Not up to Autograph standard at all. Very disappointed. Bathroom shower was disgusting with black mold lining the shower drain along an entire wall. Valet locked key in our car and we had to deal with it because the hotel couldn’t figure out how to. Felt like hotel was being run by students without the requisite service experience for a hotel of this caliber.

Beautiful property. Great location. Very clean and modern. My only complaint is the price for valet a night ($45) and the incidental cost a night ($125), seems a bit steep for a hotel in SLO. Nonetheless, there is a public parking building kitty corner from the property for $16 a night.

Make sure to get a garden facing room, better view and air conditioning units of neighboring bldgs are noisy. Room layout/design was great, 2 great espresso places across the street and a stones throw from the Thursday Farmer's Mkt. Their gym has \"like new\" equipment and able to get an adequate workout. I like a firmer mattress, but that's me.

Overpriced ($500 a night) and Underwhelming Stay

This hotel is absolutely not worth the $500/night price tag. I drove 4 hours expecting a restful and high-end experience, but my stay was disappointing from start to finish. Doors were slamming all night the first night, and there was loud partying outside the second night that made sleep impossible. There was a power outage during my stay, and basic amenities like a disposable toothbrush weren’t available when I asked. I requested a room change and was told nothing was available. They only waived the parking fee ($90 total), which doesn’t come close to making up for the disruptions and lack of service. Definitely not the standard I expected at this rate. I would not stay here again.

Cons- poor sound insulation between floors. We could hear every step the people above us made. Lots of outside noise from the alley (all night) off our balcony (through the night). Odd room configuration- the bathroom sink, shower were all incorporated into the room space making for little privacy pre/post shower. And the toilet is directly inside the room door.

Love how clean and neat the hotel is. My door and window to the patio weren’t working—I was not able to open it, other than that, love the layout and decors. Was not fond of the light above my head, the opening between the sinks.—I couldn’t figure out where all the light switches were at to turn off some of the lights. Lol

Over all, very nice and would definitely go back.

Even though I live local Lee, I had friends coming up for an event in downtown SLO. I could not have asked for a better hotel with all of the amenities in the most perfect location to everything we wanted to do. It truly is a gem of a hotel and I would recommend this place to absolutely anyone visiting our area.

This was an ideal location for everything downtown. It was our central spot when visiting surrounding areas. The only let down was leaving two pieces of clothing behind and the housekeeping unable to locate them. That was a little disheartening seeing that I called as soon as I realized.

I'll start with the pros: location is great and our room was beautiful.
The cons: We only stayed one night- after taxes, fees, parking, the cost at checkout was about $300 more than the listed nightly price. If you're going to charge $700 per night, my expectation of the level of service is going to go WAY up- so it's not that the service was bad, it just wasn't to the level I would expect for such an expensive hotel. Part of the fees we paid was a $150 pet fee. Kind of ridiculous to me to charge a flat rate fee as opposed to a nightly fee- so we had to pay an extra $150 to bring the pup for one night.. On top of that- the room had nothing cute/special for the dog- not even a water bowl in the room.. I wrote a review on their website and included this critique, and it does seem that they have no added some pet amenities to the rooms. I also felt there was a lack of transparency about the pet fee- they literally sent 3 emails reminding me that parking was not included and we would have to pay $40/night to park on site- but the pet fee is not included in the cost when you book and it's also not mentioned in these emails. I looked back and it is listed under 'policies,' but felt it could have been made more clear at the time of booking or before we got onsite. I probably would've booked somewhere else had I know how much the taxes and fees would add up to.

High Priced with Odd Room Configurations.

First, while the hotel is located in a great place near all the restaurants, it is geared more towards a younger crowd. They do not take any cash, making tipping the valet hard to do. They cannot make change to make it easy to leave a tip to the maid. It is nuts.
Second, there is no sign at all other than one far away from the gym and pool - especially the gym - and none for which way to walk to the valet. Everything is very poorly marked, so you have to go explore to find anything.
Last, I had a so-called \"city view\" but it was of the HVAC units on the buildings in front of the hotel window. It was really ugly. And the room layout was odd - you walk into the bathroom - I kid you not! The TV was not made to be watched from the bed as it was off to the left of the bed.
Last, the pool is around four feet deep, and trash cans in the bathrooms were around four inches high.
Very expensive hotel, decorated nicely, but not comfortable.

