There are areas that need a little TLC. The rooms ive stayed in have been immaculately clean, with fresh bedding and towels. The best complement I can give is how how professional and friendly the staff are. Gemma A, Hardeep, Diptii, Roxana and Malika are amazing.

The room was clean , I can not say it was spotless as it needs a spring clean . Their were stains on the chair and carpets and plaster was falling off the wall by the door.
The amenities were good and the staff were excellent on arrival and check out The breakfast was very good .
I would return for another stay .

The room was fairly clean,however the bath and toilet had someones 😳 p/hair in and on .
Not really what you want to see or have to clean away.
And one of the bath towels had a dirty mark down it,luckily enough we had a spare one in our luggage.
We had booked breakfast but on arriving we had to ask staff to ask the chef to cook more items bacon,hash browns,mushrooms,eggs ! And this was b4 9am then no milk in the coffee machine ! Your restaurant staff wete really helpful and polite but ! Food items such as these when you know youve got breakfasts booked,is a bit of a rookey mistake for the chef.
And also bbeing told £10.00 car parking fee when your using and staying at the hotel is not acceptable by any means how do you expect to promote the hotel with that,i queried it and we didnt pay it but i shouldnt of had to do that.you have a lovely hotel but you cant sit on your laurels you need to promote the good things about your hotel.

I was charged the wrong price at check in. Too much. When I queried this he then had to check if I could stay at the price I had booked. The room was freezing. I had the heating on all day and all night and it didn’t work and the room didn’t warm up.

Well, where do I begin? The room was so dark I half expected Sherlock Holmes to pop in with a lantern. I’m fairly sure the carpet had seen more action than the London Underground—grimy enough to make me consider wearing shoes to bed. Speaking of the bed, let’s just say I wasn’t alone… and not in a romantic way. Bedbugs clearly thought they’d booked the room first.

If you’re looking for an adventure in pest control and dim lighting, this is your spot. Otherwise, perhaps bring a torch, a hazmat suit, and a sense of humour.

The staff were lovely and made booking in a pleasant experience. The room was spacious and clean, but smelled a little musty. Could have done with an airing first. Bed was comfortable. The power cut first thing in the morning was a bit of a challenge but it did eventually get sorted. The midday checkout made life a lot easier. I couldn’t stay for breakfast because I had already made other plans so I can’t really comment on it but I’m sure it would’ve been nice. I would book again if I was going to be in the area again. Overall a pleasant hotel.

I booked this hotel through Expedia for 3 rooms for a late night return flight from Venice.
I booked to pay on arrival. For some reason, on the 20th September, a payment was taken by the hotel.

I messaged them via Expedia on the 20th, no response, i messaged again on the 24th, still no response.
I rang on the 27th and after 15 minutes on the call, it got answered then cut off. I rang again and 7 minutes later I was told this would be looked into and I would be called back. That didn't happen.

I rang again on the 29th and was told this had been looked into and a mysterious sometime had taken the payment it was a genuine mistake and wouldn't be a problem, we could pay the balance on arrival.

Go to 03:15 on the 19th October. We arrive after a delayed flight. I speak to reception to check us in.
They only have one room booked and no trace of any pre-payment.

I had the presence of mind to record the conversations I had and played them back, including the part where I stated I did not want any issues at check in following our early morning arrival.

I had to email that recording and I also emailed my confirmation from Expedia as proof.

It turns out the mysterious someone had not recorded the details of the issue I had with the pre-payment so they knew nothing of this.

Eventually 3 rooms were secured and I was able to only pay the balance which I had to calculate for them.

I'm not blaming the night staff, but this was atrocious.

It didn't improve in the morning.

On arrival/check in the member of staff on the deck was rude and not very forthcoming with information regarding my stay, like breakfast times and where to find the room. After finding the room I got inside to find a stained carpet and the room had a damp smell, this was bad enough for me to carry my bags back to the front deck and ask for a different room. When asked why I showed the rude woman a video I took of the carpet. Her reply was it’s not a dirty carpet but just an old carpet. The second room that I was given was just as bad. I did ask for my money back but was told they couldn’t because the booking was made through a third party. I’m going to upload all of the photos I took of the rooms. I also want to mention the photos on the website don’t not reflect this hotel at all.

No food available when though we were told the restaurant was open until 20:30 and we requested food at 8pm. No choice at the bar, no lime, stood at the bar for 10 mins before anyone came to serve us. Generally tired hotel. Breakfast was average at best and coffee machines didn’t work properly and the drinks were Luke warm. Bread was moldy. Very noisy at night and woke up to noisy waste disposal outside the room.

