The staff was horrible. Then, the room was filthy. There was paint splatter everywhere as though a fresh crime scene was being covered up. Including on the tv remote. No utensils in kitchen. NONE. No shampoo. I asked for extra blanket. Waited a hour. None came. Had to go back to desk. After I checked in, on the way to my room, I noticed a large bag of trash two doors down in the hallway. When I checked out 3 days later, it was still there.

The exterior was loaded of trash everywhere. The room looked good except the frig, ctops and floors were dirty and had to clean ourselves. No coffee maker in the room and the towels were dirty. For the trip we had was ok for the price but will not stay here ever again. The front office were nice and that was the only thing that was good about this hotel.

It was a quick overnight stay. Their were people lingering outside. That was just not the safest look for a hotel. There was some dried noodles left in the sink that had not been cleaned. Everything else seemed to be clean. As i was leaving i read a sign saying they only had a cleaning crew once a week and that made me cringe. Feeling like someone may have been in the room before me and it not been properly cleaned.

The whole place smelled like stale cigarettes and weed. Room was dirty. Lock was broken. Looked like nothing had been renovated since the 90s. Bathroom was disgusting. Common areas were gross. No elevator. Over all, a terrible place to stay. I was there for about 20 minutes, just long enough to make a new reservation elsewhere and then check out again. Front desk just smiled and said “oh sorry”. That’s it.

The smells and bags of linens and trash all over the hallways - gross. We checked in and out within 5 mins.

This property is not at all what is shows online. The furniture is old and beat up, the floors are dirty, upholstered furniture is old and stained, bath and kitchen are in need of updates. The smells are absolutely horrible. The property needs updating immediately- people should not have to rent in this condition.

This was a case of what i paid for vs what i got. They put beautiful pics on they internet, but we get there and it look like a trap house. We on the 3rd floor, no elevator in this b*!@h so we had to carry all our bags up the stairs. Get in the room and it smelled bad, floors dirty, the kitchenette floor was so sticky my boy friend shoes literally stuck to the floor and he fell out the shoes. Bath tub was so dirty, look like they been stewing oxtails in it. I felt like I was going to catch something. The only reason we stayed was because we had an event to go to and didn't hv time find any where else. I strongly advise you not to go here unless u hv no other choice.

The smell in this place was absolutely horrendous. I had to go buy candles and air freshener just to be able to breathe in the room. The AC half worked. The bed was flimsy and kept rocking with the slightest movement. I’ve been to several extended stays and NONE of them have been remotely close to being this bad. I couldn’t get ahold of a manager on property so I’m disputing the charge with my bank. I ended up sleeping in my car

This place is definitely not worth the money. If I had a chance I would request a refund. First room was filthy, stains on carpet, and walls. Latch to window was broken, microwave rusted out. The lobby was dirty and looked to have not been vacuumed in months. 2nd room about same but a little better due to no carpet. The fire alarm went off and on for about an hour around midnight and the lady at the front stated she could not assure us if things were safe or if we needed to evacuate. All around horrible experience.

However if you go to a store don't matter how many showers you take you will walk out smelling horrible. Look good on outside dirty filthy carpet on inside. Low budget. We booked the room with a queen and a pull out, that room had bed bugs and bugs in the bathroom. The paint in the shower was also peeling off. We got switched to a smaller room with only the queen bed. That room had a white stain on the floor with rips in the carpet. The kitchen floor was sticky and the kitchen was missing a coffee pot. The bathroom had not been cleaned but was restocked. I had wiped every surface down in the second room and had gone through about 6 wet wipes by the time I was done. We also had problems with our key not always working.

The only perks of this place was that it allowed 18 to check-in, the front desk staff were super nice and understanding, and if you have a pet they allow one per room for a fee.

I would not stay here again.

Got in my room and there was a black Nike sock beside the bed, the toilet barely flushed, and my shoes stuck to the floor in the kitchen so it clearly wasn’t thoroughly cleaned, loud people were in the hallway and woke me up out of my sleep @2:16 in the morning and it was hard for me to get back to sleep.I’ll never stay here again. I also requested a late check out because I couldn’t sleep. She said well check out time is at 11, but I’ll let you stay til 11:30 which didn’t make much of a different. Never again will I go back and I definitely do NOT RECOMMEND!!

As soon as I walked in the place I smelled marijuana from the time I checked in and until I left. The occupants next door was smoking in the hallway. The facility was supposed to be smoke free. The room AC did not work and the room got very hot and add in the smell of marijuana smoke lead to the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had.

First off, they sent us to a room with the door open, underwear on the floor, lights on, and food out. We had to ask for another room and no apology was given. You can’t even breathe in the hallways from the strong smell of cigarette and weed smoke. Someone was literally smoking a cigarette in the hall once when we came out. The fire alarm was removed from our room. We paid for two nights and ended up just driving home early to not stay the second night.
What’s worse was the service. I paid on hotels.com in advance, I already had confirmation proof of payment as well as my bank statement showing money taken out. As we were trying to leave, the front desk lady rudely accused me of not paying for my room and trying to “steal” it due to a payment declining on a card that wasn’t mine for an amount that didn’t match what I had paid in the first place. They never even took my card at check-in because it was prepaid, but she insisted that this card was mine and that I must not be able to afford the room so I was trying to leave without paying. As my boyfriend and I tried to discuss this with her, she said that we couldn’t leave or she would call the cops. She ended up calling them anyway with a false claim that there was a “crazy ass couple acting aggressive” and specifically referred to my boyfriend as a “man who is black or something being aggressive”. The police ended up allowing us to leave because she was obviously out of line but never in my life would I recommend this place.

The location is convenient. Office staff were helpful. However, the cleanliness and upkeep of the property were lacking to say the least. I was also uncomfortable with the number of guests loitering around. I stayed for one week, but as soon as possible, left the location and went to another hotel nearby.

