Stayed for an awards evening as we were sponsoring the event. Credit where it’s due—the event itself was well run and organised.
Unfortunately, the hotel completely let it down. The room was genuinely one of the worst I’ve stayed in. The bathroom was in a poor state: mould present, rusty taps and fittings, enamel missing from the bath, and a cracked mirror. The walls were dirty, the carpet was worn bare in places, and even the bins looked battered and unclean.
The issues weren’t limited to the room. Public toilets were in similarly poor condition, with wobbly taps and broken door handles, and the lift was out of order. On top of that, it was noisy at night, making it hard to get a decent sleep.
To add to the frustration, the shower curtain clung to you while showering, and the bath handle had been fixed to the wall in a way that made it unusable.
On a positive note, the air conditioning worked well and the bed was comfortable—but unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end.

The hotels bed itself was ok but the pillows were paper thin and the bed was on wheels so you could feel yourself moving whilst leaning against the headboard but apart from this we had a peasant stay

Handily-located with its own co-located car park, the hotel was a perfect place to stay for a midweek visit to the city.
The hotel has evidently had a modern interior makeover at some point and features interesting contemporary décor throughout. Our comfortable twin room had everything we needed for a short stay and at a decent price.
Whilst English staples are available, the in-house restaurant majors on Indian cuisine and our butter chicken was delicious.
Car parking for guests is £19 for 24 hours at time of writing and this was a very handy amenity as it allowed us to leave the car safely stashed away after checking out whilst we visited the University during the day.
Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere helped make this a great stay.

Property is a little tired and our window would not fully close.

Very clean hotel in a lovely location, however the noise just after arrival from the function room on the same floor was off the scale, we stayed for 2 nights and on Easter Sunday we were woken at 8.40am with the same noise from the function rooms I believe a wedding was on. I emailed reception but as yet still not had an answer as to why the volume needed to be so loud the room was vibrating so that along with the £38 car park charge has left us not wanting to come back ever again.

The hotel location was great the staff nice and the price fair. However when we stayed Easter weekend there was a celebration thing on. The sound check started just after 8am on the Sunday, it sounded like a full brass band accompanied by drums. Surely those not staying for this event could have been housed further from the noise. It was extremely loud and very disappointing. We got up dressed and left. I’ve never written a negative review before but the noise was something else it was happening right next next to our room.

Characterful hotel with well equipped rooms and in a fantastic location but has a disgraceful policy of charging guests an extra fee to to hold their bags pre-check in and post-check out.

Never encountered this at any other hotel, including other within the same chain. Holding guest bags is a minimum expectation of the complimentary service at most hotels irrespective of budget.

Not worth the money charged. £195 for a room. No biscuit, bottle of water. No heating in bathroom. Loud AC, lumpy bed. Nothing premium about the premium room. Booked 5 rooms and have to pay for them all individually rather than paying together so took ages. Lady who checked me in was apologetic. Don't pay for breakfast, it was not good quality at all with limited selections for the price they charge. Honestly not a good experience at all. Think they need to consider what they charge. If this was £100 maybe I wouldn't moan but to charge that much is extortionate with no added anything. Also £19 to park is insane!

Lovely man on reception let us check in early and gave us an upgrade but the room was very cold, could'nt have a shower, no heating in the bathroom and heating it seems on timer so didnt come on until 6pm.... one thing i do not like is a cold room...

Staff very nice and helpful, be careful of deal on in restaurant as breakfast and evening meal for 30.00 each includes drink but
limited choice and charged me 4.00 for extra lemonade... very expensive.

Will not be going back im afraid, parking £19.00 for 24 hours so not bad for centre of Bristol.

Staff were very helpful and allowed early check in (1:30pm). The hotel itself is ion a gorgeous building. The rooms are spacious, and my bathroom was a good size. The only issue I had was that at night the bathroom was VERY cold, and the room itself also chilly. I tried to warm it up via the air con/ heater, but it wasn't powerful enough. This did affect the quality of my sleep.

Nothing grand about this hotel. Run down and dilapidated with a lick of fresh paint to try cover it. Poor quality bed and pillows, thin threadbare towels, extremely unclean manky bathroom, extractor fan ran constantly with no way to turn it off. This was in an \"upgraded room\" too so I dread to think what the other rooms are like.

Excellent location for the city centre and harbour side. Lovely decorated hotel and room. Worth paying a bit extra for the deluxe room - very spacious room. Only improvement could be the bed - sprung mattress so pretty hard and slightly uncomfortable. Would still recommend the hotel as very reasonably priced.

