The room was nice and spacious with a good sized double bed although mattress wasnt as comfy as it looked.
The ensuite was built into the corner of the room and was quite small, and when having a shower, the floor would become flooded. This would explain the damp smell when entering.

Stayed here several times when in the area for work and always happy to come back. This latest trip was for several nights. A great value pub which has good food and a nice atmosphere. Rooms are quiet and comfortable with everything you need. Breakfast is also very good, with lots to choose from and cooked well. Overall, just what is needed.

Great place to stay, and I often stay here when working locally. Lovely place with great staff and really good food. Was the first time I had issue with noise from other guests though. The place is usually really quiet, so it was just an unlucky night I guess. Great value place though.

A convenient location for my needs on the edge of a really lovely village. The room was clean and a good size with everything expected including lots of coffee supplies which is always nice to have. The pub was lovely and friendly and had a nice atmosphere. The food was excellent. The evening food menu is reasonably priced and has a good range to choose from. Overall it was excellent quality. Breakfast was also really good with a broad range of options and served quickly with great service. Excellent value for money and a nice place so will be booking in to stay again in the future.

Overnight stay en route to Manchester. I was looking for a hotel not far off the M6 that would break up my journey. It was a little further than I wanted but it was a lovely drive. The hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable. The staff were really lovely and friendly and breakfast was thrown in too. Nothing fancy but enough to get you through the morning. Very good. Flying visit and an early start so was unable to take advantage of the breakfast but staff were welcoming, a nice pint of Guinness and some pork scratching in the bar before bed was great.
Room was good, only suggestion would be some usb charging ports on the plug sockets.. I forgot my charger but had these been available it would have been possible to charge using the car usb cable!

Traditional pub, with room 5 being very clean and comfortable if a bit dated. Great value though, in a quiet and easy location. Pat the chef and barman was extremely helpful and it’s a place that I’d go back to again. Great pint of Directors!

We stated, quite correctly, that we had booked 2 doubles for 3 guests but were stonewalled with a negative response that made my companions very uncomfortable, as this was attracting the attention of all the clientele
Eventually, the landlady appeared and told us that she could not book us in unless we agreed to paying an extra £30. As my companions were getting embarrassed, I agreed to this.
We were shown to our rooms which both had a double and a single bed!
We came back down for dinner and were asked to move from the quiet table, that we had chosen because we wanted our conversations to be private. We had to refuse twice before our choice was permitted. Our food arrived more than an hour later and to say it was poor would be an understatement. Some parts of it were inedible!
The beds were very uncomfortable, with inadequate bedding for the season and the cheapest sprung mattresses to lie on.
Breakfast was reasonably good and served quickly

It was very friendly and the rooms were very clean. I would say the beds are on par with those in the Premier Inn, which are known for being very comfortable, which at the price means the crew arms is very much worth the money.
In addition as I leave early mornings for work and could not make breakfast. I was even given a sandwich and crisps every day to make sure I have something with me.

I decided to stay here based on the reviews and I wasn't disappointed. It was a nice, large comfortable en-suite room in an annexe to a pub. There was plenty of parking space and it was off the main road and was quiet. I very much appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the breakfast that came as part of the price for the room. Friendly people, clean and comfortable room with ample supplies of toiletries and drinks. Breakfast was very well cooked and presented and wholesome - anybody who says they went hungry from here are not telling the truth!

Great stay with fantastic tapas menu!
We stayed overnight at The Crewe Arms to break a long journey and it exceeded expectations.
Nice room with plenty of fluffy towels and generous service tray.
Dinner was very good - we ordered from the tapas menu and were not disappointed. The service was also very attentive.
Breakfast was full English with choice of cereal and yoghurt, so no complaints.

Good service and friendly staff. This was a business trip and unfortunately the WiFi connection kept dropping and it was difficult to connect. Unfortunately as the connection was so bad I had to use my phone as a hot spot. Management were made aware of this and were going to look into this so hopefully this will not be an issue in future. Apart from this good value for £50 for a night including breakfast.

This is a family run cross between a B&B and motel. The staff are absolutely fabulous people and care deeply about their guests. The only downside is that the wifi signal is not strong. I was able to tether with cellular data, but bear this in mind if you are wifi dependent. Other than that, this was definitely the best place I stayed at in the Stoke/Newcastle area (I stayed at 4 places and finally settled here). They are right on a bus line that gets you to Keele, Newcastle and surrounding areas.
