The room was nice and the staff was helpful. The view was good. I would recommend getting the second floor so the view could be better I had room Number 7. The rooms were pretty clean just a little dust on the ac unit and back of the tv and the floors could have been mopped better. The only thing I didn’t like was when people would walk by they could see right in your room. Other then that me and my family were comfortable and enjoyed our stay.

This is a Pismo Beach treasure. It’s a motel and it has all the funk of a Motel but it’s super cool, very reasonable and you can’t ask for a better location. It’s right on that Pacific. I will return every time I go to Pismo area.

We love this hotel. Great location, comfortable beds, beautiful views. Steps away from the beach and pier. The room has a heater, ceiling fan and portable AC. plenty of bedding and extra pillows. TV, fridge and microwave. Ive machine in lobby.
Shower has low pressure, but gets the job done. We stayed here last summer and there was no AC unit, I love that they added one since it can get pretty warm in the afternoon.

We stayed for our first family trip to celebrate our babies first birthday. The location was perfect, and the view from our room was amazing. Bed was comfy, room was clean and staff was so helpful with recommendations to find a birthday cake! I have to stress that the location to the pier and shops/restaurants was perfect. I had a stroke 2.5 months ago so I have minimal energy for activity with limited Mobility and everything was within a short walk! Perfect!

The location is great. Even though it states that there is no smoking on the property, a large family staying there was chain smoking at the shared tables the entire time. Started up by 8:00 am and continued until night. It made sitting outside not as enjoyable.

CUTE LITTLE MOTEL STEPS AWAY FROM THE BEACH. YOU PAY FOR THE LOCATION, NOT THE ROOM. ROOMS ARE VERY SMALL, JUST ENOUGH ROOM TO STEP AROUND THE BED. TINY SHOWER. ROOM WAS CLEAN. FOR THE PRICE, IT SHOULD BE A BETTER LARGER ROOM IN MY OPINION. THEY SURPRISED ME BY CHARGING MY CARD $100 A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE WE ARRIVED, KIND OF RUBBED ME THE WRONG WAY. OVERALL, ROOM WAS GOOD ENOUGH TO SLEEP IN, PRICED TOO HIGH, BUT NICE TO BE A FEW STEPS FROM PISMO BEACH.

This was a perfect spot for our stay in Pismo. My family will now only stay at Dolphin Cove when visiting Pismo. It is so close to the beach, you can hear the waves of the ocean while falling asleep, and the sound again at the rise of the sun. The manager, Michael is also very kind and professional. My daughter left some items there and he actually held them for us. We had overall wonderful stay there and we will surely be back for our next family mini vacay.

We selected a single queen bed room for 1 night, the room was very very small, only enough room to walk around the bed, no hot water in sink but some in shower which also very small. Restricted use of ice machine (in office which closes at 9pm). There are better options in Pismo Beach will no stay here again

I am in love with this view and location. It is right next-door to Pismo downtown in the pier. Is the closest to the shore of any of the hotels and right next-door to woollies. Everything is beautiful if you're lucky enough to get the Sweet. It is such an incredible stay and the panoramic view to the ocean is just breathtaking. I run at the front desk is very nice and helpful. Parking is easy and again very front row. I stayed here two weekends in a row because I was so in love.

Really fantastic find! Best location for the beach goers and surfers. Brilliant for families, as we had a two bedrooms and a sofa, spacious bathroom and all that's needed included. The host is very helpful and welcoming! Gave us some great tips on location, food, things to do and genuinely lovely person. Would happily come back to Dolphin Cave Motel and highly recommend it to anyone.

This is an older hotel with small rooms that are beautifully taken care of. They are very clean and in great shape. Even the parking lot is cleaned daily. You are a 10 second walk from the pier and beach. The staff is very nice and will accommodate you if possible.

A very nice place to stay, right next to the beach. Clean and well maintained with a couple of notable - albeit minor - issues: (1) being next to the beach, there is no AC. On the second night of our stay, there was zero sea breeze and that, combined with the very small opening on the beach-side window and the rather small operable window in the bathroom meant that there was zero cross breeze through the room. I was very uncomfortable in that warmth... (2) there was a box fan in the room but it turned out to be broken and unusable, so my sleep that night was not good at all. I spoke to the on-site manager the next day and learned that even at 2am, I could have taken the box fan to the front desk and gotten a replacement. In all, my negative experiences were somewhat minor and if asked if I would return for another stay, I'd probably say yes. I think I would want to stay on the second floor however so that I could leave my door on the security hook and get a little better air movement in the night. Plus I'd make sure up front, that the provided fan(s) were all in good working order!

Will not stay here again. No sheer drapes so unless you pull the blackouts curtain closed, you're on display like an animal in the zoo. No place to put anything in the bathroom. Closet had only 4 hangers. They allow smoking right outside the room so all the smoke came in our room. No place to plug anything in. EXHORBANT RATE for a room like this. Should cost $50.00.

Traveled over 2 hours and had a two night stay. My brother and his wife came to the hotel to visit and help me with plans to move to this area. We were in the parking lot ready to leave and the Manager arms crossed and a bad attitude came up and said that there was no visitors allowed. First time I’ve ever been somewhere and been told someone (especially family) couldn’t just visit. On top of that a group of 5/6 people were lingering outside in the parking lot being loud and drinking (two were underage and told me so) and the manager walked by them twice that I saw and didn’t say a word. This was every hour of the night. Be careful going there and let this be your heads up that even family members who you didn’t put “as guests” are not allowed.

It’s so. nice to feel cared about by the staff. Gave us a free upgrade and the next day took time to say good morning and ask if we enjoyed our stay. I will definitely come back. Every room has a view. We had a microwave and mini fridge. Very convenient especially when you have so many restaurants within walking distance. Leftovers for lunch the next day or late night.
