When we checked into our room, the room was very, very hot. We had to wait 20 minutes for the room to cool by the air conditioner. There was no beach chairs in front of the hotel to sit on the beach. The room was maybe 50 feet from the noisy road. We could hardly sleep at all. Very very upsetting would never stay there again.

The room was clean and spacious, bed very comfortable. Kitchenette was well stocked and convenient. The balcony was nice and had a great view. Location is excellent, direct access to the beach walk. Pool is clean and pretty.
Staff is very friendly, the restaurant is great (though I only ate there once and just had soup).

The only downside is the door to my room did not really lock, there was just a simple push-button mechanism, and the sliding deadbolt was not aligned, so it would not work. Anyone with a key could have gotten in at any time. I could not lock the door from the outside, either, when I left the room. There’s also not a safe in the room that I could see. I didn’t have any issues, and I put a heavy chair in front of the door when I was sleeping, for peace of mind, but just something to note.
If I ever come back to Kamala, I would stay here again.

This was a great stay on Kamala beach area, well run establishment with pool & restaurant & helpful staff. Great location with convenient shops in the area- all u need and tours as well. 1st hotel establishment I stayed at : did not provide in-room coffee which is a common staple in all accommodations.

We had 15 days staying in Kamala Dreams hotel It was a fantastic holiday the spacious beautifully serviced (every day) room with the superb pool (with a spa) just 2 meters from our room an excellent breakfast every morning the property had been recently refurbished and is in great condition Jan the manager really knows how to run and manage the hotel and was extremely helpful and excellent to deal with thanks Jan for making our stay so enjoyable we will be back again

Very well situated surrounded by many restaurants, shops, massage places, excursions shops just in front of it. Workers are cheerful and very helpful. Listen to clients needs. Ask for the beach view room!!!

First off I'd like to write that Amy (the owner's daughter), is an AMAZING hostess and manager! I worked in the hospitality business for 17 years of my life at The Plaza Hotel in New York City, what this family owned establishment showed me was just phenomenal. Jan, the owner was MORE than one can expect (he knows my slight problem while I was there) and was an absolute help in accomodating me. Will I return??...OH YES I WILL!!! Thank you all at Kamala Dreams, Jan and Amy...I THANK YOU BOTH even more!!

I picked this hotel because I liked the location. Right on the beach and with a pool. My initial room was a bit noisy and also I could smell the food from the kitchen but I was moved into a better one the next day.
Good things about the hotel are location (although I now prefer the other end of the beach which is quieter and doesn't have the smelly storm drain right outside) and the staff and management were friendly and helpful. Downside is that the entrance is through a not very attractive restaurant right on the road.

This hotel is a little dated, with no safes in the room (although you can use the individual ones in hotel office). Air conditioner is off when you take the key and as only one key is available - this is inconvenient. That being said - we loved the hotel. Huge room, big balcony overlooking the beach, beautiful family run buisness....recommend.

Great Location but in need of a refurb.

The location, first off, is great. Right next to the beach and also close to shops restaurants and bars. It has a nice little bar and restaurant out the back on the seafront which is great for having a beer and watching the sun go down, the food is nice too. I also must say the staff are really accommodating, I extended my check out from 11am to 4.30pm and there was no charge. Whilst my room was large, the decor was dated though and the shower didn't really drain that well and there was a gap in the window which allowed in mosquitos which was not welcome.

Had a great time, staff was awesome!

Stayed at Kamala Dreams for 16 nights and it was great. Perfect location for Kamala beach and Kamala night life. Hotel and Restaurant staff were very nice and friendly. Breakfast was tasty and a nice way to start each day. Rooms were comfy, but noisy neighbors can easily be heard. Balconies are not very private, but comfortable with a nice view of the beach and the longtail boats in the water.

Manager was nice and room ok but very dated. People in restaurant was very rude and it was so dirty that we only ordered toast in the morning.
We paid $1400 for a week here so yes was expecting much much more.
We was so disappointed that we only stayed 3 nights out of the 7..

Lovely hotel with a back gate direct to the beach

My second stay at this hotel as I like it so much. Spacious bedroom leads on to a patio next to the pool which has a small bar overlooking the beach. Staff are very helpful. The area is much quieter than nearby Patong Beach but has some excellent restaurants within 50 yards of the hotel and a 7-11 across the road for supplies.

A Great Beachside Holiday

A great sea front hotel on Kamala Beach
Our room had a wraparound balcony overlooking the pool and the beach/ sea
Good simple ala carte breakfast was included
Many shops, bars, massages,and restaurants in the area within easy walking distance
One of the best is the Kamala Beer Garden with good food, cold cheap beer, great old Rock music and two pool tables
The beautiful waitresses are excellent pool players and very attentive to the patrons
Many local regulars indicate how great this bar is even though it is located on the main highway through the village
Kamala Beach is one of the few remaining beaches in Phuket which has restaurants and bars on or very near the beach
The usual water activities are available
Golf though expensive is popular and of high standard on Phuket
Come enjoy Paradise

Fantastic location but other things could displeas

Awesome location to beach and my room was spacious with a great outlook over the sea and a cute poolside below - but it’s caught in a timewarp. It hasn’t been updated in too long. Staff also y need to be retrained and updated in what’s now acceptable in hospitality. For example - room is clean but shutter door to bathroom has dusty parts and kitchen surfaces are clean but food sits out uncovered for far too long.

