Great stay! Room was clean and updated. Every single staff person I interacted with were very nice. Rooms are on the small side, especially while the murphy bed is pulled down. But the bed it SO easy to put away. It takes 10 seconds. Pool and hot tub were nice and hot, my son and I really liked tne breakfast options too. (no meats though). I would definitely stay again, but just be warned that fitting more than two people in these rooms would be a challege for me. There wasnt a lot of floor space to organize luggage etc

All of the cooking essentials in the kitchen! Even a plug-in electric stove, measuring cups, and a ridiculous microwave cookbook! We had a great time though there was a light outside our window on the second floor (room 422) that kept the room pretty bright even at night. Don’t take a shower at 4:30/5 when everyone is getting off of the slopes because the water doesn’t get too hot (probably because everyone is using it at the same time). Also, the temperature in the room was a little tricky to get right but we had a great time and definitely would stay here again.

The proximity to the gondola is excellent, literally across the street. This is a lodge, not a hotel but most of the properties in Tahoe are lodges/inns.
It is an old property and it is not like staying at the Marriot on the other side of the street. However, the people are great, the rooms are just like the pictures, they have activities every day, dvds to check out, bikes to borrow, etc. There are also on-site laundry machines that are free to use (you just book a 2 hour block with the office). The bed in the one bedroom is a full size and tight if you are used to a king/queen at home.
All that said, for the price, location, and friendliness of the staff - this is a great option for skiing in Tahoe.

1. No one at property to check in at 10pm. Two sets of keys that didn’t work, finally third set got us in at 10:45pm after some one came after a few calls.
2. Completed check in process next morning - no apologies from the manager (Kenny), noted our car details down (and DID NOT PROVIDE parking permit)
3. Towed our car from the hotel parking lot on the first day. No checks if the car belonged to their guest.
4. Kenny and staff did NOTHING to help us that evening as Kenny had left for the day!!
5. We went to the front office next morning to see how we can get our car back. That’s when it took a turn. So far we had been patient trying to figure out how that happened!
Kenny started yelling at us with threats and called us liars. Am sure the camera can prove we didn’t get a permit the previous day at check in! Talk about customer service!
He did NOTHING to help us get the car back and asked us to check out! He said we were making it an issue! Yeah it is an issue since you stole our car from the hotel parking lot!
Am sure he gets a kick back from the towing company! We had to pay $500+ to get the car back when this should have never happened since he had a record of our car at check in!

UPDATES ARE NEEDED
My husband and I stayed for 1 night. The weather was gorgeous, but the hotel had WINTER hours posted for the pool and hot tub and closed them at 9pm. That was disappointing as we were sure they would be open till 10pm as we would have time after our show was over. The room was nice. We learned later that it was scheduled for remodel and it really needs it. The bed was comfortable and another commenter stated that the pillows were too soft....I agree! What was uncomfortable was the MIRRORS! The entire wall that we faced in bed was mirrored....WOW! Then we walked into the shower and toilet....MIRRORED! WOW! Now I know what I look like on the toilet. Could have lived the rest of my like not knowing that. There was a velvet loveseat/daybed in the room. It was definitely large enough for a small person or child to use as a bed, but I wouldn't let my child sleep on it due to the stains!!!! A handheld carpet cleaner would be a very easy and inexpensive item for the cleaning staff. In general, it was fine.

Plus, they have great ammenities: discount at the private beach, free bikes, light breakfast, 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, barbeques, and daily activities. The location is perfect. The staff are very welcoming and knowledgeable and gave us all the information needed to stay there. However, in the summer the room gets hot (79°) and there is no AC to cool it down. They do provide fans, but it was uncomfortable all night long. When we took a shower mid morning, the water was constantly changing from hot to cold, which was very uncomfortable.

It is located in an extremely convenient location, just across the Gondola. This historic place is a bit dated but well-kept and clean. The staff are very nice. Donuts and coffee are available for breakfast. Ample parking spaces are available for guests. Overall and excellent stay! The location is perfect for anyone who wants a walkable Tahoe experience in the winter, and the heated pool and hot tub are a must when returning from a day on the mountain. What also really set this place apart was the little things like fresh popcorn in the lobby, a very friendly, helpful, and professional staff, and a small patio setup in front of every room. The unit itself was the perfect size and setup for a couple on a short to medium length getaway including a kitchenette, separated bedroom, and comfortable living room area.

Always love the Stardust. Unfortunately the Murphy bed in our particular room ( 109) needs major servicing help- squeaked on every turn! We have had several rooms at Stardust before with the Murphy beds and never had an issue. Above all the staff at Stardust are absolutely the best!

The location is perfect, just across the street from the gondola, and the rooms are very clean. However, the breakfast is far from acceptable. They only serve coffee, some bland bread, and half a banana—not what I’d expect from a proper breakfast. Great affordable place to stay for a weekend ski trip at Heavenly. Very close to walk to the gondola. Some rooms have a place to hang skiis and poles, although you may have to request it since I didn't get a room with this feature this year. Rooms are kept nice and warm, and comes with a small kitchen. Continental breakfast in the morning has limited options but it's free food. Be warned though, pillows on the beds are half of the size of a normal pillow! But overall, if you need a warm, relatively affordable place to rest your head for a weekend, it's a good option!