Shocking Hotel stay

Not the best start, we arrived Friday and the reception charged me nearly the same price for my room as the price for 2 that was booked even though I showed confirmation. One room the door wouldn’t lock and could be pushed open without using key, when questioned at reception I was told to wait and someone would see me, half hour later we eventually had to the explain again to someone about the door not closing, after a time we asked to be given another room only to be told there wasn’t one and when I said I wanted a refund and I would go somewhere else miraculously they found a new room.
Staff are not friendly also in the bar we got a drink and the service was terrible with our glasses and bottles being slammed on the bar. No smiles either civility doesn’t cost anything.
For a stay that should have cost £300. they tried to charge £364. Hotels.com please be aware they are blaming you for sending the wrong prices to them, I eventually got my money back from them.

Also breakfast was a shambles, food not hot and looked like it wasn’t cooked properly, today we waited for 20 mins to even be seen to let them know we arrived, eventually we walked out and went to the local Tesco cafe for a well cooked and hot breakfast.

Overall I think this hotel needs a massive shake up and staff need to be retrained to treat people with respect and I and all of my friends will definitely never stay there again.
If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Never ever ever will I stay there.

My partner & I booked a double room, but on arrival were given a twin as no double rooms were available, after 1 night, we saw water dripping from the light in the bathroom & a big lump of human poo on the shower curtain, even though the cleaner had just left our room & failed to notice this, the head cleaner happened to knock on our door to check it had been cleaned shortly after, she was very apologetic, helpful & moved us to a double room immediately, the hotel is definitely overdue for redecorating

The room was noisy, kept awake by the traffic, tv is freveiw and has no access to netflix or any other streaming platform, i have stayed in cheaper hotels and had that option, not asking you to pay for it, but at least have the option to allowme to sign in the my own account, can do this at premier inn or holiday express, and the cheaper place i stayed the night before and will be staying tonight, as only £50, breakfast was ok, parking bays are tiny just about get out of you car

Got to hotel early so knew we couldn’t check in but thought we would go to restaurant and have coffee and sandwich, as we hadn’t eaten at all and travelled several hours. No restaurant open we was told it didn’t open until 5pm. Had to travel into town to find somewhere. Anyhow when we returned turned out bar opened at 3.30. This is a basic hotel, suitable for an overnight stay. The hotel itself is dated and general signs of wear and tear can be seen. Beds were okay, got a decent night sleep.

Positives: They provide shampoo, conditioner, body wash. The room had air con which is a plus in the summer. Plugs by the bed which is helpful as someone with sleep apnea. Good selection of tea and coffee.

Downsides: our room was a decent walk due to the set up of the building. Corridor smelt of illegal substances. The person who checked us in wasn’t very welcoming, didn’t give us a good feel of the place on arrival. When we opened the curtains all the way in the morning, there was a pair of someone else’s socks with mould growing, I did inform reception though and felt like they would have passed it on to housekeeping.

I don't like that they now ask you to fill out a customer details form at the check in desk. This information could be requested before your stay, or not at all since you have the info on the booking.
I've always enjoyed the nice toiletries and clean fluffy towels at this hotel. The room condition is hit and miss. Some are well maintained, others not at all.

When this was booked through yourselves the confirmation stated that breakfast was included. we booked into the hotel and was told that we had to pay £12.00 pp per morning for the breakfast and also £6.00 per night for the parking. The receptionist was not very good and the hotel did not look like it did in the photos. It had been a long day and what with the heat I did not think about the breakfast until the next morning. I spoke to the receptionist and showed her the confirmation and she said is was not on her screen. We asked for a refund which was reluctanlty given and we went for breakfast elsewhere. We had gone into the bar the Friday night and ordered a vodka and coke to be told that they had no vodka. The bar person was not very good and seemed like he had other things on his mind. The hotel as a whole needs updating. The bathroom was basic and there was rust around the bathroom tap and in some places the paint was peeling, the toilet roll holder was non exisitant and just placed on the side and the bed and pillows were not very comfortable. I will not be staying at this hotel again

The disabled parking seems to be enforced now by the signs which is a positive since the last visit
Upon check ln the staff were very rude and failed to communicate properly. The girl put a piece of paper on the desk and said to fill it in but wouldn’t say what for. We tried to say we already booked and paid as we felt the form was to to book a room
This has been happening before and has been mentioned in other reviews on here.
I also find it disgusting that there is a charge for parking

The hotel was fine, but lots of little niggles keep it from being great. It is noisy, the air con didn’t work, the bath tap dripped, you can hear water noises in the pipes, the pillows were quite lumpy and there was a strong & unpleasant smell in the corridor.
I didn’t feel unsafe, but I also didn’t explore the hotel facilities as I was there for 1 night of work. The carpet was new and the room was clean. I slept decently. It was fine. I wouldn’t book again as there are many better hotels in the area.

