We loved our stay at Vell Marí and would definitely go back again. It’s an easy drive from the airport. We didn’t bother paying extra for dedicated parking and we never had trouble getting parked on the streets outside the hotel. It’s right opposite Lidl which is handy if you don’t want to take toiletries in your suitcase. The staff were lovely and the food was good and varied every day although there were also consistent options like pizza and pasta so always something for my picky eater 7 year old. The hotel was clean and quiet. Rooms are soundproof so although we could just about hear the entertainment in the evenings it wasn’t loud enough that it kept my son awake and it also didn’t go on too late. Only negatives are that I would have liked a kettle in our room as I like a coffee when I wake up. We had a microwave so I would microwave water for coffee but a kettle would have been nice. Also the air con didn’t get super cold. It was noticeable during the day but at night it felt like it wasn’t really doing much so even though we had it on the coldest setting that still felt like maybe 22-23oC which is warmer than we are used to sleeping in at night. But really those negatives are so minor, it really is a super little hotel and I have recommended it to anyone who asked me about our holiday. Thank you Vell Marí :)

Nous sommes déçus car nous avons passé 48h sans climatisation avec une chaleur ecrasante malgre qu on soit alles 2 fois a la reception le dire.
Nous avons payé une prestation tout inclus et nous avons vu des personnes en pensions complete voir meme en demi pension manger comme du tout inclus. A quoi bon payer plus cher.
Dommage car l'hotel est tres beau , bien entretenu.

Vell Mari is a resort comprising of multiple blocks of apartments, each placed around the outdoor swimming pool, which is decent in size and surrounded by sun beds. There is a separate swimming pool outside for children with a water slide and an indoor swimming pool with jacuzzi.

It is unusually located opposite a Lidl and in a primarily residential space. It is possible to walk to the beach but you are better off getting the bus or mini train, particularly in hot weather. This is a touristy hotspot, so if you want a Mallorcan experience, avoid Can Picafort.

The rooms were spacious. There was plenty of plants and some character to the resort,

Other guests are very competitive in reserving sun beds, with most taken before the pool is even open.
The kids swimming pool (outside) is not staffed. For several hours there was human faeces placed on the side of the kids swimming pool, which put us off going there.
The events staff performed a minidisco every night and performed the same routine. A couple of them did not seem to enjoy their jobs.
The restaurant has a decent selection of food and drink, however the juices are extremely sugary and there are flies on the foods and throughout the restaurant.
We had to put a €10 deposit for a kettle and a €10 deposit for an iron (no ironing boards available).

I could go on and on. This is advertised as four stars, which you pay for, but it feels like 2/3 stars.

Value for money

This hotel is value for money. Although the rooms are old, they are spacious and comfortable. We can recommend the pool view rooms, as they are near all facilities. This hotel has fantastic pool rules, so nobody must wake up early to get a sunbed as the area is closed until 9.30 am.
The all-inclusive restaurant served great food with plenty of choices, and we enjoyed dining outside on the terrace. Fitness room was a disappointment. The beach was 15 min walk from the hotel.

This is a lovely spacious complex, nice grounds, nice big pool. Food pretty standard but nicefresh fish and meat and nice eggs and omeletes for breakfast. Rooms are much better than the reviews say, and staff v friendly. The only reason we probably wouldnt go back is the way all the sunbeds are reserved at 9am and if you dont join them in reserving some you wont have a sunbed all day. It was very annoying!

We went for a family trip in can picafort for 7 nights. Generally everything was great but there is a roam for improvement. Kids loved it so much as there were many kids and many activities. Pool was great. We took a half board which is breakfast and dinner. Food was varied and nice. Lunch we ate from the pool bar which was decent. There is a shop neat the pool but you can go to Lidle which is 3 mins walk. We also loved the mini disco and the evening shows. We booked a pool view room but the room was the last so had little view to the pool. And you need to put your towel on the sunbeds around 8am as it will fill out fast.Also the beds are not great but not bad either. Staff were all very helpful and very kind. Definitely the whole family want to go back again.

