Stayed in a family room. Price for 2 adults and 2 kids was great. Very convenient location for an early airport departure. Great location for a visit to Rainbows End or Westfield and a choice of eateries on your doorstep. Staff were very lovely and helpful and room had everything we needed. The room was just very tired and in need of a little TLC to get it back to its former glory. Bed linen and towels were spotless

The room was in appalling condition, walls thick with dust, holes in the bathroom wall, black mould in the shower. Water leaking from the refrigerator, hot plates filthy, television didn't work. Mattress on the bed collapsed.

My stay at Rayland Motel was generally a good experience. The room was comfortable, and the overall service met expectations. However, there were a few maintenance issues that could be improved. The toilet was not flushing properly, there was no hand wash provided, and the kitchen lights stopped working during our stay. Addressing these small issues would make the experience even better.

There is noise from the motorway ramps as to be expected and the place is a bit rundown and tired but you get what you pay for I guess.

Great location for access to South Auckland and motorways, a very easy walk to the Westfield Manukau.

We stayed in a one bedroom suite.
Young kids loved the stairs and the windows down to the main area, from the bedroom upstairs. We popped the single mattress from downstairs into the upstairs room, to sleep all four of us in the one space.

Toilets took a few flushes to completely clear, which was a little unnerving but okay. We also popped a little paper in some of the road-facing windows, just to get a better seal from the road noise - others might not be bothered by the noise though.

Staff were awesome and so willing to help.
Overall, we enjoyed our two nights stay here. It was a good base for our activities.

Great staff who very helpful at check in. We had the family room which kids like. Room had 2 air cons so was warm. And great shower and great daily service. Beds are comfortable and clean. The building is old and so are the rooms. The sofa was delaminated, the TV had no sky, and no WiFi or Internet connection. And the room table had no power points neareby. And no power point near the downstairs bed. I had to buy a 5m extension cord to power the computer. And no hot choc sachets for the kids. Got the tea and coffee but no hot choc.

This is our second stay here this year. We love the location close to the motorway. The family unit is great because there are beds and a toilet upstairs, and another bed with bathroom downstairs. So the kids feel like they have their own independent area. We did hear a bit of noise from the adjoining room this time, but overall it’s reasonably quiet.

Room didn't have spare pillows or extra blankets. While there was a heat pump, it was cold night and this didn't necessary heat the room quickly or overly. Good for a quick overnight stay to crash.

It's not the Ritz but the price was right for our family of 4 and also worked for us. Receptionist was very friendly and helpful. No milk in fridge, only have those cream small packs. We stayed up in the two storey unit had bathroom down stairs and toilet upstairs so that was good. Good Aircon as well but you can hear people in the unit next door walking up and down the stairs and sometimes talking and at times it can sound very loud in the early hours of the morning. Unit was cleaned on the daily and fresh towels bought in so that was nice. Couches and chairs need to get upholstered as were ripped or had holes in them. It is tucked behind shops and their sign under the Valentines Sign seriously needs to be updated/repainted. Literally 3mins from the Auckland Temple and less than a minute drive from Manukau Westfield Mall.

The Rayland is a low/middle grade motel. In decent repair but older and worn. Good for a 1-2 night stay. It's in an end of the road cul-de-sac on the back of a strip of small shops/restaurants. Many small and medium sized restaurants in easy walking distance. The room had a kitchenette with hot plate, microwave and refrigerator. Decent sized room and bathroom. A/C was cold. For the price it was decent. Just the pillows were dreadfully soft thin. Thicker, firmer would be appreciated.

We had some guys in the room next to us who had there music up loud, they were yelling swearing banging on the walls this went on to 1.30am in the morning, in the end i called the office all he said to them was turn the music down please then left . Well the music was turned down but the rest carried on till 2.45am. Holy crap the amount you pay you should expect better then this, definitely not coming back here again.

Excellent location directly across the road from Rainbows End, and a short walk to Countdown supermarket and Westfield mall. There’s an excellent Valentines restaurant across the car park too. We were able to park up and walk everywhere we needed to go. And it was just a minute’s drive to the motorway on ramp, which was great for me because I don’t like negotiating city roads.

Our family room was huge. There was a couch, table, bed, kitchen and full bathroom downstairs, and another 2 beds and toilet upstairs. It was great for the kids to have their own space and useful having a separate toilet upstairs so no one needed to go down the stairs in the dark at night.

