It looked nothing like the picture. Noisy. Bed was terrible. I was charged an extra $30 they called a Destination fee. When I called to ask them to remove they argued about it. Expedia says it’s an all inclusive price. They are taking advantage.

This place is rundown and dirty. Stained carpet and furniture. Spider webs everywhere and the wood on the balcony is eaten up. Microwave has got to be 30 years old and the rooms smell. The office even smells musty. Water preasure in the shower is awful. Absolutely awful ! Especially for over $200 a night!!

Unfortunately the front desk person was not kind and a little rude on check in and out. Bed was ok, only 2 towels in the room. They charged me $15 after for my hair dye on one of the thin, small, scratchy towels, which washes out. Lights came in through blinds all night.

BEWARE HIDDEN FEES!!! Be sure to read, read, read all the small print entirely down to the bottom to discover a very small mentioned $15 destination fee.
Also, be aware that there is MASSIVE construction going on out front and access is extremely difficult.

2 Day Stay Was AOK For The Money.

If your traveling on a budget its a ok place to stay. Movie theater, round table pizza and brewery are next door. Super market is about a 4 minute drive. There's a few stores near buy for everyones enjoyment. Rooms are a little out of date but it gives you that old country feeling. Overall I enjoyed my stay.. I got my money's worth. I got the family with 3 beds. . They don't offer breakfast even if the website says it. They said they haven't updated it. And some of the rooms have the old pictures. Please call ahead for more information.

Well, there are worse places in Atascadero!

I have stayed in a much worse motel in Atascadero! Check-in was tedious with little to no conversation/interaction. Room is fairly run down and not the cleanest. One lamp was missing a bulb (and the other didn't work). The water pressure is similar to pouring water from a Desani bottle.

ON THE PLUS SIDE, beds were fine; ample parking; walking access to eateries, groceries, bars, and highways.

The property is tired and worn out, but they tried to spruce it up with nicer duvet covers.

Positives: Walkable to shops and food, as well as the beautiful park and City Hall.

Negatives: The floor in our 2nd floor room was \"spongy\", the toilet seemed loosely connected to the floor - it moved and rocked, the bed wasn't comfortable and the \"queen\" was definitely a double. Poorly lit as well, and everything seemed to lean a little, towels were scarce, and we had to ask for toiletries.

There's a balcony off the back, but it is uninviting - cobwebs, no place to sit and relax.

Overall - not worth the money. I've paid less for better rooms

My Happy Place With Everything I Needed

This motel was the perfect place for my 5 day stay waiting for a medical test and visiting with family and friends. Large, clean, comfortable ground floor room with my car parked right outside. Everything I needed including comfortable bed, bathroom with good counter space, refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, table with 2 chairs, big desk with comfortable desk chair, TV with plenty of channels, place to hang clothes, dresser, nightstands, good heater/AC, good windows for natural light and fresh air and with room darkening drapes and sheers, patio with chair,
town center location with easy walking to restaurants, groceries, drug store, movies, auto parts, coffee etc. Helpful, kind, friendly staff. Very reasonable cost. My only issue was that the WiFi wasn't very good, and I would have used my mobile hotspot if needed anyway. From now on this is my happy place to stay whenever I'm in the area. I'm grateful to have found this motel on hotels.com.

Door sweep!

Very nice woman in the front office! I asked for somewhere quiet and she made sure of that. The only thing that I recommend, put door sweeps on the front door. Huge gap! Besides the sun glaring through the bottom of the door, it’s easy access for rodents and insects.

Room 103 has a leaky toilet above the room that would leak right on top of you when using the one in #103 requiring you to take a shower after your impromptu shower. From the looks of the ceiling it has been leaking for some time. When we told the staff they looked surprised, but offered no compensation for it...thanks for telling us, have a good day. Other than that, it was a good stay.

First room we were given smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Went back to get a new one we could hear the manager complaining that it was just cleaned and in no way was smoky. (She definitely sounded like a smoker, so I think her judgment was off). Second room was fine, no cigarette smell, but lots of cigarette butts on the ground outside and on the staircase. Bed was old and very uneven, pillows were super flat, shower had crappy pressure but at least it was hot. I know it’s not the Ritz, but I expected a bit more considering the raised holiday rates and for the management to believe us when we tell them the place is smoky. I won’t be staying here again unless it’s the only option.

