels I stayed at. The Chia pudding 👌 props to whoever makes it. Lots of options. The staff were incredibly kind and approachable. My bed was SO comfortable. It was the relief I needed for my back ache. The one thing I do need to note is that the room I stayed in is not soundproof. There was a lot of commotion that I could hear in the mornings, but other than that this hotel was wonderful.( Furniture or items being moved/rolled, doors shutting) I highly recommend staying here during your visit to Lyon.

Great location across from the RhoneExpress which makes getting there from and to the airport very easy. The hotel has great soundproof windows so even though you are near the main train station, you do not hear any noise in your room. It's very close to the Westfield Part Dieu mall which has great shopping. The included breakfast was great with a wide variety of items including croissants, cheeses, and even chia seed pudding! I would recommend staying here.

The Rhonexpress Tram from the airport stops right at the front door. The Metro and SNCFstation are behind it. So transportation in and out was a breeze. Very comfy beds. Great breakfast. Lovely shower.

Cannot Be Location at Train Station Part 2

I had a 5:50 am train to catch. This was an excellent hotel for the train station Part 2. There are 4 IBIS hotels near the train station . This is the closest. I bought food at Carefour for dinner and there are several other shops for food.

Very hospitable - went to wrong Ibis (there are 5 within spitting distance of each other and have a map for people like us). Our Ibis was in a tall building, overlooked the train station (may not be to everyone’s taste), they gave us a goodie bag on arrival and had the largest room we encountered on our trip, along with coffee in the room. Grateful for the hospitality.

Main complaints were the absence of air conditioning in April and the inability to keep the window open WIDE.

They do provide water, carbonated water, coffee and croissants in the lobby.

This hotel would have been 4 if we weren’t so heated in the room.

The hotel is very close to the train station but, that brings a lot of noise with it. Standard for Europe is to have only room heat till May so there was no AC to cool the room on hot days, just had to open the windows which increases the noise level. Overall the hotel was fine, breakfast was good, staff friendly and always helpful.

Worse experience than expected

The bed was warn out and at a terrible condition. I completely sunk in it and there was a big lump on it that made it hard to sleep. The tissue box that is glued to the wall in the bathroom disconnected during the night and dropped all of our items including tooth brushes on the floor next to the toilet. I wrote to the hotel a week ago but did not get any response.

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The entire place was clean, and the staff members were incredibly friendly and accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay.

The hotel's location was perfect – situated in a good area that allowed easy access to various attractions and amenities. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the city, and the hotel's convenient location made it even better.

Literally just a few steps from the train station, this was a great and convenient location. I needed to catch a flight the next morning and the Rhonexpress to the airport was right across the street. Friendly staff, comfy bed and room, and great breakfast. Would definitely recommend!

Overall disappointing.

Positives and negatives here, but overall disappointing. Firstly, the hotel is very conveniently located for the station, with a 24 hour front desk for checking in or leaving for early/late trains. Despite having a room on the first floor facing the station platforms, the secondary glazing meant we couldn't hear any of the city noise. The staff on reception were also friendly and helpful. We had breakfast included but didn't have any, although the staff did let me grab an orange juice just after the breakfast was finished, which was nice.

However, the real let down was the condition and cleanliness of the room. The bed sheets seemed clean, but the floors, especially in the corners were dirty and the bathroom was in a similar state. There were very dirty areas of the shower and dirty marks all over the wall. Some of the woodwork round the bathroom door looked to be going mouldy. My girlfriend found hair on the desk and in the hand towels. Overall, the rom was in need of a major refresh and deep clean. The place was also incredibly dry and stuffy, despite turning the temperature settings down and increasing the ventilation, leading to a pretty uncomfortable night's sleep.

In summary, the staff are nice, location convenient and the hotel well soundproofed from the busy outside. However, the cleanliness and condition of the room was a real let down, and for those reasons we would choose to stay somewhere else next time.

The hotel is very well located for transport as at the end of tram link to airport, metro, other trams, buses and main train station. Also, very near to (Westfield) Part Dieu shopping centre. Good idea to take a flask to take hot water up to the room for tea, bring a few long life milks too. Shower very good, although horrible clicking sound on door. Staff are generally very friendly and helpful, however some of the breakfast staff a little grumpy. Very quiet rooms. But main issue is the room was too warm and no way to reduce it. No air con, or had been switched over to winter heating... and it was 25c one day (which is odd for October). The mattress was overly warm too - soft - but added to the heat - so sleeping was intermittent. Some road works at the moment in the area- but none that had a material effect. Finally, whilst good transport location, not so much for nice local restaurants - so best to make use of the transport and in 15-20 mins you can be somewhere with more choices and atmosphere.

On our last night in Lyon, we checked into the Ibis Styles to catch a 5:50 am TGV from Lyon Part Dieu train station to Paris CDG the next day it was a 2 minute walk to the train station, and hence extremely convenient. The room itself was clean, with comfortable beds, clean bathrooms. There are a couple of restaurants next to the hotel for a quick bite. We couldn't try the included breakfast as we checked out earlier than 6 am. Staff was excellent and very friendly. Recommend for easy access to train station.

Great no frills hotel for no fuss

This is a great location for those zipping in and out of Lyon. The rooms are pretty basic but clean and the bed was super comfortable (2 of my main criteria). It's well connected transport wise for getting around Lyon and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Was nice enough apart from last night when I went to reception to ask for some water for my friend they refused saying I had water earlier when clearly they advertise as water at reception my friend just had heart surgery on Saturday and he needed water for his tablets they still refused so I asked to speak to the manager and just shrugged his shoulders last time I will ever stay here it’s clearly on the hotel website free bottled water it’s not as if it’s a £50 hotel so it will be the last time that I will ever use an ibis hotel again

I definitely wouldn’t rate this as fabulous. It’s a great location and a very basic hotel not that I was expecting much but I think previous reviews are bit overly enthusiastic. The room is basic but clean. I had a wonderful view of a giant construction crane and a demolition site. :(
The breakfast is typical European hotel petit dejunier, in other words, pastries, yougurt, bad fruit and bad coffee. I’m not sure what the French have against comfortable mattresses and actual pillows.. this was not the worst but my hoodie would have made a better pillow.
All in all, it’s decent for the price and the location for a quick stay but not a long stay.
Oh and the ‘restaurant/bar’ was closed on a Saturday. Never seen that before.

IBIS Styles is better than IBIS budget and has good facilities and breakfast and is very close to the central station. We stayed overnight and they had good breakfast. Staff was very kind and fast checkin. Good welcome at the reception. Double panel windows no train noise. We had a very comfortable stay.

A number of solvable problems.

To be honest, I wasnt impressed.

The room was fine, but breakfast is an unmitigated disaster. Boil your own eggs, with no timer, a single 4 slot toaster, and most of it you have to make yourself. There are people going back and forth between the toaster, the egg boiler, the juicer, the other random machines, getting in everyones way and it's just utter chaos. Things arent laid out sensibly (butter is in small packs on the other side if the room to the toast, but the jam is in jars next to the toast so the only way to have butteted jam toast is to toast your bread, take it to your table, add the butter, then take it back to the toaster to add jam.

Apart from this I was annoyed my room was serviced when I laft the do nit disturb sign up. I had confidential information on my laptop which it was inappropriate for others to have access to. Yes it was locked but that wasnt the point.

The lack of outside card reader is also poor, meaning if I come back late, I have to have a conversation standing out on the street into an intercom about who I am.

These are things easily fixed, but - for now, not impressed.
