It was good. Remote didn't work for one of the rooms. The soap dispenser in bathroom by sink it too high for kids to wash hands. Blow dryer didn't work. Other than that It is a good place to stay.

The Inn at San Luis Obispo is a basic motel, with outside corridors, ample parking, and a small reception area. It has a large swimming pool, which is why we choose this motel. The water was cool but perfect for lap swimming. There was also a hot tub, which was hot the first day but only warm the next three days. Our room (126) was large and the bed was comfortably. The remote for the TV did not work (but the buttons on the side of the TV did), and the lamp and power supply on the desk worked sometimes. The room had a refrigerator and microwave. WiFi was a bit slow but sufficient - we had to sign back on once or twice per day.

The whole area is clean, the beds are comfortable, ample room space. Downfall was that THERE’s ONLY ONE OUTLET THAT IS WORKING PROPERLY, and that is the one mext to the bathroom. ALL OTHER OUTLETS ARE EITHER NOT WORKING OR UNSAFE TO USE because they are way too lose .. they’re literally coming off the wall. Hope they fix this as i will be booking here every two weeks

This is just one of the old school hotels, where you park in front of your door. No fancy lobby. No restaurant. Nothing. Just a small, old, room to sleep in. Perfect for what I needed. It was clean and the bed was comfy. No frills.

The minor downside is that the walls are thin, the floors squeek...so you can hear people and them walking around. But it's fine. I didn't stay here to be at a resort. Perfect for that parameter.

One star listed only because there are no negative stars, in reality this is a *negative* 5 star property. From the totally unhelpful staff with attitudes like you are inconveniencing them, defensiveness and argumentativeness, to the peeling and chipped paint, to the stained lamp that didn't even work, to the torn curtains, to the dead crickets in the bathroom, to the minuscule pool with broken furniture, the property was a total disappointment. We stayed during Cal poly graduation and the over $400 a night that we paid was ludicrous. We had four rooms and all were equally decrepit. The shower handle on my sister-in-law's shower fell off at 11 o'clock at night, and feeling worried about bothering staff, she washed her daughter's hair in the sink. When this was mentioned to staff in the morning, all they had to say was, \"nobody called us,\" without even an apology. The tone of the staff member was like it was our fault. Unbelievably terrible property and service. Embarrassing. Will never ever stay there again. Recommend steering clear.

Since carpets are individual squares, 3 needed replacement since they were extremely soiled.
Paint chipping and bubbled in bathroom. Bath window would not shut. AC unit created lots of condensation on rug. Some chairs outside were broken and should be thrown away.

The room had some noticeable wear, but was fairly clean. The bed was very comfortable and plush. The tub did not drain well, but we arrived late so did not complain. The pool area was nice and the pool was well maintained. The vending machine was expensive. You're better off going to the Chevron across the street.

During check in, the lobby was hot and stuffy and it smelled like a kitchen. As we drove through the parking lot toward our room, we noticed that a screen door was torn, as well as some room curtains. When we entered our room, it was hot and the carpet was dark and appeared matted down and dirty. The lampshades were stained and one was torn. The privacy curtains could not close in the middle, so someone had made a hole in each one and used a folded piece of paper to tie them together. There was a thick layer of dust on the bathroom door jamb. The coffee pot had a used coffee pack in the filter basket. The air conditioner unit was under the bathroom sink so the airflow was poor. The bed was cheap and uncomfortable and we did not sleep well. When we tried to check out at 6am, the lobby was closed and the front desk did not answer our call. When we called the advertised phone number, the person who answered said it was a personal phone and not the hotel. So we had to check out after our work day, and the same man who checked us in, said that we had to pay for 2 extra nights. He claimed to Expedia that we did not call them and allow them an opportunity to address our complaints and make it better.

Motel is dirty, food left overs in fridge from previous guest, dirty towels, stained and smelly bed sheets, no hot water, no AC working but have portable electric fan in the room for use, Indian receptionist rude and will try to rip you off and overcharge you. Bad overall experience with this motel, not recommend to any travelers. Better off find a better hotel in the area with better reviews and recommendations.

The room has seen better days with scuffs on the walls, a worn rug on the floors, the shower curtain rod somewhat precariously attached to the walls, and a hole in the blackout shades. Acceptable. Certainly room to improve but competition also seems poor. Old Motel w/o mechanical ventilation in the bathroom, thus there was a fair bit of mildew needing cleaning. Thermostat buttons didn't work well. TV had basic channels, no ESPN or similar cable channels. Floor assembly was very poor and foot stomps above were perhaps the loudest I've heard in a hotel. However, the shower was Cleary better than a 2star hotel, but not as good as 3star thus 2.5 star rating seems appropriate. It's a nice upgrade from a 2 star hotel, but maintenance is not among the cleaner 2 star hotels I've seen around the USA. Hot tub water level was low and thus made a loud gurgling noise. Pool furniture was missing cushions and torn. You stay here for the location, not for the quality. Parking spots seemed unnecessarily narrow.

Our room was very run down- dirty carpet, bad patch job, broken screen on the bathroom window. I checked the beds and they were clean and comfortable. The towels in the bathroom were dirty grey and need to be replaced. We had a lot of trouble opening and shutting our door. The man at the front desk was very helpful, available and pleasant. No blankets for beds, just sheets. Cracked sink basin. The place is clean but needs maintenance and love. For $100 per night a great place to shower and sleep.

Pleasantly surprised. Room was clean and nice enough. Shower had strong pressure. Bed was comfy not too soft or hard and glad I found extra pillows in the closet.

Just don’t expect help from front desk. For one night we were there at calpoly open house and it was $234 a night booked last minute. 20 min walk to calpoly.

Staff was not overly friendly or helpful. My key card was uncharged but luckily I was able to fix it. I asked some questions about what if no one could help me and he said there was a number on the outside door. There wasn’t. I was traveling alone so that is important.

Hotel is in a great location. Pool amenities need upgrades for sure. Room was clean.

The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The ozone they use to deodorize the room gave me congestion and a headache; it was very strong. The TV only received two channels, so we didn't use it.

Hot tub was broken and I was not notified in advance or at the time check in. The hot tub was the only reason I booked a stay at this dump of a hotel.
Furthermore, the bathroom was dirty and the thermostat was not adjustable, all you could do was turn it on or off.

Wasn’t very full so wish they would spread out guests and not stack people upstairs over a downstairs room. Upstairs neighbor was a nightmare, banging furniture, doors and heavy walking for an extended time. That’s done but could be prevented by not stacking rooms when it’s slow

First of all, the toilet was not working. When I tried to flush, it overflew and flooded the entire bathroom. Instead of fixing the problem promptly and apologizing for the inconvenience, they simply offered me a plunger to fix it myself! When I pointed out that it was their responsibility to maintain the facility, the owner gave me an extremely bad attitude.

We booked this facility specifically for the hot tub they listed on the website. Turned out the hot tub was not even working. Instead of apologizing, the owner, again, gave me an extremely bad attitude and told us to check out and look for another hotel, at 9pm!!!

The towels and sheets were not properly washed and had lots of stains. The room had very poor insulation. It was noisy all night from upstairs.

Terrible place and terrible stuff! Definitely to be avoided. There are much better places for cheaper in the area.