The place is old but clean and the bed is comfortable. It is located in a very nice area and very close to dining and short drive to the beaches. Did not have problem with checking in except we wanted to have the bottom rooms instead of rooms upstairs because we had friends with medical conditions that limit activities including climbing stairs but we were told that they were unable to do that due to some glitches on their computer. We just helped two of our friends getting up the stairs.
I was told by my friend on our last day that the AC in rm 201 was loud but did not tell me right away. Housekeeping was excellent, they were very friendly and accommodating. Shoutout to Janine and Kari. We requested extra towels and soaps and they immediately delivered with nice smiles. Will definitely come back when we visit the area.

However we had already been charged so they had to refund the card because we were paying with a different card. Motel was as expected. Nice and clean. Bed was comfortable. AC was a bit noisy and room needed some fresh air. Bathroom exhaust fan was noisy but effective.
Overall I was happy with my stay. However, in general something strange is going on in Atascadero lots of homeless or drug-addicts roaming about. Seems a bit sketchy. Friends stayed up the street at Motel-6 and that was really strange and sketchy vibe.

However changes need to be made, including cleanliness and safety (the people that were living on the street in a van right next to our room were scary). Someone came in the night and pitched a tent in the backyard of one of our rooms! Maybe it's a management issue?

The people there are super friendly. We had the Deluxe Room, which was very spacious and worth the extra money for my family. The room was very clean.

Even though it was an overall positive experience, there were 2 small issues we had though. First, consider bringing your own pillow. The ones they gave us were very uncomfortable. Second, the couch turned out to be a pull out bed (wasn't listed on the site, but when we found it, we tried to pull it out to find that it was broken. I informed them about it, mainly to make sure we wouldn't be charged for it, and found out that they were already aware, but just left it in there since the pull out bed wasn't advertised.) Like I said, both small things, but worth noting. Overall though, I recommend it.

We had another good stay at the Vino Inn. This Hotel would be REALLY good if only they could keep some of the random homeless/street kids from roaming around the parking lot and areas surrounding this hotel. Unfortunately this last stay we felt a little uncomfortable when going to go get sodas from soda machine and encountered a huddled group of homeless ppl literally sleeping and leaning up against the soda machine.

This hotel has great location, price, ammeneties, clean, comfy beds, nice big rooms w patios and good service only negative is the unfortunate local homeless groups that seem to call that area home.

Front desk attendant crossed a line

So I’ve stayed at this hotel numerous times, and so I booked a room for my Nephew who’s in the Navy and was visiting. I had to pay a $100 cash deposit, which was not disclosed, and When he was checking out, the woman checking him out, told him that she took the deposit because I have stayed there several times and left the room trashed when I left! This is absolutely NOT true! In fact I always made sure that everything was picked up trash was in the trashcan (or next to it due to a small trashcan) I am furious that one she completely lied, and two, even if I had left it “trashed” it is unethical for that to be said to ANYONE but me. I will no longer be booking rooms at this hotel for visiting family, which is unfortunate because it is close to my house and reasonably priced.
(I also was not given the nights towards my rewards)

When I first walked into my room the whole building shook. It is the most rundown place. There are a cigarette burns on the walls on the floor on the ceiling on the blankets on the curtains, even on the toilet! The whole room smelled like old stale cigarettes so much so that I had to open all the windows to breathe. There were cobwebs everywhere! Stains everywhere! The check in people were nice but the room was disastrous!

Wall and sheets were stained with red paint, blood, or polish. There was a fly in the room. I did not feel it was sanitized, especially with signing the COVID-19 release of liability. I had to do my own cleaning before feeling comfortable to stay the night. Service was OK and outdoor decor was alright. No breakfast. Room smelled of cigarette smoke.

Staying Home Is A Better Option

This hotel will make you appreciate returning back home. Room had not been cleaned. Prior occupants had covered the smoke detector with plastic to avoid setting it off while they smoked in the room. Outside the sliding glass door, a pile of cigarette/weed butts. The room had a cigarette burn on the floor and leftover clothes in the drawers. Informed staff on arrival that the room smelled like weed and no offer to move, clean or offer a reduced rate was made. Fortunately it was one night and the second hand high I received allowed me to sleep in the bed in spite of the giant chasm in the middle. If this is the hotel you’re considering, look for a manger, homeless encampment, stay in your car or just enjoy home instead.