I’ve seen negative reviews but Thailand’s a SE Asian country with laid back pace and different culture. Great value here if you can ignore the said negatives but this hotel may be difficult for those who aren’t.
Apart from manager staff have limited English and are friendly but reserved (take time to warm up to you). What’s difficult is absence of General Manager who is away a lot but needs to be there for staff morale and the various issues staff can’t deal with. Having said that he's a likeable chap.
One main reason for booking this Hotel was its free wifi which was reported as being very good. I needed access for completing arrangements to deadlines but couldn’t get internet and despite repeated requests it wasn’t sorted. Staff didn’t want to reset internet to my room and many requests for manager unsuccessful. However, I’m right on a beach for sun, sea and relaxation so enjoyed those instead.

Wasn't really sure on first arriving as this hotel is attatched to a little restaurant so there is no reception etc, you simply come off the street into the restaurant. It's kind of hard to know who to ask for help if needed. Hotel room was nice, very basic but we didn't spend much time in it anyway, no safe or tea/coffee making facilities. But apart from that we had a lovely stay, great location right beside the beach and some fantastic places to eat nearby, also they let us stay well after check out as we had a very late flight so being able to freshen up after a day on the beach before travelling was very well received.

Good Value for Budget Conscious

Situated in the heart of Kamala this boutique guest house offers good sized studio accommodation with great views. Only drawback is the rooms get quite stuffy late in the day and the old air-conditioners are working tirelessly (and noisily) in order to cool the rooms down.

We felt that this hotel didn't look as good as the photos would suggest. The owner was very friendly and the hotel has direct access to the beach but we decided that Kamala was too quiet for our likings and left straight away. The owner said he would have given us some money back but we booked through this website so he couldn't. If you are looking for a basic place to stay and a relaxing beach then this would be fine. For us, we prefer more options for restaurants and shops and were used to newer hotels at a cheaper price (to be fair we had just come from Patong).

Clean and close to the beach

The hotel has back access straight into the beach which is great. The staff are polite and my room was always in great condition (towels and room cleaned very nicely everyday). Breakfast is a choice of eggs,toast, bacon/sausage or myself, yogurt and fruit with tea/coffee and juice. You pay for what you get!

Lovely small locally owned hotel

Between narrow tourist street and beach - you can watch the world go by over breakfast, lunch or dinner and walk out the back straight on to the beach. Family run by locals. Simple but clean rooms. Perfect if you want to avoid large chain hotels.

Confusing lift, Room numbers don't match the lift. Rooms 5** are on the 6th level.No signs in lift to tell you where the restaurant, reception or the pool level are. Kitchen area with no crockery or cutlery. Dangerous gutter lip at the edge of the balcony makes it easy to trip over the too low balcony rail.

Ett trevligt familjärt hotel med bra centralt läge vid stranden. Vårt rum hade direkt tillgång till solstolar och pool. Det var tyst, lungt och bekvämt. Trevlig och hjälpsam personal. Enkel frukost. Restaurang med utsikt över strand och hav. Ingen badstrand i direkt anknytning till hotellet men en kort promenad till en fin sandstrand med flera restauranger och affärer.

Dette er stedet i Kamala Beach hvor du vil bo. Du vil bo her for den fantastisk lokation. Hotellet er placeret direkte på stranden, så du skal ikke gå over en vej. Det er kun 20 sekunder, så er du på stranden fra dit værelse.

Her er stille og roligt, selvom det er inde midt i byen. Ingen larm om natten.

Hotellet er ejer af Jan (hollænder) der har boet i Thailand mere end 40 år. Meget flink og hjælpsom med alt.

Morgenmaden fejler bestemt ikke noget, men udvalget er ikke ret stort.

Der er intet lukus over hotellet, men der er det der skal være.

Så er du til et hyggeligt roligt familiedrevet hotel med den helt rette placering, så skal du bo her.

Er du til luksus og en kæmpe morgenbuffet, skal du vælge noget andet.

Bra pris på hotellet. Vi fick vad vi betalade för. Smidig frukost, ok poolområde med något slitna solstolar. Balkongen var bra - vi såg havet från vår balkong. Rummet hade pentry och bra golvyta. Badhandukar ingick i rummet. Restauranten mot havet var helt ok.
Trevlig personal. Roligt med en pocket-hylla med böcker från hela världen. Ta med och byt!
Bästa massagen rätt över gatan. Matmarknad en bit bort och taxi i närheten om man vill åka till andra ställen.
Området var relativt lugnt, mycket mer avkopplande än andra delar i Phuket.

Stället hade magiskt bra läge MEN det grumlas av att bilderna på ett fräscht vitt hus = ett daskigt brungult hus med väldigt rörigt i restaurang så det enda vi upplevde positivt var den trevliga engelsk mannen som tog emot oss och utsikten/läget!

Detta ställe behöver definitivt en upprustning och rensas av på rörigheten i restaurangen

Nice, but old beds!

Great place, next to the beach. Wonderful restaurant, Dreams. The girls working there, housekeeping, are really nice and friendly. Although the bed is really old so you can feel the bed springs. Terrible. I ended up paying for an extra bed and had the beds on top of each other. The swimming pool is nice, but not the cleanest.

Lit de la chambre 106 pas confortable, la femme de chambre a ajouté un petit matelas mais pas concluant.
Le petit déjeuner n'est pas à la hauteur du prix payer pour séjourner dans cette établissement.
La chambre 106 bruyante, elle est situé près du bar à crème glacée et le soir du bruit jusqu'à 22h30

Very sweet staff who is kind to animals and that’s a big plus!
The restaurant serves good food, but somehow it needs some cozy lighting and good music thus more people come and eat there in the evening instead of choosing the restaurant on the other side.