This hotel was amazing and we will definitely come back! The food was great which I find is quite rare for all inclusive. The pool is amazing and there was always sun beds so could get to the pool whenever. The only thing was the snack bar was closed for a couple days (might be due to the weather but not sure). The room was great, it was very quiet which was nice so slept really well. The bed has a memory foam topper on so it was really comfortable. It took 15 mins to walk into the town but could get the bus needed which was a 2 min walk away. It was a great trip and would recommend it for couples or families!

The property on picture seems great but in reality is in need of a lot of modernisation. Close by the sea and really nice, Swimming pools are great (especially the one for little ones) but they are not clean at all. In the main swimming pool people enter without a shower and hairs in the pool as the filter doesn't actually work well. Food is great the first night but from day 2 are pretty much the same repeated things

This is a great family resort, with wonderful kid's pools, a playground and nightly entertainment. The staff is really friendly and helpful, always taking care of the customer. The rooms are nice, with a kitchenette. There are also activities during the day, which are fun. There is a Lidl supermarket right across the street, which is very convenient, but for anything else - restaurants, shops - you have to walk at least 5-10 min. The beach is about a 10-15 min walk, but very nice to spend the day. We had half board, where drinks were not included. The choice of food is great, changing every night, but the quality is nothing special. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay in Mallorca!

Good Hotel but not Centrally Located

The hotel itself it good, it has nice grounds and the pool is really nice. The bedroom was a lot smaller than expected and along with the bathroom was very basic. It came with an overly large balcony, and I don't see why the balcony was so big and the room so small! It is very quiet at night at both the hotel and surrounding area and I would 100% recommend you hire a car if you want to stay at this hotel otherwise you will be very limited to what you can do as there is nothing in the surrounding area. Parking was a bit of a problem as well as it had an extremely small car park so most people had to park on the adjacent road. The breakfast was ok, it consisted of eggs, sausages bacon, pancakes, churros, and the usual cereals, fruits and pastries. We ate dinner there once and it consisted of a buffet for around €16, again this was okay but we didn't want to do this more than once as the quality wasn't amazing. Overall, I would probably not stay at this hotel again, not because I was displeased with the room or pool (the pool was very nice), but because the location was so out the way, and if we didn't have a car we'd have been truly stuck! However if you're a family on an organised excursion you may think differently. I would recommend Port d' Palenca as this was a very nice area we visited and a lot more busy and centrally located!

Location of the hotel in Alcudia

I was looking for a hotel in Alcudia, close to the port and I chose this as it was advertised (and on the map) as being c2miles away. In reality the hotel was 10kms (Euro 20 in taxi) away and very inconvenient for the sporting event that I was due to do in Alcudia.

An excellent Hotel..

Difficult to fault this hotel.
The Hotel itself offers very comfortable, clean accommodation in very pleasant surroundings in a convenient position to both the local town, and beach. The pool complex is more than ample, and both the daytime and evening entertainment for families with or without children is also excellent.
The Staff at the hotel were also eager to please, friendly and an attribute to the Hotel. We opted for the all inclusive option, which I again would highly recommend. The standard of food was very good, well varied, and offered options for all tastes.
All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely look to stay there again.

Great family holiday

Stayed at vell mari end of aug 2013 and really enjoyed our stay. Food was amazing. All inclusive drinks included top brand names like Smirnoff, absolute which was great. Staff very friendly and grounds very well maintained. Kids lived the pool and free ice cream. We found the food a good variety and I had a lovely massage in the spa. Hired family bike (fits 5) and went down to the beach ( hard work on any hill) great fun. You can walk to the beach along a pleasant residential road. Takes about 10-15 minutes. We did it with a 1 and 6 year old with no problems. Didn't see a shuttle bus from the hotel to the beach but there is a train u can get. Overall great hotel. Would have liked a bit more information on facilities. We had an early transfer when leaving and left quite hungry by the time we got to airport and spoke to some other people from the hotel and they said u can help yourself to breakfast anytime and tea and coffee 24hrs. Too late now! Would recommend this hotel to a friend. Staff fantastic. Cleaner was brilliant.