Great location; bring wipes to sanitize your room

My cousin and I stayed at Vino Inn on the July 24, 2020 weekend. We were both very disappointed with the lack of cleanliness and the room being sanitized from the very beginning. There was a layer of dust on the headboards, the bathroom countertop had some type of sticky film on it, and the tables did not look wiped down. It was a good thing we brought sanitizing wipes and other sanitizing sprays. We both went to work cleaning the entire room. The towels and bedcovers also appeared stained; probably from previous guests and it just didn’t come out in the wash. It was too late to change hotels at that point and you need reservations way in advance since we’re in the height of tourist season. We did mention something to the owner but they didn’t seem to care. Especially with the pandemic, you need to be careful with your accommodations. The previous weekend I also took a short trip with a friend and the hotel we went to was immensely cleaner with phenomenal customer service. Both hotels costed the same amount for the night. We chose this place due to the location. We won’t be back. If you decide to stay here, just remember to bring wipes to sanitize everything down. Maybe your own bedsheets, towels, and coffee maker too.

The room was pretty good as to be expected, but there were a lot of random people walking throughout the parking lot/ property all day and night. One even knocked on our door. There was also we random guy on a bike riding through and tried talking with some of the guests.
At check-in I had to use a pen that was just sitting on the desk (don’t know if clean or not) to sign paperwork. At other places they have a sanitized bin and an unsanitized bin. They also had to touch my ID and credit card in order to check in although had paid online. Usually this would not be a problem but due to covid, wasn’t totally happy about this.
One other thing, the ice machine wasn’t working.

I was told we were getting a great room! The front desk lady said it was the better of the suites. I think after walking in the door it was just a way for me to be ok with the top floor. Walked in the room smells musty and stagnant. Several areas of the wall the paint is chipped off. Curtains are broken off the rod, a 2 room suite with only 1 TV, stuff on the bathroom ceiling....not sure what it is but it was nasty. Furniture is old and very dated and most definitely not in good condition. Shower head did not work property. It sprayed every direction but straight! Picture on hotels.com are not anything like the room we stayed in. Cleanliness was definitely not up to par. Most definitely not worth $160 I paid!

\"Vino\" must translate to Noisy AF

Well, we NOW know that the word \"Vino\" translates in English to Noisy AF! Jeez!
We didn't sleep a wink. The air conditioning cycling on and off, every 2-3 minutes sounded like a Harley outside our window. The refrigerator clicked loudly every minute or so. People above us talking and cackling all night, the manager walking back and forth past our door, NOT using her library voice.... It's enough to drive you to drink. Trucks in the parking lot idling their engines forever at a time....
Now, most businesses were closed for a long period of time. This gives them the opportunity to do a deep cleaning. This place was dusty, needed vacuuming in the main areas and corners, and between the bed and nightstands. You could have tried. And don't get me started on the cobb webs in all 4 corners. It was cheap. It looks great from the outside. The location is in the middle of everything. But the photos did not match the room we had, not even close.

So much potential

Very nice staff which makes it difficult to be really honest about their property. Absolutely the dirtiest and most dilapidated hotel/motel I’ve ever stayed in and I travel A LOT! We stayed in the Family Suite. The 2 rooms had plenty of room for us but the beds are sooo old that you can visibly see the hills and valleys In the mattresses as soon as open the
door. Even the walls above the beds were filthy. In this Covid19 environment you would assume that management would take extra care to thoroughly clean, but sadly not the case. Could be a great Motel...just needs TLC

Hotels.com did not cancel one of my reservations so we had confusion as they had me down for 2 rooms so check in took forever! Room wasn’t bad but noticed mold up high in the bathroom and could use a better cleaning! Also when they came in and changed bedding and cleaning after the 1st night they only did a half ass job as they didnt pick up some things and left 1 trash filled and only halfway made the bed. Another thing was the shower backed up into the bathroom sink and couldn’t even brush our teeth in the sink as running water in the sink it would back up.
