This is a great place from which to explore Bristol as the bus stops right opposite the hotel. Clifton Village is a short walk away across Victoria Square and has some great shops, restaurants and cafes etc plus it's just a short walk to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

The room was clean in places, but finer details such as the shower and corners of the room had debris and collected dirt. The noise was the main concern as the floor boards and doors created a lot of noise around the building. The doors do not have anti slam mechanisms, causing them to slam loudly whenever anyone uses them. Didn’t get much sleep. Parking should also be free for guests.

The hotel is very clean and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We were that happy we booked in on our return journey from Devon. The hotel faces the Victoria Square Garden, with a short walk through the garden you’re into Clifton village. There’s restaurants and shops within walking distance. Also the bus stop is outside the hotel, where the No8 takes you into the city, and the return stop is also outside the hotel. I would recommend staying here !

Lovely traditional hotel in a great location. We would say that anyone with mobility issues may struggle with the flights of stairs in this heritage building. Rooms were spacious with nice views and bathroom was very nice.

A pleasant one night stay in Bristol to see the hot air balloon fiesta. Used Tesco club card partner through hotels.com so that softened the price. I wouldn’t have paid £170 to stay for a night, but ballon fiesta is a busy time so guess it’s supply and demand. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful building with lots of character. Comfortable bedroom. Good hearty breakfast in the morning. Off street parking from check in til 11am for £9 was very good value. Could extend till 13.00 for another £3. Great location for walking up to observatory and Clifton bridge. Would return if price were lower.

We had to decide what we wanted to have and the breakfast time on check-in which was a good idea in theory but on 2 of the 3 mornings we were 30 minutes waiting for breakfast and hollandaise on one of the mornings was very strange which was odd since the order was in from 2 days previous.

We love this hotel and have stayed before for a night out in Bristol. The only thing we would say was not perfect was at breakfast. There was only one waitress on a Saturday morning and it was busy at 9am. The breakfast was slow coming out. Maybe the kitchen was also understaffed. Otherwise all great!

Our stay was fine, but we had a thick winter duvet on our bed(we only realised when we got back late from supper) and we had a rotten nights sleep as, not surprisingly for mid July, was so hot. Pretty thoughtless of the hotel not to have changed the weight of the duvet.

The room was great. Cleanliness was amazing. The issue was the wait at breskfast. We had too ask the young girl too serve us, she was more intent on cleaning tables, which I found a bit odd as there were only 2 tables having breskfast. We had to continually ask for coffee/ orange juice. We waited over 20 minutes for our breakfast to arrive, yet we had ordered it when we arrived.

The location and heritage building are the only positive aspects of this hotel - our room was so small that even walking past each other was a struggle, with a toddler and luggage in the room, it couldn’t have worked for more than x1 night. The decor was also extremely basic/low-budget.
I couldn’t use the car park on day of departure too, so still had to find on-street parking first thing in the morning which wasn’t relaxing.
Lastly, the breakfast was a little awkward. Having to ask for a tea/coffee top up (in a tiny cup) irks me - a pot on the table, or a self service station would improve that. The food was well cooked though.

Had a warm welcome when we checked in. Our room was spacious & just what we needed. Considering we were close to the road, it really wasn't noisy (which was a relief) the location of this hotel is very close to the lovely local shops of Clifton. Highly recommend a little mooch & breakfast. I liked that this hotel had a car park. If I had to come to Bristol again, I'd definately return. Thank you!