Lovely and relaxing holiday for the family. The pool was large and not too crowded. All the staff worked so hard and were so friendly. I celebrated my birthday whilst I was there and they couldn't do enough for me, I even got a cake and champagne at our special table in the evening. Entertainment staff were wonderful with all kids of all nationalities.

Great hotel only 10 minute walk from the beach.

We had a fantastic holiday. The hotel/apartment was lovely, the staff were very happy and friendly and it had everything we needed for a great family holiday. Although some reviews complained about the room size, we found it plenty big enough for four people although be prepared for a very firm mattress! There was more than enough food and lots of choice every day. The bar was well stocked and the all inclusive package included all drinks, not just house beer and wine. The staff provided entertainment for both adults and children everyday which was fun and there was a very safe and friendly atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this hotel for families of all ages and we will be visiting Iberostar again in the future.

Don't go if you don't have/like toddlers/babies!!

We went to Vell Mari on 27th July for 1 week with 13 and 14 year old sons.
The hotel has obviously expanded it's accomodation blocks but the facilities can't accomodate the extra people. There was nothing for two teenage boys to do at all. On the first day they took a soft rugby ball into the pool to throw about to each other only to be told it wasn't allowed as it was too dangerous. (The pool police (lifeguard) was a bit power mad and took pleasure in bullying children that she thought were there without their parents.) This is because the hotel was full to overflowing with toddlers and babies! They were everywhere. There weren't enough sunbeds around the pool. You had to be up at 6am to have any chance of getting one and many were already taken by then. Also, there weren't enough seats to watch the evening entertainment either and people were dragging sunbeds from around the pool to sit on to watch the entertainment. Food in the restaurant was \"OK\". There was plenty of it but it was a bit repetative and lukewarm. The restaurant closed at 9.30pm sharp and we were told we must leave. Nowhere to move to as all seats and sunbeds were already taken by that time!!

Sadly, won't be going back, which is shame as the basic hotel etc was OK just expanded too much for the facilities available.

Good resort but location a little poor

Travelled for a weeks break and booked the hotel 2 days before leaving. The resort itself is very nice and spotlessly clean. The gardens are well manicured and the pool area adequate. The apartments are nicely done probably 3* plus, bathrooms decent, beds were poor. kitchenette sufficient but no equipment supplied such as kettle, pan, etc. deposit required for everything which is pointless, do people really want to take kettles home? Wi-Fi is a disaster, you have to pay and then can only use one device at a time and was very frustrating with a family of 4. if you do not have a sunbed secured by 7.30am you are in for a shock but the lifeguard was moving towels of those beds not being used. Food was average, not 4*. All in all a decent resort, very clean and would use again.

Stayed here in June 2013 with my husband and 2 young sons for our summer holiday. Kids thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms are clean and food was good. Staff are very friendly and gave us no cause whatsoever for complaint. Only downside is hotel location, its a little out of the way but there is a shuttle bus on offer and also a mock train which runs around resort (cost 3 euro adults & 1.5 for kids return). Kids club & nightly entertainment was good.

Great hotel for families

Lovely setting, grounds were very well maintained and there was a lot of space so despite a lot of people about you never felt crowded. One negative was there was not a shop close to the hotel. The room was very clean and although small was fine for a family of 4, but the beds were a bit uncomfortable. We loved the food and felt there was a good choice every night, and the breakfast was nice too. The staff are very friendly and helpful especially in the restaurant. The kids club and mini disco were great as were the people who ran them, our children enjoyed that aspect very much. The hotel pool was good and never seemed too crowded although there are not enough sun loungers and people do reserve them very early (despite a no reservation policy). We had fantastic holiday and loved this hotel!

