Upon checking in on the first night, the hotel informed me that all hotel bookings required breakfast to be included. I explained that I had booked through Expedia, and breakfast was not included. The hotel threatened to charge an additional 40 CHF per person per day, which I stated was not in the Expedia terms and conditions. I told them the hotel needed to discuss this with Expedia, and they insisted on charging me. I refused and threatened to cancel the entire booking. They then agreed and said they would negotiate with Expedia. Ultimately, the hotel apologized as it was an issue between them and Expedia, not my concern. The matter was resolved amicably, but it was an unfortunate incident on the first day of my stay, as it was very upsetting. Otherwise, everything was fine; I slept comfortably, and the hotel was quite clean.

Hotel staff and their manager needs to be more guest centric and approachable for guest needs. I had requested their shuttle to pick me up from Interlaken OST station but they didn’t respond initially for a few days and on the last day prior to my arrival, they responded they will arrange pick up but never confirmed my arrival time or any other details. Upon arrival, person who checked me in, said they check guest msgs every shift (which was not the case), dishonest response ruined our experience from the beginning. We had to walk with our luggage bags from train station to hotel and upon arrival their were not even apologetic about mess up.

Front desk guy and their manager with bad attitude, I would not stay here again as I would spend this much money somewhere else.

Their breakfast in the morning was best part, omelette was extra charge, $10 Swiss franks.

The actually hotel was not what I expected. The room I was given had two twin beds put together and you would sink in if you rolled to the middle and it was very hard. The room itself was dingy and did not feel upscale as I thought it would based on the pictures. I love the idea of the historic element but it definitely needs to be spruced up. I paid almost $1000 usd a night including breakfast and was very underwhelmed. This was a birthday trip so my partner ended up booking us a hotel down the street to improve my birthday experience at Victoria Jungfrau-which was amazing. I would say if your staying here stay here for the convenience of the locality to train station, shops, restaurants and book the cheapest room not expecting luxury. I will also say despite the appearance of the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful. I would personally not book here again as I appreciate beautiful, clean appearing aesthetics when I am on vacation .

The hotel building is great and it looks very nice. The rooms inside are also very nice. Clean and elegant. The furniture is old-style and very good.
The service of the main hotel staff was good but the dining area staff service was terrible on the first day (except one younge server).

First day, it felt like we came to the dining area of a no-star small hotel for breakfast. Long line up on the coffee machine, no refill in scrambled eggs for almost 20 minutes plus. even reminded a couple of staff members but they said they informed kitchen . nothing more they can do which understandable but even the manager was not helpful. not much good options of food in anyway especially for people of dietry restrictions . we went their for 25th wedding anniversary stay and paid high price but seems like i should have picked a different hotel. will never stay in this again or recommend anyone.

The only thing to complain about is our floors in our hotel room weren’t very clean. There looked to be coffee stains all over. But besides that-everything was great!

The hotel is old and the floors creep so can hear people walking in the room directly above ours. Hence people walking in the room above woke us up. Fixtures etc were very old

We chose a 5 star hotel’s modern suite paying $1100 per night expecting a luxurious stay coming from Paris & London where we paid $600/night and had apartments. Here we got a room with two twin beds attached and one sofa bed that underneath had a broken leather making noise at night waking me up. As we entered the room we saw faded blood stains on the ground with a very low ceiling room. Next to elevator no view. It might be that Switzerland is overall pricey but for a 5 star hotel this can’t be happening.

The positive side was breakfast was amazing and there was a staff helping us switch rooms and he was very polite and nice unlike unhelpful front desk staff.

If you can get this hotel for $400 or max $600 per night then it’s good for the location otherwise for higher price avoid it!

The front desk customer service was really bad. The people at the front desk when we were leaving were unhelpful and completely rude and wouldn’t even give us water- we paid A LOT for three rooms and they can’t find a bottle of water? Also another person at the front desk check in didn’t mention when we checked in that we could get discounted tickets for transportation around interlaken. That would have saved us a lot! The suite had a nice view but poorly preserved floors. The family apartments were nice but really far and no elevator. I was very disappointed for the amount of money we paid. We are also Accor silver but because we booked through Expedia they wouldn’t honor any of the perks.

The only good thing about this hotel was the location. It was near the train station and was overall centric. However, our room was in front of a parking lot in a building completely separate from the main one shown in the pictures. The rooms were not clean, the AC didn’t work, and the people working the front desk were rather rude as well. We were in 5 other hotels during this trip and the other 4 were great, but our experience in this hotel was just horrible.

