Location was good, parking nearby was handy. My room was located behind the lifts. The walls were so thin, it sounded like a tube was passing next to the room - on a Saturday night, there were hundreds of lift journeys all through the night, I think 4am-5am was the only hour I could sleep. Totally unfit for purpose and cost £160 without breakfast.

The room itself was fine, more tired than other garden inn’s I’ve stayed in - plus there was someone’s leftover Chinese in the mini fridge. Not my favourite stay to say the least.

From arrival to departure my stay was perfect. The gentleman on receptionist was sonprofessional and friendly. My room was spotkess and quiet. The bar was ambient and the quality of wine very good. Would definitely stay in this hotel again.

Breakfast area was poorly laid out. Seating was too close together, the bread was placed beyond the main section (which was cramped), and past the queue of people coming in. Food choices weren’t made obvious and items weren’t refreshed. We also had to wipe down our own crummy seat and get our own cutlery.
The bed was very comfortable and had an iron and hair dryer.
At 3am in the morning, I went reception to ask for water as on check in, I could see other guests being given bottled water. I was told I could purchase this as the water was only for Hilton members. I found this quite disappointing as I wasn’t asking for much.
Location was 10mins from city centre which was convenient.
Parking on arrival was not straightforward as most of the charging stations were out of order.

Shower has huge temperature fluctuations from luke warm to scolding hot, without changing the position.

HGI used to have one of the best breakfasts in Bristol, but the changes have made it one of the weakest.

Coffee used to be brought to the table, 2 or 3 cups in a pot. Now there are queues to get average coffee from the machine.

The pastries have dropped in quality and they have got rid of the waffle maker, which used to be a real selling point.

We were extremely disappointed with our stay in the Hilton Garden Inn Bristol City Centre Hotel for two nights 5 - 7 December. The hotel does not at all live up to its 4 star rating and is overpriced. It is probably the worst hotel we have stayed in for many years.
There was no drinking water in the room. When we raised this at reception, we were told you needed to be a Hilton Honour member to receive it! Even a basic b&b provides water in the room as standard and we need this to take medication!
The breakfast was a very poor quality buffet, the dinner menu was very limited and was such poor quality, drinks from the bar over-priced, £15 for a glass of Malbec!! There were not even biscuits provided with the tea making facilities in the room. The car parking facility was extortionate at £20/day. Even umbrellas which were provided by the hotel were rented at £2 for 48 hours!! It's a money-making operation.
The service was indifferent and most of the staff were extremely young and inexperienced.
Our room was not made up for the second night........ the beds had not been made and the wash basin in the shower room not cleaned.
The overall experience was as if we were staying in a much cheaper 2 star hotel not a 4 star hotel. This hotel does a dis-service to the international Hilton brand name.
Avoid like the plague!!

Room badly designed, bed too big for room, no hooks or other hanging near to door, bathroom cramped, ie had to close door to reach the loo, no bin near tea making for used stuff, not enough tea and coffee packs.
Poor lighting, nothing good anywhere for reading.
No easy chair with reading light.
TV dim.
Good points, airy open stairway, key card worked, bed large but comfortable, heating ok, but unable to change despite thermostat.

Comfy bed, quiet room and friendly staff. Would have been 5* but I found the bar/restaurant menu limited (few ‘fresh’ veg options). The kitchen did prepare me a side salad when I asked but it was an additional £8+ charge. All very tasty though and breakfast was great.

Breakfast again basic but nice quality and so refreshing to see products in glass dispensers rather than mountains of plastic waste from sachets. My room (134) had a faulty window seal which meant noise from the road outside was a nuisance.

Our air-con wasn’t working on the first night. Woke up roasting at 3am with the thermostat showing 25 degrees. We struggled to get back to sleep. Explained this to staff and they let us know they have 24 hour service. We are hardly going to get up and dressed at 3am to go to reception and have an engineer fix our air-con. The mini fridge was also not working. Even then changing rooms at that time of night would be unrealistic. We managed to get free breakfast for one morning but this was only because we asked. The breakfast was good.

The room was very clean, spacious and comfortable.
Breakfast s also good - although being a week day and there being plenty of \"business\" visitors having an early start too, it was busy and there were some minor delays waiting for refreshes.
The ground floor toilets were a bit \"functional\" (more like a department store toilet than a hotel one) in design and made me wonder about the hotel decor when I first arrived. But I was pleasantly suprised as the design of the rooms and corridors was pleasant and welcoming - albeit the piped music was louder than I would have expected.

The hotel is a great location as walkable distance to the shops and bars of Bristol.
There was still spaces free for parking when we got there on a Saturday at 2pm which was great and a relief.
The hotel itself is clean, rooms are a great size, and good size bed. We were told they were up grading the TVs in the rooms to larger screens.
Breakfast was tasty and we timed it well so there werent any queues. When it got busy there were some queuing, but they were reasonable.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
Its was all in all great and we would stay again.

Hotel was fine but not much more to say than that. During check in staff didn’t make us aware of any of the options for adding on breakfast or any mention of hotel facilities. Room was boiling as aircon system wasn’t great. Overall room/hotel lacked any personal touch and you didn’t really feel valued as a guest but if you’re fine with that then stay would be ok.

The great thing was the room layout, the bed was fantastic along with the bathroom. The restaurant was 2 rows of tables for 2 or 4 the menu was the same as the Bar snakes which was a disgrace, the breakfast was in the same place the food was put in pots under lights, first day when we had breakfast at the time there was no hash browns and no scrambled egg I had to wait 5 minutes till some came out while the food on the plat was lukewarm now, on the second day all the food in the bowls was lukewarm by the time you got to your table it was almost cold, very poor quality in food service, I will NOT be staying there again.

Lovely hotel, great location

Staff were all lovely. Room comfortable, breakfast fresh with good choice.
Location was brilliant with easy walk into city centre and a bus stop right outside to get to Clifton which was well worth the trip.

Great hotel and staff, such a shame the air con wasnt working in the hotel when we stayed on a Sunday. The temperature in the room was 29.8 degrees all through the night. The staff were great though and offered us a fan and complimentary cool drinks. Breakfast was great and check in and check put was quick and easy.

One night at The Hilton Garden.

From start to finish the service was excellent. Lovely room refurbished to a high standard. Very clean and a large comfortable bed. Would definitely use this hotel again. Special mention for Stuart on the front desk who i spoke to the day before on the phone explaining my wife had a broken foot and could we check in a little earlier. He arranged the early check in and when i turned up he was very helpful and made the whole experience a pleasure. He is a credit to the hotel.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. Just a 1 night stay.

Not really very close to main city centre for theatre, bars, etc. It’s at least a 20-30 min walk - taxi took around 8 mins to the Beck theatre.

So take that into account if you want something walking distance to the main city area.

Parking was very limited, got lucky with the last space. I think there is around 20 spaces?

Room was very comfortable and clean.

However on both mornings we were awoken by contractors at the hotel, both times were before 9am.

Some of the in house toiletries were empty on the final morning (post a house keeping visit) so we had to manage this within our group for who could wash their hair.

Overall a pleasant stay, but dampened by poor communication of the works going on in the hotel.