Myself and family really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The food was excellent and the entertainment was good, especially for the kids, kids really enjoyed the kids club and mini discos. We stayed at Iberostar Alcudia Park last year and this matched up to that, would consider going back to this hotel and would recommend it.

fantastic for families

We loved this hotel,staff very friendly and great entertainment at night for everyone.Food was very good although sometimes very repetitive.Rooms cleaned everyday,and the gardens very well maintained.Would recommend going all inclusive as hotel is based not very near other restaurants,beach is about fifteen minutes away but well worth a visit.The only downside is the sunbeds ,first morning we came down to the pool at about nine thirty ,every bed had a towel on it.at twelve only half of them were occupied.

Not ideal room for us but we still enjoyed our holiday

We booked a standard room with a kitchenette. This was very small with the sofa to be used at night for one bed & a pull out bed underneath this for the other of the twin beds. Once the second bed was out there was very little space in the room. The fixed small table meant that it was almost impossible to get out of 'sofa' bed without disturbing the person on the pull out bed. There was a good size fridge but the kitchenette had just a 2 ring 'hob' and although there were plates etc for 2 people & basic cooking pots, there were no cooking utensils so we had to request them from reception. The room had a problem with ants. We spoke to reception about the small room/ants & in fairness they did offer to move us to an apartment but this meant moving to another hotel for 1 night & then move back again, so we decided to stay where we were. The receptionist admitted that the hotel has a problem with ants. BUT to be more positive, the reception staff were all extremely helpful, the bathroom and private terrace of the room were extremely spacious. The hotel has a large pool area too. It is a short walk (10 mins) to an well stocked supermarket and the beach and restaurant areas are also about a 15 minute walk away. There are regularly bus services (to places such as Pollensa, Alcudia and Palma) within 1-5 minutes walk of the hotel.

We actually did enjoy our week and in fact got used to the room and even the ants, but probably wouldn't return in the immediate future.

Ce que j'ai apprécié :

L'établissement a une zone en travaux et malgré tout nous n'avons pas été gênés.
Le buffet était varié et proposait de nombreux choix.
Le personnel était accueillant, chaleureux et efficace.
La piscine intérieure était bien chauffée.
L'équipe d'animation, était top:
Malgré le peu d'enfants présents en ce début de saison, elle a su mettre en place des activités et ils ont su communiquer avec les enfants malgré qu'ils ne parlaient pas français.

Ce que je n'ai pas apprécié: les murs des chambres sont fins.
Les éléments aquatiques extérieurs étaient trop froids mais des courageux y ont été.
Le jaccuzi était trop froid ou trop chaud.

Un appartement vraiment très vieillissant et pas propre.
Les joints noir de la salle de bain avec des fuites d’eau au niveau de la baignoire!
un personnel très peu ’aimable !!! Seul, le personnel de service des repas était plutôt agréable. Les personnes tenant l’accueil ainsi que le personnel d’hygiène était vraiment désagréable.
Il n’y avait pas de salle de sport, la salle de arcade 1 machine sur 10 fonctionnait.
Le ménage était bâclé, nous avions jamais le bon nombre de serviette. Il fallait tout le temps revenir à l’accueil en chercher.
La carte aimantée de la chambre et se démagnétiser tous tous les jours !!
Aucune possibilité de se garer aux alentours de l’hôtel.
La piscine fermait pour 19 heures et non 20 heures comme ce qui était mentionné dans le contrat.
Les plats étaient peu diversifié et de pas très bon goût…
Cet hôtel ne vaut vraiment pas du tout quatre étoiles, comme nous avons pu faire auparavant sur la même île les prestations sont vraiment vraiment très mauvaise.

