We enjoyed our stay here. The staff at check in was quite off-putting but everyone else was great. Being so close to the train station was amazing! And the view from our room was awesome! If you’re looking for a luxurious hotel, this isn’t it. However, if you’re looking for a basic hotel that is close to the train station and still nice, this is a great option!

This was a great location just a 2-3 minute walk from a major transit station. I would stay here again and I would recommend this. Considering what food costs in Switzerland, free breakfast was important.
There is a warning on the back of the bathroom door that if you steam up the room and set off the fire alarm, it's a 150CHF fine, and I was worried about it before I showered. I later learned that it is not a problem at all at standard shower temperatures. No need to stress.
I stayed in a one twin bed room. It was small but not cramped and had everything I needed.

Very close to train station, market and eateries with vegetarian options.
Lake facing with good scenic beauty.

Negatives
No electric kettle in room. To get hot water you have to go to lobby. The hot water container is generally switched off and you have to wait for 30-45 minutes for water to get hot.
Not enough lights in the room.
Charging sockets for phones were difficult to find. Found one behind bed side table almost at floor level.
Did not find it value for money.

Hotel is under renovation. The rooms beside ours is undergoing demolition. Good thing we were there only at night. The hotel needs to improve customer service in general. Maybe because the hotel is really dated and undergoing renovation but customer service shouldnt be compromise. Breakfast should serve better, fresher food, fruits!

We loved our stay here!! Make sure to request a room with a balcony & view of the water, absolutely stunning views of the mountains & city. Affordable and great location. The women at the front desk gave us great recommendations. Breakfast options were just ok & not super clean (ex: utensils could’ve been washed better, etc) but can’t complain. It had an espresso machine which was very nice. Definitely recommend staying here!

The hotel is rather shabby in places, with quite a few trip hazards, but our room was clean and the breakfast provided had many options. It doesn’t feel like a very welcoming hotel - too many notices starting with 'Don't '- and staff not particularly interested. For example, youre not permitted tobyse a travel kettle and you'll need to bring an adapter to charge your phone. I asked if they had a charging point and was told bluntly 'Buy plug'.

Wonderful experience

It was an amazing stay at this Hotel, Beatriz greeted us very friendly and all through out our stay she’s always cheerful to talk to especially asking directions etc.

The location is so perfect! Located short distance to train station and public transportation. Walking distance to shopping centers, restaurants and bars! Their breakfast was also delightful there’s variety of sections.

The breakfast buffet stands out in the memory as being plentiful and extensive. The staff were attentive and friendly and constantly replenishing the items.
The bedroom decor may be a little dated, but everything was clean and comfortable (the staff again being attentive and friendly) and the bathroom was spacious and modern. A convenient and well-kept hotel.

There was a warning in the bathroom that fire alarm could set off due to steam from bathroom and users will be charged 150CHF, which I never had seen anywhere. Also it is way overpriced based on the room they offered. However, I believe they are renovating now so may be better in the future.

The bedding felt like cardboard, not to mention the pillows that felt like I was sleeping on a rock. On top of that, the walls were so thin that I could hear every conversation next door and them snoring.

This hotel is very convenient to Interlaken West station and a number of dining and shopping options, including a COOP right next door. Breakfast was good and the rooms were adequate. But the facility as a whole, acknowledging that it is a historic building, is very run down. Worn carpeting, dents, cracks and chips in walls and trim work, peeling and in some cases moldy wall paper and paint, and outdated furnishings and electrical service. No AC but room fans which help in summer. Did not visit bars but their hours appeared ‘fluid’. They do sit next to the river so when they are open, perhaps the setting is okay. To be fair, there is ongoing construction on the facade and a common bath off dining area so perhaps improvement is coming. In summary, a convenient stay if you’re not fussy and don’t plan on hanging out in the hotel (and why would you, you’re in Interlaken).

The property has a great view and is very convenient. It’s a landmark hotel and is the first hotel in Interlaken. Take this at face value. There’s no a/c, I blew the circuit with a euro-friendly hairdryer, there were wires hanging out of the wall next to our room, and our bathroom ceiling started leaking around 11pm. We told reception and her response was “they must have flooded the bathroom upstairs.” She offered us different rooms but it was too late to switch. We had a nice balcony but it did not make up for the gross breakfast. It was really not good. A very stale hotel. Ants and flies were not helpful either.

Great location. Super close to Interlaken West.

Central Continental hotel is in a great location. Maybe a 2-min walk to the Interlaken West Train station. Our room was super spacious. We had 2 balconies, and both got great sunlight during the day. It was great having coffee out there on a crisp morning.
The beds were comfortable. The pillows were too soft for me but my daughter loved it and she slept well on one of the twin beds.
The breakfast was good. Mostly pastries, some cereal options and they had hard-boiled eggs and hotdogs. Plenty of options for even a picky kid.
We had a great stay at Central Continental hotel. We highly recommend it if you want to walk everywhere or want to be close to a train station.

We had a lovely balcony & view from our room, looking out onto the gorgeous lake. Our room was spacious however, lacked a cosy feel, very outdated. We had breakfast included, but didn’t use it. We sat downstairs for it one day, was no greeted by any member of staff, lots of tables still had plates/cups that had been used on.
Not a wide variety of food and what was there, didn’t look very appealing. We had some juice & got a pastry from local shop down the road.

