Super friendly staff and a beautiful place to stay!

Every time we travel to SoCal by car, we make it a point to stop at the Apple Farm. They're hotel and restaurant were always something we looked forward to. This time was different. The hotel is still the same (great service and great rooms), but the restaurant has gone downhill. It's under new management and all the charm is lost. No more pies, no more cute trinkets and overcooked underwhelming food. That hometown feel has been replaced with corporate sameness. Go for the hotel and skip the restaurant.

Overall, this is a charming property with plenty of character and history. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the complimentary cider and coffee in the lobby were a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated.
The biggest downside during our stay was the Wi-Fi. None of our three devices could stay connected for more than about 10 seconds. We contacted the front desk, and they acknowledged that this is a known issue. We were staying at the end of the building, so it's possible our location contributed to the problem, but we can't say for sure.
If you're traveling for leisure and reliable Wi-Fi isn't a priority, this hotel has a lot to offer. However, if you need a dependable internet connection for work or business, you may want to consider another property.

Very cute and cozy. Country charm at its best.

I love this place! My second stay! Great room for last minute booking #214

First the good... Location is easy. Property is cute. Lots of parking. Room.wqs tiny but no big deal. I really loved the little outdoor patio area.
Service could have been better. For one, the lady who checked us in seemed tired and just over her job. She didn't tell us about any of the amenities. We went to the pool assuming we could use the room key to access it as is typical. But no, we needed a code and had to go fetch it from grumpy pants.
Finally and most egregious of all, the hot tub wasn't hot. I booked this hotel specifically because it was one of the few places in the area with a spa. We had been hiking and walking and really wanted to unwide and relax our muscles in the hot tub. That was very annoying.

Very nice room/hotel for the price.

A fun stay, will be going back.

Staff was so helpful and it was decorated for graduation which felt special. The cookies were a big hit with my family.
Rooms were clean and comfortable.

lovely, nice areas on property for relaxation. Staff very pleasant and helpful.
Erika
The room was TINY. We have never stayed in a room this small. Definitely not a value for the price as well as the additional $25.00 for parking. The staff is always nice and the reception area is always ready with hot coffee/tea. That is a warm greeting. Breakfast at the restaurant was nice as well.
But the room (#18 in the Trellis Court Building) was extremely small. The bathroom sink also needs an aerator. Be ready for a lot of backsplash when you turn on the water.

On check in, we received cookies! There’s complimentary coffee and tea available too. The room was clean and spacious with a sitting area and tv screen above the fire place. There is a lovely warm farmhouse feel (home away from home) with a convenient restaurant/bakery nearby for breakfast and a cute decorative water wheel too. Loved the pristine white towels and comfy beds. Will be back if given the chance. Staff was efficient on check out.
Joyce
only there for 1 night but restaurant was good for breakfast, nice pool .room was small but i knew that when booked
Jose
People were so nice, beautiful atmosphere. Nice area close to downtown. Lots of breweries and restaurants nearby, right off the 101
Heather
Nice room with good AC. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Cute place, good value.

Apple Farm Inn was a very clean, quiet, and comfortable hotel that is close to downtown SLO and near several restaurants and bars. However, do not miss a chance to dine onsite at Apple Farm! What a delicious breakfast! Everything was sooo fresh. Pure wonderful California!
emily
Comfortable beds. Nice furnishings. Our 5th stay!
Ashley
Would 100% recommend!! Very nice staff and very nice location.
Lydia
It was lovely. Although the facility was older, it was well maintained and very clean.
The lobby coffee could have been better but the station was well stocked and fresh.
Parking was great and the hotel was 1.5 miles walking distance to downtown.
Very convenient!

Everything was great
Chris
very disappointed in the restaurant.
Lori
Clean room, helpful staff. The pool looked great; I didn't use it. The fireplace was nice. My only gripe was that the restaurant closes early.
Kim
Enjoyed and will recommend.
Lindsay
There was such a comfortable atmosphere at this hotel. The staff was friendly. The room was clean and spacious. We didn’t use the fireplace, but it was a nice touch. The pool and hot tub were clean. I loved the coffee and tea that was available in the lobby.
Jay
Clean room. Fresh cookies and bottles of water as daily comps.
Leslie
We were very happy and would stay at this inn again, such a great value! The room was very spacious and no extra charges for water! The cookies were yummy, only wish we had a coffee maker in the room, however it is always available in the lobby.
Diana
Great place to stay… it’s gorgeous too.