The property is in a good location. Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Especially Shams in the front desk was very friendly and helped with all the things we ask for; thanks again. The property provided us bus tickets for transportation and also shuttle for the train station. The breakfast was good but I highly suggest them to expand their cheese options.
The room was good with a nice view and balcony. They prepared some welcome chocolates and fruits for us. Unfortunately, the minibar is not refreshed very day.
Overall I highly recommend the property :)

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, thanks to its convenient location within walking distance of restaurants, stores, and activities. We opted for the modern room, which was spacious with a great view, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast was decent, too. However, the mattress in our room was outdated and uncomfortable. Overall, the combination of location and price made for a pleasant experience.

I loved staying at this beautiful, historic hotel! We felt so welcome and safe here, and the bedroom and bathroom were very nice, comfortable, clean, spacious and peaceful, and have great views, at least on the upper floors. We stayed on the 5th floor, and had a wonderful view of the church and mountains. :)
The restaurant is amazing! The food was top quality, and the service was superb. The huge breakfast buffet is included, and comes with cappuccinos, etc. You just have to ask. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel! :)

Lovely hotel, but not 5 stars hotel, I don't understand why Expedia keeps listing these hotels as 5-star hotels, it's a 4-star hotel, period. it's not on the upscale end at all, I've stayed at 5-star hotels, and this one isn't one of them. every time I book a \"5-star hotel\" through Expedia it ends up being a 4-star hotel. Aside from that, the hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to the train station, (if it's not raining, you can walk) but if it is raining you can ask the hotel to pick you up, it's a two min drive. The staff was very friendly, professional, attentive, and very helpful! The hotel grounds are very old, it could use a light remodel, by now. We also had the absolute WORSE shower experience in my 15 years of traveling the world, I can't believe they have this type of shower with the worse water pressure I have ever experienced, the shower had a very old handheld shower as a showerhead! The hotel price was very expensive for a 4-star hotel pretending to be 5 stars. I didn't get a luxury feel at all, especially with that terrible shower. The hotel website did a fabulous job of conveying that luxury feel, however when you stay there, it's not like that at all. You can tell it was really lovely in its heyday and it's seen better days but not anymore. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much, it was very clean, and I still recommend it for its proximity to everything in Interlaken and the lovely staff but don't expect a fancy hotel because it's not.

We spent 3 nights at the Royal St Georges in Interlaken and had a great stay. The room was spacious and bright with an updated bathroom. All of the staff we interacted with were friendly and attentive. The location, close to Interlaken Ost, made it convenient to get to all of our activities.

We were on the top floor of their newer building. Our room and the bathroom were huge. Very comfortable. Enjoyed a lovely dinner. All of their staff was lovely. Only downside was construction forced us to go outside in the rain between buildings. Not a big deal but not ideal. Hotel is a short, easy walk from either train station, or virtually anywhere in town

We stayed In the newly renovated portion of the hotel, which is a separate building. The Main building is NOT air conditioned. Rooms were large and bathrooms Awesome! Breakfast is included, dinner at hotel was great. Staff was superb. HOWEVER, the bar was surprisingly lacking even the smallest items necessary, ie no cherries or oranges for a simple Old Fashioned, no raspberry for a French Martini, and a trip to the kitchen for milk for a White Russian. Wine list severely lacking! Please help out your fabulous bartender by setting him up for success, it just requires a trip to the grocery. At a hotel of this caliber and cost this needs to be corrected ASAP.

Hotel Royal St. George is centrally located (about 6 minutes work from Interlaken East train station). Hotel is clean and breakfast is good. Service varies: sometimes it is good, sometimes not so much, this applies to both front desk and the hotel restaurant staff.

I really lovely, relaxing weekend. We ordered room service as the restaurant was fully booked, but what a great choice as we enjoyed an amazing view from our balcony. The room was wonderful, very clean and in pristine condition with a good mix of Victorian and modern. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Careful!! They will overcharge you for everything, parking is not included and is insanely expensive taxes are not included, breakfast is not fully included, they over charge you if you want your eggs cooked in a different way, only boiled are free. Coffee is terrible but the worst part is that if you order food in your room and spill something on your bed, they will charge you for a new mattress!!! I have never been scammed so much in my entire live, I will never go back and I am actually contacting my lawyer to see what I can do to get my money back. Also they will take 200 francs as a deposit for the soft drinks in the fridge, it literally never ends! Most expensive trip of my life. Stay away from there!

We had the most wonderful stay in this beautiful and historic hotel. It was walking distance of the train station and accessible to all shops in town. Breakfast was great as was the service. The employees were kind and helpful. Only complaint was the room temperature. It was very hot and we had our heater turned off. I suspect the insulation is not as good in an older hotel and the people under us were heating up our room. I would still highly recommend this beautiful hotel in a lovely setting.