The view and balcony was mostly the only reason I booked the room! Very close to the train station which is also ideal! Just lacks the personal touches, and cosy feel to the room.

Value for money with friendly and helpful staff in a great location close to amenities bus and train station. Lovely building and no extra cost for balcony as renovations are ongoing inside during short window of opportunity between seasons meaning had scaffolding outside.

No working extractor in bathrooms and warnings about costly penalties should smoke/fire alarm be triggered seemed a bit extreme in circumstances.
Breakfast buffet area was very well stocked but very short on space with both staff and guests accessing stations from the same point/side. Cramped seating, I really don't want to hear other guests chewing their food in the seat beside me.

This hotel is one of the old hotels of Switzerland. It is well located, looks impressive from the outside and the receptionist was friendly.

Because of its location it has become an overnight stop for people from all over the world who are going to the 'honey pots' in the area. Clearly from the notices in my room there have been problems. Equally the hotel has descended in its offering to a rather 'don't care attitude'. Cleaners seemed to be rushed off their feet.

The hotel is conveniently situated near the train station and supermarket. I was impressed by the extensive and delicious breakfast spread. I was delighted to find that my room was situated on the top floor and had a spacious balcony with a lovely view of the river. However, I encountered a significant issue with the toilet, as it was not flushing properly. Some of the staff were warm and welcoming, while others were not as friendly.

The hotel location was great, just a few steps away from the train station. It is an older hotel, but very nice. It was very warm in the hotel and no air-conditioning. Luckily for us, it was cooler outside and we were able to open the windows. We had a very nice room with a balcony with awesome views. The lady who checked us in was very nice, the other two didn’t go out of their way to be over friendly. The breakfast for us was a flop, not a whole lot of options. There was one frying pan in the corner that you could make fried eggs, but you had to cook them yourself. The beds, linens and pillows were pretty comfortable, room was clean daily. I was shocked by the water pressure and how hot it got. The lighting throughout our room was very dim, and the Wi-Fi was very inconsistent.

From the outside and the lobby, the property looks magnificent...but look closer. Outside wood trim is rotting on several shutters. Awning covers beneath some of the balconies are weather-frayed and torn. Carpeting has been removed from steps, but the risers have not been painted. Look down the hallways: you can see where new, unmatched paint has been slapped on instead of painting the entire piece.

Two members of the front desk staff were very nice and helpful. The third and fourth made us feel like we were impositions.

Our room was large and had two walk-out windows that offered a good breeze, which was needed because the air conditioning was so weak. The hotel has apparently had past complaints, so they placed a 16 inch industrial Caterpillar fan in the closet for use. But, to use it, we had to unplug the little 19\" TV in order to have an available wall outlet to use the fan. All of this for $269 a night.

The location is excellent...literally a three minute walk from the SBB and bus stations. Very convenient to restaurants and shopping.

Oh...bring your own umbrella. Unlike all six of the other hotels we stayed at which provide guest umbrellas, this hotel sells them instead.

There is an old saying: \"You may be able to buy it, but can you afford it?\" In the case of The Continental owners, the answer appears to be \"no.\" I

MOLD in hotel made me feel sick until I left. Bathroom extremely stuffy, shower head sprays in all directions at way too high pressure, no fan or ventilation resulting in towels not drying.

Mattress is ancient and the room got way too hot at night.

Staff are rude and try to argue over small requests like extra towels or wanting to sit in a bigger table in an empty breakfast lounge.

View and location are excellent, but completely overshadowed by this horrendous, moldy hotel.

Location: 5/5 this hotel is in a great location. Close to Train station, restaurant, shopping and beautiful view of the lake.

Room: 2/5 our room have a beautiful view and it is clean with big balcony. However the bed was too soft, you will sink right in. Pillow have no support. Blanket is clumpy, so some part is warm and other part have no down feather so it was cold. Shampoo come in little sample pack, which I thought was very strange. Towel was a mix match of style and size. Curtain is also mix match of different types of curtains color and fabric. Everything in the hotel seem slightly broken and damage.

Breakfast: 5/5 delicious breakfast, lots of variety of fruits and option. The dinning room have a beautiful window facing the river.

Service: 4/5 no issue with the staff at check in and check out. Staff did a good job keeping the hotel clean.

Hotel is being run”on the cheap”. Seems to be catering mainly to large tour groups. Toiletries consisted of only a plastic pouch of “shampoo/shower gel”. No wash cloths either. Hotel is brightly lit on the outside but, they only have thin drapes that allow the light in. Blackout drapes would be great. Bed linens were rough. I abrated my elbow just turning over. Duvet was badly worn, all of the batting had broken up and fallen to the edges. The hotel is a beautiful hotel with great Mountain View’s and close to the train station.

It was my bday and I requested the hotel for a cake they said they don’t make cakes or provide them. Later next morning there were 2 cakes for breakfast. The room was not well lit. The staff literally took away my keys at 11:15 when I requested 10 more minutes to get ready since it was my bday did not even allow me to check out slightly late because the checkout was very early at 11 which at other hotels is 12. Terrible service