Ok if you need somewhere cheap to sleep

If you are looking for a five star resort, this isn't it. We had a reservation at a hotel nearby that the hotel wouldn't honor which left us stranded in the area. We quickly booked a room here just to stay overnight. If you are looking for a place to sleep and is cheap, this is your place. We were given the last available room which wasn't updated (they mentioned that at checkin). The hotel is old. No hairdryer is provided so bring your own. Guests next to us were in and out loudly all night. The stairs smelled of weed. Other than that, we didn't have any issues.

I like that this hotel was affordable, close to downtown Columbia and the airport, and that the staff was pleasant and welcoming. However the actual hotel room wasn't in good condition. The toilet was running during my entire stay. The room smelled faintly of cigarettes, and the refrigerator was leaking. The stove looked very old and rusty, too hazardous to attempt to cook a meal with. The bedside lamp also didn't work. Overall, I wouldn't choose this hotel again.

Wouldn't stay there even if you paid me

This experience was a nightmare. After 10 hours of driving we arrived to find an unstaffed lobby. After waiting more than 20 minutes the clerk arrived and told us the hotel was unable to honor our pre-paid reservation \"because of staffing\" problems. The clerk called a nearby sister property to confirm they had a room for us so we drove there only to be told by that clerk that the first clerk \"must be new\" and that she couldn't access or honor our reservation unless we got it transferred so I got on the phone with their online booking only to be told they couldn't/wouldn't help at all because our reservation was through Hotels.com. I then called hotels.com and got them to cancel the whole thing and I wouldn't stay at Extended Stay America if you paid me.

The building is very outdated and needs repairs. The arm rails on the stairs were actually coming out of the walls and falling off. Not hanicap friendly since there are only stairs in the building and don’t have proper arm rails. The comforter had stains on it. The shower tub was discolored. There was something clearly visible clogging the shower drain. There was a large gap between the bottom of the door and the floor big enough to where I could fit all my fingers underneath the door into the hallway so I had to stuff the opening with a towel for privacy. The only positive was the front desk staff were very pleasant and nice. Not worth $300 for 2 nights.

So we booked this property to stay for the night after the Carolina game. They let me book and also charged my credit card. When we showed up around midnight to check In, lady rudely told me they don’t have rooms left. I told her that they already charged my card and her response was “Get a refund”. We were stranded because no rooms were left in that area. So we ended up sleeping In the car for a few hours and drove back to Charleston. I WILL NEVER BOOK THIS COMPANY ANYWHERE EVER AGAIN!

Disappointed with this property. The stairwell constantly reeked of weed smoke. There was no coffee maker or dishes available. There were roaches in the bathroom. I was glad for a stove but it was dirty, so was the surrounding wall. The microwave smelled like urine and had a hole burned through the side. The bed was so uncomfortable and lumpy. The room obviously was not swept out because there was a wig and trash between the bed and nightstand.

However, the place itself smelt like smoke/weed and made my wife have a very huge headache the entire time we were there. I killed two cockroaches while being in the room for one night. Where do I begin? The sign is missing in front of the property, that should of been a tell tell sign. When I got to my room my face dropped. Never stay here. Nastiest place I have ever stayed. Someone had peed in the shower and not cleaned. Someone had thrown up in the toilet and not cleaned. It had not been vacuumed. Dust bunnies and trash on floor. Stain on sheets that looked like mildew. Fridge was clean and tv worked.

If you just need a place to grab a couple hours of sleep it will do but I would not book it for my honeymoon. This hotel needs to be taken off of Expedia. The pictures online are NOTHING like the real thing. Everything was dirty. The kitchen faucet was taken apart in my room and there were stains on the carpet in my son's room that looked like blood. There was a man in the hall on the first floor dressed in scrubs with a stethoscope around his neck vacuuming😕🤔. I question what really goes on at this hotel.

Ok where do I start. Walked in this establishment filthy is all I could think of. You can clearly see that it hasn’t been cleaned since the ice age. I pay anyway get a room to see about 5 roaches just chilling watching TV. Hallways filthy I wouldn’t sleep there with clothes on. Let alone recommend this place. I should’ve called Terminix! THUMBS DOWN!! I explained to the staff that this place e was horrible and I wanted a refund. Then as I walked out the motel the young lady says to me, “watch out it’s a roach on your leg.” Funny I’m not perfect and yes I’ve had to live with pest but you grow up, u want better and you get better. And this was unexceptible hands down!

Upon entry to the hotel you can immediately tell it was not kept up. There was an extremely strong smell of cigarettes and marijuana. The doors leading from the parking lots into the room hallways were almost always unlocked or propped open; therefore answered why there was so much trash in the hallways. Checked in to one room and was mortified. There were small cockroaches coming out of the kitchen and bathroom. The bathroom tub was disgustingly dirty/stained and the water would not drain in the tub. The kitchen had missing cabinet drawers and the tv remote was not working. Overall disappointment. Total bust considering they have another Extended Stay America down the street in completely different conditions.

Not accommodating

Nothing was working, the heating unit wouldn't come on, roaches were crawling around. There was NO ELEVATOR to the third floor. No dining options available of near by businesses. Gave a project apartment feel not a hotel feel.

In bad need of renovation bathroom door was kicked in for some reason and not fixed inoperable and security measures doors left unlocked with random people in and out all hours of the night homeless person living behind the place etc.

Room condition was horrible. Smelled very bad, toilet had leak, floors were sticky, had to kill a coach roach,my daughter slept in the couch not pulling out the mattress. Overall one of the worste hotels I have ever stayed at.

Rooms in terrible condition for the money asked, staff unprofessional smell of weed floods the hall way room has awful smells