Clean large room. Safe didn’t function and no lightbulb in desk lamp. Door card would only function on the 3rd attempt every time. Nice hotel but totally marred by an ‘Anime’ convention which lasted the 2 nights we were there. The hotel never informed us of this before our stay but if they had we would never have booked the accommodation. Noisy and packed with animated dysfunctional young people. We have yet to contact the hotel to raise our huge disappointment!

A real disaster I’m afraid to say. First room the bed had a terrible, very old mattress. The second room I was switched into had an even bigger problem… BED BUGS! I got bitten during the night which was painful and a really unpleasant experience. I got switched into yet another room. So although the location is good, I would serious think twice about booking this hotel. What a shame

The room was cold (I didn’t realise you had to turn the heating on). There was very heavy rain and the noise on a flat roof outside our window was unbearable. We changed rooms at midnight. The following night a Turkish wedding with drums until midnight. Shower great. Beds comfortable. Towels have seen better days. Receptionist very helpful

The room seemed fine at a glance but when we getting settled in we noticed quite a few things that suggest it was not cleaned properly and/or lacks maintenance. The toilet was left \"dirty\" if you get my drift. The mini fridge cabinet had been moved and unplugged and had milk runs down the side of it. One of the chairs had discarded tea and sugar packets left on it in pain view. One of the towels provided had a big hole in it. They clearly have a problem with damp as the you can see the patches of discoloration and cracks on the ceiling, as well as glossy patches where they've just painted over it previously. The windows have secondary double glazing inside as it's an old building with sash windows but the double glazing was missing a pane and otherwise looked like it was from the 90s. You could also see the blackening on the window frames where the condensation is likely rotting the frames. We found the bed to be very firm. It felt like an old standard spring mattress not anything modern with pocket springs and a foam topper etc. The sheets also seemed like they were quite old and had seen better days.

The room was cold, no heating working and remote on television also didn’t work. We were given a second room that was just as bad, finally given a third room that was a little warmer but the heating system still didn’t work in any of the rooms we were given but give up trying in the end. At no point did anyone come to see what the problem was they just kept giving us room keys to try. We spoke to another couple who were also having the same problems and also moved rooms and been offered a blanket by the lady on reception !. At no point did anyone ask if we OK. Such a shame because the hotel itself was OK.

Great location for exploring the city , room was clean and warm (good heating). Bed comfortable. Walls paper thin tho , so had to listen to some party goers loud conversations at 3am. But we were there early Dec when the Christmas parties had kicked off, so bound to happen.

Hotel Staff were friendly and helpful. The bar service was good, some lovely cocktails created.

Also had a meal in the Restaurant there and food was delicious and the restaurant team were lovely . Great stay, would stay there again. PS: Car park to the side of the hotel and had plenty of spaces.

The room was nothing like the lobby entrance leads you to believe it will be. Nice modern bathroom yet the bedroom was confused. Older style with confused furnishings.
The bed was awful. Spent the whole night trying to avoid being stabbed by springs.
There is no information in the room to let you know anything about services available/restaurant info etc. Its up to you to work all this out for yourself.
Staff were lovely. Did not choose to eat breakfast here as on arrival we looked at the displayed menu and it only offered and indian cuisine. When check in team member asked if we would like to add it i commented that it did not cater to our needs. Yhe response was that sure they offer a full english style, but then gave no further infor when asked about dietary requirements.
Enjoyed my stay as much as could with lack of sleep. However would not return.

Lovely hotel with a stunning dining/ bar area and well kept public areas. Car park is tight, but it’s Bristol city center so it’s just nice to have a car park!
Room was huge but no matter what I did with the aircon remote, it refused to heat up.
Breakfast was pretty poor. Most food was luke warm (beans and black pudding were cold) and toaster only produced very lightly toasted bread (but done just enough that putting it through again would burn it).
I’d stay again but not have breakfast.

A great choice of food for breakfast cereal fruit yogurt cold meats cooked English breakfast with a great choice, but a shame really as bacon, sausage etc was mostly cold or just warm. Good selection of bread and pastries. Hot drinks lovely and good selection of cold drinks.
Second morning stay breakfast declined a cooked breakfast as not being hot day before. Decided to have granola with dried fruits. Also had Greek yogurt with berry compote, wihich was excellent breakfast. Lovely hot drinks prefect second day. My daughter had the cooked breakfast on our second morning and she did say the bacon,sausage, warmer than the day before.
Staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly making our stay very enjoyable.

We stay here quite often when visiting Bristol for events. The location is nice and central and availability of parking a handy bonus. This time we had a nice room upgrade on arrival with the stay only slightly let down by the nasty smell in the one working lift that permeated the whole of the 3rd floor corridor too. Thankfully no smells in the room.