The room is very clean and comfortable. It sits in the middle of SLO downtown, and is very convenient for shopping. The only problem is across from my room there is a pub, and it played loud EDM music all night until 1:30am, and their were talking so loud that I can hear them talking on third floor.

Great little gem in the heart of SLO

This was a great find! And it's nice to know it's part of the Bonvoy/Marriott family. Over the past several years, we have only stayed at The Granada Hotel while visiting SLO, unaware of this property. The location was perfect for us, as we like walking around town. With valet parking, it was easy to forget we had a car. The rooms were beautiful. The living garden used by the restaurant was lovely, the pool was refreshing, there were many beautiful sitting areas, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. The only annoying issue is that the property is cashless, so everything has to go to your room or a credit card. I tried to get a change for $20 to give the valet and housekeeping a tip, but they couldn't do that because they were cashless. We would have kept small bills on us if we had known that. Management should keep a little cash so that tips can be left by those trying to check out and get on the road.

Hotel is very overpriced relative to other choices in SLO. Several add on charges such as $40.00 a night for parking plus a $30.00 service charge beyond what Expedia advertises. you get a $30.00 \"food voucher\" but that only buys one glass of wine with no redemption of balance. I have never stayed a place so uncertain of what it actially is.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Cerro! Our room was very spacious, the rooftop pool was great and the onsite restaurant was quite good. My only complaint was charging me for drip coffee in the morning,$6 !! Honestly drip coffee at a hotel like this should be complimentary and ( in the hotel lobby) especially in the mornings… Overall we enjoyed our stay - conveniently located downtown and walking distance to many great spots!

bar restaurant by the pool not open despite front desk saying it’s “supposed to be open” - 3 days in a row. Found a contact lens in our bed, gross. Charged $40 for a soda and beer despite showing a $30 beverage free/card? Handed vouchers for free beverages but then told they were only for one certain type of drink? the motion sensor in the bathroom when you walk in the restroom bothersome as it wakes everyone up in the middle of the night and is a blaring light at 2am. The nightlight on the wall had to be covered up with a stack of chairs. Noise from a corner DJ on the street at 8:30am. Not the stay we recall. Disappointed this round. Lots of incremental charges on our bill and the amenities list feels like a bait and switch. Help us with something that will convince us to return.

SO CUTE, really lovely – would stay again. Only complaint: we stayed on the third floor and woke up at 6am to incredibly loud banging sounds from the ceiling. It went on for two hours – until I finally went upstairs to find out what was going on.

THE GYM WAS RIGHT ABOVE US! People had been dropping free weights on the ground, our ceiling! Absolutely unbelievable.

Make sure you ask for a room that is not immediately below the gym, or you're going to wake up to the earlybirds dropping free weights right above your head.

This hotel is terrible. The service is awful, there are no managers on site at all, the restaurant is terrible, the rooms are tiny for almost 1K a night, it is noisy, valley parking is so expensive, there are excessive taxes that make no sense and we felt very unsafe. Avoid at all costs

Very chic boutique hotel in downtown San Luis Obispo. Upscale property with top level service, spa, and great restaurant/bar. I’ve been to many upscale boutique hotels around the country and world, and this is right up there in the class of top upscale boutique hotels. Highly recommend for those visiting San Luis Obispo. Would absolutely stay here again if I ever came back to San Luis Obispo, but will never come back to San Luis Obispo since this visit was not by choice and not keen on visiting a rural town with absolutely nothing to do.

Only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars on property conditions and facilities is because the gym doesn’t open until 9 am because it is over a guest room. Considerate of the guest room, but not a great solution for someone like me who wants to wake up and work out first thing in the morning.

This is a really nice hotel and the staff is amazing. The drawback is the noise with the “City” view rooms. Bars across the street are open until 2am and are very loud. The staff was very accommodating and moved us to an interior room. It is such a shame this very nice hotel with great staff has such inconsiderate neighbors.

Overall a great hotel. The pool is really nice. The room lacked a full length mirror and the coffee & tea wasn’t replenished.
The main issue is the Thursday night downtown noise. We were warned when we checked in and told that there are earplugs at the front desk if we need them. At 1:00AM I’m not compelled to get out of bed and go to the front desk. Providing earplugs in the room would have been very helpful. The bands, the bass and the noise from people will keep you awake until 2