Staff were nice and the traffic noise was ok with the windows shut.

The only complaints I would have is that there wasn’t a hook or rail to hang shower towels from in the two bathrooms, and the tv didn’t work properly (static noises and picture every couple of seconds, whatever the channel).

But I would stay again because of the location and spaciousness.

We stayed as an overnight transition to flights. The room was very limited and cold. The situation near the highway and with windows that did not seem to shut properly meant for a lot of road noise. The shower was very high off the ground and there were no grab bars to assist you stepping into the shower - unsafe. The room lacked ambiance and felt cold and uninviting. Although there were two \"bedrooms\" one was under the stairs and the upstairs room only had access to a toilet (no shower). No privacy for the bed on the main level.

The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was convenient for a transition evening before a flight.

No worries about parking there is plenty. Receptionist was friendly and approachable. The room was very convenient for our needs. Only hate is blocked drains when showering and flushing toilet. Was bearable however, after we did a temporary fix. Would stay again as there are more pros than cons. Close to restaurant options, Manukau mall and rainbows end all within walking distance.

Curtain missing, dirt and grub stuck down a very rough couch, ants in the kitchen, cupboard not level and door wouldn’t close, dining chairs missing.

Do not waste your money at this Motel

Rayland Motel is a terrible motel to stay at. The receptionist was not friendly, the room smelt musty, there was a hole in one of the walls, the table was old and held together with blue tac😳, the blankets were old and thin and the worst part was when I got into the bed there were bed bugs😡. We stayed there for 2 hours and I couldn't stand it anymore so we left. The Sebel hotel is right next door and I wish I had booked there instead.
Whoever owns the Rayland Motel really needs to invest some money into this place because it is old and run down and I would not recommend the Rayland Motel to anyone.

This place is very convenient to Rainbows End, shops, food places and the airport.
It took us a lap to find it. The sign is faded and it is up a little drive next to a smorgasboard resturant.
Silly me didn't notice the air con. I was looking for a heater and we had a cold sleep.
It could do with some work but then it might not be the good price it is.
Big room.
We would stay here again.

This Motel has so much potential to be an amazing top rate place to stay but it needs some effort, time and money put in to upgrade it to bring it to a standard inline with its full potential. The motel is in a prime location with walking distance to the mall, theme park and a great range of dining options. The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. You could see the room had been cleaned but it was as if it was with poor quality cleaning agents. The glass table was streaky and the benches looked wiped but not fully clean. The inside of the room looked outdated and run down with bogged up holes in the walls which were unpainted. There was a damp musty smell in the room from lack of ventilation although it smelt like some air freshener had been sprayed. The windows in the shower and kitchen were too small and didnt ventilate the room properly. There was a spider web hanging down from the ceiling over the bed and the shower had a cheap fitting which didnt hold the shower head properly in place. Also the seal on the shower was hanging half off. The main office desks were cluttered with papers and made the whole entrance look scruffy and cheap. It had a backpackers feeling. The sad part is that with a fresh coat of paint in the rooms, an upgrade in the showers, kitchen etc and putting a few simple towel rails and hooks up and with a bit of effort into tidying things up this Motel could be amazing and become a top rated successful business and awesome place to stay.

They did nothing for the inconvenience that I faced... 😑 for the first couple of days....They change room after 2 nights.

They ask me to go to a different motel (They did not try to fix the problem in a hurry) Took time and they did not do anything about that inconvenience..

The room was ok. A little out dated and while there was a hole in the bathroom wall, the door had a new handle fitted with a hole from the old handle still there and the frame was in partial repair it wasnt the end of the world.
It looked like they had recently installed a new TV but leaving it in \"store mode\" meant you had the screen showing you all the features of the TV like it is when on display.
But overall it was ok. The office staff were nice and helpful.

We booked 2 rooms and the room my parent's stayed in had so many cockroaches. We were in and out of our rooms as we were there for a funeral but we noticed all the cockroaches at night and the cutlery was dirty and unwashed. Pretty expensive for a motel with very poor conditions. Very disappointed.

The room smelt of Mould and horrible. The shower has black mould on the roof. The fridge was all rusted at the bottom. The bed only had sheets on it and no duvet. The blankets we found smelt horrible and unclean. For $150 per night, it was not worth the price. I swear I was being bitten all night by bed bugs.
