Good accommodation. Breakfast let it down. Good food but hot breakfast was only tepid each day. Gluten free bread was wrapped and had a separate toaster which was great. Could have done with information on visitor attractions nearby

Hotel was lovely, friendly staff, the room was stylish, spacious and clean with a double bed and a single bed. Perfect for my daughter, her friend and I.
My only complaint was the single bed had a tilt which made for uncomfortable sleeping. If you turned left you were slightly inclined, if you turned onto your right you felt you were tilted downwards. I didn't realise until I went to bed on the first night and as we only had two nights I did not complain. The girls were comfortable on their bed.

Waited10 mins to check in - was provided with a small odd shaped room despite paying extra for a delux room - when at breakfast the overcooked scrambled egg was 'dumped' from a bucket into the Buffett serving trough, I asked for some soft scrambled egg and was told no - that's how it comes - So if you want a substandard room, indifferent staff and you take it 'how it comes' The Clayton is for you !!

The Clayton is in a great position for exploring Bristol. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly and helpful.
We had a lovely big room which was clean and comfortable with a great shower.
We had a good nights sleep and the breakfast was excellent too.
As we had a late train back, we were able to leave our bags for the day while we explored the city.

As usual, the hotel itself was lovely, but this time, check-in was a nightmare. Checked in online, but when the code was inputted into the kiosk to collect the key, it didn’t work. Went to the desk and the receptionist was very rude. She argued for some time that it was user-error, and would not listen to what the issue was at all. Luckily, the manager stepped in, listened to the explanation, pulled up the reservation and had the problem with the code fixed in seconds. Their professionalism and courtesy was night and day. The receptionist could use the same customer-relations training that the manager obviously received. It was an unfortunate way to start this stay (since everything about this hotel is usually wonderful).

Nice clean, spacious room although my friend and her husband who I treated to a room for her birthday had a much smaller room even though it was the same rate. Great central location. Bar was good but the staff later in the night around 11ish refused to serve wine by the glass or cocktails…we were a party of 4 celebrating a special birthday and wanted to enjoy a few more drinks after a meal out. There were lots of other guests in the bar too - all we could get was beer! Very strange! Didn’t eat here as too many lovely restaurants and cafes for breakfast nearby. Overall comfortable stay but the bar should be manned properly on a Saturday night.

The reasoon I didnt give 5 stars was that the shower flow and pressure was poor. Ther viewout of the window was a dull public walkthrough with graffiti. As this was the middle winter and mostly dark then this didnt really matter but wasn't attractive.

The location was perfect in terms of town, you are right in the middle of the city centre and can easily commute around town. The venue itself is tucked away down a peaceful street. The breakfast was your traditional buffet but lots to choose from and helpful staff.

Dinner was a little disappointing - stick toffee pudding was dry and tasted stale. Breakfast was amazing though and made up for the lousy dinner experience.

Far Too small an area for breakfast considering the number of tables and people that were in there . Plates in the warmer were stone cold on both days and food was also cold . We even went in at 7.30 on the second day which was quieter but food still was cold

Apart from the young, tall, white man on reception, who was rude and dismissive with an attitude, my one night stay was fine. Good size room. Nice bathroom and comfortable bed. A fridge would have been good to have. In room dining is very limited. The layout of the hotel for the 9th floor, is complicated. Breakfast choices was fair. Though the eggs had a funny smell. Carpet in communal areas need a good clean, with large stains near lifts. All female staff at reception came across very well.

The hotel is lovely, the room was also very clean and well appointed and the breakfast was great. The reason for 4 starts and not 5.....our room for 3 had only an internal window in to the hotel lobby/reception - this is a big and airy space but - no outside view and no opening window - the room therefore got very hot (resulting in a very disturbed night). There is aircon but it went off at 11.00 and it was only in the morning that we read we could override this and get it going again but even then only allowed the room to get down to 19C. So - if you book a room and this would bother you then ask for a room with an external window! It was a very nice and reasonably priced hotel other than this.
