Great property with great rooms — very comfortable and centrally located in downtown SLO. Great food at the attached restaurant, and there's a cool bar as well. The upstairs lounge, indoor and out, is a perfect spot for morning coffee (they keep it fresh and ready, along with croissants), or for before/after whatever you're doing, or while waiting on others in your group to head out (we were a group of 5 across different rooms).
The only reason for 4 stars is their key policy. They need to upgrade their locks. You can leave your door unlocked, and the key comes with this huge keychain you're forced to carry around — it's odd. My friend lost his key (because we'd all taken the keychains off, since they don't really fit in a pocket) and it cost him $250. They charge enough per night that they could invest in normal hotel door locks instead of charging guests for lost keys.
I'd stay again regardless, but I think they should fix that.

Loved the relaxed vibe of the hotel. The outdoor terrace and cozy fireplace areas were a plus as well as the complimentary freshly baked croissants and delicious coffee/tea early in the morning.
We were in the classic queen room 10 and liked the window opening to the alley for a fresh breeze and a lovely view of climbing ivy and a bit of the street.
Would have liked more hooks to hang our items and towels, otherwise it was comfortable room overall.
We enjoyed our drinks from the Nightcap bar upstairs by the fire outside with our friends who were also staying there. There are free bikes to use though we never had a chance to try them out.

Overall a great experience! Room was nice with comfortable bed, great fireplace and bathroom was clean. Two only big complaints were the lack of outlets accessibility and noise level; as we were next to the hotel bar and parking lot. The walls were thin and you could hear everything from late at night to early morning. Would recommend you stay here to enjoy the lounge area on a sunny day! It is definitely a beautiful space and must stay!

This was a wonderful find. The location was great for exploring the charming town of SLO as the hotel was just steps to the main street. The hotel is super charming with fireplaces in some of the rooms and public areas. Some of the rooms are somewhat small but my room was a perfect size and I enjoyed the gas fire. In the morning there were excellent pastry along with some fruit & tea/coffee for the guests. The hotel has a beautiful bistro and a very popular classic bar. Loved this hotel!!

The hotel was so convenient being right in the middle of downtown. We chose this hotel because it was walking distance to the Fremont theater. What made the stay really nice was the hospitality and service we received. We had an issue that we mentioned to the manager who happened to be nearby and he gave us service that was above and beyond our expectations to make up for the problem. We would stay here every time we come to San Luis Obispo. Also the Bistro food was excellent!

Lovely small hotel in the center of San Luis Obispo. Clean, cozy, quiet rooms with comfortable beds and lovely linen. Eric at the front desk is professional, friendly and helpful. Great terrace on the second floor overlooking the street, where you can sip wine or your drink of choice. Didn’t get a chance to visit their bistro, but there is always next time. Easy walk to anything you would like to see. i.e., the mission, restaurants, etc. If you get there by hotel check-in (3 pm) there is a small parking lot behind the hotel, if not, there is public lot nearby.
While the area was quiet on Monday night, Tuesday night was a little noisy - sounded like there was some street construction nearby or something (large trash bins being moved?) going on from around midnight to early morning. Not the hotel's fault and I still highly recommend! Thanks for an enjoyable stay! I will be back!!

It’s a very old, charming hotel, but unfortunately there were a couple of awkward aspects to it. First, I wasn’t able to get a hot shower. The hot water was on-and-off while showering. The internet connection was very poor. However, the location is fantastic and it does have a restaurant and bar on site.

Five star service at this gorgeous small boutique hotel. This building has so much history and character. It is incredible. Every hallway and corner has such style and wonderful detail, antiques galore. The rooms are stunning, comfortable, quaint. I can’t say enough about the beauty and style of this place andsuch wonderful service. The food in the restaurant is incredible. I would stay here again anytime. Absolutely loved it.

We have nothing but great things to say about this charming hotel. Its everything you'd want in a romantic weekend getaway. Check in was a breeze and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The woman at the front gave us some great recommendations for nearby restaurants but we did latenight cocktails at Nightcap and the Sunday Brunch at their restaurant as well. This boutique style hotel is so moody and invites you to read in a cute quiet spot or enjoy food on the terrace if you'd like. Overall, 10 out of 10 with the exception of trying to get my large SUV in & out of their private parking lot -- if you don't have a smaller vehicle, you would definitely struggle down the narrow alleyway. Take my word for it and park in the bank lot or parking garage instead.

We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel. San Luis Obispo has a vibrant downtown and the Granada Hotel is right in the middle of it. Every aspect is gorgeously designed. The room was smaller than a chain hotel's but far more delightful. The several public areas were also inviting and relaxing. Staff were helpful and classy. A real pleasure.

Everything was perfect and the staff went above and beyond. Such a treat to be spoiled on a trip away from home. I just don't really want to say more. Its like that band you love and dont want others to know so it can be your thing, or in hopes they don't sell out. So come here! But can you check to make sure they have room for me before you book, because I'm coming back for sure

Lots of character.
Beautiful old building but very dark inside. Rooms are nicely decorated but very small. Bathroom / shower fans cannot be turned off inside the rooms which becomes really annoying if you’re spending any time in the room during the day. Lots of character and overall a nice stay. Beautiful bar where they serve amazing cocktails.

Beautiful room, great amenities, a wonderful bistro. What more could you want the staff for extremely friendly and helpful. My room was very unique and even had a fireplace. It’s so close to the town center. I will definitely stay there again.

Beautiful, boutique hotel in downtown SLO with very small but well decorated rooms. The attached restaurant is amazing and the bar Nightcap is delightful.

Rooms are too small for 2 people. Bed didn’t seem like a queen. Parking is a challenge for a larger car Price is high price for the size of room and bed and no breakfast toilet paper was rough 1 ply.

Lovely Unique Boutique Hotel
Lovely boutique hotel- perfect for a romantic getaway. We chose a smaller room but it was comfy and luxurious. The upstairs communal outdoor patio was a lovely perch to drink wine and enjoy the delicious morning coffee and tea service. The bartender at the bistro prepared us some customized drinks and we enjoyed a fun conversation and afternoon snacks!

Great set up with lots of charm and character. Rooms are smaller but very nice. Good restaurant and really cool bar with great cocktails. Walkable to everything in the downtown area. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

Pleasant surprise staying in this hotel! Rooms are great with modern-style bathrooms. Was able to sit out on my balcony and get work done. Loved the bars here, including the speakeasy which was a nice chill spot for our last evening in town. Great location, in the middle of everything.