Really slow check-in. OK breakfast. A looong walk to the room, but on the ground floor, with three steps to negotiate if you've mobility issues. Mine was a dog-friendly room that if she'd been with me ours would have appreciated. Carpets worn, general feeling was of the Hotel being a little tired, though lobby and bar areas were smart. Easy, secure, parking, and good value pricing being close to London, Stanstead, and the M11. I had their Caesar Salad for my supper, from a limited bar menu, and it really wasn't very good (but filled a hole!)
I'd try somewhere else should I have to travel down to Harlow again.

Cant complain as only paid £40 per night but i am as by far the worst hotel i have stayed in and i have travelled a lot.
Reception unmanned on arrival - had to wait 10 mins to be served
Room ok but fire door in corridor outside room banged most of night. Not conducive to a good nights sleep.
Occupants in room above seemed to have a fight couple times in night, shouting, swearing and banging around room at midnight and circa. 0330 in the morning . Complained to reception - not aware anything done.
Breakfast was luke warm at best - bacon cold, fried eggs cold, hash browns overcooked and solid..

Check in was quite time consuming, the chap didn’t really know what to do and didn’t offer any info on what time breakfast was and where our room was etc.. we have stayed a few times, and we have always thought the hotel very tired and run down so wasn’t expecting much especially for the price we paid, but was pleasantly surprised, it looks like the place has been repainted and freshened up. Breakfast was a shambles, one young lady having to deal with everything, the hot plate was always empty as people waiting for food and then as soon as it was bought out it obviously went straight away, no knives on any tables, not enough seating for everyone, when food was available it was very tasty.

On arrival the lady at the front desk was not very welcoming, she threw a piece of paper down with no explanation. Since I had book/paid online I was unsure why I was filling it out. When I had asked a question she was rude and snappy. There was 2 people working in the bar and the lady was very rude. She took our order but seemed annoyed and like it was inconvenienced by this. I had asked for a glass and she slammed it on the bar. Multiple members of staff were rude and unhelpful.

There was a man screaming, swearing and kicking doors from about 3am for an hour.
I booked breakfast with reception but breakfast staff knew nothing about it.
When getting coffee from the machine something came out of the machine into the cup, long and thick, no idea what it was. Breakfast was not worth the money and was quite dried up.
Staff were lovely.
Have stayed here before many times but probably won’t stay again. It’s gone downhill

Breakfast was ok. But was bit cold and seemed little dry.
I think £12 for breakfast is little to much most hotels I have worked in or been to have two different set prices for full breakfast and continental breakfast. Specially if you are wanting guests to spend there money in the hotel and it would profit the kitchen food spend better and save on the waste maybe introduce the to good to go to reduce waste on food. Few hotels up in Newcastle are doing it.

The room was nice and relaxing. One thing I would recommend is as the hot water can burn is to have signs saying careful hot water.

Overall I was satisfied and felt comfortable and welcomed. Thank you

Terrible. Our heating was broken and so I spent most of the night shivering as I was so cold I could not get to sleep. The whole room smelt like toilet - it was awful. Breakfast was below average and the breakfast staff weee terribly rude to guests that were asking why there were no eggs available. A reasonable question you would think - but clearly not for the two staff members. We expected budget but did not imagine something as poor as this. We also complained. The receptionist said she would ‘send an email to management’. We’ve heard nothing.

Couldnt get heating to work,probably why there was a plug in oil rad which gave out no real heat.the room was cold and no extra bedding given to layer up.my wife couldnt sleep as she was cold.if it was full price for this room i would have complained or was this price given as this room was inadequate for purpose.

Won't stay again.

Check in took 40mins. The receptionist's communication in this time was non-existent. We had pre booked but she couldn't find a dog-friendly room available until another member of staff arrived and pointed out that they were available. When we arrived at the room it was a twin instead of the double we had booked. Given the lengthy process of getting a room, we weren't for trying with the receptionist to sort it. There were pet urine stains on the carpet and walls. The money collected as a deposit to house a pet should be used to sort this.
The room key had to be reset several times even in just our short stay, and our room was quite a trek from reception so this became frustrating.
We had paid for two nights but left after the first.

The property was decent, and the staff were accommodating. I wish they had an elevator or another entrance to the far end of the hotel. Walking back and forth to my room was kind of a trek.

Nice place to stay though.