The hotel was close to to train station. We had a very kind and caring welcome which was great! Everything explained in detail. The hotel is older building but there is another wing that is modern and new and that’s where we were. The room was spectacular, nice comfortable beds, a couch, balcony, a tub with shower head then a stand up shower. There was also a towel warmer! The room was excellent this hotel was part of a longer stay I wish we stayed here the whole time! There was come construction in the next room which was disturbing but the positives of this hotel negated the inconvenience. Every staff was welcome and tendered to our needs when genuine passion which I found to be superb. The breakfast was Included in our rare and it was an excellent high quality breakfast with scrambled eggs, pork and chicken sausage, variety of breads and pastries. Deli meats , wines , fruit. Also all the fruit juices were already poured into holders in the fridge you just open and pick, this was the BEST as most of the other hotels the orange juice has been sitting out but here it was kept cod which was so good!! Additionally the staff tended to your coffee needs whether it be black coffee or a cappuccino excellent way to start the day! This is an excellent choice and really feels like a 5 star hotel right in the middle of Interlaken. Just really enjoyed this hotel!

Sebastian checked us in and made it very easy! Breakfast that was included was the perfect start each day. Great location. Close to the train station, but far enough away from the busy touristy area. Woke up to the cow bells and church bells each morning.

The room was very hot with no air conditioning. The room included a fan. After sweating the first night and not sleeping well, the second night we opened the window. Across the street is a church which bell goes off every hour fro about 10 minutes. So this didn't help. Also, the TV size was incredibly small probably buy one for less than $100. Not that you stay in the room much to watch TV. But the little you do it was not great

We got check in for both rooms at 17:00 hrs . We reached hotel around 12:45 hrs but they were unable to clean and provide rooms till 17:00 hrs.. We were with kids and we faced lot of problems irrespective of booking a family suite with Kitchen we couldn't get room on time . Very bad staff and not polite.

The staff at the hotel were amazingly helpful. Delta left one of our bags in JFK so it had to be delivered to us. As soon as it arrived we were notified immediately. The rooms were clean and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent!

Thoroughly enjoyed my overnight stay at the Hotel Royal St. George’s. Not for from the Interlacken OST station, they offer shuttle service from either station (ost or west) to help with bags etc. Staff is friendly and super helpful (shout out Marta! ).

I opted to stay in the historical wing and am so glad I did! The room was comfortable and quiet, with beautiful antique furnishings. The bathroom was the original from when the hotel was built in the 1800’s. See pic of wild designs - very Game of Thrones!

Breakfast was included with my room and was perfect. Fresh fruits and breads and the traditional European breakfast items. Check out the fresh butter patty machine (!)

Great stay if you’re heading to the ski resorts or the Jungfrau experience.

Beautiful turn of the century hotel, easy walk to train station. Our rooms were spacious and well appointed. Loved the balconies off both rooms! Very good breakfast and very courteous host staff. Best thing about the hotel were the people, especially Marta who helped us with diner suggestions and reservations during our stay. She made us feel like family, truly taking an interest in our group ❤️ a lovely experience😃

Everything is right with this Hotel....

The Hotel location was just right near to train station and bus station. The Hotel is beautiful and they have great breakfast selection. The Hotel Team is amazing, friendly and helpful. Free hotel shuttle to and fro the Train Station.

It was a nice hotel, but our room smelled so strongly of perfume that we were unable to be in there without the doors open. When we talked to the hotel staff, they said that sometimes happens, and to just keep the door cracked and gave us a fan. Keeping the door open made it quite cold, and difficult to sleep. It would have been nice if they would have perhaps offered us another room or perhaps something for our trouble.

Excellent location on the main street. The room and services exceeded my expectation and I have no negative comments on this hotel. There is a tourist info office right across the hotel where you can do bookings for all your activities and seek advice on what to do in a bad weather. For muslim travellers, the hotel also offers halal food selection from their restaurant (halal certificate provided) as well as at breakfast service. If you choose to dine out, there are plenty of halal food options within short walking distance from the hotel.

Good easy check in. A bit of a maze as the hotel is made of several older buildings joined together. Daily service was hit or miss. Good one day, below average on another. Pretty convenient to Interlaken OST (7 min walk). Breakfast is average (needs a little more variety)

Comfortable hotel in a great location!

Hotel Royal St Georges is walkable from the Interlaken Ost train station and a great base to visit Wengen and Lauterbrunnen. We enjoyed our room in the newer wing with a balcony and view of the mountains. We had a corner upper floor room and were able to open the windows and use the rotating fan so it was very comfortable. Water stations in the lobby area were great. Customer service was excellent, and we were given a ride to the train station on our departure day. In Interlaken we enjoyed the restaurants and seeing parasailing in the mountain meadow area. The Unterseen Old Town area was pretty also.
