This hotel is in a beautiful area! Very quiet with lots of walking areas. Close to everything. Next to a very quaint store and deli. Would definitely stay here again.

Rm 113, Our room had several marks that had putty but not painted. On the fireplace side, tiles missing and measurements written on the exposed drywall. One of the chairs had wires hanging out from the bottom. The sink faucet was not secured or mounted. A little disappointed. Staff was wonderful and grounds beautiful.

It was our first time here. Me and my wife came for our 8 year anniversary, i added on the roses to the room with a bottle of wine, the roses turned out amazing my wife was so happy, Staff super friendly, overall the place is nice and clean the room with the jacuzzi was amazing, it has Ac also has a fireplace to keep the room nice and cozy, the bed was super comfortable, only small complaint I have is the jacuzzi area had alot of ants but other then that everything was amazing definitely recommend this place, will definitely come back in the near future

We've stayed at this hotel before and there are things we love and things that lead to a 3 star review. The staff are lovely and the location is great. The hotel itself is a bit dated and the pillows were awful. In addition, the $30 \"inclusion fee\" doesn't include anything. No breakfast, no pool/hot tub, and the \"free bikes\" are only for 2 hours unless they happen to be checked out as well. Overall, it feels like a junk fee and we probably won't be coming back.

All staff were very friendly and helpful! Room was big and clean. Bed was comfy with lots of pillows. Nicely located between SLO and Avila Beach. Wonderful walking/biking path that went for many miles ,mostly along the river so was very pretty. If I had one complaint it would be the lack of a microwave in the room but that is minor. Would definitely stay there again.

The room we were in was recently updated and was really nice. It was spacious enough for our family of four and had a great bathroom with a separate area for the toilet that allowed the bathroom to be used by more than one person. The only issue we had was that someone was constantly opening and closing their door late at night and as it was closing it was extremely loud. When we tried to call the front desk for help, no one answered. We called multiples times and even left a message. I think if the doors have a soft close that could help. It would also be nice to know the front desk is available.

Property is beautiful and situated right on the trail leading into Avila beach. It was quiet, very clean, and so very cute. Our room was spacious with a fireplace, balcony looking into the trail and nature, and huge bathroom. My only small issue was the price to use the pool at the Avila Club next door. I can understand paying an additional fee, but it was really pricey per person and this was on top of the 30 dollars you are already paying for facilities fee. I would come again if the hotel could negotiate a better price to use the pool for guests staying at the inn next door. If you don’t care about a pool, then it’s an absolutely perfect place to stay.

The staff was very friendly we stayed in an older room that had a jacuzzi tub shower combo with a shower door it was a little hard to get into the shower for a 5’5” person. They had coffee in the lobby. Looks like pre Covid they probably did wine reception and or light snacks but now they rely on the deli up the road and you can tell the deli where you are staying and they give you 10% off. Overall the room was good and satisfied our needs.

The room we stayed in was in their new building. Very clean and minimalist. We did not have a hot tub or balcony. Be aware that some of those rooms have balconies overlooking their parking lot. Our view was to the back of the building, a view of the trees. But a balcony would have been nice. The beds were so comfortable. As a matter of fact we were trying to figure out what kind of bed it was. We have a 12 year old sleep number bed at home and these beds were great! It was very quiet there and we had zero issues. The fireplace was nice, but it was situated at the end of the bed and you could not see it from the bed and it was not near the chairs. So, that was a little disappointing. But overall the room and staff were great! Thank you for a relaxing stay!

We have fond memories of staying at the Avila Village Inn, but hadn't been for a few years. We were disappointed w/ some of the changes at the property during our recent stay. We liked The Avila Village Inn for these reasons: rooms w/ private, outdoor hot tubs, access to the health club next door during the stay, & free bike rentals. On this trip, we were unable to book a hot tub room & had a basic room. It was fine, definitely a bit dated. The carpet was a bit gross & the bed was lumpy. The room did have a fireplace, which we were excited about, however, it didn't have much of a flame, so it wasn't great. On night 1, we went next door to the health club. We were shocked to find out that the agreement w/ the hotel was no longer a thing & access now costs $35/person/day. This was a HUGE let down, as this was a huge part of the reason we booked our stay. (I'm not sure we would have kept our reservation if we knew beforehand.) The health club told us that the hotel used to include the access cost in the reservation price but discontinued that in 2024. I recognize that realistically, we were probably paying about the same amount for the club access when we stayed in the past. However, w/ it included in the reservation it felt less egregious than having to pay once we were there. Another change was w/ bike rentals. Now, they are free for 2 hrs & then $10/hr! These changes made it feel like we were being \"nickel & dimed\". The staff was the highlight of the stay. Everyone was great!

Front desk staff was welcoming. I liked the coffee/tea station in the lobby. The room was clean and a good size for 2 people. The bed was adequate. There was a heater with remote that was effective. The bathroom was spacious. However, the water pressure in the bathroom was poor and there was a lack of hot water making for an unpleasant showering experience. The complimentary shower soaps were not as pleasant as other properties we have visited. They need more electric vehicle charging stations. The location was very nice right along the Jones Trail so very green. I would stay here again if the price was right and the shower issue was fixed.

Over the course of at least 10 years, we’ve stayed at Avila village Inn, at least half a dozen times. For the most part, they’ve always had very nice accommodations although at times feel like some of the rooms are a little long on the tooth. Not that it’s that important to us, but the new TVs are a bit cumbersome to navigate. And finding a couple of hairs and uncleaned areas within the hotel room, were a little disappointing. No longer being able to access the athletic club across the way was a little disappointing, but I get it with costs and all. Lobby personnel could be a little more engaging. It’s hard to deviate from staying here because the location is so wonderful especially being able to run or ride a bike to the beach on the Bob Jones Trail. Overall, it’s still a very good value, but we may consider other newer hotels in the area.

Lovely, upgraded hotel set just enough off the beach for peace and tranquility from the crowds. The things that would move my overall review from 4 to 5 stars would be less expensive daily fees to use the athletic club next door (it’s $45 per person per day even for a short workout or hot tub access) and attention to delivery truck and landscaping in the overnight and early morning hours, which woke us all. We had one minor issue with our shower drain, which was immediately remedied when we mentioned it to the front desk staff. I would absolutely stay here again.

We were in the new wing and everything was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. The hotel was beautiful but the room I was given had a very dangerous jetted tub shower combo. It required you to climb over a 3 ft high an 1 foot wide tile side to get into the ton just to shower. They left the metal rail that held the former glass door which meant that you had to risk impaling yourself as you climbed into and out. An accident waiting to happen!

The room was clean, felt cozy and not like your regular hotel room. It usually takes us a couple hours to settle in but we felt comfortable and at home immediately. Staff is super friendly and welcoming. Parking is easy and onsite. Location is great, Avila Beach is a few minutes away and downtown SLO is also a few minutes away. I am definitely going to return and recommend for a nice and relaxing weekend getaway. The shower and tub are all connected so it is challenging getting in if you're shorter or have physical challenges with your legs.

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and really love it. It's a gem with a nice walking trail behind the hotel that takes you to the beach. There is a cute little wine/beer garden on the trail in the opposite direction of the beach which is a delight. You can rent bikes and there is an also a deli/market that has all the essentials.