Kamen in der Nacht an, das gebuchtes Zimmer gab es nicht mehr. Es wurde uns eine alternative Lösung angeboten. Zimmer war ordentlich und sauber. Das Essen/Buffett war umfangreich, frisch und z.T. wurden tgl. Themen (z.B. griechisch) mit angeboten. Das Personal war freundlich und machten Ihre Arbeit gut und gingen, soweit möglich auf Fragen und Wünsche ein. Die ganze Anlage wurde in Ordnung gehalten. Es gab 6Tage die Woche ein abwechselndes Abendprogramm und Nachmittag Animation am Pool. es gab eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer, z.T. aber umständlich(3Stufen nur) einstellbar. Falls sie nicht gleich funktioniert, erstmal alle Türen richtig zumachen (Kontakte an den Türen) oder das Personal fragen, die helfen einem. Das zweite Manko, das ich hatte, war in den beiden letzten Tagen, an dem eine große Reisegruppe da war, die Angst hatte zu verhungern, wenig Benehmen hatten und lange,lange im Essraum waren und das Personal an Ihre Grenzen brachten. Im allgemeinen kann ich die Einrichtung sehr empfehlen, gegenüber ist ein LIDL, die Stadt mit langer Promenade und Sandstrandt in gehweite, empfehlen ist besonders der Strandt geradeaus runter, weniger Gäste aber Kleiner, aber zu empfehlen.
Wenn wir in die Gegend nochmal fahren, gerne wieder

Questa struttura è decadente, ascensore non funzionante per 5 giorni su 10 con appartamento al secondo piano , immaginate fare le scale con le valigie in mano. In più l'appartamento è senza stoviglie anche se è stato presentato completo di attrezzatura. Conclude la pessima valutazione la presenza di Topi, ebbene si Ratti che camminavano su e giù dai balconi dell'edificio. Dopo aver avvisato la reception della presenza di ratti, mi hanno detto che avrebbero avvisato la persona competente per mettere delle trappole....mai viste. Il tutto in un contorno di musica da discoteca a bordo piscina per tutto il giorno a volume alto senza tenere in considerazione chi vuole riposare. Esperienza da evitare.

Wir waren als Gruppe mit 6 Erwachsenen und 6 Kindern im Grundschulalter im Hotel. Die letzten Jahre waren wir in vergleichbaren Hotels in Mallorca. Die Anlage an sich ist ganz schön. Gut gefallen hat uns der kleine Pool für die Kinder mit mehreren kleinen Rutschen und auch der Hauptpool, wobei der auch etwas größer sein dürfte.

Das Personal war immer freundlich und hilfsbereit. Was uns auch gut gefallen hat war die Snackbar, an der man von 11 bis 17 oder 18 Uhr Burger, Pommes, Pizza, Obst etc. bekommen konnte.

Was uns nicht gefallen hat war die Lage des Hotels, da es doch schon ziemlich weit vom Strand weg ist. Man läuft zum Strand je nachdem wo man hingeht zwischen 20 und 40 Minuten. Es fährt zwar auch eine Bimmbelbahn, aber die ist recht teuer und hat eine sehr lange Mittagspause.

Das Mittag- und Abendessen im Hotel war auch nicht so der Renner. Die Auswahl war zwar ok aber gerade die Fleischgerichte waren nicht wirklich gut. Es war zwar nie schlecht aber auch nicht gut.

Séjour rempli de belles rencontres

Le personnel est adorable souriant et bienveillant ce fut un vrai plaisir de les côtoyer tous les jours à l’accueil au bar au restaurant mais aussi les employés de ménage et les agents d’extérieur. Les petits défauts sont les chambres vieillissantes et la propreté aux alentours de la piscine même si nous le savons cette saleté est due aux touristes qui ne respectent pas assez leur environnement, quel dommage ….
Nous avons aussi eu la chance de participer aux activités gérées par FRAM avec de super animatrices.
Ce fut un séjour très appréciable et je recommande cet établissement surtout par rapport à tous ces employés et cadre verdoyant et calme.

Bra hotel och trevliga personal!

Vell Mari hotel & resort är bra hotel som passar utmärkt till småbarn familj. Mina barn badade i poolen flera timmar nästan varje dag. De har också aktiviteter för både barn och vuxna.

