The woman who checked us in was very nice. It’s went quite smoothly/efficiently. Parking was plentiful. The pool was not so clean — rather unappealing. My room was very clean, recently remodeled. It’s a simple, basic room for a great price. I would recommend.

Two minor inconveniences … There is no electric plug near the sink to use with my hair dryer & curling iron. Also, there is no soap dish or shelf in the shower to put shampoo, razor.

It was a recently remodeled room so it was clean and looked decent. Just know they do not do early check in only 3pm or after on the dot. I called the night before if 1pm check in would be possible and they said yes. Once we got there the manager said they don’t so I was put in a tight spot because we had to get ready for a 3pm wedding. If they had told me no the night before we would’ve gotten ready at home and then driven to wedding. She didn’t even try to see if she could accommodate.

Part of the property under construction. Pool is small and unheated. Rooms were fine, but the showers are designed to fail, and they did with us, flooding the bathroom. We mopped up with what towels we could find. We asked the front desk to clean it up while we were out for the day. We returned to find that they had done nothing. Mediocre hotel in a MAGA town. Avoid.

For a motel six it was very quaint. It was under construction, but the rooms that were redone were very nice very clean and the staff was very helpful. If you’re planning on going to the beach shot from the hotel to the water it is about a 20 minute drive through the mountains, but it’s very beautiful

In many ways, you know exactly what to expect with a Motel 6: the rooms are cheap because they don't spend a lot on the furnishings, or stock your room with a mini-bar, or offer free cookies at check-in.
TL:DR - request one of the updated rooms for the most comfortable stay.

We ended up seeing two rooms: our original room was not one of the updated ones and had some cleanliness issues. There were nail polish stains on the floor, the floor of the shower was pretty dingy, and the wash-towel swan by the sink had hair on it. The A/C also didn't work, so they moved us to one of the updated rooms.

However, this hotel is currently undergoing a renovation, and the updated rooms are surprisingly lovely! The bed was pretty comfortable, the TV had a great selection for TV and movie channels, and the room had a mini fridge and microwave. The toiletries in the bathroom are good quality, and everything was pretty clean.

We were able to check in a bit early, which was nice because we had to be at a wedding from 2p-7p. Room is clean. Walls are thin, you can hear every footstep and every time someone in the adjoining rooms runs water or flushes a toilet. Neighborhood feels a bit sketchy, but not the fault of the property. We just need a place to sleep for the night after the wedding, so it was fine.

I had asked to speak to the manager and she refused to try to contact her or give the the contact information. Please remove this motel from your website because it's infested with bugs and you are going to get bad reviews from people who aren't happy with their stays there. Also the mattress was filthy down near where the streets cover it. It looks like a bed bug infestation but I wasn't there long enough to sleep.

The night clerk was rude and spiteful. He couldn't find the reservation, gave us the wrong room, wouldn't put our two rooms together telling us 3 people had checked in...but it was midnight and MAYBE 1 person came in. But no one had the adjacent rooms the whole time we were there. THEN tried to blame us for everything! (The day clerk was nice.)

The hotel looked like it had been through a war. Water was backward...to turn it off, it had to turned past the scalding hot water. The a/c was barely adequate.

The location was the ONLY redeeming quality.

Not a great place to stay

My daughter and I had a room with two beds. One of the beds had an imprint where the mattress was sagging. The shower floor was disgusting. There was no toilet seat cover. There were holes on the front door where it appeared a lock had been previously. The room could use a coat of paint. We were also warned about a man that has been acting strange and lurking around at night.

Property and room is fine for just going to sleep and getting up and out. I had no complaints in that regard. It wasn't much for comfort, but it served its purpose. It's not a hotel for hanging out or for more than a couple nights. It actually felt a little like a nice prison. It was clean, but smelled so strongly we had to air it out for an hour. I would stay again though because it's cheap and didn't charge for dogs. There was nothing strikingly offensive. It was just fine.

Will never stay at another Motel 6 again. The check in went smoothly and the employee was very pleasant. Decent start; but then I opened the door to the room and was hit by a seriously foul odor. I step into the room and could feel the dirt crunch on the floor. No fridge, no microwave, and two micropillows that Temu would be ashamed to sell. The shower curtain only covered 75% of the showers opening and resulted in a puddle on the floor 10 minutes into my stay. Sound from the property, like doors slamming and other occupants arguing permeated our room the entire night. The toilet screeches like a mandrake root with each flush. It didn’t matter whether it was our toilet that flushed or the neighbors. Fast forward to midnight when I took the dog out for a bathroom break. A “resident” tried to invite us into his room for drugs and drink. If anyone is going to come to Atascadero, there are way way nicer hotels for just $10 more per night.

This place is very run down. We checked in at 0200 we woke up the clerk working. Only thing he said was id? And card to pay. Then gave a key and walked away. I had no idea what room we had our where it was. I had to find out written on the key and find a map in the lobby. Half the parking outside was roped off and nothing by the room. When we walked in The door had multiple holes from where the lock had been moved. Usually because the door had been kicked in. The table where the tv was located was coming off the wall and was broken. The bed had what looked like cigarette burns on the comforter. Multiple places paint was chipped or coming off the wall. The bathroom had blood splatter on the wall. Outside was construction where part of the second floor walkway was missing where the wood was rotted. Horrible parking.
