Awful as I specifically booked room with separate sofa bed weeks in advance but when I arrived they said sorry we dont have any left as all taken (two guys sharing so needed separate beds) - they blamed your booking as it didnt make it clear to them...

There needs to be a better system for disabled people and prams as the access to the lift from the car park you have to manually open the doors yourself, which are heavy doors and cannot to it when single parent.

Also, room wasn’t very clean.

Carpet in the room was absolutely filthy, shower went hot and cold and just trickled out, parking was £17 even though I paid £270 for 1 night. Very very disappointed to say the least especially for the price!

The staff were very friendly, our accessible room was spotless, and the shower had a chair, not one of those fixed to the wall things! It felt very safe having a shower ::
The only improvement would be to place a chair in one of the changing rooms by the sauna/steam room/gym, as getting showered and changed after having a steam/sauna was difficult!

Only 1 thing still to be resolved, was I paid for the hotel,Parking and Pet separately with clear request for separate invoices, as I paid everything on arrival and make the request in advance before I arrived and at check in. yet when I checked out they had put everything onto one invoice. Apparently would have take time to resolve but I couldn’t wait. They said they would email-l it to me.
But still not received and also reported that even with booking correspondence - I have never received any of their emails- not even junk. Hence wanting the invoice printed when I leave. I would have thought a weeks notice and a call and reiterated when I checked in, the importance of separate invoices was enough time to get ready for me. Minor if rectified and if the email is received- apart from this would highly recommend and would happily use again.

We spent two weeks at the Novotel and had a pleasant stay. The hotel is very well located, within walking distance of pretty much every major attraction (even the Clifton suspension bridge is only a 45-minute walk away). The room was nice and clean, the bed comfortable, the breakfast buffet decent, and the staff (front desk, dining room, and housekeeping) very nice and helpful. The only negative points, which other reviewers have mentioned, are the heat and the hot water. The room never got warm during our stay: it remained “warmish” at best. As for the hot water, it was rather unpredictable: some days there was plenty, others, not much.

Check in staff member was great, check out staff didn’t seem too engaged in her job. Room was clean, bed comfy, bathroom satisfactory, however cold showers in the morning. Location excellent, parking straight forward, £16 for 24 hours. Entrance lobby very clean and smells beautiful.

Really noisy, the walls are really thin and we unfortunately had super noisy people either side. The hotel is dated and need upgrading really, for the money I've stayed in nicer hotels in Bristol. The staff were friendly fair play and the location is good, but I won't be back due to having a horrendous sleep due to noise.

Clean and well located hotel and friendly staff. It advertises van parking which is a major factor during business trips. This turned out to be in a back lane behind the hotel - still chargeable. Separated only by a wire fence from a fully paved car park with Ringo parking.

Nice first impression, reception staff lovely, coming out of the lift the hallway smelt musty, like a hoover that needs a new filter, room okay although carpet would benefit from a clean, bit stained. Room also had a musty smell about it so opened windows to air out?! Maybe a nice light air freshener would be nice?
Made reception staff aware sink in bathroom, drain was blocked so very slowly drained water and not a very pleasant smell coming from overflow each time.
Our one real moan was the cleaning staff outside in the corridor very early, around 7am, talking very loudly with little respect for guests sleeping, and it was Sunday morning, I was going to open the door and speak to them but tbh they should know this and have more respect!
Overall staff lovely and stay was very nice, food good, especially the breakfast

We arrived late on a Thursday night so didn't expect the red carpet to be run out, but were met by a very grumpy man who was extremely economical with words,and looked like somebody who hated his job.
Our room was large enough and had a double bed and a double sofa bed.
The sofa bed, according to my son was not the most comfortable. The bed was ok, but the pillows were a bit smelly.
If the room had been 4 up, there were not enough pillows.
Bathroom was clean and functional.
We didn't have breakfast and we had no other contact with any members of staff.
Hotel was average at best and overpriced for the condition it's in.
It's good and central and close to temple meads train station and the airport shuttle bus which leaves from there.
Don't think I would stay there again

We booked 2 rooms and although both were on the same floor they could not have been further apart. The bed was made each day but the tea and milk only replenished on one of the 3 days of our stay. If it wasnt that the hotel has its own car park we would probably stay elsewhere.

I love the Novotel in Bristol. Have stayed a few times already and they have all been great experiences. The bed is comfortable, everything is clean, the staff have always been super lovely. This stay was no different. It's always a consistently pleasant experience staying here. It also helps that the train station is less than a 10 minute walk.

It’s in a very convenient location for my needs. Rooms are spacious if not a little 90s and ready for a bit of a makeover. The aircon was heavily used during a heat wave and was struggling to meet demand. The check in process wasn’t what I was expecting; they were quite uninterested.
Health and safety was a low priority in this property with chairs stacked against an emergency exit and pressure washing in front of the property leaving hoses unattended and unsafe without any signage.

This might be the best hotel I've ever stayed at in terms of value for money. It's clean, comfortable, centrally located, and close to everything you'd need. Breakfast was also very good. Honestly, there was nothing I felt could be improved upon, I genuinely can't think of anything more I could have asked for, especially at this price. Highly recommended!

Great central location for the City, with the Docks & Old City easily walkable
Issues with the shower the first morning - couldn't turn it on. The staff were very helpful but it took 3 members of staff to turn it on. It was obviously a known problem, so should have been checked. I was offered a complementary breakfast.
The room was very warm and the air conditioning didn't have any effect
Seemed to be plenty of spaces in the hotel car park

If You Love the Retro Style

Located within walking distance from the Bristol Temple Meads station, this hotel is fine. The room I was in is quite big with a comfortably firm bed.

For those who are into the retro 2000s era style, this is the hotel to be in. The room is a bit dated, but at least they do a good job in up keeping the interior.

However I was given a room overlooking the garbage area at the back of the hotel. Yuk.

Room was so stuffy. Bathroom was extremely tiny!!! Bedding was not tucked in. So strange. Pillows need replacing (did someone wrestle them all night till they were misshapen?

We had a great one night stay, in a clean room, very friendly and helpful staff, and the best part, our dog was allowed for a small fee, which is a huge bonus. The overnight parking seems to be a bit more than should be, but overall a very pleasant place. Definitely will check in again at some point.

Clean and comfortable hotel with a great breakfast. Some of the furniture in our room was a little dated and in need of a refresh but room had vey useful mini fridge and good size bathroom. There were four of us with two of us sleeping on a sofa bed which was very comfortable- not always the case in other hotels.

Breakfast selection was very good and nicely cooked. Kids enjoyed the table football and small games area. Hotel is also walkable to most on the main sites. Would stay again.