Frukosten är bra, mycket att välja på men en morgon fick jag mögel gul paprika som jag skulle ha till pålägg. Jag hade informerat servitören om detta.

Trevliga och hjälpsamma receptionister och även personal på restaurangen speciellt den mörka killen som blev kompis till mina barn. Min son litade på honom varje gång vi åt frukost för att servitören matade min son varje gång han gick förbi och gav klubbor om de åt upp maten.

Rummet var helt okej som har litet kök, kylskåp, mikro som man kan värna maten. Det fanns också tallrikar, koppar, glass och bestick och spis men inga stekpannor och även kastrullar så man kan inte laga mat om man vill göra det.

Städningen var okej också men städerskan har aldrig bytt nya lakan i hela veckan men det var acceptabelt eftersom vi byter inte heller varje dag hemma utan vi byter en gång i veckan.

Vi kan varm rekommendera till andra speciellt de har barn.

Preis-Leistung find ich echt in Ordnung. Wie in den Bewertungen schon diverse Male geschrieben, bräuchten die Zimmer dringend eine Renovierung. Aber es war alles sauber und funktional. Die Anlage ist schön und perfekt mit Kindern. Die Tische am Pool, Schirmständer und die Liegengestelle sollten aber dringend abends abgewischt werden. Das war teilweise echt eklig. Das Essen war dem Preis auch mehr als angemessen. Es war abwechslungsreich und lecker.

Fantastisk ophold til prisen. Hotelværelserne er ikke nye, men fin rene. Vi sov der og gik i bad, så behøver ikke så meget. Maden var fin- på dag 6 glædede jeg mig dog til at komme hjem til mit egen køkken 😊 venligt personale og fin underholdning om aftenen. Poolen var fin og ren.

Une plaie ces gens qui réservent leurs transats avant d’aller manger ou qu’ils laissent leurs serviettes toute la journée pour revenir vers 17h00(du vécu). Alors, que c’est bien indiqué que c’est interdit, je ne comprends pas que direction n’ai pas le courage dire quelque chose!!!!
Grosse surprise lorsque l’on a un demi pension, le soir au dîner on a droit que à de l’eau!!!

Panne de climatisation et nourriture infecte, pas de communication, piscine souvent fermé en plein après-midi pour une raison non précisé, bref , j ai mal mangé, j ai mal dormi, et pas pu profiter de la piscine correctement.
L' horreur, nous avons donc contacté nôtre le site internet que nous avions utilisé, nous avons été reclassé dans un autre 4 étoiles au top. Bref les 5 premiers jours a vell mari (vell POURRI) étaient un cauchemard , a fuir ne serait-ce que pour la nourriture a vomir.

Fácil aparcar en la entrada, tienen un gran problema con las toallas en las piscina, si no desayunas a primera hora y dejas la toalla , te quedas sin hamaca todo el día cuando hay un cartel que pone prohibido reservar, en mi caso, quite toallas y me puse.el ambiente es de diferentes nacionalidades pero mucho alemán.
El hotel en sí me gustó, algo anticuado pero pasable, limpio y la comida bien.

Eine wunderschöne Anlage, tolles Essen und Getränke und sehr guter, freundlicher Service. Aber - unser Studio war total abgewohnt und die Reinigung war sehr bescheiden (die Anlage an sich wird gut gepflegt).
Eine Liege am Pool bekommt man nur, wenn man diese vor 9 Uhr, wie alle anderen auch, mit einem Handtuch belegt. Da wir sowieso lieber am wunderschönen Playa de Muro liegen, war das für uns nicht schlimm.
Es handelt sich um ein absolutes Familienhotel mit besonders vielen Kleinkindern. Entsprechend ist der Lärmpegel und das Gewusel im Restaurant und am Pool. Für Alleinreisende oder Paare sind andere Hotels definitiv besser geeignet.
Ein schöner Urlaub, aber für uns als Paar kommt das Hotel nicht mehr in Frage.