To be honest at $800 for 2 nights o was expecting much more than just a little more upgraded motel. Nothing like the pictures.
I couldn’t sleep at all due to a very noisy and old mini fridge in my room. The air conditioning wasn’t working.
Pretty much I stayed at a motel 6 but paid for a resort.
I definitely won’t go back.

Overall our stay was excellent. We were upgraded to a room in the main house however there is no elevator. This wasn't a problem for us but it may be for others. There were more positives with our stay, the only negative was the cleanliness of the bathroom. I would give them another try. Staff was super nice

ok
Monica
Quaint furnishings and friendly front desk team. Main Inn rooms a bit quieter and larger. Court rooms very convenient, though a bit noisy by the freeway.
Loved the pool and hot tub! Ask for a robe, they’re great. Breakfast Resturant has good bakery items and 24/7 tea and coffee along with complimentary cookies fantastic.

We stayed at Apple Farm a few years ago. My wife and I had many good memories of this hotel. It was like staying in grandparents farm house, nice and cozy. The scenario was totally flipped upside down this time. The property was uncleaned. The room we stayed was not prep to occupy. There were two chairs and a bed in the room. The amenities were not complete inside the room. We've asked the front desk personnel. for facial tissue and it was denied. The contractor was doing a roof replacement while we were in the room. This is a failed management team.
Irene
Everything was great in the room except for the flooring. Mop them better, my feet got dirty walking around with no shoes and I forgot my flip flops.
Ritchie
Beyon expectations. Room was clean, well appointed and quiet. Gas fireplace was a pleasant surprise and much appreciated. Grounds are well maintained and beautiful. Oh, and the cookies were yummy.
David
Getting into the main parking lot from the freeway is awkward because of the one way traffic directions
Lily
Perfect location and beautifully decorated. We loved the lobby and those fresh made cookies everyday are so welcoming! Thank you for your kindness! We ended up extending our stay one more night and the sweet, young girl at the reception desk arranged it so we could stay in the same room. It’s also very close to downtown, calpoly, the Madonna Inn, and right off the freeway. It’s definitely our choice hotel for all future stays in San Luis Obispo
Robin
Everything was wonderful, very quiet and quaint hotel. The breakfast at the restaurant at the hotel, not included, but very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Rachael
The hotel room wasn't very child friendly. It had a lot of sharp glass corners on tables and desks. The bathtub had not been fully cleaned. The outer hall light was also visible through the door frame throughout the night. Plus, they charge $25 for parking and amenities--in addition to the price of the room when you check in
Lily
The newly renovated rooms are clean and quiet.
Christine
Easy check in. Convenient location. Good staff. My only criticism would be that the towels have seen better days and the bed coverings were somewhat thin.
Pillows were good.

The room was clean and comfortable but rather basic for the cost. Some areas of the complex weren’t open or under construction.
Carl L
It was a good central location for what we were doing. Plenty of restaurants in the same location and next to the freeway with easy. Access on and off ramps.
Robert
Quaint, spacious room...needs a coffee table. Pricey per location and no breakfast included.
Salvador
Need bigger coffee cups
Brendan
The check in staff was lovely. They offered cookies and there was plenty of tea and coffee offered all day. There is also an afternoon wine tasting that is included. So lovely!
Keren
I loved the coffee, tea and hot apple cider in the reception area. The afternoon wine tasting was also lovely.
Our issue was with the room. Apparently there was some sort of leak. Half of the carpeted floor in our room was soaking wet - I had to wear shoes all the time unless I wanted to walk around in soggy carpet. There was also a pretty strong stench of … you know what … in the room. Apparently the leak was coming from a broken pipe in the bathroom.
When we told the person at the front, she said that yes, they are aware of the leak. And they are trying to fix it. In the meantime, we had to spend the night in a room with a soggy floor and a strong poop smell. They did not switch our rooms. They did not offer any sort of refund or reduction in price.

Good stop for my travels. Room and staff great.
Lily
This was the best surprise! The hotel is super cute and comfortable. Even though it’s right next to the freeway, I never heard the road noise. The staff was very accommodating, even when we decided to extend our stay, by keeping us in the same room. The. Location is perfect! It’s very close to CalPoly and the downtown area. I am so happy to rate this hotel a perfect 10 and will be my hotel of choice when returning.
David
Very clean, beautiful rooms and reasonable prices. Nice heated pool and hot tub. Restaurant is nearby. Highly recommend.
Spencer
Ideal stay, always a fun location
Kathleen
Excellent stay. Lovely property and room at a good price. It couldn’t have been better.
Caroline
A very lovely place. Everything was top notch from customer service to the rooms.
I would definitely come back.
I would definitely come back.
Rike
Cute hotel a mile from downtown SLO . Walkable to restaurants and shopping possible. The rooms are spacious with a cute fireplace. and sitting area. You have coffee and es while day at the reception area available .
ANNETTE
Great property at the end of SLO. Right by the freeway but you don’t hear it.
Arline
Very chill/relax vibe..accessible to downtown area.
Albert
Fireplace was nice
Joel
Great place. Reasonable price, great staff, comfortable room for a reasonable price.
alicia
The atmosphere was comfy and cozy. The room were lovely and they gave cookies upon arrival. Very welcoming. The only issue we had was that the mattress was not comfortable but over all everything else was perfect. We would stay again just because everything else was perfect.
Gaby
I was so looking forward to stay here but sadly the smell in the bathroom was terrible. And worst in the shower. It was hard to rest
Vivian
Clean rooms, very comfortable. Restaurant was good for breakfast. Good parking and very quiet. Will stay here again.

Kelly
Great hotel
Mary
Rooms were clean and decorated in country decor. Very friendly staff. Restaurant invite. Restaurants downtown are a short walk.
Aimee
We absolutely loved it here! The front desk staff are very nice.
Tiffany
I felt like I was at my Grandmother's house - this is a compliment because it was cozy (especially with the fireplace) and comfortable. Not so cookie cutter as most hotel chains I've used are very similar. My only complaint is I could hear the freeway from my room so I didn't sleep as well as I wanted.
Jennifer
Loved our visit!
Michele
Great place. Beautiful.
Sarah
The bathroom towels were not clean in our room.
Judy
The room was darling.
Cari
Adorable place to stay! Very comfy beds.
Amie
Cute place
Roxana
The staff was welcoming, friendly, respectful, the room was quaint, and clean.
Kirk
The place is an older hotel, my first contact was about 32 years ago as my family had breakfast there. Today the room is showing its age, the lobby was well appointed and welcoming. Sadly can not say the same for the room I had. The carpet in the room was disgusting. Did not let my bare feet touch it. The room was small, the pics of the room on hotels.com were very misleading in showing the size of the room. Staff was very friendly. I would not stay here again unless new flooring was installed.
Brandi
Absolutely enchanting spot to relax and recharge while traveling. Our room was spacious and so adorably decorated. It felt as if we were staying with a beloved aunt. The coffee and tea bar was lovely. Pool and hot tub were clean and comfortable. My daughter loved the pool toys. It seemed like the lovely accommodations made all guests friendly and considerate. We will definitely return.
John
AC in room was good. Cooled the room but a little loud. Bathroom sizes in trellis court are small. Not sure about the other building. Overall a good experience and found it more affordable than other hotels.
Kat
Clean, beautiful room, very friendly staff!
Alfred
The walls were very dirty in halls and carpets were stained and filthy. What a dissappointment.
Corinna
Property is going for an old-timey vibe, so if that's your thing you might like it. Furniture is dated but room was large and very clean. Bed was on the harder side.
Now for my beef...they charge a \"resort/amenities\" fee, as if this were a resort. It is far from it. Do they give away \"free\" cookies and coffee and wine? Yes. Does this qualify it as a resort. Absolutely not. This is a slightly enhanced motel/motor inn. Parking should be free, as should the \"free\" cookies and beverages.

Great
Cheryl
We loved this quaint place. The afternoon staff was amazing, the am staff did not seem like she could be bothered to look at me. Once I took a manager’s business card, she looked up but still couldn’t be bothered to ask me what I need. The only thing I would suggest is at least a small fitness center.
